Tested GSI List for the Nord N10 5G - OnePlus Nord N10 5G Guides, News, & Discussion

Decided a list might be nice to have for those interested in flashing GSI Images
All these GSI's I've tested on a BE2026 Lito, but I'd assume its the same for other models. As long as you can unlock bootloader anyway
GSI List
Havok OS
-- Android 10
-- Pros: Reads SIM cards, wifi functions, bluetooth works, camera works, everything works
-- Cons: Once you flash Magisk using custom recovery, it only boots to bootloader, GAPPS won't flash, had to debrick device after this...
/e/OS DeGoogled GSI
-- Android 10
-- Pros: Wifi/Bluetooth/Camera and system work. Magisk flash with custom recovery works
-- Cons: Doesn't read sim cards at all, Screen stays exceptionally bright at all times even at 0% brightness
LeOS DeGoogled GSI
-- Android 10 and Android 11
-- Pros: Same as /e/OS
-- Cons: Same as /e/OS
DotOS GSI
-- Android 11
-- Pros: Not really any lol
-- Cons: Upon initial boot ,screen flashes, System Force Closes, screen is black. Unusable
Android 12 GSI from Google
-- Android 12
-- Never Boots
crDroid GSI
-- Android 11
-- Pros: nothin
-- Cons: have to delete product_a and _b slot partitions to resize for it to function, never boots, kicks you back to bootloader
- currently flashing

Android 12 if it works I also have a list give me time but some roms need permissiver.zip

Huh did not know of that. Know a fix for issues with SIM Card not being seen at all? /e/OS does it to me on every device I flash it to. I've seen people say to flash back to stock then flash an A-Only GSI, sometimes that fixes the SIM issue

It may be a problem with the vendor or kernel, I could compile but my laptop broke down and renting a server is very expensive in my country

Don't have anything except Discord, Twitter and FB, but I generally only share my discord.
I'm thinking something's just missing from the ROMs, since it works with Havok ROM and such

How did you get HavocOS to boot? This specific image never seems to boot no matter what I do. Did you flash any fixes or did it just boot up first time?

I'm using Corvus 16.7 and everything works just fine EXCEPT connecting a headset or a speaker. I can't do it no matter if I use a cable or via Bluetooth, which is a shame because I use to listen to music that way.
Everything else works fantastic, so I don't have regrets.

Ever since the Android 11 update went through, even if I use the debricking Android 10 software to go back, no gsi boots at all. Even GSI's I had that were working.

Yesterday I tested Android 12 AOSP GSI+GMS on my N10 5G. It works, but 90hz needs to be set from adb, biometrics won't work at all (build.prop might need edits) and 5G cannot be enabled. LTE, 3G and 2G works, calls work, WiFi & Bluetooth works, camera works and audio works.
I think that the issue is on build.prop. Also you need to install proper vbmeta.img so it can boot.

I've had this bookmarked for when I had my laptop working.

Seems we have the ability to add gsi images and everything.

I'll try Pixel 5 Android 12 Beta 4.1 firmware GSI port too, maybe more stuff works.

I used GSI installation tutorial from this forum. Also issues on GSI might be possible to solve, but I have no idea how...

I've totally forgotten to update about my GSI experience on this phone. Pixel 5 port didn't work properly, but I haven't tried any Phh-Treble images yet.

a(11)-a(12) gsi+gms dsu loader worked fine (its the 'easy' button for flashing)on N10 5G (w/unlocked bootloader).but i noticed my storage space was reduced to like 8 or 9gb,(tryin to recall but i flashed back as soon i saw it).and then almost corupted my sd card.. or it misread it. cant remember if it wiped my phone(it was already wiped)or id just flash back over, but setting up phone again and again sucks.man,i got the memory of a goldfish

Lineage OS on A2 lite?

