Question Latest build number? - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Hi guys - just setting my 6 Pro up however I'm not convinced it's on the latest build - it's not showing any updates however I don't have the magic eraser in photos and the build number is showing in the quick settings area which seems rather strange (unless it's meant to). It's showing build sd1a.210817.015.a4.

Looks not far off from some of the Factory Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices that have come out for the earlier Pixels.

I don't have my 6 Pro yet, though - so hopefully, others will chime in.

Same as mine then from Google UK. I'm just so used to updates the second setting up a new device I was surprised.

someone had build.prop from pixel 6 / Pro ?

Just had an update to SD1A.210817.036

Mine just updated to SD1A.210817.036 and the security updates show as 05/11/21! (UK Google store purchase)

Also updated to SD1A.210817.036 (UK) with SP dated 05/11.

It looks like everyone that's chimed in that they've had an update is from the UK.

No update here yet and I'm with the UK one and still on the original with October security updates.
I'm hoping it fixes the deep sleep issue I've already discovered after the first night! Every time I get a new Google phone I go through the same process of trying to debug battery drain. Not loaded anything on it yet, but it drains battery when in standby, and checking using the app CPU spy, my old Pixel XL 2 gets > 90% deep sleep overnight and pretty much flat lines, first night with Pixel 6 it had drained quite a lot (10%) doing absolutely nothing and that shows 8% in deep sleep was all it managed, with most of the time the CPU is at 300Mhz doing something, so some sort of wake lock. Got the camera app saying its been on for 14 hours as well so might be related. I've restarted and still very much the same.

No update here yet.. UK bought from Google store.

Another UK P6 Pro owner here, received yesterday 26th Oct.
Running SD1A.210817.015.A4 out of the box,, bought from Google direct.
Last night I noticed a notification for a security update (73.46MB) but for some reason it wouldn't install.
This morning it seems to have installed just fine - took a LONG time 'optimising apps' after, but its' done now.
Device is now running build SD1A.210817.036.
I did see some weird behaviours yesterday with the camera running in the background all the time and some other odd stutters, but hopefully a lot of this will iron out as the phone/adaptive battery learns about my usage patterns.

Wear update screwed up the watch

I got the latest update to the wear app and after was getting delayed notifications. Decided to try reseting the watch and now it's not installing any apps to the watch and the watch is heating up and dying quickly. I've reset the watch again, cleared out the data and uninstalling android wear and reinstalled and it does the same thing I went from line 80% battery to 26% in like a half hour. Anyone have any thoughts
Edit: also the watch is stock no root or anything
Yup, I just updated. Lost 10% battery in the last 20 minutes. Something is not right.
I'm not seeing this, but it does show that Google really needs to have a way of reapplying an update and/or reverting back. This can be done via ADB sideload for phones/tablets, and we need an equivalent for AW. (This may already exist, but I'm just not aware of it... at least not an official way.)
There's an update to the Wear app in the Play Store now.

Is this another update newer than the one on the Play Store with a date of 07 Sept? Or are you talking about that one?

Yeah me too. Just updated. App didn't force close or anything and watch seems to be the same still. Dropped 2% after update though -.-
The Oct 7 wear update just crashes on my Moto X. Had to uninstall and reinstall the older verwion from titanium backup. It did that with the earlier release too, I think it's date was Oct 3. There is something wrong somewhere.
Well after a recharge and another reset along with deleting all wear app data and uninstalling it and removing the 360 from the Bluetooth menu it synced and send ok again today. Plus the original slow notification issue is gone now too. Now if they'd just give be an option to show the step card less often is be set

Hi, same situation here on Droid Mini.
Can you send me your backup for older Wear?
Thanks
heres the apk before the update, uninstall updated app and install this one.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28511905/com.google.android.wearable.app-1.apk
The new release today (1.0.2.1534065 Oct 23) doesn't seem to fix the problem either. Both of the most recent updates cause this issue for me:
Android Wear 1.0.2.1534065 (current, Oct 23 release) Google Play or apkmirror
Android Wear 1.0.2.1476973 (Oct 6 release) apkmirror
Work arounds I've unsuccessfully tired so far:
Install/re-install, clearing Android Wear data & cache
Removed all other Wear apps
Cleared data & cache from Google Play Services
Factory reset Moto 360
Switched from ART to Dalvik & back
Direct install of v1.0.2.15 and v1.0.2.14
Upgrade from functioning v1.0.1.13 to v1.0.2.15 and to v1.0.2.14
Even tried to re-enable all of the pre-installed Moto bloat I had previously frozen
Multiple combinations of the above, with reboots between steps
I can, however, still use the older version of the Android Wear app without issue:
Android Wear 1.0.1.1379611 (Oct 2 release) apkmirror
Anyone with any other suggestions?

