Question No inbound or outbound calls - Nubia Red Magic 6

Does anyone else have this issue with their redmagic 6pro? Sometimes, even if I have a full signal I can't make any calls or receive any. People tell me I'm offline or switched off. Also, the signal quality is really bad compared to my Samsung s10e I have to restart the phone to receive calls again. FYI nothing to do with my sim provider, I'm on a contract.

[Q] Can't receive calls while on 2g

Hello,
I have my phone for few weeks already and today i noticed one major issue. I will try to explain everything as clear as it is possible.
While i am on 3g network, there are no problems at all. I can make a call, i can receive a call, i can receive SMS etc... Everything works as it should be.
When i switch to 2g that's when the problem comes in. In the first 15 seconds after switching to 2g, i can operate my phone as in 3g - i can send and receive calls, i can send and receive SMS'es. After 15 seconds there is no ability to receive any call. The caller alway hears the same song: "the phone you are trying to reach is either turned off or out of radio coverage...". Also no SMS'es can reach my phone. Despite of this, i can send a call any time i want...
There's one thing i've noticed. When i turn my mobile data on - everything works just fine (you should be familiar with turning off mobile data function), but this is unacceptable to my mind. It seems that when i want to receive a call, i should be on 3g (doesn't matter if mobile data is turned off or on), or on 2g but with mobile data turned on...
I did one test - changed the APN's entry to a messy one, and left the mobile data on. Still wasn't able to receive any calls. Thats leads to a statement: while on to 2g, i have to be connected to the internet to receive a call, while on 3g, i can disconnect form the internet and still be able to receive all calls.
Additional info: HTC Desire - unbranded, non-rooted, stock ROM.
Can anyone help me to solve this issue?
It seems this problem only appears at home. At work (15 miles away form home) i can be on 2G and still able to receive incoming calls... Any ideas?

Voicecalls not coming through whenever data is on

Guys
Noticed something funny with my Galaxy Nexus. Calls don't seem to be coming through whenever it is transmitting or receiving data on the 3G. I can still make calls no problem.
My previous phone (the N97) would disengage packet connection (a warning comes up) before the call comes through.
I'm still analysis the data but I am hoping that one of you has experience this before and can offer some insight.
I've done the following test:
1. Wifi and 3G on. Some calls come through, some goes to voicemail.
2. Wifi and 3G on - streaming a video from my NAS box - Some calls come through, some goes to voicemail.
3.Disengaged Wifi and 3G on - Some calls come through, some goes to voicemail.
4.Disengaged Wifi and 3G off (2G only) - Calls comes through fine (when I send text I get the volume bug).
5.Disengaged Wifi and Data on but only on 2G - Calls comes through fine.
In all above instances when the 3G/data is on, I make sure I am transmitting (I synch my hotmail account).
So is this normal (this is my first android phone)? Am I the only one or are there others?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

Which network?
It's certainly not normal behaviour in Gingerbread and earlier at least (still waiting for my GN to be delivered). Even on 3G calls should be able to come through and then if needed decide to switch down to 2G if it decides it's needed.
Have you confirmed that you can actually make and receive call on 3G currently? Might be something wrong with your plan or your SIM.

I'm still testing but it does appear that whenever it's transmitting on 3G (3G or H in the icon) incoming calls go to voicemail.
I just did another test, in the previous tests I was just calling my voicemail service (901) but I decided to call my house phone and here's the strangest thing.
- With the wifi on and 3G I couldn't make any phone calls (apart from the voicemail), the calls just end. I turned off the wifi, tried making a call it works. Then turned on the wifi on again and I can make calls again. How bizarre.
I'm hoping it's a network issue but I won't know until say about a weeks time (if its a network issue it should have been fix within that period). But my first adventure with Android isn't going very well.
Rang O2 and it sounds like an issue with the network . According to them 3G was affect all over the country recently and still have issues in the London area.
I also put my sim back into my N97 and after numerous attempts was able to replicate the fault So happy.
But the customer support suggested that I should still go and get a replacement sim from the shops tomorrow since mine is quite old. From 2009 but still 3G enabled.
So fingers crossed that its def a network issue and not a fluke that it affected my N97.
How will a new SIM be able to work better? I thought, as long as it has 3G, it's all good?
My SIM is from 2008, I guess, so quite "old", as well...

