Question Full Switch Mode from Apple to Samsung Ecosystem. Anyone else? - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3

I'm not a fan boy of any particular brand. Just a Tech geek, I've been using apple for years as it makes my life easier with cloud services and the transition from app to apps within all apple devices. I've had many android devices, I've always have liked android. Frankly though I'm bored with apple and tired of the Norm. So I'm making a full transition to Samsung with the Fold 3 and Watch 4 Classic. I am still sticking with the ipad pro but may switch to tab s7+ soon.
Has anyone else made the switch? If so how are you transitioning?

I work in digital experience and have made that switch over and again. You have to work in the muscle memory over a frustrating amount of time. Remember early on to log into everything, set gesture navigation, learn to love swiping down, and move app icons and layouts to literally whatever works.
In time and after some running for your iPhone moments, you'll push through and realize that the reason it all flows properly for you now is because you had the freedom to personalize the interface as needed. That's android for ya.

No, but I just bought my first Apple product since the 5S. I got the iPad Pro. Android was getting a little stale and wanted to see what Apple could offer.

Ive been switching from ios to android since i can remember and just switched from ios to android because i bought the z fold 3. Before this phone i had an iphone for 4 years. I have been running mac os on my macbook pro and have airpods, ipad and a appletv too. I miss the ecosystem of apple a little bit since i switched my main device to the z fold 3 but gosh the screen makes it all up man. For now im very happy running the fold. Yes the switch is s*** but after i set up everything its all normal and nice to have sth else after 4 years of ios. Goodluck with your new phone and enjoy it! You can always go back

I'm not a fanboy of any particular brand... I had the first android phone g1 when it came and loved it. and several android phones throughout the years For me apple made my life easier as everything talks to each other and works well together. But after setting everything up on the fold 3 I realized there isn't much difference and that running g'apps does the same just as good. The only thing I don't like about the fold 3 is battery life... Now im on the fence on buying the flip 3 thome brown addition

i shifted to all apple last year and im so in love with my iphone 12 pro max, i love the eco system
but i still want to buy Samsung as i love the extra customization and its like tab and phone
my main concerns

my last s20 ultra have so much focus issues that never wanted to go back to samsung, maybe i got a defective unit 12 pro max cam is awesome

[Q] Tablet

It seems like there are different kinds. I mentioned one to my mom and told her it would be nice to have one along side my Evo so she's going to get me and her both one on Wednesday. Which should I get or which have better specs and can be rooted?
I was going to get an Android tablet but ended up getting an iPad instead. IMO, Android just isn't ready to be on a tablet. I'm sure when Honeycomb comes around I will get an Android tab but until then, it's the iPad for me.

Would you mind telling me what you think pros and cons are with getting either or?
I dunno, i went and checked out the galaxy tab and aside from just feeling like a cheap piece of crap (in classic samsung fashion) the software just didn't feel right. Scrolling was choppy, and it just seemed like an over grown Android phone. I saw no point in getting it when I already have my EVO, and really couldn't justify the purchase in my mind.
On the flip side, the iPad just feels like a quality product, it has a gorgeous screen that scrolls incredibly smoothly, and it feels completely polished. There is beauty in the simplicity of the OS, and it has grown on me immensely. The apps on it are far superior to what is found on android, and the games are pretty dam awesome. Considering that the two were similarly priced, it really was a no brainer for me.
Keep in mind, I am an Android fanboy, and up until I purchased my iPad, I badmouthed apple products every chance I got. Now that I have the iPad, I cannot deny that as far as tablets are concerned, iOS is far superior to Android. Android still smokes iOS in the phone department though.
I do have very high hopes for Honeycomb though.
Thanks I'll see if I can play with both and I wan't to make the right decision because I don't want to buy one and a new software gets release and the other is better. I keep things for a long time so it's more like an investment. Thanks for your response.