Android System drains battery

I've had an LG G4, model H815 at Android 5.1 for the past two months. So far extremely satisfied, but it's been acting up for the past few days - battery drains for over 20% while I sleep for ~7 hours, and apparently Android System (specifically the GPS) keeps it awake and drains over 60% of the battery.
I keep GPS on high accuracy and I use the smart settings the phone has, but up until a week ago or so it didn't do any harm and it only lost about 2-5% every night - Same goes (more or less) for my previous phone. LG's subsidiary in my country just pushed an update a few days ago, so it may be relevant, but I don't recall if it happened before it or not (sorry).
I'm attaching a few pictures to this post, if there's any app you want me to run and post its output just let me know.
Any idea why this is or how to solve it?
Here is mine:
Okay...? So any idea why it happens to me but doesn't to you? This is a troubleshooting thread.
Same here. GPS in Android System seems to be nearly always on (up to 8 hours GPS usage, while I left the phone idle, without any App started) - with a huge battery drain.
I also suspect the firmware update received recently, since I became aware of this issue only some days ago. Using the phone, the GPS icon comes up every 2 Minutes or so and stays on for about 20 Seconds. That's definitely something I never observed before.
I googled a lot and found some articles describing similar problems. However, no working solution was given.
Here is what I did with nearly no impact:
- motion sensor and compass calibration
- cache wipe
- termination of the google app process, since I thought this might be the culprit (even cleared data)
- switched off google location tracking and smart lock
- switched off Android Device Manager under Device Administrators
Then, I did something that looks promising:
- I de-installed the updates of Google Play services and re-installed the latest version from Play Store. It was the Version 7.8.99 (2134222-220).
This solved the problem at least temporarily. I had a whole day where the system behaved as it should. However, this morning the problem came back.
- I de-installed the update of Google Play services once again, but this time without updating to a newer Version. I currently run version 7.5.71 (1955121-448).
To my surprise, even after reboot, the system does not ask me to update, so I leave it now as it is.
And the problem - again - seems to be gone. However, I am not sure whether this - again - will only be temporarily...
I think a good starting point for problem analysis might be to compare the running Versions of Google Play Services. What do you think?
Thanks,
toshiuser
I'm currently running Google Play services v. 7.8.99 (2134222-440). While writing this I'm clearing its cache and data and uninstalling updates, brings it back to the same stock version you mentioned. I'll see if it helps and keep you updated. Thanks a lot!
I think this has to do with carrier iq.. Not 100% sure though, but maybe you guys should look into it. I know my android system usage was really high also. Then I removed carrier iq and it went way down.

I also run Google Play services v. 7.8.99 (2134222-440) and also noticed GPS is On ever now and then even @ home. I wanted the latest Google Play Services and I enabled this Google Play Services drain fix. So far have not seen the GPS turn On without reason. Hope this will solve my overnight 20 % battery drained.

I had the same issue you're having. If you're rooted, it's an easy fix. Download any app ops application from the play store, and go in and disable the location permission for Android System. Has no effect on the device knowing your location whatsoever, and fixes the wakelock/battery drain from Android System.
Hope this helps!

This sounds promising, but I'm not planning to root my phone (at least as long as there are chances for other solutions).
One update from my side: Still running Google Play Services Stock version 7.5.71 (1955121-448) and everything still seems to be ok. No battery drain from GPS. However, I am still not convinced that this will last long...

No carrier iq here and I've had the same issue a while back.
Update: No Problems with Stock Version of Google Play Services. Everything worked flawlessly the past few days - no battery drain.
Now reinstalled the current Version 7.8.99 (2134222-440) from Play Store to see if problems come back. I will keep you updated...
Last Update:
Google play Services 7.8.99 (2134222-440) is definitely faulty, at least in my configuration. “GPS always on“ and the huge battery drain almost immediately came back after reinstalling it. I was only able to achieve SOT of 2 and a half hours while GPS was active for several hours (in idle mode!).
Switched back to 7.5.71 (1955121-448), which works great, and will stay there with double SOT.
I did not see many posts regarding problems with Google play Services 7.8.99 (2134222-440), so this is either a rare problem or this is the reason why we read the many complaints about LG G4's supposedly “poor“ battery...
Hope that Google is aware of this problem and fixes it soon...

Thanks for this. It brought my Android System under control and significantly improved my battery life...well, closer to where it was before I rooted!
No luck,
even with Version (448) the problem persists.
I examined the problem again:
When I disconnect the phone from the power supply in the morning, it usually works normally. During the course of the day, at some point (not predictable), the GPS icon shows up for 2 minutes, grays out, disappears and comes back after a short time. Being in this state, Android system drains the battery due to high GPS usage (even if no app is active and even if locked in idle mode).
Now the interesting part:
If I open Google maps being in the problem state, it just takes 1 or 2 seconds to obtain a GPS fix. If I close it right after the fix, the GPS icon is gone and the phone behaves normally - sometimes for several hours. When GPS icon comes again and stays, I simply repeat the process.
For me it seems, that location service in Google play services is faulty since it sometimes cannot obtain a GPS fix whereas the algorithm in Google maps does it instantly.