Does SIM age really matter? I've been using the same SIM card since 2005.
I don't know if the age of the SIM matters, but what I do know is after I replaced my old SIM (AT&T) my data got faster (a few phones ago).
It never hurts to use a new SIM. The manufacturers change every few years (gemalto, etc) and I'd bet that newer is better...

Missing calls

I'm getting google voice and email notifications saying that i've missed a call, but my phone never rings. Ive tested it by calling my phone (with full signal bars) and it doesn't ring. The only way to fix it is to make a call using my phone and then i'm able to receive calls.. Has anyone ran into this issue? So far it seems to occur when i'm indoors and have absolutely no reception for a while. Then once i go back out it doesn't reconnect to the network even though it displays full bars? I dunno. I'm on a stock verizon htc one.
I tend to have very poor/no signal in my basement and haven't had an issue yet. I will try and let the phone sit in an area with no signal and see what results I get.

Perhaps you blocked that number. That happens to me when a blocked number calls.

definitely not a blocked number. Called my phone using brother's phone. Phone didnt ring. I then called my voicemail successfully using my phone and then hung up. Called my phone again using my brother's phone and then it started to ring.

H815 UK not receiving or being able to make phone calls after root.

After rooting my H815 (Vodafone UK) throughout most of the day I can't receive or make phone calls, the signal also at times during the day will completely go and I have to restart to get the signal back (which sometimes works) However I can text and use the Internet.
The main problem I've noticed is when I call someone it automatically goes to 3G and works but if it remains on 4G it will say dialing then completely loose signal then when I hang up the signal comes back.
Anyone know a solution to this?

P8000 cannot receive phone calls on 4G - Goes to voicemail everytime

I am having issues with the P8000 phones I have. The phone is taking too long to switch from 4G to 3G when receiving a call so it goes to voicemail everytime. If it is set to 3G only it rings perfectly.
Dialling out also takes an age as because of the long time it takes to switch, but due to there not being a time limit, it does finally dial after about 15-20 seconds.
Has anybody had this happen to theirs and was there a workaround at all? (They are using Telstra in Australia)
Also when you factory reset the phone it clears the IMEI info and you have to enter engineering mode to put them back, is this normal behaviour as I would expect a factory reset to leave the IMEI information untouched.
Hopefully someone can assist me with a workaround.
same thing here...

I'm having similar issue... the only difference is that I do not have 3g since I leave in canada and frequencies don't match.
Anyways, when I set my phone to 2g, I can call and receive calls no issues.
Once I select 4G, I'm able to make calls (after a while since the phones takes it's time to change from 4g to 2g) but I cannot receive... I'm assuming the phone does not know a call is coming since calls use 2d...
Hopefully this can be fixes soon.
Using Eragon room...
update
after a conversation I had with my provider I may have identified the issue...
LTE does not carry over call service (only some provider through voLTE). So, when a receiving call is arriving, the provider sends a signal to the phone (called non assess stratum) that triggers it to change to 3g or 2g to receive the call.
when we want to make the call, the issue does not applies since the phone already knows we are making a call and automatically changes to 2g/3g.
so, will someone be able to help us on how to make sure the phone get the signal from the outside to change network type when an incoming call is arriving?
hope so.
thanks,
For the invalid imei after factory reset (or firmware upgrade), it doesn't happens everytime but it happens often. It's seems to be a problem with all mediatek based phones (it's the case on all my previous mediatek phones(5))
Cheers
I am experiencing the same issue re: no calls coming through when in 4G cause it doesn't switch to 3G in time and it goes to voice mail. (I'm with Telstra - Australia)
Has there been any update on this issue?
