LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:
Follow the instructions on the wiki page for your device https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#samsung
Only the provided lineage recovery will be supported, using TWRP might result in a possible data loss!
Note: You may use Odin instead of Heimdall, for this you will need to rename the recovery image to recovery.img and pack it into a tar archive.

Good job! Let's take first place

my safetynet fails, is there any way to make it pass? s10 exynos

To update the device (from your previous unofficial ROM) - are that the same steps as described here?
----
Some note about OTA update of this ROM. This is fairly easy (only italic steps below).
But I am using Magisk/microg - with that some additional steps are required - all is listed below. Don't be afraid, it is done in less than 5 minutes.
* Make sure your firewall allows the "Updater"
* If you uses Magisk, download the apk and rename it to zip and put it to SDcard (otherwise a PC is needed for sideload - see below)
* Go to Settings/System/Extended/Updater
* Search for update and download
* I recommend disable data traffic now until the FW-update is completed and microG/firewall is operational again, otherwise your system might be open for some time.
* start update
Device will boot into recovery and does the upgrade. It seems that the update is not completely finished in case of Magisk is installed. In this case force a restart by "Vol- + Power" for a few seconds if update hangs at around 95% (can bee roughly seen in the timeline)
* After update has finished: boot again to recovery
* Now Either
a) just do the update with already downloaded Magisk.zip (Apply Update/Update from SD_card) or
b) Enable ADB sideload by Apply Update/Apply from ADB and do an adb sideload from PC of Magisk.apk or zip (no matter here)
* boot into system
* in case of microG check (and give if required) microG give all the required permissions
* If all is set and done you can enable data connection again
On thing I was thinking about:
There are is one module needed for spoofing (spoof_AVDapi30). I found that an update of it is not required. Not sure whether this will be the case for other updates of 18.1 too, but keep an eye on it.

thanks man ill give this a shot
edit;; can confirm that this is working. thanks alot man!
linux4, its a great looking rom btw thanks for the hard work. During the first time i ran recovery, i saw there was an option to run an update through internal storage. but the second time i went to recovery it was gone. Does the update through internal storage work? and why did it disappear when i entered recovery for the second time.

Hello
What exactly is working and what does not work or do not act at highest quality? Can the camera be performed on maximum quality? I bought this cell phone (S10e) a short time ago, I'm waiting to arrive. The installation of the LineageOS can break his system? Well, as is my first Custom Room, I have some doubts.

Can someone confirm that the hotspot works (best S10+)?

/data is encrypted so no there's no way to install something from internal storage, either update via sideload, from external sdcard or OTG (If you're just talking about OS update you'll get them via OTA anyways, so what I said only applies to e.g magisk)

It has SElinux? If you could post what's working, what's not and what's not optimal, would be a great help. I'm just waiting to have a notion of things and test.

Hotspot is working on S10+ (and i think on other models too)

Works great so far. Seems I can even use bankings apps, after unrooting again. I initially rooted to restore backups using TitaniumBackup but then removed magisk using the internal uninstaller (checked "remove completely"). DKB, comdirekt and TK work so far.
EDIT: hotspot works on s10e

How to make Voice Match (OK Google hot word) working?
it is not available right now

s10e - August SP when? The current and only release in LOS was on 5th Aug but has July Security Patch!
Edit:
Aug SP was released on 2nd Aug https://source.android.com/security/bulletin

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ THIS
This is a ROM built from source and not a GSI!
Fix Camera stretch & force close for some camera apps
You can do it editing /vendor/build.prop file using MiXplorer (you’ll need ROOT).
Search for the line “vendor.camera.hal1.packagelist”
After the = are the name of different apps. Delete one of these and put the package name of the app that you want to fix. For example, com.facebook.orca is the Facebook package name.
Per default, the ROM comes with Whatsapp, ZOOM, Snapchat and Instagram added. Maximum 4 Apps are allowed in this line and must be separated by comma ",".
If you don’t understand, open this link to see visual steps.
Fix Camera stuck
Sometimes, the camera can get inaccessible if an app has crashed. If it happen, follow this:
Install this app. Open it and tap "Kill camera", then give it ROOT permissions. Done! Camera is working again.
Take in mind that if the camera is broken and you didn't do this, the audio in calls maybe not work.
GCam
This ROM can run GCam. Download a modded version for Exynos HERE. Thanks to Leonardo Estacio for his mod.
Games: this ROM works so good for gaming and can run ARM64 apps/games. If you feel lags, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Saver and performance > Performance Profile and set it to High Performance.
For close, i want to give a huge thanks to @Astrako - Without him this ROM haven't be possible <3

