Okay, hmm. I didn't know all this. I am going to ask Jay if i can post this.

@KaiseRRUby thanks for sharing this.

You should ask 1st, then post. NOT the other way around.

I included all the links to the official TG group and credited the maker for this in my post. Will gladly remove this IF it's a big problem. Since there is an open TG group and you can discuss things there, i think its not a problem.
Saw in the group that other members talked about this post as well, i asked the same thing there but yet no response.

Got permission from Jay to post, so here is an update:

Flashed beta 4 on Thursday and have been running since.
As mentioned there is no finger print unloack and no 5 G but GPay works fine as does contactless payments.
Battery usage is pretty high but managable. Posted some screen shots but not exactly sure what you was looking for.
For now I will carry on using it as aprt from the screen lock its usable as my main phone.
Installed GCam app for the camera and that is working with no problem.

Ok i installed the Port and is up and running: Data, SMS, MMS works so it does 5G, VoLTE and WiFi calling on T-Mobile U.S. ; i have refresh rate at 120 (really smooth) Finger Print doesn't work, all we have for now is Pattern lock, everything seems perfectly aligned for the OP8Pro but the carrier name on lock screen, Gpay doesn't work out of the box so maybe Magisk can fix that. Google assistant screening call feature works, Bluetooth works. The main issue for me so far is the fact that i can't find a solution for the camera to work and the pausing issue with media playback, otherwise the rom works. If somebody here found a solution can you please share guys. Thanks, here are some shots of my experience with this rom so far

hi
intersting you have 5G option in the uS but not available here in the Uk
i DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED
Arnova8G2 GCam_6.210329.0153build-8.1.101
to get camera running and all appears good.
I have GPay working using Magisk hide but although you choose to hide Gpay and its in the list as hidden, if you click onit there is the option to choose a second file as part of it, once I did that it was working.
I haven't looked at the pausing issue is this in video playback?
I stream music without issue.

Actually is on both the issue video and music playback, streaming and stored files. Thanks for sharing that camera option, it seems to be working perfectly so far
To get 5G working i dialed *#*#4636#*#* then on Phone Information Menu>Set Preferred Network Type>select the option NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA to trigger the 5G. That worked for me

MIUI6 beta 5.6.9 released

Hello guys and girls!
Are you tired of all the custom ROMs that are available around? And want to return to stock MIUI?
You may want to do that as MIUI6 is released for Redmi 1S (few days ago). Now the beta version 5.5.8 5.6.9 is released for Redmi 1S and you can grab the global ROM from following official link:
http://en.miui.com/download-226.html#325
I've tried almost all the ROMs available for our device; but I was getting irritated due to voice quality (music, calls via speakers as well as headphones) with those ROMs.
So finally I've installed this and found that there are almost no bugs in this ROM. Also the voice is crystal clear and the battery life is awesome compared to those custom ROMs.
If you have any questions about upgrading to this update\ downgrading from lollipop custom ROM to this ask them here :good:

How much free ram is available?
How many apps can run in the background simultaneously?
Does the music player still stop suddenly during playback while screen off?
:: EDIT ::
I've tried it out myself.
Free Ram : ~200-300Mb.
You can run 5 apps in the background before things start to force close automatically.
Yes, the music player also force closes when there are 5 apps open.

Well, I've been on Miui 6 all day, and so far the experience has been satisfactory.
After a reboot, I had about ~300-350MB free.
I was able to run 7 apps before things started FC'ing.
Other than it not being Lollipop, there's not much to complain about.
Oh, also, it still occasionally overheats but it cools down quick enough when you switch the display off.

I find that if I connect a headphone and play music (via any music app, not just the stock one), after some time after the screen goes off, and after phone could go to sleep mode, the music cuts off every now and then, It comes back up in 15 seconds or so, and note that this isn't the sound cutting off (becoming lower actually) due to some notification for 2-3 seconds or something. Not sure what the issue is.
Hey bro, how to revert back to miui rom from custom rom...?