You know If theres one thing I'm getting tired of is hearing that Android is not ready for a tablet of what ever. In many ways my phone is more functional than my home windows PC.
Yeah some apps will look silly with only a few big buttons on the screen. But those apps are NOT meant to do 80 million things, they are meant to do one thing really well. And in all seriousness do you spend any real amount of time in apps like that right now on your phone?
There a fair amount of apps that would scale really nice. Like I use Pulse for my news and I think that would look great on a 7in-10in screen. Most of the apps people would use a tablet for they would be fine, like the browsers, email, weather, news apps, ereaders, and even a lot of the games(Angry birds, air hockey etc)
My other thing to note in this is that most of the time people spend on a home computer is using a internet browser. most of the apps I use are just shortcuts to webpages(think about it for a minute) or game's which there a ton of flash games also.
Theres a whole lot more tablets out there than just the Tab and Ipad, Archos makes some cool ones. then theres the chinse ones that are really cheap(under $200). But what your going to hit is in a couple months anything you buy now is going to be junk compared to all the dual core monsters that are going to be coming.
If you want one you can root there are forums just for tablets, and they can help guide you which ones you can root. I remember reading that theres a couple of the cheap ones people have been able to put CM on.
I played with the galaxy tab today and was not impressed. I imagined apps optimized for the tab but they were exactly the same as on my EVO. I'm going to get the Notion Adam Ink tablet.

Not trying to upset anyone, just stating my opinion. 2.2 on a tablet does not feel right to me, it leaves me wanting more. It really makes the thing feel like an oversized Android phone.

I've been following that Notion Adam tab and it does look VERY nice, but there is something sketchy about that company's whole operation. I was considering preordering it but I am just going to wait until it actually comes out (if it ever does) and if the reviews are good, I'm going to snatch one up.

Which version of the galaxy tab did you try? I tried verizon and sprint. Verizon version had the touch wiz ui that clearly no one likes.it's true what you said cuz the verizon version was really choppy and sluggish. On the other hand the sprint version was stock and ran really smooth. But I'm holding off on purchasing a tablet cuz the processor both ipad and galaxy tab have are mobile processor, I'd much prefer a tegra 2

Pretty sure I tried a Verizon one, a Sprint one AND an At&t one and was not impressed with any of them. Don't really remember seeing the TouchWiz UI on any of them but in all fairness I really didn't spend too much time with them. It really only took a few seconds for me to decide that the Galaxy Tab was not what I was looking for.
I've been using a Galaxy Tab from Sprint for about a month now, and have no complaints. It has excellent battery life, and the UI is buttery smooth.
I like the fact that the SD card slot is on the outside, so I can remove it at anytime. I loaded two seasons of The Office on it, and it's great to watch on the Tab's screen.
It is essentially an oversized EVO, and most folks say that iOS beats Android when it comes to games and apps, but it's still a great device with tons of versatility. I have only one item that I wish would be added: an external USB port.
That being said, I would wait until either the new iPad is released or until a Honeycomb tablet is on the market.
iPad or wait for a decent Android Tab. Not to suggest the Galaxy Tab isn't worth it ... I would have suggested getting it when it first came out if someone needed an Android tab.
I hate it as I really want a tab but I couldn't justify buying / suggesting what is available now.
Hell, even buying an iPad right now - with how long it's been out and Apple's usual cycle of new products / releases - I would think that'd be a foolish plan too. And if it's an Android tab ... things are about to get real in 2011.
Well I might be getting a Sprint Galaxy tab for xmass.
I won't turn it away
Wow. I'm shocked nobody has mentioned the "adam" it's a notion ink tablet. It is by far the best upcoming tablet. They have some pretty sweet video demonstrations of the UI on youtube. It is definitely worth a look, oh yeah it is shipping with android 2.3 and the specs are fantastic

If you want a cheap alternative ($250.00)that is pretty good and has the best screen out there for tabs check out the Nook Color from B&N. Some XDA guys are doing some amazing things with it already. I have mine rooted with the market and all. This will at least hold me over till next year when the Moto and HTC powerhouse tabs hit the market.

