Series 4 tested apple watch to android initial setup pairing succes - Apple Watch

So i was tinkering an Apple Watch Series 4 44mm and tried to factory reset. then as always it would search for an Iphone for sync. but i used Android with this part. and it did connect. my phone detects it in bluetooth as a device but unfortunately it says "An app is needed to use this device".
Is there a way to write a app to utilize this possibility?
that it would identify apple watch. its identifiers and teether for a connection to apple update servers. or even connect to itunes thru pc or laptop.
also when at initial setup of apple watch. laptop bluetooth pairing was a success. it does pair even at initial setup. i dont know any program that connects the watch to anything.

Hi, the Apple watch only works with an iPhone and not Android. I used untill recently always Fitbit devices, but after the release of the iWatch 6, I switched and also had to switch to an iPhone, whilst I was not an Apple fan at all. But after the release of iOS 14, everything changed Apple wise and now you're able to make your own home screen, just as within Android. Kindest regards kuzibri

Hi now you can Sell Used iWatch Online at very attractive price and get instant cash.

Were you able to make any progress?
I too have an apple watch (2022 ultra) but don't own an iPhone.
I would be willing to code an android app if it is possible

Lumia 900 and Microsoft Sync in FORD Vehicles

Thought I would pass along that the phone does not work with the 2012 Microsoft Ford Sync module when plugged into USB.
It's unfortunate because every other phone works just fine when connected through the USB port to play audio.
I ended up emailing Microsoft about it and sure enough the phone is not compatible with the SYNC platform. Older WP seem to work, just not the Lumia.
Unfortunately my contact at Microsoft suggested using Bluetooth, which would normally be OK except you can't use any of the SYNC features like asking it to play by artist, play list, etc.
Thought I would pass this along for anyone who owns a Ford with the SYNC module and is thinking of getting the Lumia 900.
I had the same problem. Not using Microsoft Sync though. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1607596
I contacted Nokia and they told me the same thing you said. lol
Pretty disappointing that it doesn't work through USB, so I'm back to using my iPhone.

I just found it ironic that a Microsoft Phone didn't work with a Microsoft SYNC module in a car.. Oh well.

This seems unlikely. Here is a blog post from November 2011...
USB. Windows Phone does not yet support USB audio-out, I believe. At least I’ve not gotten it to work. However, I know that Microsoft is using USB audio- and video-out with their own devices, in fact, that’s how they’re doing all of their onstage public demos. This internally developed software is very buggy and it’s not clear what form it will take when it reaches the public, but I’ve been told it’s coming.

Maybe Windows Phone 8 will remedy the situation. I know I had a Windows Mobile phone and I had a usb cable that did video out. I haven't seen anything like that with Windows Phone.
So my theory is Ford sync works fine. Zune players work fine. It's just that Windows Phone doesn't have a stable USB audio out function... yet.
I realize this may not be about USB audio connection, but why not use bluetooth? It works perfectly with Ford Sync. Unless you're vehicle doesn't have bluetooth (thought all SYNC) units had this, it's one less wire to plug/unplug unless you want to charge the phone. In that case, USB connect to USB connector in car (e.g., 2012 Ford Focus SLE). After pairing it shows battery level and signal strength on the car's info panel. Audio paddles on steering wheel control volume, next/last track, and phone commands.
FWIW, first time I attempted pairing it showed as 'headphones'. I turned off WP bluetooth and then on again. This time, the Lumia 900 showed up as "SYNC". Then phonebook uploaded after securing my permission.
Hope this is helpful
Cheers

In general blue tooth sound quality sucks compared to USB audio. Plus it's nice to charge your phone while listening.

This and you also cannot fully utilize the Sync voice ommands to play lists, artists, etc.
I've noticed that some time ago, BUT I DID NOT ANNOY ME AS MUCH AS IT ANNOYS ME after reading this:

Mr. Ballmer,
Hopefully this will get to you. Your team deserves credit for producing an excellent product in the newest version of Windows Phone. Yes, I am writing from my MacBook Pro. And I have been a fairly loyal Apple customer over the years. However, I recently bought a Nokia Lumia 900 and intend on keeping it. For full disclosure, I was sure to make sure it could be returned after a dismal experience with an Android phone.
My reasons for switching are:
bla bla bla blahhhh
Simplicity. My family owns five vehicles, including two Fords with Sync. The 4S didn’t support all functions in any of them. My Nokia 900 was flawless out of the box. It was refreshing to have something that just worked. I cannot afford to have my primary means of communication be a science experiment.
bla bla bla
Best regards,

I guess Scott G. is from another dimension.
Full letter here, it would make any CCCP Commissar proud:

I have a 2012 Mustang GT
I use it with BT and everything seems to play nice. Have not tried to tell it to find an artist or what not but changing songs and pausing seem to work fine.

Did you use USB or bluetooth?
Positive Experience
Drove 1800 miles in 2012 Focus SEL these past two weeks. Bluetooth audio was exceptional (most mp3's are 320 Kbps, WMA's off Zune Music Pass are 192 Kbps). Love how music paused with incoming text, requests permission to read the text, then queries whether to reply or finish. All hands free. Just like phone post phone call, music resumes when task completed. Connected to built-in USB for power charging only. Would really like to see Zune song list transfer to the SYNC and allow voice activated album/playlist/artist search. As it is, I used the shuffle (play music) mode most often.
Couple of notes (for those renting cars with Sync): from menu button, make sure there are no existing devices. Does not sync with multiple phones. Also may want to remove your device from the auto before turning it in.
Nokia drive worked flawlessly driving through 8 East coast states.
YMMV

