Battery usage patter here in Moto G 40 Fusion is very confusing. As U can see it clearly that the Device got charged fully (100%) 5 days ago & it's giving a usage pattern of total 5 days as a whole. Is it normal?? I mean I have had my experience with Moto E, Moto Z2 play but didn't face such wired issue.
So my queries are as follows;
How can I get refreshed usage pattern after every recharge cycle?
Is it still calibrating? Do I need to wait for 1-2 more weeks to have a meaningful usage pattern?
How do I know of those Apps & Settings, using battery after every recharge cycle?
Is it some kind of bug or Android 11/ Moto G limitations?
If everything's normal then why do we need such meaningless & useless battery usage status?
Need help.

Sorry I didn't understand....
Are U telling me to charge my phone to 100% ??
I don't charge phone to 100% only to preserve battery life. 80-85% charging is enough to give me a full day battery back up but here comes the main issue. Charging to 85% won't trigger a refreshed app list (battery usage list). Refreshed battery usage mean a fresh list of apps consuming battery after every recharge. I hope now u'll get my point.
Otherwise u won't be able to find which apps n settings are taking the battery juice within a charging cycle, no matter if u charge it to 40%, 80% or more, U must know ur usage pattern.

Yes, it (moto g40 Fusion) resets at 90%. I accidentally discovered it today at afternoon but thank U anyway, Sigma1024.
I raised the same quarry in Official Motorola community forum & they even told me that it would reset at 100%. What a community support!!!!

I have another feature for you to be discovered
It works at night hours only (anytime after 10:00 pm I guess)
ENABLE "battery overcharge protection" and "optimized charging" from Battery settings
Set an alarm for the morning
a few minutes later
Plugin the phone to charging
You will receive a notification that your mobile will be charged to 100 % by the time alarm wakes you up

You'll have 80% charge left after the drain and keep on draining based on app usage.

[Q] Strange battery issue [SOLVED]

I bought my HTC One X on 3rd April and did a full charge (100%) on day one. I think it took around 3 hours for the battery to get fully charged.
Since then the battery has been performing pretty well, giving me around 10 hours of no-charge time, with screen set at auto brightness, 3G and auto-sync ON, and nominal usage.
My charging cycle:
1) My phone battery is below 20% when I wake up, so I charge my phone in the morning before leaving for office, for almost 1 hour; this gives me a battery level of around 40%
2) With no charging on my way to office (which is a 15 minute drive from my place), I plug the phone to a wall charger on reaching office till the battery reaches 100%; this takes around 2 hours to complete; sometimes when I have to go for meetings and all, I pull out the charger and resume the charging once I'm back on my desk
3) I don't charge the phone again during the day
The problem:
Today in the morning, the battery showed a 2% level. (and I wasnt surprised because I watched some youtube videos before sleeping yesterday night and the battery level was 20% back then)
I plugged it in a wall charger; after a while I notice a message on the screen...something like: 'Your phone is using more power than being supplied by charger. Please close some applications blah blah' So I flicked-off a couple of 'Recent Apps'. The battery still read 2%
After 1 hour, I saw the battery had reached 4% only; so I thought I better power off my phone and let the phone charge with no power being consumed.
But to my surprise, when I turned on the phone after 1 hour.....the battery still read 4%!!!
My phone's constantly plugged in since morning (8 am) and till now, (10.30 pm) the battery has reached 40% level only, with no phone usage at all.
One clear problem: The phone is not getting charged while it is off (although the red LED is glowing). And the battery level is taking ages to go up.
I'm using the stock ROM, no rooting.
Is there anyone who has faced anything similar.
I would also like to know is there any graphic or some symbol on the screen when you try to charge the phone while it is turned OFF?? My phone only shows the red LED glowing.
Please help.
Unfortunately there is no way of monitoring how much your phone is charging while off... I remember I've had a battery drain once and it only charged 20% in like 4hrs, which is not as bad as the problem you have, but still not ok.
What I did was: hard shutdown (holding down the power button) the boot, turned off normally and plugged it in while off. It took another 3hrs for the green led to show up (was at about 40%), but I gave it one more hour to make sure it's really 100%. That fixed the issue for me.
Anyway, if your phone doesn't charge when off, there's definitely something wrong and you should return it...
Even though LiPoly batteries are supposed to have no memory effect, it's recommended you charge it to 100% and use it to about 8% for the first couple if circles. Did you do that?
If you were rooted I'd recommend to wipe battery stats, but I guess that's not an option as you might want to return it...
EDIT: could you post a screenshot of the battery graph? (Settings->Power->Usage)
Thanks a lot buddy

