I bricked my z play

Dear all,
after a try to load the Chinese twp and root my z play I bricked my phone. Now the only think that I can get is fast boot screen that says:

I am trying to load the XT1635-02_ADDISON_RETUS_6.0.1_MPNS24.104-49-4 firmware by running a bat file that I found somewhere around with the following commands:

Just flash the boot.img, recovery.img , all sparsechunks.img and the OEM.img using fastboot.
After you've flashed type in fastboot erase userdata and then fastboot reboot and see what happens

Have you guys downgraded to Marshmallow, then tried updating to N again? Particularly after installing the April update?

I'm not sure. I believe you need a blankflash file for that firmware from what I've gathered, if it was a downgrade to Marshmallow after the April update for N, then updating back to N.

Yep, I'm was using ViperOS, I'm downgraded to stock Marshmallow and was doing the OTA updates. When the phone reboot to install Nougat this happened.

Ah, so it was the update to Nougat that caused it. Yeah that has something to do with a bootloader upgrader in the April update I believe. You'll have to wait for a blankflash file to surface to repair that issue, unfortunately. Only reason I was asking was because I downgraded to Marshmallow a few months ago, then OTA'd back to Nougat, then also got the March update later down the road and never had any issues. I haven't gotten the April update yet but it'll be a good reminder to me not to downgrade to Marshmallow again.

I never had to fix it. I downgraded from the January patch for N (which I had sideloaded), OTA'd from Marshmallow to N + the February patch from my carrier, then I got prompted for March's update a few weeks later, so I guess there was never an issue downgrading back then, but something changed in April's patch that causes hardbricks when you downgrade and try to go back to Nougat. I've never had the April patch installed before so it hasn't affected me. From what I've read, it's only happened to people who had downgraded after installing April's update. Sorry I can't offer any help there. :/

Hello there. So, after flashing the TWRP my moto z play got bricked and now it remains at the "bad key" screen at boot. I can get into the fastboot screen and the recovery. To my understanding, I need to flash some firmware. My doubts are; does it matter which one of all I flash? And, most are marshmallow: I had nougat before this happened so, will I have trouble flashing these? Thanks!

[SOLVED] Need help! Lost IMEI and signal

Hi People, I'm a Moto G5 (XT1676) user. After unlocking bootloader, rooting, flashing ROMs, etc. I "broke" my phone and now mi IMEIs are 0 and lost my phone signal.
I've been reading posts of older versions (Moto G1, G3) that people seem to fix this problem by flashing oher phone's back up of fsc, hob and dhob partitions. The problem is that in my Moto G5 only fsc partition appears.
I'm not expert and don't understand too much , I'm just asking for your help please, my phone turned into a tablet .
Do anyone of you guys know what partition do I have to fix in this phone?
Can you upload a back up of those partitions for me please?
Flashing those partitions on other versions of the phone seem to fix signal problem leaving IMEI = 0, I just need my signal back.
Something that I don't know if is relevant is that when I messed up flashing things, reading posts around internet I used some commands that I think modified "persist" and "misc" partitions.
Can anyone upload those just in case too?
Sorry if something is wrong, english is not my native language.
Please help me!
EDIT!!:
I've managed to revive my phone restoring someone's persist backup from twrp, "Backup & Restore partitions" doesn't work. The file I used to fix this problem is in this link: https://mega.nz/#!Yd82hSZZ!vdmbqAG0bQhNyR5g95KOrZjVvBw2QDrirpOwhD96gPc
The only file i needed was the persist backup in that .rar
It's no my partition, I've found it around internet, searching everywhere, but it worked.
Thanks for all the people that tried to help me!
IMEI stayed 0 but my mobile signal is back!!
How to restore that partition?:
1-Install TWRP.
2-Go into Backup and make a backup of any partition there. This will create a partition folder inside TWRP folder.
3-Copy the persist backup I've shared into that backup folder.
4-Boot into twrp, restore and select persist.
5-Restore.
6-Flash stock rom again for your device.
I hope that this help anyone in the same situation. This works for Moto G5 Plus too from what I've been reading.
It would be nice if people comment their results so we can help others.
Attention!: This doesn't fix IMEI, it stays 0 but mobile signal is back.
Good Luck and thanks!
flash stock rom via fastboot
never play around with partitions unless you know what you are doing - simply typing in commands without knowing their meaning will likely muck up your device
find your stock rom firmware via the power of google
Open a command/terminal prompt where you have fastboot (if you have added fastboot to the environmental settings you can run it from any location)
The commands you will likely need are
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk0

I've already tried flashing stock rom but the problem is still there, I've also tried some custom roms too without success.
I know is my fault, I touched where I didn't have to.
I don't know what else to try, I think flashing other's back up partitions is my last shot.
I don't know if you are a Moto G5 user, but if you are, can you share those partitions to me?
Thanks for your reply.
Your gonna need an EFS / QCN backup. Do you know how to set the modem to diagnostic mode?