I can´t even install the repartitioner, so Do I have to wipe everything you´ve said first too?
I´m coming from the stock rom, by the way.
How to remove (x) in signal bar?
Please see SS. Thanks.
Hi all. Mostly everything i tested so far works OK. Even cameras (front and back).
but i do have problem with sim cards not being detected. In settings i cant see IMEI and on each "sim status" i see "not available".
i have tried restoring Modem and EFS backup, with no lock. Modem backup restores ok, EFS fails. After sim cards still aren't detected.
Any idea what i can do to fix this?
I'm testing this on SM-J730F/DS with or without gapps.
----
EDIT: i fixed it by flashing latest stock room bootlader and modem (BL and CP). Following this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-j730x-8-x-and-9-x-and-upgrade-bootloader-and-modem.3883139/

Installing LineageOS for the first time
Flash lineage recovery
Only the provided lineage recovery will be supported,
using TWRP might result in a possible data loss!!
If using Odin rename the lineage recovery image for your model to recovery.img and add it to a .tar archive using e.g 7zip.
If using Heimdall use: heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img --no-reboot
Boot lineage recovery
IMPORTANT: Do not boot into system again before booting recovery, or system will restore stock recovery!
If using Odin untick auto-reboot before flashing.
After flashing reboot by pressing Volume Down and Power for approximately 7 seconds,
immediately hold Volume Up, Bixby and Power to boot recovery
IMPORTANT: As of OneUI 3 your device needs to be connected to a PC via USB cable in order to be able to
boot recovery via Volume Up, Bixby and Power.
Factory reset using Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset
Warning: Unlike TWRP this will also erase internal storage!
Sideload LineageOS by enabling sideload via Apply Update -> Apply from ADB
Then run adb sideload <path to your lineage.zip> on your PC
Optional:
Sideload GApps and Lygisk by repeating above step
with their zip/apk
Magisk
As this ROM has a working ramdisk sideloading the magisk apk is enough, just as it is
on every other device, no bootimage with magisk included or installing to recovery is needed!
I also strongly recommend to use Lygisk instead,
which is a fork of Magisk that aims to improve support for devices with FBE that can't (and shouldn't anyways!) decrypt userdata in recovery,
this will also fix OTAs getting stuck while having installed Magisk.
Features
SELinux enforcing
AES-256-XTS FBE encryption
Latest Linux 4.14.x kernel
All cameras are working
Ramdisk is working
Known issues
VoLTE/VoWiFi
You tell me
Good job as usual!! So live display and natural (sRGB) profile doesn't work yet?
Hi @Linux4 ,
ROM boots fine, was a little put off by the change back to nice old lineage recovery style. Two issue I have encountered:
- /sdcard won't mount in recovery so I have to sideload
- I can't skip signature verification so no gapps install right now (I have tried bitGapps but to no avail either)
ROM boots unbelievably fast

@Linux4 , great work, thanks a lot!
I was wondering about firmware updates. Do they come with lineageos updates or do we need to update/flash firmware still manually?
Apologies but I don't know how to do logcats, as I am new to this. However I experienced flickering once I use google maps. Also, there is this instance that the banking app I use treats the phone as emulator and not an actual device. And during login in mobile legends, gboard or the built in android aosp keyboard does not pop up whenever I try to tap the field to login my credentials.
So far, these are the things that I encountered. Other than that rom is great and smooth

Hi Colleagues
everything is fine for me on this room, I don't know how to send logs, the only issue what I see just like comment.
1. Google Maps has a zoom in on A12, this also happens with other ports.
2. at least for me the audio in calls through Bluetooth, don't work it sound like a robot, in both versions, in both apps of Google Phone and on Lineage Phone app.
The rest it is working fine, just I miss advanced restart for don't make always the key combinations hehehehe.

Thanks alot for your hard work..
Is it just me or the in-call speaker voice is so low at high-level in every AOSP rom in comparison to stock?

Second one will be fixed later during 19.0 bringup (lineage had some patch for that which isn't in 19.0 yet)
Also advanced reboot is a lineage feature so that's why it's not there yet.
It's more or less plain AOSP at the moment

Reboot to bootloader
Wipe userdata for initial install (fastboot format userdata)
Fastboot into TWRP recovery (fastboot boot twrp.img)
Flash the latest build of Lineage OS
Reboot to bootloader and fastboot TWRP again
(Optional) Flash gapps of choice (MindTheGapps are recommended)
Reboot to system and don't install the TWRP app
(Optional) Flash custom kernel / TWRP / Magisk
A more detailed installation guide can be found on the wiki.
Updates
Simply repeat steps 4 - 7. You shouldn't need to flash factory images as all partitions (firmware, vendor etc.) are updated with the lineage zip.

Yes, and Wi-Fi Calling.
Hey, I downloaded and installed. Everything so far is working perfectly! Thanks so much.
Y'all add the lockscreen album art like in pixel dust rom
Can we use bank apps and office apps ? How to install magisk after flashing this rom? Cab we follow voenabler to enable volte ?
Big thanks first to the developer..Keen to try out this rom, I see the rom zip can be installed like a normal zip and it will repartition the phone, my query is does the repartition allow for downgrade to Android 11 just in case? Or do we need to change the partitions again?