Coming From Iphone 4s ?

u guys think that it will be a good choice for me or not ?
This is an Android forum and more importantly an Android phone...what do you think people are going to tell you? Haha j/k
If it was apps you were worried about Android Market will probably overtake App Store in a year or two so I'd say go for it
It's personal preference but I'm sure you definitely wouldn't regret it. You seen Ice Cream Sandwich?!?! Daymmmm!
Yes, it will be a good choice.

I went from the iphone to the SGS2 and it didn't work for me I was told to try a pure google phone for what my needs were, I have not bought it yet as I'm waiting to see if it's going to be recalled or maybe get a phone from a fresh batch, the apps are somewhat different then on an iphone for an example is the pandora app for say if you turn it landscape you won't get the playlist you listened to during your secion(like you can't look back and see what you listen to and see all the album covers, some apps are better in android then on the iphone some I prefer some I don't JAMOP ,

Dude. Use a period or two.
The iPhone is the top-of-the-line iOS device while the Nexus is the same for Android. The 4S won't have a successor for at least 6 months, while the Nexus could easily cruise a year. That being said, both will be outspecced pretty quickly by quadcore Android phones. Try the Nexus out, IceCreamSandwich is the main feature, as is the HD screen. If you don't like it, go back to the 4S, or wait for some new Android phones. The 4S and Nexus are almost on par in terms of hardware, and are both flagship devices. Either one is a great choice, just depends on your UI preference.

We can't make that decision for you !, I didn't like the SGS2 because of the OS matched up with the hardware, The hardware is all there but it doesn't really work together with it's OS, It's not like how apple puts together their phone everything works like a well oiled machine, it's just not there for some reason, it's all a matter of how one notices it. This is my opinion and I'm hopping for a better phone experience this time around with google as the hardware picker and maker of there OS ICS and definitely not samsung the plastiqek phone maker, I would have liked LG or HTC make it. JMO like it or not
I just made the jump from iOS (3Gs, 4, 4s) to an SGSII, and it will be hard to go back, for me. Customization and larger screens were my main reason for jumping, and I haven't been disappointed. iOS still wins for the ecosystem and interoperability elegance, but I am happy with my choice.
On a side note, my SGSII is going back (bought an unlocked Nexus S) because like the 4s, it is not compelling enough to use my upgrade on for two years. I'll see what comes out in 2012 for an upgrade.

I'm buying this nexus outright and saved my upgrade for the iphone 5, I want the iphone 5 early shipped to me.
If you like to customize and do things like put ROMS, kernels, over clocking and such.
Android is now the way to go.......maybe in the past it was iOS but now they are pretty even.
Android is a lot better now especially with ICS....at least they finally decided to implement hardware acceleration -.- which is what iOS did since the beginning making it feel so much more fluid than android.
Anyways, if you sell your iPhone 4s, i would say get the GSII and save a few hundred bucks, especially since the Galaxy Nexus is costing more than the iPhone 4s even sells for. Then use that money when the GSIII or iPhone 5 come out.
I have both the iPhone 4S and Galaxy Nexus.
The iPhone 4S has superior build quality, camera and video recording, games, and vastly superior battery life.
The Galaxy Nexus has the best display I've ever seen, even better than Retina IMO! I can't believe people are bashing Super AMOLED HD or saying Retina is still way better. I have no complaints about the screen, its jaw dropping. Android 4.0 is the best OS out IMO as well. IOS 5 is cool and all, but I can't help but feel that Apple isn't innovating as fast as they should. Google literally redesigned and improved every aspect of Android in one update. In these past 4 years iOS looks nearly identical to how it did when it first launched, as well as many of the stock Apple apps. Every Google app got a giant facelift and improvement: YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps etc. And they look beautiful on this screen. The phone is pretty big overall but I'm getting used to it and its awesome. Performance is very good as well.
I've had the phone for roughly half a day and battery doesn't seem that good yet but I'll reserve judgment for a few more days.
I honestly can't believe Google improved Android this much in just one update. Its amazing.