Is it possibleto flash the Lineage treble rom to mi A2 lite?
I still didn't tried this (I must search for a spare phone to use while experimenting with daisy) but you can precede me, simply reset your phone and flash via fastboot with
Code:
fastboot flash system lineagetreblerom.img
You must use the A/B image type.
If something goes wrong you can flash the stock firmware.

As far as i understood treble, it is only the vendor partition which is not flashed. So you would still need a LOS compatible kernel to flash (or you are lucky and the original kernel works). Also, LOS needs to be adjusted for specific things on this phone (like resolution, dpi, options to show up in settings, avaiable ram/storage, etc).
So we have to wait until xiaomi or a proper dev releases a kernel source. It would probably also be possible to adjust the build environment to fit the original kernel.
Or did i understand sth wrong here?
edit:
Flashing GSI's should work, it is a nice way to have another rom with more features on the device, but it is not a homebuilt n optimized rom (probably similar perf/battery to stock).
treble gsi rom don't need the vendor partition that's what makes treble great . you just flash the gsi rom into system on a treble compatible device
Hi
sgi ab images works (does not handle well rounded corners as icons are a bit near corners) but works
lineage booted. I will test and report
Both Lineage and RR boots but they are laggy. Camera quality is quite bad.
Both can be used as daily drivers

How I can flash a GSI ROM for Redmi Note 8 Pro?

Hello everyone, Im trying to understand how to flash a GSI img ROM (I want to try AOSP stock, or Havoc OS) but, I saw some posts and looks like is a bit hard to do.
I had TWRP installed (unofficial begonia) and magisk installed.
some informations I found: this device is just A slot supported
What exactly I need?
Orange Fox recovery?
Before flash need to disable something in recovery?
A arm64 slot IMG?
And gapps?
What are the steps?
Im waiting your answer
So far with my personal experience trying to flash Lineage 17 GSI on my RN8Pro and have had no luck. Lost baseband and both imei #'s in the process too (still trying to figure out how to restore).
Finally was lucky!
Flash LR Team TWRP:
https://mega.nz/#!B75xWQQQ!8DQdy09luHihxCziRX7ywUWkAwmAahjnWOQDgHxcTPA
Enable debugging and make sure computer has permission to use
On command promp adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot (immediately disconnect phone and hold volume up)
In twrp go to advanced and Select "Close AVB2.0" swipe to confirm
Go back to twrp home -> Wipe -> Format
Flash gsi
And presto!
I just flashed Lineage 17 GSI as of now I wouldn't recommend it. Fixing to flash ASOP 10 GSI from phhusson see if it is any better!
Also as a favor since I lost baseband and imei for my phone could you please create a backup through twrp of your nvram and nvdata and PM it to me?
If you need any help just pm me!

Off the bat, Bluetooth did not work it just kept giving a Bluetooth has stopped message. Didn't have face unlock. Screen would suddenly flash as if display were damaged and would suddenly freeze when opening stock apps. And a few other things I don't remember as I already flash off of it.

Generic System Image. Basically a single ROM image that should technically work in any device running Android 8.1 or newer. It contains the generic AOSP (Pure android) source.

Disabling HW Overlays means that your GPU is the only thing that will handle all of the graphics on your phone. If this is not on in some GSI ROMs the screen will flicker when it's about to go to sleep and at other random times. It can be accessed in Developer options.
Additionally, as this is a GSI made to work on many different phones, the proportions on the screen are off when you first install it. On Havoc, all of the resizing options are in Havoc Settings. In other ROMs without customization options, there are ADB commands that can resize your ROM. Specifically, the problems I initially experienced were involving the status bar icons and clock only partially being on the screen.

I am actually using the GSI right now. I didn't restore MIUI because I just did not like it. I think I'll stay on this GSI. Again, after some modifications in Settings, the ROM I'm using works near perfectly.
The cameras, of course, are kind of messed up though. No matter what camera app I use I cannot access the 64MP camera and anything other than the camera app that came with the GSI (which is pretty bad) randomly flickers the screen while I'm taking a picture or recording a video, even after disabling HW Overlays in Developer Options. Maybe could be fixed by flashing a third party camera app as a system app.
Other than that, no problems whatsoever.