[MAGISK][MOD] Pixel 2 WiFi Mod

Hey folks!
I guess some of you encountered some weird Wifi bugs on the OP5, espacially delayed notifications and so on. @joshuous found out that this is due to a specific line/value in the /system/etc/wifi/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini (Nougat only) | /system/vendor/etc/wifi/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini file (Oreo), why he removed this for RenderZenith kernel (go thank him here ). So this Magisk module goes even a step further: It replaced the whole file of OnePlus by the stock Pixel 2 file. This line/value I am speaking of respectively @joshuous has found is not present in the stock Pixel file. Therefore I haven't encountered any delayed notifications. This mod has been tested now for several months, on OOS 4.x.x, OOS 5.x.x, OOS 9.x.x (means on Nougat, Oreo and Pie), on AOSP custom Roms, even back on my former HTC 10, Wifi always has been working fine without issues when this mod has been installed. So try it and enjoy.
Note:
This is for the OnePlus 5/T only, and I can't provide any help if you're using this on other phones. It might or might not work. It will most probably work on Pixel/Nexus devices, too. And it could work on every phone which runs AOSP, or not. It might work on other stock Roms than OOS. Who knows? So don't blame me if it doesn't. That's why I created this as a Magisk module, you can simply uninstall it again.
You have been told.
Update:
Officially confirmed working on the OnePlus 6 (running AICP), too, by @wartomato ! Thanks for the testing!
Thanks and credits:
@joshuous for his findings
@topjohnwu for Magisk
@shadowstep for his findings

Interesting. I will give this a try. Too bad nobody knows how to replace all the One Plus firmware with stock Android code. Their firmware still causes issues even if you don't run OOS.

Yes of course. Generally, it should be universal, but I tested it only on the OP5 and the HTC 10.

Ok, so far so good. Been trying some things out and it seems to definately be better. For example, pushing from the PC to the phone from pushbullet is instantaneous (on stock sometimes the notification only comes 2-10 seconds after the push itself).
Will keep testing.
Thank you very much.

Wrong post...Wrong thread...sorry guys
In terms of speed and latency tests, there is no statistically significant difference on my WiFi network. Not sure about stability and such yet
@RogerF81 The WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini file for me is located in /system/vendor/etc/wifi/ and not in /system/etc/wifi/ (which is where your module is placing the file at). Can you please check if this is indeed how it's supposed to be?
As a side note, I manually replaced the WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini file from your module via root explorer in /system/vendor/etc/wifi/, rebooted, and faced no issues with wifi whatsoever.

Ohhh indeed! Thanks for the heads-up! This must have changed from Nougat to Oreo and I haven't noticed it yet I even haven't noticed that though @joshuous has made his change in WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini file, but haven't looked at the file path xD Thanks again, I'll change the module accordingly!
Update!
Thanks for the findings by @shadowstep! (see above this post). So actually it seems, in Oreo, the file path for the WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini has changed, and I haven't noticed it yet and I guess I would have never noticed it without the heads-up by @shadowstep So thank you for your help! From now on, there will be 3 files:
stock Pixel2 Oreo file for users on Nougat (should work without issues)
stock Pixel2 file for Oreo users (correct file path now )
MOD of the Pixel2 file for Oreo users, where I experimentally change some values; for testing only, don't blame me if something doesn't work as it should
Changelog for Mod v1:
enabled Wifi channel bonding for 2,4 GHz
change Phy Mode from 0=Auto to 9=ac
change the Maximum Receive AMPDU size from gVhtAmpduLenExponent=7 to 4 (as 7 isn't even a valid value according Google's description??)

