Hi guys, I will receive 9pro soon, I think it ship with Chinese version color OS. But Im confused which rom version need to switch.
Here's is the question.
A)I live in hong Kong, Which region rom better ?eu?us?india?
B) what kind of step do I need to flash? Please correct me if wrong.
1.run coloros to oxygenos APK.
2.download India rom on root directory and flash manually
3.flash updated eu or us rom

Since I live in China, the Oneplus 5t is delivered with H2 OS in it, which mean without any google apps and with a launcher far as good as O2 OS.
Is it possible to install O2 OS in a Chinese phone? And how do we do that?
Simply download the rom in the global website and go to the stock recovery to install it?

Your need to rebrand to india or Chinese variant to update.

bln-l21 (nfc) -> bln-l22 (india/chinese variant) = no nfc
Anyone can summarize how to upgrade BLN-L21 UK version (firmware BLN-L21C432B382) to EMUI 8.0 other than converting to Chinese/Indian first please?
If anyone have converted to Chinese from BLN-L21, then let us know how its going? I want to upgrade so that I can put one of the latest ROMS as this is the prerequisite of most ROMS. Thanks

Dont think we are loosing anything apart from NFC because that is the only difference we had in region specific models.
BTW there was one more guide to update but that will convert to Chinese version i guess. I guess it was by Khan.

I suppose forcing the nfc flag to true in the dedicated file .prop doesn't work to regain nfc on Indian or Chinese rebranded ?

I did tried that time on EMUI 5.0 but it didnt help. So i had NFC only on EU version. (mine was original Chinese version)

I've seen both guide to rebrand to Chinese or Indian version guys, I still wonder which one will offer me more Android 9 custom rom versions. If you have any advice?
Any custom roms will work with nfc? (Android 8 ones?)
Thx for the hard work, your advices and guides are still very helpful in 2021! Just bootloader unlocked and rooted a EU honor 6x. Only paid DC unlocked version get me the unlock code in 2021.

I would prefer Indian lme because there are more chances of bricking while moving from Chinese to other versions as there are no custom bin. Once i rebranded to i shuffled easily to EU, US and other variants + custom ROMs

Indian will so be the choice, even if a user had some troubles some days ago using the guide to Indian debrand, maybe it should be updated/corrected :

you can flash any region fw as long as it's for ginkgo
just don't flash willow things on it ...

we are not talking about the whole miui rom , only the fw
(+ i flashed multi region fw on my ginkgo without any problem)
Can the op confirm that?
Does it work to flash the ColorOS OB on the EU model?

got it working now. i did it this way
1. Updated to OOS Open Beta link
2. Download Color OS from your source
3. Install OPLocalUpdate and copy coloros to the root of your phone
4. Set the build date to 1400000000
apply in terminal
Code:

resetprop ro.build.data.utc 1400000000
5. Start the update with the apk above
6. ???
7. profit
use it for 3 days now and its stable as oos.
i think its more fluid and smooth then oxygenos, but there is a lot of bloatware and some apps are on chinese, i debloated those

Yes, the OOS OB works on the EU model, be sure to choose the NA variant (which is the global one, as the EU version is not available due to strict European laws).
Everything works as intended on my end.

i also tried that. Even downgraded to 11.2.8.8. Local update gives me an error.

I don't want to upgrade zit for some reasons mostly because of camera app as in my opinion that's the best build on which I'm getting best result of camera.
I want to root this decice and want to install a custom rom but I've some confusion about it... My first question is which boot file should be used for root provided in main guide about root... The one for LE2120 or for Le2121 as I'm using indian rom.
If i need to use boot file for LE2121 (DA). Then the file is not available anymore given in main root guid... The other problem is all custom rom links updated and I can't find any custome rom build on Oxygen OS 11.2.10.10 LE15DA...
Any help would be appreciated in this regard. Thank you in advance.

Custom Roms are not built from regions such as Global, EU, IN etc. They are built from OxygenOS A11, A12, or A13. Nothing to do with region. If I am wrong, please someone correct me!