From what I've been reading Moto G doesn't have a EFS partition, I've found in other forums that Moto G4 series have that data in "Persist" partition, and that partition is the one i've been touching..
That's why I'm asking if someone can backup that partition and share to me.
There is an app that does the job "Partitions Backup & Restore", I think you need root to use it.
I need that Persist backup just to try fix my phone, if you have Moto G5, can you help me with that?
Yes I know how to set it into diagnostic mode. (I've been trying apps and programs that in that mode fix qualcomm devices without success).
Thanks for your reply!
Can someone please help me with a "persist" partition backup please? I really need help.
Hi Jerito. Sorry to take a few days to reply to your PM. Been away.
Not sure i can help with this one as am not knowledgeable about copying particular partitions.
About the most comprehensive rebuild i have ever done was what i posted about doing it file by file and if i was in your situation, well, thats what i'd try.
Can you somehow extract the partition you are after out of a ROM??
I'll do you a qcn backup, wait till early hours of Monday morning. I'm curious cause i have the same issue with my lenovo P2, no persist partition, but I think the persist partition is created from the fsg partition

The rom which came with your device is called stock rom. You can find it here
https://www.google.co.in/amp/s/foru...l-stock-moto-g5-cedric-firmware-t3733897/amp/
You can flash the old rom but you should not flash gpt and bootloader. If you flash bootloader and gpt your device will get hard bricked. So I suggest you to don't flash gpt and bootloader if you're having old stock rom. If you having latest stock rom then you can flash bootloader and gpt.

Ok I flashed the original stock ROM and I ended up getting 0 IMEI and no network. I followed your guide :
It seem like many of are not getting imei after doing this also.let me explain you in a clear way
Step1:-run on a custom rom such as lineage,aosp...
(Note:-if you have 4g/LTE in custom rom then skip step2)
Step2:-turn off your phone and get into bootloader and run the following commands
Fastboot erase modemst1
Fastboot erase modemst2
Step3:-make a back up of efs in Twrp 64x bits(save the efs in external memory so it will not get erased) and erase data, cache only
Step4:-now flash 32xbits Twrp then
Step5:-flash stock rom using following commands
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.o
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase customize
fastboot erase clogo
fastboot reboot
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
Step6:-now reboot your phone
Step7:-you will get the Imei and 4g/LTE
Step8:-don't use OTA, use adb you can download updates from here
https://drive.google.com/drive/mobil...Py?usp=sharing
Step9:-reboot to stock recovery and select apply update from adb
Step10:-run the following command to apply update
Adb sideload filename.zip
Step11:-In may security patch you may lose imei
Step12:-now install Twrp 64x bits and restore efs from it which you have make it before
Step13:-reboot your device.done
Now you will get the Imei,4g/LTE and latest update.
Let me know if it works for you.
--------------
This didn't work though, I have been messing around and finally got IMEI and 3G back again by reinstalling pixel experience ROM. But 4G doesn't even come up anymore when I select it in the Android network option, It just stays 3G when i select 4G, before it would say 4G with a X through it at the top of the home screen.
I have some questions, why do you need to flash 32bit TWRP because after you use the commands to flash stock it wipes thw TWRP anyway? also where can I get the 32bit as I can only find 64bit version.
Is that the reason why I got 0 IMEI because I didn't use 32 bit TWRP?
Finger print and loud speaker is now working but I REALLY need 4G back, please tell me how I can accomplish this?
I backed up my EFS AFTER I used the following commands:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
But all that did was remove my IMEI.
I am lost how to get 4G back
Restoring EFS does nothing....
Thanks

Ok I flashed the original stock ROM and I ended up getting 0 IMEI and no network. I followed your guide :
It seem like many of are not getting imei after doing this also.let me explain you in a clear way
Step1:-run on a custom rom such as lineage,aosp...
(Note:-if you have 4g/LTE in custom rom then skip step2)
Step2:-turn off your phone and get into bootloader and run the following commands
Fastboot erase modemst1
Fastboot erase modemst2
Step3:-make a back up of efs in Twrp 64x bits(save the efs in external memory so it will not get erased) and erase data, cache only
Step4:-now flash 32xbits Twrp then
Step5:-flash stock rom using following commands
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.o
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase customize
fastboot erase clogo
fastboot reboot
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
Step6:-now reboot your phone
Step7:-you will get the Imei and 4g/LTE
Step8:-don't use OTA, use adb you can download updates from here
https://drive.google.com/drive/mobil...Py?usp=sharing
Step9:-reboot to stock recovery and select apply update from adb
Step10:-run the following command to apply update
Adb sideload filename.zip
Step11:-In may security patch you may lose imei
Step12:-now install Twrp 64x bits and restore efs from it which you have make it before
Step13:-reboot your device.done
Now you will get the Imei,4g/LTE and latest update.
Let me know if it works for you.

Now your in which rom stock or custom??? If you're on custom rom just use this command's
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
If you are in stock you need to go back to custom check if 4g is there if not use the above command and then come to stock without using this codes
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
And gpt, bootloader.