You're most welcome! I've actually been following (stalking? ) your GitHub profile and have been using this wifi configuration file since long now. I remembered looking for it initially in /system/etc/wifi/ location but I couldn't find it there. So I decided to look for the file in the same (parallel) location under /vendor and there it was! Anyway, great you've rectified the location and pushed the update quickly! :highfive:

best gcam mod for redmi note 7

This thread is to discuss best gcam mod for Redmi Note 7.
Redmi Notes 7 supports Google Camera without unlocking the bootloader thanks to the native support for the 2API Room.
So how are we?
there's a thread started here

I think you have to try yourself since some features work while other don't + difference in Quality.
Maybe I will do a spreadsheet again (like for the RN5pro).
Go to Google Camera port hub on xda find port mi 9. Go to the link download 'Download xtreme version [updated 30/03/2019]' it works perfectly for me. even photobooth works.

a feature called Photobooth will also use AI to get the best shot, except it will work more like Google Clips. Set your Pixel 3 down somewhere and it will take photos when something interesting happens, or when all subjects are aligned and looking at the camera. It sounds like a selfie timer that knows exactly when to hit the shutter for you, but it will also offer you a range of images to choose from.
Copied ?
However, it just doesn't work on any gcam for RN7 that I've tried so far....

I don't know what has been going wrong for me, but my phone running Chinese dev Rom doesn't work with any gcam mods, if it does the app only opens with a compatibility pop up, but then does run. Most others just close without any extra messages.
This is the MIUI error log:

Actually disregard my earlier post, BSG released a build specifically for RN7 of which I have been using since and has not crashed on me yet on all features.
Build I'm referring to is:
MGC_6.2.024_RN7_V1.apk (BSG, 2019-04-20, redmi note 7, changelog)

This version has no option to disable camera sounds, right?
I think Bsg one is the best right now.

this version runs best on global device with samsung gm1 sensor. i use it also. but if you get force close on other versions in nightmode ,just disable sabre if awailable in gcam options. and when it hangs on creating HDR.just use google gallery in options...that fixed it fir me on other gcam versions. greatz....

GCam ports for Galaxy S9/S9+ (Thread Reboot)

The last thread named "GCam ports for Galaxy S9/S9+" was very helpfull but got archived for whatever reason, so now, i'm rebooting it to help every Galaxy S9 (S9+) owner to find a GCAM port.
There are a lot of APK downloads and disposed all around the internet and the problem is not all of em work, so if everyone that has a certain working version on a certain config (Processor/Android Version) posts it here, it'll be the biggest repository of GCAM ports for the Galaxy S9 on all variants. Come on guys, we can do it !

Thx! Is it working 100%? Because then I'd maybe consider an upgrade. is it with a10 possible to move the clock in the notification bar to the right side? Do you think it was worth it to upgrade? Especially in terms of camera quality, or is it just "normal". I only want to upgrade if there are huge improvements . I also don't like the look of One UI actually.

Samsung have an app on the galaxy store that allow you to customise clock location, nav bar icons, notifications, recents etc. Its called Good Lock. You can use it on any samsung (as far as i know) phone with OneUI. To change clock position, you then pick QuickStar inside Good Lock.
I'm using 6.2.024 for Snapdragon
I still think this is one of the best sources for information for S9/S9+ users.
Cyanogenmod
It has good default settings for both processors.

How did you make these versions work? Only the configs? IDan's version isn't really rich of features and all of Arnova's apks are extremely overexposed for me (photos are almost completely white) and the according configs only fix the lag of the preview for me. Did you modify any other settings?
Thats great!
Will you please provide the link of that working apk on android 10 one ui 2.0 (EXYNOS) with the supporting files (if any)?
Thanks in advance..

No i didn't modify anything.
The versions at mackytravel are modified for day time only or night time only. If i used the night time only versions during the day i would get all white as well.

