Question QCN backup for the Red Magic 6 Pro on NA/Asia V423 - Nubia Red Magic 6

A while back when the 6 Pro was released, I ended up with a bootloop and lost my imei in the process of recovering the phone. Long story short, was wondering if anyone has or can make a QCN backup for the Red Magic 6 Pro, preferably on the current firmware for NA/Asia and change the coded imeis/meids in the backed up .qcn file to default numbers like 1234...etc so any personal info is taken out?
For policy reasons, I can't explain how to change any of that though.

There you go.

Thanks boss, giving things a last ditch effort before I toss it in the recycle pile. Wish me luck lmao
Edit: I finally got to take a look at the file and is this for a Red Magic 6 Pro?
It seems to be from an altogether different model of device, encoded specs are for a generic Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 model, the RM6P has a Snapdragon 888.
Tried using it anyways for the hell of it after backing up the existing efs, my IMEIs were both listed but I lost all SIM card detection. Went to restore the last QCN and my IMEIs were missing but I had SIM card detection.
Seem to be unable to get the IMEIs to stick to my existing backup, shows as NULL.

Need a favor from an i927R (Rogers) with GOOD IMEI

I lost my IMEI ... appears my efs backup doesn't have my original one either. I don't know how long I've been running on a generic IMEI but I would like to fix it.
There are some YouTube vids that explain how to fix it on SG Captivate and SG2 but none for our phones. It involves hex editing a string of characters. I have the stock NV with IMEI from an AT&T phone (thx bubor) but the hex string will be different for Rogers.

I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to share their efs backup (nv_data.bin) and IMEI with me. The only reason I would need the IMEI is to cross reference another thread I saw that shows a potential way to inject the stock IMEI into the efs. if not, thats ok I understand. Obviously sharing the IMEI with me involves a degree of trust.
In the end, once I get mine restored i will create a good how-to.
I've already tried flashing back to rogers stock w/ Odin, restoring from backup, removing the.bak files and letting the phone re-create them but all to no avail.
I appreciate any help with this and thanks in advance.

You are wrong, I sent roger version.
Litlekernel makes backup, have you checked ?
/storage/sdcard0/LiteKernel # ls
efsbackup.tar.gz efsdev-mmcblk0p1.img.gz
Thanks bubor.. i did check the backup and it has the generic imei in it too.. strange that the efs you sent me when i hex the nvdata it said it wass at&t.. when i have some time i will test with yours as shown in the video.. fingers crossed

Hi,
I have lost my IMEI as well. When i try to do a *#06# on the phone i get null/null in response. I have read everything that is available on this forum and others but have been unable to restore from the backup.tar.gz files i have. Could anyone kindly guide this noob here?
Thank You.
Yohan - were you able to restore the efs??
PS - I read that you have the nv_data.bin file for i927 at&t version. Could you kindly share it with me.
1. Turn phone off.
2. Remove back cover
3. Remove battery
4. Sticker with IMEI will be there.
[Just checked with my Rogers Glide]
might help with injecting it into another file or something.

dude, i have my imei however if you reviewed the video from the OP you'd see that the imei needs to be hexed back into the nvdata file - there's a specific order and since i only have one (my own imei .. from the label off the back of my phone and the box it came in ..) i can't differentiate if its correct and dont want to ruin things further.

T-mobile S4 Stock Android 4.3, Cannot Unlock, IMEI unknown after attempt by localshop

Hi All,
I had purchased T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-M919) with Stock android 4.3 while I was in usa, and want to use it in my home country now as I have left usa. I couldn't found any unlock solution on internet for stock android 4.3, and T-Mobile would not give me the unlock code. I tried third party services to provide unlock code and it did not work either. So I went to a local shop, and he screwed everything up. When I went back to the local shop to receive my phone (hoping it might have been definitely unlocked by them), he told me that he tried to downgrade it to 4.2.2 but it did not work (only after reading through all the forums I realize there is no way to go back to stock 4.2.2 if you are on stock 4.3 because of knox / bootloader issues on 4.3, leads me to think the shopowner did not really do his research before touching my phone, and no, he did not do any EFS backup). In an attempt to unlock my phone, he also flashed Metro PCS stock ROM on my phone, not to mention, my IMEI number is also 'Unknown' now. I managed to get back on T-Mobile stock 4.3 ROM now but still IMEI is unknown. I also tried to go to nearest Samsung center and they said they would not touch international phone models. At this point I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions how to get back my IMEI and or at the least to get the phone working to my country's network?
Thanks.
Try flashing the mk2 modem using odin. That may work but not sure.

