17. Make sure u replaced properly and the file name should b same as before
18. Click on View->Refresh
19. After refresh check if file present or not
20. If the file is present then that's it disconnect you phone from PC .
21. Reboot and play some YouTube videos either u are getting 4g+ or not .
thats it it's that much easy no rocket science nothing .
Disclaimer:-
LTE + depends on various factors like network strength , ur geographical area, traffic on ur area etc etc so keep all things in mind .

FIX for Chevron Connection Errors!

For those having problem with installing Chevron, specifically, the "uh oh" error.
IF METHOD 1 doesnt Work, Try method 2!
TWO METHODS.
METHOD 1:
1. Click the Windows Icon.
2. On the search box, type device manager, click enter
3. Click continue when prompted
4. On the device manager window, find "Portable Devices"
5. Right click on your Leo. Uninstall
6. Unplug your device. if you can find another "Portable Devices" uninstall it also (as it was for my case)
7. Restart PC
8. Plug device again (Do not open Zune software yet)
9. Windows should try to install driver for the device. Click on it. After installing there should be two things in there... the other one is your Leo
ready to use. I can't remember the other one, but I think it is "storage card ready to use"
10. When done correctly. Zune will open up on its own.
11. See the device sync
12. Your free space should appear in the zune software
13. Run Chevron
14. It should open now without the "uh oh" error
Then follow the original instruction on how to install chevron
METHOD 2
1. Have Winphone developer tools installed. Download it for yourself
2. Connect Phone via USB
3. Wait till zune starts and sync completes
4. Verify that zune is not in a guest relationship
5. open a command prompt, type netstat -a to confirm that port 443 is not being used
6. open an admin command prompt, navigate to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ then type notepad hosts and delete any references to
windowsphone developer services
7. go to the settings on the phone and turn airplane mode on (so that the phone is forced to use internet via zune)
8. While the phone is still on the settings page, run Chevron with admin privileges
Attention: if port 443 is used (see on your list) stop IIS or exit Skype program
Hope this helps
both method doesn't work especially the host after deleting as stated save it when open it again still the windows still exist.
but nvr mind i don't have any problem using third party software like register edit etc.
Perefect. i had trouble but option 2 work like a charm! one suggestion, instead of opening an admin command prompt, navigate to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ then type notepad hosts and delete any references to, it is easier to Open up "Notepad" as administrator" Then click on File > Open (in the file name)
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and and delete any references to
windowsphone developer services, you save it and you are done.
for me both of this methods don t work i have 7.0.7394 os version!!!what to do please HEALP!!

Put a space after AT like "AT +" and not "AT+". Rest should be written as above..
I recently found a problem while doing method 1
"This command is not allowed in user build"
So the solution for that is:-
When we are writing
AT+EGMR = 1,7,”IMEI_code”
we have to give a space b/w AT and +
so final command will be like this
AT +EGMR=1,7,"IMEI_code"
Hit thanks if it worked for u

FWIW, this doesn't work on a BLU Vivo 5R running Nougat. Gives the same not allowed error with or without the space.

And just to add on, the terminal commands don't work either. They're accepted without any kind of error, but upon reboot there's still nothing there.
Thanks
It worked perfectly on Lenovo tab 2 a8-50lc, couldn't click thank you button though, its greyed out.
P.s: must have root access. Tried without root gave not allowed in userbuild.

No error message either, but not working also.

How to make offline upgrade "package"

HI all
maybe its wise to start a new thread how to make an offline package for our phones
especially because of these info :
Microsoft begins to block Windows 10 Mobile updates for the majority of Windows phones
https://mspoweruser.com/microsoft-begins-block-windows-10-mobile-updates-majority-windows-phones/
https://mspoweruser.com/only-13-windows-phones-will-get-the-windows-10-creators-update/
My question is :
-how to make an offline install able upgrade/update package for our phones ( fiddler i think )
-how to update the phone with all the cabs downloaded ( uitool.exe ?? )
What i know .. first install old firmware on your phone , install fiddler on your pc and download from your phone thats connected to the fiddler proxy your files.
Can one of you guys make a SIMPLE instruction how to download these CAB files from microsoft ? and how to configure fiddler in this case
The last question ...
What i know ... use uitool.exe to "upload" / install these downloaded cab files ( through fiddler ) on you phone.
Can one of you guys make a SIMPLE instruction how to install these cab files ???
I think i can speak for a lot of people with the same question.
Now i have to google/use xda search to find what i need but all the threads are old an out-dated or have old information.
Many thanks in advance !!!