Links are provided on the first page second post. You can use Idan's 3.5 fix version, only features that doesn't work are the front cam hdr+ and portrait mode. We don't have night sight in this version though, but provides the most stable version for exynos s9.
Hi,
I have seen the links on the first page but I still have problems finding the correct version.
I see specific links for older versions that should work with a Samsung S9+but I'm looking for release 7.3 with support of xml config files and for the Exynos processor.
If I install the version from Arnova 7.3.021 it always immediately stops hen launching.
I found lot of versions on other places but a version is working on Exynos is hard to find.
There also seems to be fix for non-rooted phones to get the front camera working.
If possible I like to have version 7.3.
Can you point me in the right direction or give me another link where I can find the information
I am currently running ZGcam, it has working night sight, portrait mode, hdr+ enhanced... supports xml configs. You can find it on zgcam official webpage

What libs do you recommend?
For s9 or note9, probably my custom libs, also turn the saturation of shadows from 1.1 to 1.0, keep the awb on

Front Camera freezing
Switching to the front camera in picture mode leads to freezing of the camera. Switching back to the main camera releases the freezing. This happens only in pictures mode, not in video mode.
Anyone having the same issue?
Using ZGCAM 7.4 and the configuration N9Z69 from https://koopahtmaniac.com/detail_devices.php?DID=2
Lineage 17.1, no gapps, with https://github.com/lukaspieper/Gcam-Services-Provider installed
Hi all,
I found a working 8.1 GCAM. I used it on my S9, running ArrowOS 12.1 and found no issues.

Few questions about miui 12 for Whyred

Redmi note 5 pro AI miui 12
Hi, I have a few questions about miui 12 RN5 pro AI
This is my only device, so I can't flash the xiaomi.eu and test it.
1. The android still version 9 Pie in miui 12, so does it come with privacy protection ?
2. Does it include the features Virtual ID in privacy protection ?
3. If xiaomi global / china already reach the final rom version and no support anymore, does that mean xiaomi.eu will stop updating the rom too ?
Tbh, I just want the privacy protection features, it looks awesome :good:
We can give access to app permission only while using the app, and disable them to use the permission in background is great.
I just want to give online banking to use permission all the time, and other application only while I am using it
Yes it does come with privacy protection
Yes Eu roms will be stopped after Xiaomi stop releases for whyred (as Eu builds are based on China stable/weekly

Have u ever used lineage os before ?
How is the privacy guard / trust compared to privacy protection in miui 12 ? Kinda curious :highfive:

Yeah i have tried Los, but I wasn't impressed with it.
The privacy protection is much improved and implementation is also good.
I was fooled by this as I was using the rom and whenever i tried to register on Banking apps "No sim card card error was popping", after searching on xda i found that this privacy feature blocks imei and sim card acesss to ? apps and u have to manually change it.

Right now I am more focusing to privacy because I get hacked a few times before, well at least I learnt a lot after getting hacked :highfive:
Lineageos trust only can allow, deny and ask everytime
Meanwhile privacy protection in miui can allow, deny, ask everytime, or only use permission while in-app, that's huge + already.
Can't wait for the miui 12 on whyred global. I hate to changing rom again because it breaks a lot of my apps, most of them crashed, stopped after restored.
The worst is one of my banking apps can't backed up, and the bank is not available in my town, I need to use hard token and get it fixed when I travel again :crying:

