Question Returning an accessory that was purchased using the $200 credit - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3

So I dont like the spen case, if I return it, do I get the credit back to use on something else? When i go to my order, and click return, it says $0. Will i get the credit though?

Normally they will wont give you anything back.
It was basically free and part of a promotion.

Thats retarded. They gave me $100 to buy stuff. I understand not giving me $ back, but i should get the credit back to get my other "free" stuff.

i returned my SPen case; however, i called Samsung to confirm they will give me credit to purchase the SPen pro. The Samsung rep sent me a return label and explained once they receive/inspect the device, the credit will be available to me. the one caveat is i have to call and order the SPen pro. we'll see what happens.

Yep thats what the rep told me. And if you read the fine print it also says it.
Even if you return your phone. They will have you return all the free gifts or pay full price.

Yup dame here. Sending my SPen case back, and once they receive it they said they will give me a promo code, which I'll use for the leather case.

If I buy phone full price (unsubsidized) will they update my phone?

will they still update the phone even if you do not add the phone to an account. buying it outright.
I'm planning to buy a phone on second shipment. Will these be updated already before the box is even opened.
I'm asking for rooting purposes.
I've heard Sprint is not selling any "cold" phones, which is essentially the phone with no phone or contract attached to it, so unless you are getting it from somewhere else, or the rep was incorrect, what you are trying to buy does not exist as they have to send it with phone/contract information attached
R
To answer the first question I don't think it will come with the update on it yet. I have heard best buy has done the update when activating though so make sure they don't.

I don't think that is what he meant he was just stating that he is paying full price and not renewing his contract. Sprint is selling a lot of EVO's that way as many have come from the Hero, TP2, or Moment. If that is what you meant than the rep lied to you.
sorry, should have been more clear. I want to buy the phone without putting it on an account. I can't do this from the sprint store even if I pay full price?
my rep installed the ota update after i said not to do anything other then activate it, or sell it to me, in fear of not being able to root afterwards...
so, when he handed it to me and it was updated, i gave it back to him and told him, "i hope you enjoy your new evo, now lets try this again"
started over with new evo and they sold mine to the next guy
turns out you can still root after the ota update, but didnt know that untill after the fact
so for root purposes, it wont matter for now, but if theres another update...
who knows, personally i believe the devs here enjoy the challenge as every update that was put out for the phones so far, it seems 1 dev or another has taken it on and rooted it
just saw our reply... i wouldnt see why they wouldnt, just tell them you want to buy it and you'll set it up yourself, call up a store and ask.
edit... or, shoot i just may sell you mine at cost lol.... JK im keeping this 1
i bought mine outright at best buy.
expensive as hell but i must have epic phone for epic phone is epic.

if you bought the phone out of pocket with no upgrade, it shout be 450 out the door plus taxes, where did you buy this phone, they ripped you off!
bestbuy should pricematch sprint store. even after you bought. bring in an ad. google evo bestbuy pricematch for more info. they sometimes they give you some hassle but according to their policy they should do it. ( It's not a bundle offer, you are buying the phone alone at full retail.)

I have evo's for sale in my sprint store.

I see so many people still saying they are unable to get the evo's they want so I am posting this thread to try to help. I work for a sprint store and I have plenty of EVO's on hand. If you need one or more I am able to ship them to you usually within 2 days. If you'd like more information let me know.

Seems kinda fishy... 1st post... and what Sprint store employee is going to post on a forum soliciting buyers for a phone that's proven very difficult to keep in stock?

Thank you. I've already found Evo's for me and one brother, but my other brother is trying to find one and I would love a BB, or Sprint employee to tell me they just got some in locally so I can tell him to run over there.
The real help would be to post the store location and phone number so members could call and speak to him legitimately or go there if local.
Here ya go if you need to see that this isnt something fishy. Here is my number 928-458-5286 store number is 928-771-0662 also if you go to ppc geeks and look in the threads my store has already helped people pick up the phone. Of course they have to be able to upgrade or something unless they would like to pick it up for retail price and being able to bill to your acct is the prefered method. We pay shipping also so you dont have to pay shipping prices.

Will you sell the phone for $200 shipped? I don't want to deal with the MIR. You could credit our sprint account $100 and send in the MIR as a batch from the store.

Any store that told you thought is simply holding the phone for an upgrade or new activation since they make a commission on it. It's not a Sprint policy.

Let me know if I can do this
Unfortunatly we are unable in the store to waive the MIR so we would have to charge it. Sorry , and to your bright eyed question we can always sell a phone upgrade no upgrade no matter what just remember though the retail price of an evo with no discounts is $450 before tax. Just to warn you.

I'm fully aware of the $450. I am not eligible for my full upgrade for quite some time and I am trading web design work to a friend, in exchange part of his payment will be an Evo out of contract and then I will still get my upgrade later. This will work right?
Is there any other way of payment since he is going to purchase it for me?
any luck with him?
I'd be very interested in setting up a new Sprint account and acquiring the Evo from you for the usual $199 with 2-yr contract. Do you ship to Hawaii? And is there the usual 30-day trial period, in which I could return it to a local store if need be?
How's about telling us when the Samsung Epic4G will drop?