LOS devs generally dont add extras like that....usually they like to keep it strictly LOS
Is there android 12 icon customization ?

Maybe one question at a time next time?
You can install magisk same as on any ROM - generally this is the most common way :
Installation
The Magic Mask for Android
topjohnwu.github.io
Assuming you pass safetynet after magisk install then depending on banking app you should be able to use it (some banks require more steps to avoid root detection, and a few cannot be beaten. I cant say for sure even knowing your bank, because it all depends on your setup....anything root, or beyond is a try and see proposition - no point asking others as they dont have your device or perhaps use the apps you do. If you want certainty, youre in the wrong place, and should stick to stock....any change in ROM or magisk or on Google back end could end in failure one month to the next.
If you have queries regarding magisk, how to install or how to pass safetynet or try and avodi root detection by apps (including bank), then your questions are *usually* best served asked and answered in the magisk support thread:
Magisk General Support / Discussion
This is the place for general support and discussion regarding "Public Releases", which includes both stable and beta releases. All information, including troubleshoot guides and notes, are in the Announcement Thread
forum.xda-developers.com
In the main magisk topics list, you may find articles relating to specific bank apps:
Magisk
Magisk - The Universal Systemless Interface, to create an altered mask of the system without changing the system itself.
forum.xda-developers.com
Can you try voenabler?...sure you can try any magisk module, if it doesnt work, uninstall it, thats the beauty of it, its reversible....
as always your best bet for any help is to use the search box at top right of screen before posting a new question, its free and it avoids asking the same questions over and over...all the above could have been found via searching...

Noted.Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Thanks for the rom
This seems to install fine but LTE data is laggy at times, very different. Will work fine one minute, then no internet the next 80% signal.
The touch sensor seems a bit out of whack at times as well, but mostly works.
The device is not play store certified. Not able to register android ID after 2 attempts.
On the wiki it states to adb sideload the zip but in your post it says to use twrp. I used twrp but not the sideload function, would that cause my device to not certify?
Perhaps the only glitch I ran into as of right now was because I tried using Flame GApps for Android 12 instead of MindTheGApps. The Google Assistant add-on package for that "brand" of GApps wouldn't allow voice match to function, claiming it was unavailable for the device. I'd love to install the Flame GApps full package over the MindTheGApps package, but I know it won't work.
Naturally, as this is an early build the advanced restart menu and the ability to remove the Android 12 pill in gesture navigation is missing, but the former is easily worked around using the app "Simple Reboot" and the latter I can live with can be removed using a Magisk module.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
DO NOT Report bugs if you're using TWRP
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

After flashing reboot by pressing Volume Down and Power for approximately 7 seconds,
immediately hold Volume Up and Power to boot recovery
IMPORTANT: As of OneUI 3 your device needs to be connected to a PC via USB cable in order to be able to
boot recovery via Volume Up and Power.
Optional:
Sideload GApps and magisk by repeating above step
with their zip/apk
Known issues:
VoLTE/VoWiFi
Google maps
Firmware upgrade instructions:
Get the latest firmware for your device here
Follow the provided instruction for flashing with Heimdall
Gonna try this out later. Nice!
Looks awesome!
NOTE: z3s (Galaxy s20 ultra) and y2s (galaxy s20 plus) builds are still uploading, hold tight
Nice ! Thank you so much for the great work and effort put into this
Two questions:
1. Is 5G working as it is not anymore in the "known issues" section ?
2. When using the latest S firmware is a dirty flash from LOS 18.1 possible ?
Cheers !

I am not sure about 5G as i only have a 4G device. Otherwise the devices are same
about 2. Dirty flashing could Theoretically work but i really cannot guarantee it. You can always try updating only the firmware for your device by going here https://github.com/Linux4/firmware-update/releases and finding your device and flashing everything with heimdall with the provided command, then try dirty flashing without wiping.
All three builds are uploaded now, enjoy!
Exelent ROM for people like me that dislike oneui and all its bloatware. Beside that this rom work so mutch better then the current oneui4 that feels slow and sluggish compared with los12.

Thanks again to the team for your work.
I'm on G980FXXSCDUJ5 (S20 4G - x1s).
I was trying to upgrade to latest firmware G980FXXSCEUL9 before to load your 'lineage-19.0-20220111-UNOFFICIAL-x1s' but I have a problem.
According to me, two firmwares on your GitHub link are not corresponding to their designation:
-firmware-SM-G980F-G980FXXSCEUL9
-firmware-SM-G980F-G980FXXSCEUL7
(after download, sha256 hash controls are ok)
I've flashed these firmwares and the result for both is:
-G980FXXUCEUL6
-bootloader relocked
-On Download Mode screen, additional Japanese texts appear
I loaded back G980FXXSCDUJ5 from my datas.
Can you have a look ?
Thanks

AES-256-XTS FBE encryption

unfortunately, you cannot have both on the AOSP system, you install gaaps for Google services, and you cannot run Samsung applications on AOSP or a pure Android system