Well this is gonna be a long story, but the most important thing is never use weak password.
1. Check at https://haveibeenpwned.com , see which one of ur email already got breached in the site, if u got breached, and use the same password for all account, u are dead :good: , that's why I am using password manager and generated unique long, strong, mix password for every account, if one of account breached, the rest will be fine. Bitwarden is the best to go :fingers-crossed: and I am gonna using keepass for now, just search a lot on internet which password manager u want and comparison, bitwarden and keepass just my own preference and experience :good:
2. When you search on the internet, what's the best antivirus for mobile, most people said android don't need antivirus, yeah that's true if you are using app from play store only :silly: , what if u are like me use modded whatsapp, instagram, etc ? First, download from trusted source only such as mobilism, and from truster user only, not some dude that signup today, and u use his mod apk, u are dead too  , and I don't said u should use antivirus either, but just use the default miui antivirus, at least it scan every apps after installing, then if u really want to use modded facebook, whatsapp, instagram like that, make sure to use 2FA on the account :highfive:
From here on out is the extra tips I suggest.
3. The reason I ask for privacy question here is to prevent some apps using my permission in background, and make sure every apps u installed got the permission it needed only, u don't want a flashlight apps request permission for contact, sms, gps, and u didn't read, and just press ok while installed, u dead once more again
4. If you really like to use custom rom, make sure to scan with virustotal on every zip u downloaded, u don't want any malware, keylogger attached, I realized many custom rom appeared and some tech wannabe in youtube just recommend this and that saying this rom is the best, etc. You never know if one of them got malware, keylogger, etc. The most suspicious one I have right now is mi globe, it offer a lot of customization based on user preference and based on xiaomi.eu but there's no much mention about it, and they don't allow comment on their site, and no community. It kinda make me curious, why such great rom don't have reviews ?
5. Check this https://www.privacytools.io for a lot of privacy protection, their site includes a lot of thing, adblock, etc, so bad guys don't store and sell your data. And of course more secure :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for the information that's very helpful
Peace
is whyred still in MIUI 12 BETA program?
2020-06-23, whyred is still on the MIUI-12-xda-release-list of devices that MIUI 12 is being tested for.
The next update, 2020-07-01 whyred disappeared from that list.
What am I missing here? Are those xiaomi.eu-ROMs only? Has anyone information regarding that? I would love to see MIUI 12 for this phone, miui has improved in every update and the new features look great. Somewhere was mentioned that the gfx will mostly be turned off for this device but the dropdown menu looks better than thatvon an iPhone

There's no official release about miui 12 yet for whyred, probably 1-3 months for global stable release.
And yes, they are probably from xiaomi.eu
Just check where you got the rom, as far I know there's many of them.
Revos, mi globe, mi room, xiaomi.eu, all of them got whyred miui 12
Device reached EOL status (no beta anymore), so they will continue to release only stable roms (every few months).
I'm not sure that there will be miui 13 for this device.

Unfortunately, I do not understand what you meant.
How can you be sure there will be an official update for whyred anyway ?
I interpret the disappearance of whyred from the beta/stable ROMs list that xiaomi just stopped to develop it any further. Why else would they stop testing it? There is a list of reported bugs but no releases that have fixed those.
There are 29 ROMs in development in the main MIUI12-beta/stable-thread and since 2020-06-23 nothing happened in regards to whyred. I know the rule is to not ask any questions about expected release dates but I just wanted to ask more basically:
what does EOL imply? will that be the last MIUI update for it? how reliable is your source regarding a MIUI12 release for whyred at all? I saw the list of devices that should get the MIUI12-update but they stopped to develop it for the Redmi Note 6 Pro, too, despite it being listed in the initial presentation. (reason was brick-rate was too high iirc)
The funniest thing about MIUI update is the option to "get updates sooner" (using native language-own translation). It has never worked and in case you are right in regards to further updates, it will never work.
How did one apply for beta testing of official Xiaomi ROMs ?
If my whyred-display continues to deteriorate I will need to buy a new phone anyway. One cannot read it in clear daylight if the sun burns as it does in Europe at the moment, bleeding from four or five point on the side gets worse and the ghosting with the display gets worse too.
I still like the phone as it served my well over the last two years and still can provide me with every tool I need (ok, the camera is a good point in favor of a new phone- was hoping for the POCO F2 zoom in case POCO can get their hands on the K30pro zoom ed. and rebrand it.)

I still like the phone as it served my well over the last two years and still can provide me with every tool I need (ok, the camera is a good point in favor of a new phone- was hoping for the POCO F2 zoom in case POCO can get their hands on the K30pro zoom ed. and rebrand it.)

EOL means End Of Life. Whyred was released back in February 2018 and it was supported till 20th of June of 2020 (I think it's Enough support).
Stable version will be available soon as it is first released for Chinese users then it is made globally.

Expect late 2020 or early 2021. I would recommend you go for custom ROMs.