I am on pixel again, if I go back to stock it gives me 0 IMEI, and I don't want to risk it as I don't have the internet at home right now I am tethered via my phone. I did these commands
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
Before and it wiped my IMEI.
What do you mean "and gpt, bootloader" they need flashing too? for which ROM? I am so confused.
Why is 32bits TWRP needed?
I tried stock rom and the oreo rom and both gave me 0 IMEI but I am not sure what I did to get it working on pixel, I flashed pixel in TWRP and booted the phone and the IMEI and 3G was working again, but no 4G.

Any update? this is really stressing me out
even two guys in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/help/solution-0-imei-stock-t3801860/
Said that getting 4g back wasn't possible? and the post before my one that guy had issues too. I hear there is no fix to get 4G back....

I am on Pixel rom with 3G only, no 4G, I just used those commands and rebooted the phone, it wiped my IMEI and gave me no signal..... so that doesn't work....
I then had to install stock rom again (without the above codes and gpt/bootloader it didn't give me imei stilI) So I wipe data, reinstall pixel custom rom and still no imei or 3g, I then installed Oreo soak test with all the commands (including fastboot erase modemst1/2 and gpt/bootloader) then flash pixel again to get my 3g back... I think I am doomed and 4g doesn't work anymore, many people are saying the same thing. Even on this guys video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmKg84IXEbo
I also can't restore my EFS file as when I try to it says some error about a partition?
Apprently the only way to fix it is install official android 8.0 that guy said? is this true?

Not sure, I did use 32bit twrp for something I can't remember what though, it wasn't stock rom as I used the commands to flash stock rom.
Also tried this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/how-to/how-to-recovery-4g-moto-g5-t3787208
But that didn't work either, using the erase modem commands just wipes my IMEI. I tried this on Pixel rom though not the DotOS, surely that doesn't make any difference?

Baseband M8998TMO_20207.117.02.41.04R NUS, firmware?

Hi everyone,
Recently I bought a phone from a UK seller, new, but can't figure out which is the firmware:
Baseband: M8998TMO_20207.117.02.41.04R NUS
Software variant: retru
Software channel: tmo
Build number: OPXS27.109-24-17
These were the original settings, after I flash the last version from retru I can't get signal from the SIM card although it detects and I have IMEI and everything.
Even if I flash the same build number from retru I get a different baseband, I have WiFi and bluetooth working fine.
What is the model number by the usb c port? It has T-Mobile baseband and software channel, so the model should be XT1789-04 if it is actually a TMO variant.
UK model is a xt1789-05 you can flash and firmware on it there's just a few files you have to swap when flashing the flashall.bat mines Vodafone but running the EU version and have tried some other countries

I tried retru and retail none gives me the right baseband to have the SIM card working, no matter the version I flash even with complete wipe using TWRP I still have on the variant saying TMO which is strange I think.

Hi!
I flashed the latest TMO firmware although I created a hybrid rom with the files for the network from TMO and the remaining from RETEU.
I'm sorry unfortunately I don't know much about ROMs and firmware I just recently learned how to flash .. from a YouTube video..
Can you provide the link and method it would be very helpful...

Odd issue with sim cards

*Update: I finally was able to get a hold of someone at sprint who actually took the time to take care of me. My phone was indeed unlocked, but she submitted the unlock request again. After restarting my phone on, wifi with a sprint sim, it unlocked!!!! Finally! Btw sprint doesn't like you walking into stores without a mask on and they'll give you the corporate # immediately to get you out of the store. 877-365-6413 Hope this helps someone since it took me 6 sprint community chats, 3 phone calls and a store visit to handle.
About 2 years ago I bought 2 Boost Moto G plays for $49. We activated them on Sprint and used them for a year. Sprint Sim unlocked both phones after 6 months and I have confirmed it twice. I gave my old moto g6 play to my mother in law with Verizon. Popped the sim card in and it worked no problem. My wife continued to use her moto g6 play but wanted Android 9, so I unlocked the bootloader, downgraded and then flashed the stock sprint update from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g6-play/development/ota-moto-g6-play-aljeter-t3921877
Phone worked fine and wife used it for 6 more months until we upgraded to g7 powers.
The issue I am having is that the only sim card this phone will read is the sprint one. Tmobile=Nothing. Verizon=No. At&t=No.
I know for a fact that the other phone works on Verizon, so this one should too. I tried flashing RetUS on this phone (which actually worked for my metro g7 power to work on Verizon) and still no luck. I figure something is messed up, or not flashed properly to see the other sim cards.
Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance!
This is how i flashed it:
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot erase carrier
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase DDR
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
fastboot reboot
I skipped boot.img on purpose, gpt.bin, adspso.bin, logo.bin

Thank you for reaching out!!! Tried it with no luck. When flashing the modem file it says: not found? Not sure if that's a normal error or not.
Also the phone simply says, sim status: unavailable. So it knows it's in the phone but doesn't know what to do with it.
I think you're on the right track though! It's something simple that didn't flash properly at some point.
