It totally depends on your head unit and vehicle type.

netgear push2tv ptv3000 vs Galaxy Note 2 Smart Dock

Hi,
I am planning to buy netgear push2tv ptv3000 or Samsung galaxy note 2 smart dock. I am totally confused. what i think is
With Netgear we can connect wirelessly and we only require WIDI. Most of High End models in future will have this support. And use any high-end android phone to connect.
but Note II Smart Dock we have a limitation that it needs a 11 Pin USB.
Whether we can be sure that all the models in future (Atleast in near future) that phones will have
only 11 pin usb?
The price-wise, both are relatively same.
Can someone help me make this decision
Anyone has answer to my question? Please... If it is delayed Smart Dock will be out of stock again....

MirrorLink support in Roms?

Are there any roms that support MirrorLink for integration with car infotainment systems?
I've been happy with stock until now, but have bought a new car with this feature and would like to use it but Asus doesn't seem to support it.
Would also like to use my Appradio 3 with my Zenfone 2...
Any answers?
bump. I would like to know also

Hello

Hello Everybody,
Im new here. One question : I have my LG G4 (H811 T-Mobile), Android 6.0, Kernel 3.10.84
i got OTG cable BobjGear with RJ45 Ethernet Adapter. When I'm using just OTG to connect some Flash drive it works perfect, but when i'm connecting via RJ45, getting lights on RJ45 (green & orange) but don't have ethernet. If LG G4 supports OTG Ethernet?
I dont think it does support otg ethernet. I have a wifi transmitter And it wont work either. I hink its more of a lack of drivers. I also know a otg dvd burner will not work cause android has no dvd drivers. As android has never had the need for them.
Ive used loads of thing on my otg. Now there may be an app to make otg ethernet capable but i dont know if androids gonna ever try it cause ethernet cables are a dying technology
Also for future refrence please post questions in q&a threads. Thank you.

Adding Mirror Link

Is there a way to add mirrorlink to a none-mirrorlink supported device? I have a Pixel XL and had a Nexus 6P before and had a Nexus 5 before, and none of these devices are mirrorlink enabled, is there a way to make them support mirrorlink so I can get them to work in my car?
I'm very interested in getting to know this as well.
Me too.
I don't thimk it can be done. It has something to do with the hardware.
None of the technical info available suggest a hardware based solution.
I have found there is a Pionner app -Pioneer makes the HU for Toyota Aygo and its derivates Citroen C1 and Peugeot 108- that allows using iPhone 4S with the HU, as documented here:

Interesting thing is, this doesn't seem to be Mirrorlink per se, so there are chances that at least Pioneer based Mirrorlink HU can be made to connect to smartphones by other methods.
Hi,
I am looking for skilled developer who could add MirrorLink feature to Lenovo P2 (custom ROM).
According to VW site there are some Lenovo compatible phones with car infotainment, but not P2.
Simply I want this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNlIbFHI6oM
I can donate and pay extra money if you can do that - PM me.

wireless android auto compatibility???

So I'm looking to get a new stereo and wondering if wireless android auto will be available anytime soon. I've read that its going to be in android P and who know when we will get that.
Just looking for info before I waste money buying something I can't use.
I have a Galaxy S9 with a JVC wireless android auto head unit and I can confirm that the S9 does not support android auto wireless at this time. No word from Google or Samsung on the matter either.
Hopefully this is being added with the Android 9.0 Pie update to the Galaxy S9.
