for those still loving Sony Smartwatch 3 - Sony Smartwatch 3

hey guys,
i'm not using my Sony smartwatch but it still works, so i created an enclosure for it , to keep on using it at home !
Sony SmartWatch 3 SWR 50 - HOME Watch by bucefalo
My old Sony SmartWatch 3 SWR 50 wasn't anymore functional for my sport activity but it's still a nice watch and working properly! So i decided to create an enclosure for it and now it's a SPORT WATCH with NOTIFICATIONS for my home ! The enclosure itself is created by 3 parts they combine...
www.thingiverse.com
you can 3d print it , i hope you find it interesting !

I still run latest running apps like ghostracer, lastest google play services and WearOS main app. Most apps on my wearOS 2 watch are in the SW3 as well.
All I needed to do was to quickly ADB install services apk once, and now it auto-updates regularely.

Sony Lifelog on Smartwatch 3?

hello,
have since today my SmartWatch 3 and just can not get the Sony Lifelog app to work!
Actually, I should be able to see things from lifelog directly on the Smartwatch, right?
In the Android app I Wear unfortunately not select which app to display with the steps. Here I have only "fit" to choose from.
But other apps make also problems ... So I'm Endomondo Pro user and can not use functions on the SmartWatch, although Endomondo Android Wear supported ... With the free version it's funny enough. I also tried to uninstall and then reinstall ...
Am I doing something wrong? Otherwise, the Smartwatch- so Whatsapp messages etc. will work properly.
Thanks for your help

The last update offers support for SWR30 smartband (10 days ago). So i guess the next one will be for SWR50...
Well, that's fail on their end, one thing lifelog is not ready to be used with swr50, but they even have following sentence in description:
Description
To best enjoy SmartWear Experience, Sony asks that your device is running Android 4.4; KitKat, has support for Bluetooth®4.0 Low Energy and that you are using Sony SmartWear apparel - SmartBand, SmartBand Talk or SmartWatch 3
Exactly my thoughts, quite a big fail. Also product description on the sonymobile states about synchronise with lifelog after workout. One of the main reasons to replacevthe swr10/sw1 combination with swr50 for me
Just checked lifelog apk and there is no android wear micro app in it, so no doubts we cannot find it on the watch.
I bet band talk was easier as it runs their own software and with sw 3 they will have to re-implement it from scratch (e.g. I hope they will use Google Fit api)
Thats the answer from "Sony Mobile Communications" on my comment in PlayStore about LifeLog support for SWR50:
"Hi Bill. We would advise checking for any new updates available for the application via the Play Store to ensure you have the newest version of the application which is able to be downloaded to your device."
Just ...LOL!
I was amazed when I got my watch loaded up Android Wear and didn't see Lifelog as an option under any of the commands. The app itself makes no mention of it, nor does any instruction manual (not that the watch really had one).
It is crazy though that the advertising on the website, the sticker on the watch itself and the box all mention Lifelog, yet it does not actually work (yet).
I have been pestering @sonyuK on Twitter who told me to ask @SonyXperiagb.
I asked....
why does the Smartwatch 3 not support the Lifelog app as advertised? It's a great watch but this seems like a major oversight

what exactly happens when trying to use the application with the Smartwatch 3?

They clearly have no idea about the products they are marketing.
In 3 days it's the official smartwatch3 launch from sony. So let's cross our fingers and pray...
Its there!!! Spotted in play store
Support for smartwatch 3 is mentioned as new feature...
---------- Post added at 05:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:34 PM ----------
30 minutes later, still dont see any recorded step appearing in lifelog..
Dont get it...seen some crashes on the watch for Fit process....
Might consider full reset of watch atm

Yeah I have updated and it is not detected in Android Wear App as an option for any command, nor is there any option in LifeLog to connect the phone. This is bollocks.

to be honest, i suspect it has to show up on Fit, settings, connected apps or something. However it is empty. When selecting 'all apps' overthere, lifelog does show with some permissions. Just somehow it is not enough to get Fit data into Lifelog....
anyone any ideas?
Yeah, its not syncing for me either. Did anyone have any luck with a reset by any chance?

have to reconsider my statement. After installing runkeerper, it partly confirms my thoughts. It does require to link the apps , but runkeeper shows up as app to start and use on the watch. So with that , the lifelog is not complete as it is now. (did not do a reset yet, thats my next step now )
Today saw an update in play store that says it supports the SSW3... But I don't see it in my sw ?
update today but any app is present on the smartwatch 3
Same here, they should get their act together, this is false advertisement !
task named "lifelog"
On my smartwatch 3 I have "Advanced Wear Task Killer". There is a task named lifelog.
So I think the update changed something but I also dont see any function.
Confirmed that one. But indeed the process doesnt seem to be doing anything
Also changing any setting in lifelog app (seems to new setting btw) changes nothing...