I agree. People dog the 4/4s because they will shatter, but the build quality and materials are excellent. It doesn't feel cheap.
I liked the SGSII, initially, but it has always felt cheap and the big screen has terrible resolution. I realized that Android was what would keep me here. I'm looking forward to some premium look and feel Android devices to match the potential of Android OS.

In the smartphone game EVERY phone that comes out is eclipsed in 3-4 months as far as specs are concerned, that's just the nature of the beast now. The thing about the iPhone and the Nexus phones are that there is only one device made every year despite all the other ones that come out with newer faster hardware or whathaveyou. The Nexus phones were designed to have hardware and software work hand in hand more so than any other Android phone. Both of the previous Nexus devices are the only ones running 2.3.6 (to my knowledge - and the NS4G has 2.3.7) which is one update ahead of everyone else - brand new phones are being launched with 2.3.5. If you're gonna make the jump, you're going to want the pure Google experience.

I was going to say that LOL but he's also mentioning a phone that come out once a year samsung puts out phones ever three months
That's because of the timing it launched in. With 4 cores around the corner things will change fast .
But I have to say this to OP, me personally I have no desires to go into contest of who has the longer piss, what matters to me is the user experience, as long as it is smooth and fast I don't care about hardware much as long as it would support the latest software. Because overtime all the wow effect will diminish and you'll be left with the software.
I would change from the iPhone to anything just because of the tiny screen.

I left apple because iphone 4s wasn't an upgrade to me, I also wanted to try something different in life because I had the 2G 3G 3Gs 4 and wanted to see what else is out their and like I said the SGS2 was not for me and I would have turned back if someone didn't say give the google phone a try ( because of what I wanted in a phone ) So here I am waiting to purchase soon, just waiting for the first update and for the second batch to appear
from what I read on iclarified they said (speculation of course ) apple is working on a 4" phone That would be good and I hope they make both because a lot of people like using one hand when surfing and the iphone is great for that in size

Talk me out of switching to it he iphone!

So I've been a long time samsung fan since the first galaxy s phone, since I've had the s2, s3, note 2,note 3, and currently the note 4.
My job gave me an iphone 5s and I find myself doing more and more with that over my personal phone (the note 4)
I used to love customizing, rooting and installing roms. But so far that isn't possible with this phone.
These days all I do with my phone is browse the web, watch videos and text.
I'm so tempted to sell my note 4 and grab an iphone 6 (the 4.7") for the size of it. I've been getting tired of using a belt holster for my phone.
I'm a tech person and work in IT, I feel like I'll regret switching but I'm so tempted to do so anyway.
Anyone want to talk me off the cliff and remind me what I'll be missing?

Very easy, my GF (super Apple believer, always had Macs and iPhones) got an iPhone 6 of course and she can't regret it more. She's even been considering getting an android phone! Which is absolutely crazy for her.
Bottom line, you'll regret it. Sounds like you are an android veteran so I don't need to list here why it's infinitely better than iOS, even on a non-rooted phone.
Heck, if you can't live without root get a different Android phone! Or a rootable Note 4! There's plenty to choose from, don't fall far Apple's fake charm, besides the company now is at its lowest point ever.
Again, you'll regret it for sure!
oh, how I love the "talk me out of switching to an iphone" threads [/sarcasm]
If you're going to switch, just do it. You dont need anyone to talk you into or out of it. You can make your own decisions.
The IPhone 6 will be so boring for you! Just a stupid app drawer with barely any customization available. Unless you use Mac for everything else I can't imagine why you would want to be stuck in that ecosystem. Have you tried just carrying your phone naked in your pocket or use a pouch case? I use a leather wallet case and it fits my front pocket perfectly and I don't even need to carry a wallet anymore. You will also miss the screen, I promise you. I watched a 4k video in YouTube right next to my buddies iPhone 6 and it was no contest. The only other reason i can think of to switch is the better slow motion video, but that's literally it! Don't do it buddy, stay on the light side!
I had an iPhone, first one was the 5. As soon as I started using it I thought, wow, I get it! I could see why so many people like them. After a few months though, I started getting bored and frustrated by little limitations, mainly the lack of user adjustable settings both system wide and per app. So, I switched back to Android. I can't talk you out of an iPhone, because it's a great device, just not for me. The only way you can know if it's right for you is if you try it. Personally, it's my opinion that HTC makes the best phone you can buy.
If you're looking for a smaller phone, I'd look into the lg g3 or the xperia z3 compact. Both are great phones that I'd honestly pick up over the iphone 6.
Just do it traitor. Who needs to convince you. You are your own person. Jeez