Pairing the M360 with multiple Android devices

I find it hard to believe I'm the only one who likes my M360 syncing with my tablet when I'm home, and with my smartphone when I'm out. There is actually no official way to pair the M360 with multiple Android devices at the same time, but I have, however, figured out an alternative. I am going to assume that you already have it paired to one device. If not I believe there are other threads out there to help you with that!
Steps:
In the Android Wear official app, tap the watch icon on the translucent black bar atop the screen to disconnect the M360 first
Check to make sure that underneath the name of your device, the status reads "Not connected"
Go to the watch settings, and reset the device, yes unfortunately there is no way around except factory resetting first
Now go through the original instructions upon boot making sure that this time you pair it with your OTHER Android device
Follow the first two steps again after the device has been paired successfully and booted up
Congratulations! The M360 should now pair with the two devices one at a time after being disconnected from one another!
Hope this helped you guys, as this method definitely works for me with my Nexus 7 (flo) and Galaxy SIII (SGH-I747)!
Doesn't work as of now, using a Google Nexus 10 tablet and Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone. Whichever device is paired last works fine. The other device will manage a pairing request just fine after disconnecting the first one, but once that pairing request is approved, it will sit forever on the "Connecting..." status, and never actually connect.
Is this every watch? I use 2 phones every day because my work does not allow camera phones. I think not being to connect to 2 devices at this junction of tech should not be a handicap.
is it possible to install RunKeeper on moto 360 and upload all activity to my profile?

Yes this is an Android Wear limitation, not a Moto 360 one.

I second that opinion. I just learned of this yesterday when I got my Moto 360. I have been using SmartWatch 2 before and figured that Android Wear being so much newer and with more features it would allow me to connect it to multiple devices... well, crap.
Is the situation same even with the new 5.1.1 version of Android Wear? Google *still* doesn't let us connect to multiple devices?
(And iOS doesn't even have the Android Wear app.. you'd think we live 15 years in the past with these stupid limitations...)
No this limitation has not changed.
so do i have to connnect everytime that i leave one device behind within the app? Bc they both wont stay connected its one or the other??

i'm new with smartwatch3

Good evening, I purchased my first smartwatch yesterday, sony smartwatch 3 yellow, but I have still iphone 6 (that soon will change with Android, maybe sony z3+, because i not stand ios, i had android from 2010, but I had the iphone because I liked aesthetically, for me ios is ridiculous ) , I have not turned on, I have to pick it up tonight, until I have iphone i can "connect" with bluetooth ios and android wear? I'd like to have at least notifications on the clock display

You can connect Android wear smart watch to iPhone using this app, but you will have to download it to your Android tablet, Aerlink: Wear Connect for iOS You can get some notifications from the iPhone. I have both iphone 6 and Galaxy S5. You will also need to have installed on your iphone, BLE Utility. Easy to set up and use.

This is the only one I know of, but you can google for other set ups.

Moto 360 2nd Gen WiFi Connectivity to Iphone not available.

So I just pickup a Moto 360 2nd Gen smartwatch 2 days ago. I am currently using an Iphone 5. I was able to get the watch and phone connected through bluetooth perfectly fine as Motorola promise it does work with Apple Phones. However I spent the next day or so trying to look for wifi connectivity on the watch as well as the phone. it is no where to be found. The wifi setting on the Moto 360 is just not there. I try searching online for answers and all comes back to say the watch have a wifi feature which can be set at the setting area within the Moto 360. But regardless of what I did. turning off and on the watch number of times. Factory reset the watch number of times. updated to the latest Android wear OS 5.1.1. it still does not show up. I called Motorola tech support. the rep had a watch on his hand and said there should be a wifi setting in the Moto 360. However I'm certain he is not pair to an iphone. so he ask me to go and return the phone and said there could be a software issue with the watch I have.
I realize with Android wear connecting to an iphone, I will never get the full functionality as connecting to an Android phone. And I'm sure the wifi is one of the feature that will not work, simply because within Android wear app itself, in order for the wifi feature to work with the phone, inside Android wear, you have to turn on CLOUD sync. and Android ware for Iphone does not have the CLOUD sync feature in it. so I figure even if the wifi feature on the Moto 360 2nd gen is there, it won't do any good because of lack of CLOUD sync.
Just to answer some of you ask why I would buy a Android Wear watch instead of an Apple watch since I'm using a Iphone. well, the iphone is just my temporary phone. I have a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, it was sent in for repair. until it come back. i'm using an old Iphone for my Spare.
Hope this help some people when they run into this issue. If you found something I don't know. please let me know. I like to know. thanks
WiFi and Bluetooth settings are disabled/hidden on all Android Wear devices when they connect to and iOS device.

Can not pair with phone after 2.0 update

After the 2.0 update on my Huawei Watch, I had some problems with connectivity so I reset my watch. Now my Phone (Huawei Nexus 6P) can not pair with the phone. The Watch does not show up in Android Wear and my Bluetooth connections. So far I have reset my phone and watch but made zero progress. Anybody else that has encountered this problem?
Same exact situation here, i just got the watch from the B&HPhoto open box deal, paired and worked perfectly with my Nexus 6P. Updated to wear 2.0 and no matter what i try my Google account won't sync. WiFi, Bluetooth connected fine but Google account connection just sits and spins. I kind of like 2.0 better, seems smoother, and don't wanna have to roll back. Any help would be greatly appreciated¡
I had the same problem when updated to AW 2.0.
At the end I had to restore the smartwatch to factory settings a couple of times, and finally the Android wear app was able to find my watch...
Finally got my Google account to sync. All i had to do was clear the data and cache in the apps Google, Google play services, Play store, and Android Wear then reset the watch...... Four or five times. Something the average consumer would think of doing, lol. Get your chit together and fix this Google!!!