Yeah, but the screen flashes randomly on them.
CameraMX works great with the cameras that it does support. CameraF5-V crashes randomly. GCam for RN8P can only take photos, and only supports 2 cameras. I think that some of these issues would be fixed if I flashed then as system apps, because the stock camera app works fine, albeit the fact that it's just not a very good camera app.

Lineage Recovery
Hello XDA,
I'm posting a build using the unified curtana build code that's on github. I have a joyeuse (9 Pro) so I can't really test it on the 9S (curtana). I've been testing it out for a couple of days and haven't had any bugs other than status bar centered items.
Bugs / not working / To do:
Wireguard support Added 18-Sept
Play Store certification (Workaround using MagiskHide Props Config)
64 MP camera module seems to work only with the ANX Camera ver 185(not included). You must manually add all permissions.
Status bar text around the front camera

I have, it might be Magisk or I'm not hiding it properly.
Edit: I used the Magisk HideProps module and everything works fine now. I think the naming, curtana vs joyeuse and version number were causing the issue.

If you are coming from stock, I installed the Lineage recovery, installed the ROM. After it rebooted, I went back to install OpenGapps and Magisk.
I tried going from stock using Pbrp but it failed for me. After Lineage was installed, PBRP worked fine.
I have just installed it, anything I should know?
Installed successful on
Note pro 9 a Joyeuse (global) with 64mp cam , nfc and Lte aka a M2003J6B2G
Only recovery from lineage worked for me ... it also enables fastbootd !!
Rooting with magiskmanager wasnt possible via patching boot.img but flashing Magisk-v20.4.zip via recovery worked .
nfc works too
fastcharge seems so work fine ...
lte seems to work too
will try anx cam and 64 mpx tomorrow ... //edit - ANXCameraUnity_185.SaltyIntelligentPlainsqueaker and 48MPFixQ_170.SophisticatedFatBetafish make it work too ....
thx
I installed the ANXCameraUnity_185.SaltyIntelligentPlainsqueaker.zip and the camera app crash all time. Should I install and the 48MPFixQ_170.SophisticatedFatBetafish.zip?
Thank you for this nice rom, keep walking.

Yes, install the 48 MP Fix to add the 48 MP camera. It's crashing because you need to manually fix the permissions on the app. After you allow everything it'll crash once then work fine.

Not sure I understand what you are saying. The build is joyeuse/curtana unified. I don't like not being able to flash zips without sideloading so I'm using the PBRP recovery. For the initial flash I used my PC and the Lineage Recovery.

Not included. Must be flashed.
Excellent rom, I have used it since its publication, and so far no problem. The performance of the battery seems to me outstanding, and to this day, it is the only one in which an indispensable application for me (Sony Music) works without problem. I hope the excellent work continues, and it even became an official version. Thanks!

Thanks for testing it out.
Unfortunately, I don't have a second sim card to test it with.
I have no problem using the speaker phone at all. Could you grab the logs, maybe I can look into it.
It looks like one-hand mode was removed from Lineage. There are gestures for navigation. It works about 90% of the time for me.
------Edit-------
I tested my phone out with a second sim card today and had no issues. Is anyone else having issues with a second sim card?

The problem occurs when turning on the speakerphone while calling. End of the call without turning off the speakerphone, the next call will easily lose sound. Ratio 1/5. Trying to turn on and off the speakerphone is very easy to reset the device.
Regarding the 2 sim issue: I mean there is no separate button for the 2 sims in the dial pad. Like the dial pad of the EU version, very convenient.
I need one hand mod, too hight with my hand. like picture.

Has anyone tried GSI on the G8 Play?

Just as I asked. I would like to know if anyone has made GSI work or at least tried (like me) to make it work.