Dude im 19 but turning 20 on the 20th of this month and have been with android since after my first phone the iPhone 3G. Since then -> HTC One X -> LG G Flex -> SGN4 all on AT&T. Everyone else in my family is using iphones from iPhone 5C's to iPhones 6's. I'm the odd guy out but I'm the guy who is like you. I root my phones when I can and I compile android roms for them as well when I can. I brought aokp 4.4.2 for the HOXL for example the first one to do that even beat official aokp upon release. But even without root Android has loads more too offer than iTunes app store especially if your a developer. Also one reason thats major to stick with the Galaxy Note 4 is for the Gear VR. Freaking oculus rift portable basically and vr gaming and cinema. Also its Quad HD 551 something DPI display. <- AnTuTu says it has 641 or something DPI I think specs are wrong from what is mentioned. I think AnTuTu is right. Also Galaxy Note 4 is using Gorilla Glass 4 . Also microSD card slot = expand storage up to 128 GB totaling to 160 GB's. Using SD card storage for movies music , utorrent (tv series etc.) Move app data to sdcard to increase storage and when we get root move entire apps to sd cards swap apps etc. You can also have camera save pictures and videos to ext sd card. We get android lollipop soon either end of this month most likely January. Also Note 4 is awarded with best color recreation read it multiple websites blogs etc. A stylus and optical image stabilization 4k video recording at 60 FPS! in UHD which I have it auto save to micro sd card then transfer vids and pics to pc. I have over 300 apps on my Note 4 and 4 HD movies and 800 songs downloaded from spotify. Several multi gb games. Because i transfer app data to sd card that im fine with them not working temporarily while sdcard it out and in my pc. Apps are back after the fact. When root does come out it will be the best phone ever #Note that it already isn;t! Swappable battery 3220 mah fast charge is legit! If you want to root now really bad get a tablet I recommend the nexus 9. >.< And check out the thread root progress note 4 att and someone is working on root for AT&T note 4 and seems close, just takes time and patience and we will have root and then customization and the best hardware and software.
Edit:: sorry for the typos typed in 50 seconds. busy. saw this had 2 respond
If you like iOS just switch. You've used Android before so you should be aware what you're leaving behind, so there shouldn't be a need for anyone to convince you to stay with Android.
My GF has been an iphone user since the first iphone, all the way up to the 5c. She had major problems with her last iPhone (5c) and she still planned on uograding to the 6+. I talked her into getting a Note 4, and she couldn't be happier. She had played with her friends android phone a couple years ago, a cheap entry level htc, and that left a bad taste in her mouth. She thought that was the experience involved with all android phones. Now that she has a flagship android device, she's all android and not looking back to ios.
Just switch, iPhones are great, easy to use and smooth ui I still love iPhones even though I'm on a note 4 and my wife is on yhr galaxy s5, the s5 is the perfect size phone, I'm starting to regret my note, too bulky and no root... I will really regret it if there is never going to be a root...
or have them both, that's why I carry both of my note 4 and an ipodtouch 5th gen with me all the time, same ios function, updated ios, with facetime, I just use mobile hotspot tethering on my note 4 to supply net to my ipod though whenever I need it
People bash the iPhone but I had a 6 Plus and a 6 and they are wonderful phones. Yeah its not customizable and blah blah blah but regardless they are excellent device and the kind of set it and forget it device. You get updates quickly and you don't have it wait around for an update to hit your device. Apps are optimized way better for ios. It just depends on what your needs are. I switched back to the Note 4 because expandable memory is a big thing for me and the certain features. There is nothing more smooth than an ios device so dont let people sway you into thinking the iPhone is a bad device. Your always going to get that answer on xda.
Remember that if you want the better resolution screen you need the 6plus which has the true 1080p screen. The 6plus also has an estimated battery life of about 24 hours tall time 16 stand by time, the screen resolution is 1920x1080 at 401ppi and it's there retina display so there's that,
the note 4 has 23 hours talk and 14 hours standby, it has a 2560x1440 resolution screen with 515ppi,
both have finger print recognition both have NFC with a mobile wallet, depending on where you live mobile wallet might not even matter yet, both are large thin phones.
The iPhone 6plus 16gig is 300$ on contract with att, the note 4 32gig is 300$ as well.
I sell these phones all day, the iPhone 6 is a hell of a lot more popular than the 6plus, the note 4 gets some love but with Samsung not really marketing as hard as apple it's a slow sell, both are amazing phones but I prefer the "freedom" of my note 4, keep in mind I phones are all jailbreak able at this moment where as we have nothing but stock , this is not to speculate what we MAY have in the future. This is a here and now comparison of the facts for each phone, not speculation or opinion. That is why processor and memory are not brought up, in real world use it depends on what you do to really know if one is better than the other...
So there's your reasoning, go ahead and pick