Guys, be sure to update your Moto360 to software version 1.3 before pairing it to iOS. The 1.1 version has critical battery drain problem.
Found this on Reddit written by RobertJP for watchfaces:
First I found one to try LCARS Android Wear Watch Face LCARS Android Wear Watch Face
Then I used the Evozi APK downloader http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/ to get the phone APK
Extracted the APK (like a zip file)
Found the APK meant for the watch (android_wear_micro_apk.apk) in the extractedapk > res > raw folder
Enabled ADB on the watch (Settings > About > tap Build Number I think 7 times which enabled Developer Options)
Swipe back to previous page, Open Developer Options
Tap ADB debugging to enable
Tap Check icon to enable it
You can now type adb shell on your computer which will give you a card on your watch to allow it
Once you have a prompt you can type exit and hit enter to get back to your computers prompt
From there you just type:
adb install /location/of/android_wear_micro_apk.apk
Once it is installed it will say so on the watch and will be available in the watch face selection carousel
I have not be able to get my watch talking with my PC yet after enabling debugging over USB.
Need to find more info.

you cannot at this time
Obviously connecting a moto 360 with adb to a pc is mission impossible due to the iQ connectors... we would need to plug a USB cable to be able to push apk into the watch.
I know users did it already with watch makers faces and the mickey mouse apk but for other watches, I would love to have them on my moto 360 connected to my iPhone....
I always loved the m360 and I have bought my watch because of the new official ios app, I didnt want to buy a watch without official link with my iPhone...
I have to admit that tried the aerlink method with custom watch faces loaded from an Andorid phone and I also saw what the watch can do (as it's very limited so far under iOS) and the only thing I can say is that: HURRY UP GOOGLE!!! to let custom watch face to be installed on the ios APP !! I also hope we will find easy tweaks to push android APK's to the watch...
Is there any development of the iOS wear app? I think it is needed. Aerlink is an alternative meanwhile.

[Q] Moto 360 working with iPhone

Hello to the community. I am sorry if i am posting to the wrong thread. Is it possible to add watchfaces at the Moto 360, but using it with an iPhone?
Yes you can, but it is limited
I think there are 2 ways of adding watch faces: adb installation by cable or installing through another android phone.
first one, installing with adb needs an interface cable, made by yourself to connect the watch to the computer and install watchfaces.
second one, needs an another android phone paired, and your ios phone must be paired with aerlink.
in this way, you can install apps or watchfaces.
First one is very time consuming to make if you do not have made a cable or sth similar to that before, and
second one does not allow you to reply mails, or have some icons of certain applications.

Since I am a new user to xda, I cannot write down the urls, but I think if you search
aerlink for ios on youtube, you may find it.
many of the videos tell you to install aerlink to your watch from android phone, and install an app called BLE Utility from iphone,
but the app called BLE Utility is not on appstore and you have to buy an app called Aerlink from the appstore to use this way
all of the apps can be found by searching aerlink.

Just a quick question

I currently have a SM2 and enjoy a very useful watchface that I was able to completely customize with a huge amount of info produced by the very capable NeonDigit app that was developed by a member on here, it has about 10 individual data
Time/date
Time (other Time zone)
weather
Temp
exchange rate
battery for watch
battery for phone
calls
I also have an app that allows me to control powerAmp player (on the phone) remotely from the watch
All great and very useful
So I was considering buying a SM3 and have a few questions
1. In terms of apps etc is it all mostly Android wear and not SM3 specific
2. Are there custom watch faces like what I mentioned above that I can use on SW3
I just want to make sure that I can do mostly what I do now on SW2 on SW3 - is this all possible ?
I was using Facer time ago, it is awesome and there are a lot of watchfaces that allows you to do this
and about poweramp.. well i think android wear can control any music player, i'm using it to control play music
search for facerepo in google, there are a lot of watch faces
Thanks for the info and quick reply, will keep an eye out for a good deal on SW3
My SW2 is getting a bit old now and the charge/usb cover is long gone - can't find anywhere for a replacement, I think soon enough there is going to be water gets in there forcing me to change anyway lol
Well, the SW3 won't be getting AW2 officially, and the work-in-progress port don't look too promising. So it will eventually be out of date. Just keep that in mind when buying one in 2017.

New faces/software on the Zenwatch? Wear 2.0?

I just inherited a Zenwatch 1 from my brother-in-law, he wasn't using it. When setting it up, I realized I can't get any custom faces to work on it, or any extra software. I have it updated to the latest OS it will run, and it runs Wear OS 1.5, while my phone has 2.0.x. I found a forum post which I linked to below about a way to install Wear OS 2.0 on the Zenwatch 1, but I can't get some of the software I need for it (Zenwatch Manager) and the thread was closed so I don't have a way to ask if I really need that in order to complete the install. I'd rather not find out that I only need it for a crucial step part way through and I just bricked my watch because there's no way to backtrack. Can I hopefully get someone who has some experience with this to lend me a hand? Thanks.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/zenwatch-2/wear-2-development-sparrow-t3581617
I think Zenwatch 1 has no Wear OS 2, it stay in 1.5.
The better way to works with old softwate is to keep ALL old software related to the watch (Old Zenwatch manager used for Wear 1.5, maybe old WearOS phone version, old weather app, old....... I do like this to use my Old Sony SW2, I must keep old Smart Connect, old Wearable Widget App, old Aquamail App.....)