Hard shutdown worked!!!
I just did as you suggested...and it worked...my battery shows 80% level now...plugging it for charging now...would keep you posted on the progress ...
Now I realise where the problem was...
On the battery usage screen , it showed "18 hours on battery"...whereas it was being charged ...I think the battery usage app/function was stuck...
Thanks again

I'm not sure why, but I only see a little black box when opening your screenshot.
The battery app isn't literally stuck. That happens when you:
turn off your phone -> charge it -> unplug it -> boot it.
Another reboot will usually solve this problem.
HOX drains more than charger is giving
I think it will be a good place to post it. Last week I was testing GPS on HOX. I was very disappointed when I saw that my battery is draining despite of connected car charger ( some kind of cheap chinese usb chargers ). My settings Autobrightness ON, Autosync ON, Data 3G ON on AHRD 5.1. Oh and I was testing Google Navigation. Does anyone have similar problem? I don't know if it is fault charger or HOX need so much energy when navigating.

It happens with most of us. Because, the screen takes more power sometimes more than the power provided by a car charger. Reduce the brightness of screen instead of AUTO brightness. It should help.

I'd say your battery life is pretty poor.
My battery is a little bit better. I don't have any screen shots right now, but it's usually around 3 - 3.5 hours on screen. Around 7-8 hours battery usage total.

Try downloading Gsam or watchdog from the playstore. Watchdog will tell you if there's a rogue app draining your battery and Gsam will tell you what's taking up the most power.
let your phone do a 3-4 recharge discharge cycles..then it would stabilize.

what is a recharge discharge?
charge it to 100% then let it discharge(1 cycle of rechrge of discharge) although there maybe a better word to represent that(noob in complex english )..

With 2 hours screen on time over an 8 hour period and your steady curve on that graph, I would say you have some app, or some service eating CPU cycles constantly (these are called wake locks)...
Do this:
Download an app called CPU spy
Charge your device all the way
Pull it off charger
Open CPU spy
Then just hit the back button to close it.
Let your device sit for about a half hour. Don't touch it as much as possible. Leave the screen off.
Open CPU spy... post a picture of what your CPU stats say according to that app. Majority of your times should be in deep sleep mode.
Also, your battery shouldn't drain anymore than 1 to 1.5% each hour at idle. Unless you live in an area where there is poor reception (scanning for signal chews it up as well).
EDIT** ALSO...is your screen brightness on auto or is it manually adjusted a little brighter? If it on auto, then your battery life according to those graphs is absolutely awful. I have mine set pretty bright and I still see about 3 hours of screen on time

Give it a few hours of "normal" use and then come back here with a Betterbatterystats screen shot with Partial Wakelocks/Since Unplugged and Processes/Since Unplugged. That way we can see what is eating your battery. With only 4% gone, we can't see anything (too small of a window). Make sure you don't plug it in and use normally.
I have seen your other posts and I am wondering what it is that you really want out of your battery. If you think that you can get 3-4 days out of a charge, that is not going to happen. 1.5-2 days is a reasonable expectation and I think that you can get that, but you have to look at your usage habits. No kernel is going to fix that. No ROM is either.
If you are polling notifications (Facebook, G+. Twitter) or Google Locations (Maps, some app that requires location) or believe it or not using the XDA/Tapatalk app a bunch, then those will drain your battery quite fast. I use the Tapatalk app quite a bit and that and Google Now are my #1/2 battery drainers. Could I get rid of Google Now? Sure. It is more of a novelty at this point. I still get 1 -2 days of charge on my phone wihtout worrying about where a plug is.
Like I said, come back at the end of the day or tomorrow morning and post the Partial Wakelocks/Since Unplugged and Processes/Since Unplugged and we'll see what is draining your battery.
Another thing to note is that it seems your mobile network is typically pretty patchy. This can really drain your battery too.
I've been chasing wakelocks since I got my device and think I'm at a pretty good place. I get 2.5-3hrs of screen on time (about 20% screen brightness) across about 25hrs of standby time. Does anyone else get a lot of mmc1_detect and mmc0_detect wakelocks?
thanks woodrube. I will post my stats at the end of the day. I don't have a facebook or google + or any app that have notifications or updates by itself. I have the screen set to 20% brightness

Battery Life

Guys, im using Enchanced 2.3.6 with adrenaline engine, and , in 5 minutes playing "Parking Challenge" , battery went from 80 to 20.
Is that normal ?
Battery just lasts not even a full day ... without using wi-fi ...
thanks,

That's not normal. You need to calibrate the battery. There is several ways to do that. 1. Fully discharge the phone and then let it charge to 100% without break. 2. Use Die-Hard Battery Calibrator (search it).