Chromecast, Gear vr, sd cards, more options for 3rd party accessories, ir blaster, Samsung phones are easier to fix. More apps. S-pen, better multi tasking features. 2k display, better hardware. Idk Last Iphone I had was a 3g. I'm not sure how much they've improved the os.
Nahh i have an iPhone 5s and it's solid but I don't see myself being able to handle it as my daily phone regardless of screen size. I just use it as an ipod or if my battery runs out on my note 4 i can just switch very temporarily
The only thing I have to say about switching over to any other device other then the note series is "S-pen". If you use it a lot, trust me you will miss it.

True I had the OnePlus One and I did miss the S-pen. I also missed the Super Amoled screen. As well as the ir blaster. Note 4 is sexy. People are always checking mine out.
Just go iPhone you will love it.

Question Keep iPhone 12 pro max or F3?

I jumped to iPhones several years ago. However I could not pass up buying this phone. As I can only afford to keep one, what advice would you give me?
How do you like the fold 3?
I was using iPhones since first model been released. I had Fold 1 and that was awesome phone for me but had no IPX* and I have to sell it.
Now fold is certified with IPX8 and I just got it for over a week. Probably never go back to iPhone.
Personal opinion?
I have the 12 pro max (13 pro max getting delivered on friday) and a fold 3.
Having said that, I still reach for my iphone 12 pro max. There's fundamental reasons for that as I have mostly all apple devices (macbook pro, apple watch, apple tv, ipad pro, air tags, home pod, airpods pro, airpods max) and the synergy between the devices can't be beat on android. Samsung makes an attempt nowadays, but there's some problems in that department.
The Galaxy fold 3 is probably the best ereader I've ever had though on the large screen. But the main issues I have with the device are ones due to android - I can't fault Samsung for enforcing adoption of their screen resolution/user experience to all developers. It's not going to happen.
The front display, while decent, you can't get much work done. It's frustrating to use.
I guess YMMV - if I didn't buy it for a steal I would've returned it. But I'm happy with keeping it. Maybe the pixel fold will be more my speed. Who knows