The local shop broke it. Tell them to pay for it.
Also, the only reason T Mobile won't give you an unlock code is if the phone isn't paid for in full. If the phone is paid for in full, they HAVE to give you the unlock code.
Are you sure you didn't buy the phone in the US, then leave the country without paying the bill so you could use the phone internationally without paying full price? If not, there is no reason T Mobile wouldn't give you the unlock code. So there's some missing information in this story.
Also, we do not discuss how to change IMEI's on XDA. The only thing permissable on XDA about flashing IMEI's is restoring YOUR OWN IMEI from a backup. That is done by restoring the EFS partition. But you didn't have a back up so you can't do that. That means anyway to fix your IMEI involves what is an illegal hack and that discussion is expressly not permitted on XDA. That information is used for illegal purposes and XDA is not going to be the place where it's shared for legal reasons.

Hi skipjacks, thanks for responding. Nothing is pending with t-mobile, I was on prepaid account. I bought the phone like 10 days before leaving usa (due to emergency). T-mobile says my number on this new device should have being working for at least 45 days or so with refill balance. My cycle ended after 15 days of purchase and I really didnt see any reason to refill it as I was no more in usa. And no, I dont want to CHANGE my IMEI, only want to restore my own IMEI only. I am not sure if my EFS partition is corrupted, because I rooted my phone tried to backup EFS folder now (I know its too late but still), deleted it and rebooted (as a few threads suggested it would regenerate nv data files), but neither did I see any nv files when I did a back up now, nor after I rebooted. When I rebooted, the EFS folder did regenerate but there were no nv files in there. Also, after deleting EFS and regeneration the serial number was corrupted, but when I restored my backup, the serial number showed up correctly again. Also my current backup contains the imei folder with mps.code_bat file. I noticed that even imei folder was not regenerated on deletion of EFS and reboot. I somehow have the feeling that this is still indicating that my original EFS folder is still present (though I may be wrong, because I dont know). But my concern is the nv data files, which I dont see anywhere. I did come across several threads about imei corruption and restoration, but the only one I didnt come across was T-mobile SGH-M919 with stock android 4.3. I am wondering if this has some different file storage structure for imei (which again I dont know). At this point I am concerned about getting back my imei, I can get the unlock code from some reputed paid service again. I understand that open discussion about imei involving anything CHANGING IMEI is not allowed here. If anyone could just help me out restoring my original imei, even by pm, I would really appreciate it. I just dont want to throw away the phone and lose my money because of the error done by repair shop.

First off....the enter key is your friend. Hit it every so often when typing giant blocks of text like that.
Second, since your IMEI has been deleted, you now have to change it, even if you just want to change it back to what it was before. The process to fix it now is what can't be discussed here.
IF you had backed up your EFS partition, then it would be as simple as restoring it in recovery. That's all well and good. But your IMEI is now 0, so you have to change it to what it was.
But all that aside, you went to a store and they broke it. Take it back there and raise holy hell until they fix it for you or buy you a new one. I know consumer protections are stronger in some countries than others, but wherever you are, yelling and screaming is a universal language.

Whether your file is missing, modified, or corrupted, you need your /efs folder to restore it. You do not have have a nandroid backup or the /efs folder. I am sorry but the simplest we can put it without sounding harsh, you're screwed. You need to request the local shop give you a replacement phone or credit to get a new one.
Update: I went back to the shop and told them "You broke it, you fix it, I don't know how and I don't care, you gotta fix it". They managed to fix the imei number somehow. Regarding unlock, the shop ended buying the unlock code themselves. They mentioned that no one is able to unlock T-Mobile S4 with Stock 4.3 as of now without unlock code, unless they have some device like Z3x box. The phone is finally unlocked and working fine on my network. (YES, A HUGE HUGE RELIEF).
Everything is fine, except for 2 issues.
1. I want to backup my EFS folder so that I don't enter into trouble with IMEI again. I tried EFS Pro, but its not working. All I see is "'Initializing ADB server..." (the phone is rooted, usb debugging mode enabled, and supersu permission granted when prompted). I also tried to backup using Andromizer, but it says "Notification: File not found in /storage/emulated/0/Amdromizer/efs/efs.img". What is my best option as of now to backup and store my imei safely somewhere?
2. I am having issues with Wi-Fi. Before the shop flashed my phone, it was all good, but now it doesn't auto-connect to my home Wi-Fi anymore. Everytime I reboot or get out of range, I have to manually select my home network everytime and also enter the password everytime. Nothing has changed on my router. The other Samsung device that I have still auto-connects to my home Wi-Fi as usual. How can I fix this?
Thanks.

