Question twrp when - Samsung Galaxy A22 4G

im not saying im gonna root my a22 yet but is anyone gonna port twrp or nah

when you try to write twrp, you may need to unlock bootloader first. and i have the problem with param file, because it's compressed by lz4 with another methods. can't open it with 7zip anymore.
do you have it?

same. i thought i'd be able to flash a custom ROM but I'm stuck with my device not listed on TWRP

Well firstly it's done on a old version of odin with the old layout of firmware files, which won't work. And if it did work there's a high chance there's no custom roms for A22.

[R&D][DUMP] Official AT&T ROM JDQ39.I337UCUAMDB

Hello Guys,
Thanks to the djrbliss and the root http://cleanimport.xda/index.php?threads/2252248/ , I dumped the system files from the AT&T version and am uploading the original files so that someone can make a Pre-Rooted , Custom Rom , Recovery , etc . Let me know if the dump is full and enough or if i need to do something more.
Kernel_ramdisk_unpacked (boot -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p20) : http://www.sendspace.com/file/o0iklo
Stock_Recovery (recovery -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p21 ) : http://www.sendspace.com/file/pgwjed
Hidden.img (hidden -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p27 ) : http://www.sendspace.com/file/reg61v
System partition backup : Attached is the torrent, tried uploading the system image file to a file hosting site but couldn't, hence the torrent.
The factoryfs is 2.7GB , and will upload it soon.
Warning:
Please do not DIRECTLY flash these files , as they haven't been tested and may not be fully operational.
At this point, since there are no custom recoveries or stock images available, it may not be possible to repair your device should you accidentally break it. Please be aware of this before performing any modifications to your phone.

When our devices are locked - does rooting them essentially unlock them? or is there some other step that is required? Same question for flashing a custom recovery - how or does - this effect the locked booterloader thing -
I tried doing a GOOGlE search to see if I could figure it ouit on my own and wasnt quite sure so - I thought I would ask - at the risk of looking like a dummy

yes it does...but if you install a custom ROM then it will have all the customizations which make the phone run faster and better than stock and other stuff which we cannot have with a stock rom.
custom recovery adds a step of protection by which you can install/backup roms and other stuff. and you can only install a custom recovery and rom if you have an unlocked bootloader.
How will you override the bootloader lock ?

Exactly why I am stumped atm, there's write protection on bootloader, I wonder if AT&T is the only S4 with this??? Can anyone confirm who has another S4 like i9505?
if the root method works, then you should be able to flash the recovery and custom kernel as long as the bootloader does not do signature checks (which some people have claimed to be true, will see). You will not be able to use ODIN,
but shouldn't matter.
Did it the "root" work for anyone else? I remember the kernel config allow full permissive root access, so we should be golden..

Yes , the root worked for everyone who tried. From browsing the thread , i seen that it worked for AT&T and SPRINT SG4's so someone should be able to make a custom kernel soon enough

THanks - I apprecaite the info
2.7GB...damn gurl dat bloat
Just another reminder to those still newly getting their S4's, remember the bootloader IS STILL LOCKED and your are pretty much stuck if anything happens to your phone while Rooted :/
Best bet just wait for the bootloader unlock, if you can't wait then I guess it sucks to be you XD
I don't even think it's gonna take long for the bootloader to get unlocked and I'm also willing to bet that someone from Samsung will probably end up releasing something helpful.

Rooting this device was such a breeze! And being able to do it the day after it arrived in the mail was just awesome. Thanks for the dump. I have been freezing the bloatware with Titanium Backup, didn't want to begin stripping things until a recovery was available and I could do a backup of the stock rom. I was surprised to see that I could also freeze most of the bloat through the built in Application Manager (selecting an app then tapping Disable) even before I rooted the phone.

first the dev's need to find and unlock the bootloader, we cannot say how much long that will take because it depends on the dev's and the device, i can say about 20 days to a month and after which the recovery can be done, which will be soon if we get the bootloader unlocked , then the custom roms will come out...

I doubt that any stock rom will flash with twrp recovery....in the past with oppo phones (n1, 7a) its always needed stock recovery to flash stock roms...I guess we just play the waiting game until someone can upload the boot image from the updated rom. I'm pretty sure flashing that alone will get wifi back up and running. 07 Or if someone has the stock recovery they could upload....I am unsure if you can just rip it directly out of the rom and flash it....Also on oppo forums they have posted the rom for 5207 I am also unsure if you can flash that to the 5206.
The zip in that thread is images to flash in fastboot?
...
I would think you would have to flash each image individually.... system, boot, recovery ....unless if we start by flashing only the unmodified boot.img to see if it will fix wifi....but i doubt it because i suspect the wrong boot image is what screwed up wifi in the first place...someone please correct me if im wrong

Yes, you're right; the boot image is not compatible with the upgrade; so downgrade to get root. I'm working on trying to upgrade again with the OTA upgrade and then getting the new boot.img and rooting that. More soon I hope!
FYI I tried your images, Lum_UK and found that I couldn't flash boot.img with fastboot, BUT I could dd them from within recovery, so I got myself up and running again.
Yes you'd have to flash all the images by hand one after the other.

I have no idea what it changes as it's the firmware my International N5706 was shipped with when it was released last week. It may be different to the US model (though I believe the only difference between the two is the baseband) and is definitely different to the N5707 for Chinese users.

No, flashing a kernal won't result in a different twrp. BUT inside the kernal downloads he also has a few Twrp releases. You will need this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=22806

When you say failing, what do you mean? what is the error that you are getting on the phone?
i ask because i am having similar issues. am currently on lineage 7.1.1 and i found a single post out there that mentioned that when i flashed up to 7.1.1 that it triggered a fuse in the flash memory, that cannot be reversed. The error message i get seems to indicate that this is correct. fused2 > binary 1 - meaning that my handset is fused to 2 but the one i am flashing is only a 1.
i have a fully working phone on 7.1.1 but i want to revert to stock and am unable to do so

Question Flash recovery on Galaxy A52S 5G without data loss

Hello, I have a galaxy A52s 5G and I'm trying to bypass pattern lock so I don't lose data by factory resetting. USB debugging is disabled and bootloader is not unlocked.
I can access download mode/stock recovery but that's about it. Doesn't seem like there's an official TWRP either. Is there a way to flash a custom recovery? Would flashing A52 4g's TWRP work? If not, what can I do
Arobase40 said:
Flashing A52 4g's TWRP onto a A52S 5G will lead to a soft brick phone !!! ^^
Someone else pretended he/she built a working TWRP for the A52S 5G but it doesn't work at all and even didn't test it him/herself before releasing it.
Another guy accepted to be a guinea pig but he bricked his phone by the way... ^^
We are all waiting after such a TWRP but there is none atm.
I'm myself trying to build one but I don't have enough time to build it because I don't have a good Windows PC and I don't feel comfortable with Android studio yet !

Yes, ofc. You would know better. I am not a developer. I was only trying with that guide.