I see it as having pluses and minuses. Not certain the mibisrs outweigh the pluses.
imo if the fold doesn't immediately jump out at you as "the phone", especially after using it, i wouldn't go for it. its expensive and has its quirks. i got 1000 off by trading in my old phone, i don't think its worth it full price. i was going to wait for used ones but got lucky. personally i've wanted a folding phone since the first fold, and once they added the spen support and an under display camera, i was sold. i used a oneplus one for 5 years, then a oneplus 7 pro for 2, i'm hoping to stick with the fold 3 for at least 4 years.
Don't be hard on yourself use them both like I do (pro 13 is underway)
I can afford too my keep one.
Considering how long i've been on these forums, i never thought that i'd be saying this...but the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the best phone that i've ever owned.
I've been using my F3 for 3 days; Coming from the Note 10+ I still miss my old dead phone.
I needed a Samsung flagship device that supports dual physical SIMs and a Snapdragon cpu.
I was a Sony Xperia fan long time ago before they stopped selling the brand in my region.
Decided to give it a try after all the hype and so far my experience has been okay. I'm not in love yet but I see it coming.
Will I recommend it to a friend? probably not as I don't think the fold 3 is a daily driver phone yet.
It's big and heavy not to mention the S-pen case that adds additional bulkiness... The front screen is ultra narrow and yes the internal screen is awesome but it's does have major flaws like the very annoying crease in daylight ( at least to me ) and the unusual aspect ratio that makes most of the apps display less but bigger content. I works great for browsing and mailing but not much for most of the other stuff.
I will keep my phone and enjoy the exclusive experience it offers but if you're looking for a phone that does everything easily without complexity look somewhere else.

Question Anything I should know before I click the Buy button for Fold Z4?

Hello!
Anything I should know before I click the Buy button for Fold Z4?
Good, bad or ugly?
Thanks!
If you can wait till fall, the leaks for the Fold 5, if true, might make it quite better.
just my 2 cents. i'm having a blast with my fold 4 but i do have an eye for the fold 5 (assuming the leaks come true). regardless, perception of using a slab phone totally changed after switching to the fold. before getting it, i was justifying the use of a tablet if i wanted a bigger screen. but after using the fold, i don't think i'll ever go back to using a slab.
Dood. If your phone doesnt fold yet, pull the trigger.
I had the FlipZ3 8 months ago, backed it within 2 weeks, battery was too lite. Waited on 4.
Bougt the Flip 4 about 4 months back.....fkn love it. I shall never own another phone that doesnt fold, apart from my Oneplus7T that is running kali nethunter...but thats just a backpack companion...
Im an IT engineer and I can tell you it serves. Great torch, sits on video chats, can slightly bend and watch it landscape,....its the nutz.
Enjoy

Go for it, you'll be surprised. and for those saying wait until the fall for the 5, you can always do trade in when the time comes
Go for it! Fold 4 is awesome! Ditched my s22u for the fold and I have the 14 promax too. Good combo for me. Fold 5 is far ahead so decide later and go for the fold 4. Buy it
I'm disappointed that the Z Fold 4 doesn't support the Android 13 KVM feature that was in the news last year during the A13 beta cycle (even with the device rooted) as I wanted the Z Fold 4 specifically to be able to run full desktop operating systems in a virtual machine on the large internal display. Without that, there is not much it offers that makes it worth buying for the price.
You ask the question on a Fold 5hrwad. Everyone will tell you to go for it. Actually, I would have too, but let's be honest. This phone is not for everyone. I am using it as my daily phone and a great replacement to my tablet when on the go. It does not replace my laptop but allows my to have higher productivity traveling. Sometimes I hate its thickness and bulkiness. So depends what your needs are..
I've named mine (ZF4) "The Brick". I love that it's a thinner/narrower width, but that does come with increased depth/thickness. Nevertheless it's a really interesting phone, fast, great great visuals on the front (outer) screen, and it's fun to when needed flip that thing open and get this great expanse of screen.
Not to be a downer, but I'm not sure how much $$ you'd get on a trade in , but I think the ZF4 is a fun phone with many upsides. And, if nothing else, it makes a great self-defense tool if you're out at night and someone says "Gimme all your dough!". WHAP! Instant ZFold4 Justice, baby!
Man I had one since was announced in August. I have tried meanwhile S22 Ultra, Xperia 1.4, Pixel 7Pro, Iphone 14 Pro and and...Im now back to Fold4 and no more questions for me. It is enough compact in hand and in pocket. It is enough big when you need it. Man must try to beleive how good is.