I've been so pissed at Verizon for taking so long to offer this phone, that I was contemplating waiting and getting from Amazon or, you know, anywhere else.
But, $50 off on Day 1 and getting to [FINALLY] have it in my hot little hands today??? Too alluring.

no problem! I still need to wait till tomorrow
I am in disney on vacation, and I was going to go to a vzw store down the road for in store pickup, but because my billing address is in NJ, they wouldnt let me buy it. I said, screw you vzw, I'll wait a day and pay less. Also, amazon is still $200 unless you make a new line, so it's pretty much all the same. Now all I need to get is the squaretrade warranty for $99 on amazon tomorrow and I'm set!

I did it last night and selected in-store pick up. Then, I learn of this promo code this morning. I called VZW customer service and they told me I'd have to try to apply the coupon in store.
I asked if I can just cancel the order and I'd redo it but apparently I have to cancel in-store too. Makes no sense to me but I'll find out in 40 mins when the store opens.

Will do! I'll report back from the One hopefully!
For $50, I have no problem cancelling in-store and redoing it online and waiting the extra time for everything to process.
the people I was chatting with said no way to do it in store, which is why I have to wait an extra day until I'm home. But definitely let us know!

Cancelling the order over the phone now with the store since they can't add the promo code. They aren't sure if they can cancel it though; as per VZW's site, the order automatically cancels if you don't pick it up within 4 days. Hoping I don't need to go that route.
Also, no-go on that coupon for full retail at the store.
EDIT: Nope, they can't cancel. Have to wait four days. Time is money, and I'll just eat the $50. An hour of overtime will cover that!
I was able to select instore pickup and use the code.

I had used the code successfully online and selected in-store pick-up, but when I got there, the code didn't come up in their system!
Fortunately, I had taken a print-out with me (showing the discounted price) and when they asked where I'd found the code, I pulled up this thread in our forum)) to show them, so they were very nice about it and honored it. [Again, YMMV.]
I was polite throughout (which I'm sure helped) and then thanked them several times.
Good luck everyone. She sure is a beauty!
I selected store pick-up and when I went to checkout the system would not let me complete the order. What am I doing wrong?

[Q] SquareTrade Discount?

Before someone says 'search', you should know that the search function isn't working on XDA right now.
I was browsing SquareTrade's website and came across the fact that they have a specific page for Samsung Galaxy devices. It seems that those warranties are cheaper than the regular smartphone warranties. http://www.squaretrade.com/samsung-galaxy-warranty
It's only $99 down and $99 deductible. That seems like a good deal, since it covers accidental as well as water and mechanical.
Has anyone used SquareTrade before? Was it worth it, and what was the process for getting a replacement like?

that is the same deal you get if you go through amazon for squaretrade. I was going to get it, but it does not cover lost/stolen which is what I am worried about more than dropping and breaking it
When I found out that Jump through t-mobile came with insurance I just jumped on that. - no pun intended. A lot of people use squaretrade - including costco and a friend of mine has no problems. Search them on Amazon and read their reviews...they have good reviews.
Is 99 for a two year insurance plan?
does anyone know if squaretrade covers phones that have been rooted/software modified? like, does the phone have to still have it's original manufacturer's warranty intact or does that not matter here? will they force you to try to use the samsung warranty first, or does their warranty just work in lieu of the samsung one?

Yes, that's for two years, which seems to be a really good deal for me. When I want to sell my phone next year (when the next Note comes out), a warranty will be a big selling point.

I think that is something that manufacturers do more than 3rd party warranty providers. I don't think SquareTrade cares if you root your phone. It might come into play if something happens like you brick your phone and ask for a replacement, but i'm not sure. I'll have to google it and see if anyone has said anything about that possibly being a problem.

Honestly, I've never broken/lost/damaged my phone in any way that it would need to be replaced. So I hope that one time would be all I would need. And even one time would save my $500+ to repurchase the phone.
I'm glad they give you 30 days from the date of purchase to get the warranty, cause I am all tapped out right now just from buying the phone itself.

for as many sales as Negri gets...i doubt there would be a big issue with their extended warranty
I'm also hoping for a coupon before the 30 days are passed. You can also request a prorated refund if you don't have the phone anymore within the 2 years.

Yeah, I had originally looked at them. They just changed their insurance provider and the terms. Before, it was a higher price and deductible, but you got a new phone when you made a claim. Now, with the lower price and deductible, you have to send the phone off to be repaired. I'm just not sure about the new insurer. SquareTrade has been around for a while and I know that they are decent, so I may go with them.

I'm pretty sure that SquareTrade requires a receipt or invoice of some kind as proof of a newly purchased phone in order to get a warranty. The warranty itself is transferable if you later sell the phone, but to get a new one I think you need the proof of purchase.

How do we get the $25 from Samsung after returning the device to Verizon?

I am having a replacement device sent ( I will send the one I have back to VZW). How do we go about getting that $25 credit from Samsung?
The credit should come from Verizon, not Samsung. At least that's my understanding.
We should still be able to get the $25 credit even if we exchange the old/current Note7 in for the New Note7 on Wednesday, right? Or is that credit only for trading in the old/current Note7 and receiving a loaner till the new Note7 is available for exchange?

My local corporate store told me they were only offering a 25% one time discount on any accessory. I knew that wasn't right but didn't say anything since the whole debacle is new to them. When I go back to get my new Note 7 I'll ask again.

From what I understand, we call in and request the bill credit and they will apply it.