Did you use it 4 hours with the screen on? The battery stats understandable if you have done that, but otherwise I would recommend you to buy a new battery.
BTW: 1. Have you installed some tweaks? Try to reinstall the ROM. 2. Maybe the game you told us before is using 100 % cpu both when it being used and when the screen is off. Check that with CPU Spy.
I have almost the same problems as you. The phone discharges 40% in like 10 minutes when playing a low graphics game or browsing web. But for me it freezes at a value. For ex: the battery goes from 80% to 40% in 10 minutes than stops at 40% for 20 minutes and so on. I am using Oldroid's CM10.1. I've just reflashed it. And this is my second battery.

I've got a similar problem. I've installed Jelly Bread v3.5.1 by saldymhmd and Alfisyahrien. I charge the battery until it is 100% charged, then when unplugged it lasts about 30 minutes before the rom shuts down because of the 'low battery status', but if I plug the charger just after that, the battery indicator shows that it is about 85-90% charged, but if I unplug it and turn the phone on, rom still says the batery is low. I tried to wipe battery stats and to calibrate battery using the option in CM settings, but with no avail. Any ideas how to fix the problem? Would the Die-Hard Battery Calibrator fix this?

I am stock rooted
This battery drain is so pathetic, please help me out on this one guys.
I charged to 100%, then played games for like 50 minutes, Plants Vs zombies for around 32 minutes and Kingdom rush for the remaining.
Charge became 84% , not sure if this one is to be expected.
But the main issue was the drain during screen off, i went to sleep when the charge was 84% and the device was screen off for almost 8 hours,
I woke up and checked, now its 66% ???? . really around 18% drain during a 8 hour screen off window
This is so lame, i checked the battery usage, nothing seems out of the ordinary, yes WIFI was On the whole time, is that the reason..
Does the notifications cause battery drain?, i had received some mails and t-mobile my account crap had sent some notification and LED was glowing all along.
i moved from note 1 only because of the stupid drain during screen off, its annoying , i know we can switch off WIFI, data, restart the device and use some app to reduce the drain, but i thought the battery will be good out of the box with Note 3, this feels the same like my note, no difference, something is messed up.
Any help is appreciated sorry for my bad English.
that idle drain seems very excessive. I lose like maybe 1% overnight. have you managed your accounts and only sync the necessary things? that could be a big drain.
Yes thats very excessive , thats why i am losing it, i did check for syncing, apparently nothing was running overnight.
Could be because i have only one point in the network signal? , not sure, i did check on the Cell standby it said "Time withou signal 0%"
i never had 1% drain overnight , would be nice if i can find out a way to make it work for me as well.
Call me strange, but if i am going to be sleeping, I plug it in. When I wake up even with just a nap the phone is fully charged.
i do too.. but i want to check the battery drain during sleep, often when traveling, i wont even use the phone but it would have drained , that's why i am checking how bad the drain is and the ways to fix it.
not sure you need these setting enable or not, but try uncheck all in Location Services under Setting.
Maybe you should start with basics and see what have you changed, since this drain begin?
For example I was trouble shooting WiFi calling and followed one of suggestions to shut down WiFi power save in service menu. It didn't work (updating router FW did the trick) and I forgot about it, but then I realized my phone was discharging 20% overnight (yeah, I charge when come home from work, by the time I go sleep phone is fully charged) and this was way too much. To make long story short, once I put WiFi save mode back on, I get 3% discharge overnight as it should be. The problem with such high discharge rate was that the phone barely lasted a day of light use and if I forgot to charge it night before it would be dead before morning. It also kills battery to have it fully charged daily, battery will lasts much longer if the charge is light (80% to 100% for example.)
Yup, i think it was this Wifi power save option in the service menu, i had switched this off and forgotten about it. thanks for reminding me .
i will check tonight as well.
Bad thing about this setting is, its very hard to pinpoint if you had forgotten about changing this setting, it wont show up in any of the battery usage app.
Go into wifi, hit menu and go into advanced settings. Uncheck wifi always scanning.