Update: It IS possible to install Lineage OS GSI on the G8 Play. However, you will trigger a security error (nothing critical, since your phone will still boot up). To install it, you really need to flash the One Macro Firmware (evidently, your device can hard brick, but it's possible to fix it ). Later, you can flash the Lineage rom through fastboot.
Even though it's possible to install it and even boot it, the rom is buggy. It would be wonderful if anyone who knows better developing than me would work on this device, which has been abandoned for so long...
Some bugs of this rom are:
Fingerprint sensor sometimes triggers volume up or down.
The screen is not well adjusted, picture seems weird.
Dm-verity error which will not allow the phone to boot unless you press the power button again.
Bluetooth audio not working.
I have not tested the rom completely yet. However, I would like to get this forum revived again, with the possibility of "messing up" with the phone. It's not impossible, it just needs some attention
You can flash a blank vbmeta image to disable security error this may help with some issues. good luck and thanks for your contribution to the device forum. (also, sorry for bad english)

I already tried that on the official ROM and it didn't work. I only get a DM-Verity error amd a bootloop when trying to boot Lineage, which can be solved if flashing the stock ROM again.
It's possible install a arm-ab gsi or I need to install one macro arm64 firmware first?

It didn't work for me on stock firmware. Lineage GSI worked for me on One Macro's ROM

Question Android auto

Anybody having issues with android auto? When connected I get black screen. If there's a fix please provide thx in advance
OP9P has known issues with android auto. For some people, setting USB mode to file transfer or PTP helps. Disabling USB debugging can help. Lineage OS and some other non-OOS based ROMs don't have the issue. This is one of the major reasons Im on lineage
For me, AA was working with OOS, but every time I connected the phone to my car via USB, I had to change the connection mode (only charging/file transfer/ptp…) once plugged in to "stabilize" the connection, or else it it would keep connecting/disconnecting.
Now I'm on LineageOS 18.1, and AA was not working but it was a Gapps package flashing problem with Nikgapps (the full package, or flashing the AA addon was needed, but I encounter a flashing problem because of a full memory that can be solved by configuration) .
Once fixed, AA is working but I still have the work-around to do to stabilize the connection.

What configuration change did you make to fit the full nikgapps? I tried changing install partition to /system but it still said it was full and fails

Just that, setting InstallPartition=/system in nikgapps.config and flashing the full nikgapps from twrp.

hmm I wonder if twrp vs lineage recovery makes a difference. And you placed the config file by just using `adb push nikgapps.config /sdcard/NikGapps/nikgapps.config` ?

Also which TWRP are you using? I know there is one in the forums but I remember seeing mention of a different build people were recommending
For me on wireless Android Auto, it's been fine for the most part on latest OOS. Just thought I'd mention.

There was already the config file on my system from installing the basic Nikgapps. I was not authorized to modify it from my file manager in Android (I may have forgotten to try and do it with the root access activated), so I changed it from the file manager of TWRP.
I try to solve my AA problem by different ways before succeeding with the config modification.
I first try to flash the full Nikgapps then only the AA addon with adb sideload on the LineageOS recovery. The install was failing with the full message. The system was still booting, but some Google app where closing unexpectedly.
I then installed TWRP, and try to do the same thing, still failing. I tried to flash mindthegapp but it failed also. Then @iNikhilMenghani (the Nik from Nikgapps) told me on telegram to set the InstallPartition settings, and flashing the full Nikgapps worked.

How do you get wireless Android Auto to work? I try it and it asks me to pair my Bluetooth and nothing happens

Just to be sure, you need a recent car with Wi-Fi that is compatible with AA Wireless. If it's your case, I'll let others help because my car is not compatible with wireless.

My Subaru has Apple Carplay, my friend uses it frequently
Yes, I know that, Subary has had Carplay and AA since the 2017 models. It doesn't have WIRELESS apple carplay. (or Android Auto).