That's one way:
- you set up a sniffing proxy on your PC (like Fiddler or Paros)
- configure it to record, maybe even save a copy, of the data it passes through
- flash a rom with WDRT to uninstall updates and start from a known and replicable point, configure a network with your proxy ASAP, and just let it download updates to have a list of cabs to redownload (or even the files themselves, again I'm not terribly familiar) on your PC!
OR you can go to the Microsoft Update Catalog with a non-IE browser, search for a W10M update pack (suggested search string: "000-ru") and from there you can get a list of every single cab for the version you selected!
In fact you will find even cabs not applicable to your phone (indeed you've probably heard of this method from the "download continuum/reset protection to unsupported models" topics), plus there may be a sequence to respect (for instance you can't flash RS3 directly from WP8, as some versions - TH2 in this example - add support for new update formats ["servicing stacks", you may have seen in PC updates])

This part is easy: you indeed download iutool (from some "windows sdk" download from Microsoft, or a portable version from some interop unlock topic here on xda), then the command is:
iutool -v -p {path to folder with the update files}
And you wait for the files to be copied (nothing will be obvious on the phone) then it'll just reboot to the usual "update/format progress bar" screen - assuming everything went right! All failures, you'll see on the computer screen, in a not terribly useful way...
Fiddler settings:
Tools > Telerik Fiddler Options > Connections (tab):
- Act as system proxy on startup = off
- Monitor all connections = off
- Allow remote computers to connect = on
Restart Fiddler and allow on firewall; Enable "Stream" button on the toolbar
Flash your phone, turn off all WWAN and privacy-related options during initial setup, don't use a MS account, run to the store and turn off auto updates (all of these to minimize non-update network requests)
Configure wifi to have a proxy at your computer's IP and port 8888 (you could have changed it in the settings above),
Just download the updates from system settings as usual, you'll see the list of requests fill up in Fiddler
[Do not enable File>Capture Traffic, that's for dumping the activity of the same computer that runs Fiddler, despite the name]
Once your phone gets to "preparing to install updates", all have been downloaded: so sort the columns by "Host" and select all requests related to "download.windowsupdate.com"
File > Export Sessions > Selected > Raw Files > select a dump folder and leave all 3 options enabled
The dump folder will open, now you have to flatten it (go inside the subfolders and copy all the files in one single folder; if you have Unix "find" this is easy to automate, but with only 10 folders or so it's not too tedious even by hand)
This single combined folder is now what you can pass to iutool for updating via USB!

Moto E4 Guide To Fix Freedom Mobile Stuck On 3G

This guide is similar to my Moto G5 Plus guide, but is a bit more complicated due to not having a signed image with the correct EFS items.
WARNING: These tools can easily brick your phone, use this entirely at your own risk. Only advanced users should attempt this.
Requirements
Moto E4 Qualcomm version (tested on Verizon XT1767, but should work on all)
QXDM software (specifically, EFS Explorer) and basic knowledge of how to use it
Steps
Ensure you have a working QXDM setup, you can follow this tutorial step 1, then from step 4 until step 9 only
Insert Freedom SIM, boot up phone and ensure it can connect properly
Shut down phone. Hold the volume up and down buttons at the same time while pressing power
Press volume down button until you get to the "BP TOOLS" item, tap the power button once on it
After the phone boots up, start up EFS Explorer from the QXDM suite, connect to the phone (it will show up as "MSM8917" under QPST Configuration). You can do this by selecting the phone from the QPST Configuration screen and going to the "Start Clients" menu item and choosing "EFS Explorer." Choose the same port on the next screen, leaving SPC code as is, and press OK. Refer to the linked tutorial above.
Navigate to nv -> item_files -> wcdma -> rrc. In this folder, right click in the file list on the right hand side, select "Copy Item File from PC" and select each of the files in the attached zip (wcdma_rrc_fast_return_to_lte_after_csfb_timer, wcdma_rrc_fast_return_to_lte_after_csfb, and rrc_b66_plmn_support) and press ok (do this one by one). Ensure "Overwrite Allowed" is selected.
Go to the phone menu -> reset phone. Then reboot your phone.
Proof
Note: If you remove the SIM card you may have to do this over again.
I have implemented this fix and it works great.
Just some tips to save others some time.
1. You do not need USB debugging/Developer options on or the Motorola USB drivers installed.
2. The archive in the linked QXDM/QPST tutorial is no longer available but someone reposted in the last few pages of that thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73160851&postcount=1187
3. If using Windows 10 you must boot your phone into BP Tools mode before you connect to the PC. After connecting the phone under Device Manager you must go to View > Show hidden devices to see the Moto E4 appear 4 times under Other devices.
4. You must force install the HTC driver that came with the archive I talked about in step 2. However to do this you must disable signed driver enforcement in Windows 10. Unfortunately I could not disable this with the command line option so you have to do the following:
Click the Start Start menu and select Settings.
Click Update and Security.
Click on Recovery.
Click Restart now under Advanced Startup.
Click Troubleshoot.
Click Advanced options.
Click Startup Settings.
Click on Restart.
On the Startup Settings screen press 7 or F7 to disable driver signature enforcement.
5. Once Windows 10 boots up connect the phone that booted in BP Tools mode. Once you are in the Device Manager > Other devices you will update the driver of the 2nd instance of Moto E4 in the list of 4.
6. After installing the HTC driver you should see the HTC Modem appear under Modems in Device manager. Right click > Properties and get the COM port of the HTC modem to use with QPST.
Hope this helps someone.