Those 2 games kill battery like a mutha, even if you kill the screen. I always use androids built in task killer by holding home button for a few seconds and killing battery hogging apps like those. If i do decide to end up installing those again and playing them i can expect shorter battery life for sure. Ever since i stopped gaming on my phone less and just game on my 360,ps3 and now wii u(kids got 1 for xmas, mario 3d world is addicting lol) ive seen huge boost in battery life and light to normal battery consumption on common sense settings for our phones.

Yeah idk I barely use my phone and still only get about 12 hours out of my phone. I think 4.3 just doesn't like our battery hopefully 4.4 is better.

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the OnePlus 3T's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I think MM is good in general, but so far so good. I only lose 1 to 3% overnight.
I have plenty of battery drain overnight, mostly the Android system, Android OS and Google services.
I've had the phone for 2 days now and overnight battery drain is around 5%, but the real problem is that Android System takes up around 30% of my battery.
in 8h night (standby) i get 1-2% drain.
wifi, sync enabled.
if you get major drain, then its something on your setup causing it.
its always like that. (except something is broken on hardware side)
OxygenOS 3.5.1. - 1-2% battery drain;
OxygenOS 3.5.3. - 0% battery drain (in one scenario phone was left to [email protected]% (took off the charger and it drained 0% in 4 hour sleep period and in the other scenario the phone was left @53% to sleep and it drained 0% in 8 hour sleep period)
more info can be found here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/battery-life-sd821-400mah-t3505786
My experience is that the phone is better than average for sleep drain, just ~1-2 % with stock kernel. With Tyranus kernel v12 by @mdalexca, I'm not seeing any drain overnight at all. Battery life on medium usage looks to be a few days at least. (Yeah, I'm a light user aside from my first week with a new phone where I nearly wear it out ;)
Using Nova Launcher ...experiencing battery drain 3~4% overnight (5-7 hours) with WiFi off. But during the day, WiFi on, not even touching phone and it goes down 10% in an hour and a half. Battery reports Android System as the culprit. Any suggestions guys?

Sorry, couldn't resist.
I got pretty good standby last night. Some nights don't give me near as good standby, so it's quite inconsistent.

Using Nova Launcher ...experiencing battery drain 3~4% overnight (5-7 hours) with WiFi off. But during the day, WiFi on, not even touching phone and it goes down 10% in an hour and a half. Battery reports Android System as the culprit. Any suggestions guys?

Hows your deep sleep, working ok? Even if it shows Android system, it could be some app which isnt working correctly.
I got someone here with one plus 3 non t version (I got t, same problem like you) and is just flashed Chinese version of one plus 3 on his phone and zero drain but bare in mind the Chinese version doesn't got Google services at all , no play store and stuff , is saying is got more juice now , but I am just thinking you will need to install Google services for YouTube and stuff . Hmmm just saying Google battery hog .
For now I am waiting for developers to receive their phone . I just can't wait for many custom ROMs
using stock Oxygen with BT/Wifi on, 2 push accounts with 4-5% drain overnight

How do I check the deep sleep? I just went back to the shop and idk what they did but they said they ran a software check(?) And asked me to try the phone again for a day. Surprisingly overnight with wifi off only went down 1℅ (but this was on oneplus launcher) but then during the day it drained as fast as previous. But now the batt reports show first Android OS, Cell standby and then Android system....

I'm not sure is it possible to check it without the root, but if you are rooted, then BetterBatteryStats is quite handy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats&hl=en

Yeah that apps requires root...thanks anyway
I have the MBA bug. I see a lot of people avoid it by staying on WiFi but I can't. Result is rapid battery drain.
I'm still getting reasonable battery though if I remember to toggle airplane mode. Device sleeps well enough. Almost perfect awake to screen on ratio.

I have plenty of battery drain overnight, mostly the Android system, Android OS and Google services.

Looks like OnePlus isn't bothered to fix this bug.

why don't you disable wifi/bt scanning and disable facebook/messenger notificationn?
oneplus is actually well optimized and drain is about 4% overnight

Wifi scanning and bluetooth is already disabled, and facebook isn't installed. This same issue exists in Oneplus 3 and Oneplus is not bothered to fix it.