For the efs you can back it up using recovery. Just boot to recovery and its one of the options in the backup menu. The resulting file will be like a few KB. Its supposed to be small. Dont worry

IMEI lost, questions about backing up another MOTO Z Play "EFS".

Hi, I've been trying to find a solution for the problem of null IMEI I'm having after wiping EFS partition on the Chinese TWRP, maybe it's not that and it is because I've erased modemst1, modemst2 and flashed modem+fsg.
I'm pretty sure it had to do with one of those procedures, when I wiped the EFS I've got some error saying it couldn't be done but something went missing.
I've got a more direct question now, my brother just bought a Moto Z Play yesterday, if I backup his EFS on my phone (he already asked if I want to do that) will both of us would be able to use our phone normally?
can anyone backup their "efs" and upload it here so that i can restore it and get back my imei.

No way, like you already now, each phone has an individual IMEI. Your phone is unfortunately unusable.
What did you attempt to do? Flash another firmware package ?

Lenovo could generate it. But they probably instead replace the main board. You may ask them how much the repair is.
I think I'll just take it there and see if they can do anything about.

Hey you can use sigma box to restore imei which will cost you around 800 rs,same thing happened for me but still not fixed just using with wifi
If partition can be wiped, then is not read only. If is not read only, should be possible to write backup back. Otherwise, what's the point of the backup?!
Each phone should/must have different IMEI, depending of the network. In theory, should be possible to take partition from one phone and write to another. However, Moto maybe prevents that checking some hash, serial number... If it's possible to write partition from another phone, again question is can those two phones be on the same network in the same time. I also saw a way to change IMEI, I think even on this sub forum.
If someone solve this problem I definitive pay to that sir, he would be rich In the first day..

Help with ZERO networks!! Before I burn this THING!!

Okay story so far, got Zuk Z2 from BG China to replace Mi5 that had a tumble
After a couple of weeks I decided to flash Custom Rom (LinageOS *UNOFFICIAL), seemed fine then I lost Network totally on both SIMS.... Zero bars! I've tried all sorts of ROMS and flashes of Baseband firmwares but to no avail. Now I think I've confused myself.
So if anyone has any advice before I cast this device from a high roof it would be most appreciated.
Thank you :good:
You flashed already different basebands via fastboot, erased modem after that?
Tried flash stock ZUI via qfil?
After all no network? IMEI's are there?

When it first gave up network I checked IMEI and it seemed to have duplicated them for both sim but after I QFIL back to ZUI 2.5 they returned perfectly... I've gone through the whole erase modemst process but still FUBAR....
Even stripped the device down to bits and checked the internal connections.
He strange part is I get the emergency only msg on sim so guessing the network is recognised but the signal is -90 dBm at best, getting to as bad as -130 dBm.
Even considering writing the IMEI from old bust Mi5 to handset to see if this would help...

Yeah I guess every other android and iOS device I've either rooted or jail broke was pure luck and the huge amount of posts on many sites including Lenovo regarding this baseband problem are all very similar 'lab rat' experiments.

I had a dabble with QCN and managed to replace corrupt IMEI's but still didn't help. Can't be sure the BASEBAND was correct though.. I'm yet to try a full FACTORY DEFAULT configuration as suggested but will be this week.
Been suggested the IMEI may be blocked for some reason but seems unrealistic as it was working prior to FLASH.

Imei lost, wifi doesn't turn on after the new ota update for oneplus 5t

I have found serious issues after new update in oneplus 5t. My IMEI number is null, both the sims are not detecting, wifi doesn't turn ON. This happened when after getting an OTA update in oneplus 5t. After flashing the file, the device works as normal for 2 days then suddenly restarted then the issue has found. I approached their service centre last week, they told that we need to change the motherboard for solving it. I found similar issues with other phones too and they have solutions with it. But can't find the solution for oneplus 5t.
I DIDNT HAVE ANY BACKUP DUE TO I AM UNAWARE OF IT. M REALLY SORRY FOR THAT.
Can anyone please help me out...I m sitting on it for the past 2 months can't find any solution...Please help me out
So the problem is that no one can restore your IMEIs - if there's no backup then you'll have to go for the mainboard replacement, there is no other way...
Thats hard, but I think thats how it is - always backup your EFS partiton, that should always be the first thing you do, if you want to modify anything (Root, etc.).