Someone have issue with Play next ?
He's empty and I can't add nothing or i don't really understand how it works
I joined the preview program a few weeks ago when they tried to do the initial release and got the Oreo update yesterday. Everything seems to be working great here. I actually like the new launcher over the old one considerably. Now I only have the apps I want on the main page and you can reorder the apps in the app drawer too. The YouTube channel sucks because you can't put your subscriptions on there or your watch later which should be an option. Most of the rest of them are perfectly fine.
Got it yesterday afternoon in the US
Still nothing for me in US.
has anybody successfully used magisk with this update yet?
Oreo update made everything laggy and unusable
7.0.2 Developer images are now available.

I was one of the people with "a few issues" I updated mine last night and now I can't get past the Android boot screen (the 4 animated circles). Waited for 2 hours. I'm hoping I can get it into fastboot and FDR it.
New upgrade is CRAP, stay away and save your work
I HATE this update. It's ugly, like a return to Windows 3.1. There are fewer choices for what and where I can locate things on the desktop. I get one bar where I can put MY stuff, but YouTube and other commercial crap get front and center. I bought the Nvidia Shield TV so why don't I get the right to the real estate?
To initiate a restart, you now have to go to About and drill down to accomplish that. Every addon now takes 2 clicks instead of the previous 1 click. I also get the silly Android circles stuck at boot-up and I have to pull the power cord out to restart to get to desktop. Terrible, terrible desktop layout and menu function is haphazard.
I'm so sorry to have let this one into my unit.
I'd highly recommend avoiding this like a plague, stripped the device of useful features and introduced dozens of bugs and eyesores. If you don't have the update, don't get it.
I have issues to with Oreo.
My shield dosen't turn of the TV via HDMI CEC.
Model 2015.
Im thinking of rolling back to previous version.

I will post if any issues.
Hi. Is this beta or real thing?
I just received the real thing too. No Celia Voice Assistant though. I'm AL00 CN version living in UK.
Nothing for me yet....
Yes received the update.... Did a hard reset and using it... 1.89gb update...
Battery Stand time increased well...
I feel Volume has been decreased.
New design, Always On display looks good... Still with this design... Battery Standby time is good !!
Still google feed is not working...
even after removing "com.huawei.intelligent" Home screen setting's are still showing as "HUAWEI Assistant - Today" and not allowing google feed.
anyone successfuly enabled google feed... let me know..
got it yesterday via OTA in israel , AL 100 , so far so good
Finally got it! Had to enable through a Huawei app I stumbled through...
I'm in the UK, unbranded EVR-N29 5G , build 10.0.0.194, with Vodafone sim.
I believe my model will update to 10.0.0.200 before updating to 10.1.0.xxx.
What was the last build you guys were on before this latest update?
Battery life improved
Can I check with you guys? Did anyone get the Celia Voice Assistant in the 10.1 update? I didn't. Battery life, especially standby has improved a lot. Also they've nerfed the split screen function. Before you could split screen with any app, now it's only from a list of 15!! ? But I do like the swipe feature to open the apps tab.
One other issue, the option to select resolution size for pictures in the camera has disappeared. Which is weird because it was there straight after the update but after rebooting phone, it disappeared.
Received via OTA in India on my Al00

I thought the phone had rebooted yesterday but wasn't sure. This explains it.
I am on Nov 5.
But Google needs to fix bugs, not just security updates. Like the camera overprocessing, the screwy 4x zoom which is not used at times when chosen by the user, the sub-optimum battery, and the constant requests for PIN instead of FPS, or unlocking with a trusted device.

When the phone fails to read your Fingerprint (something along the lines of three or four times in a row), it automatically blocks/deactivates the FPS, until you unlock it with your TO KNOW security measure (in your case PIN).
I had it happen to me a couple of times over the course of this month, and it was a tad too annoying to shrug off. I definitely miss my old P4 Faceunlock, never bothered me (except when I wore masks, lel).
I had it as well ... was on Nov 1, update, reboot and still on Nov 1 ...
Note there are two things: (a) security update (Nov 5 in my case) and (b) Play-systemupdate (Nov 1 in my case).
See screenshot.
When I manually checked for a Play System update just now, it told me my update was over 600 MB! Sorry, no screenshot.

Damn that's huge for a play system update. You have an unlocked device or carrier?

You apparently ordered the supersize version at the drive-thru

Yes, I have the Unlocked (and rooted) 512 GB model, using on AT&T. Maybe it hadn't checked for any Play System updates since I rooted - since I waited to root (and disable verity and verification, and flash the stock firmware and wipe) until just a week and a half ago (I think).
I confirm it now says November 1. Thank goodness Settings has search and I'm also glad it remembers my last several searches in settings, even after a reboot.

You do realize that Google Play system update (Settings > About phone > Android version > Google Play system update) is different from the monthly security patch (Settings > System > System update), right?

Excellent, because judging by some of the posts here that's not quite universal.
In case anyone is still confused:
Monthly patch - Nov 5
Google Play system Update - Nov 1
any noticeable changes? I'm asked to reboot... but I rather not until the next system update
