Question Power Button - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Anyone having issues with the power button activating Google assistant? That's what mine does. I have to hold volume up + power to get the reboot options. Did I miss something? I'm looking for a setting in threads but finding nothing.
Update: I had to go to power button settings and turn off the option for Google assistant. Sorry to ask

In the Settings menu, navigate to the “System” section.
Next, go to “Gestures.”
Select the “Power Menu” option at the bottom of the list.
Finally, all you need to do here is toggle off the switch for “Hold for Assistant.”
Hope this helps

CWM Recovery Bug

Weird thing happens when i reboot into recovery, when i try to navigate the menu with the volume rocker one press will up or down will translate to a few button pushes
also, the power button turns the screen off, but only after being in recovery for along time
anyone else experiance this?
edit, when the power button turns the screen off it says "back menu button disabled."
This is a known issue. If you keep scrolling through the menus the back button will become enabled and navigation should return to normal.

hardware button long press remapping

messing around with the (how to enable soft touch keys) mod I found how to remap the hardware buttons to my liking... I was able to remap the home button to search and back, but I've found that whatever happens 1 line of code makes the button's 3 functions go with it... when I made it search pressing it brought up search, long pressing it brought up voice search and double pressing did nothing. I even tried making the menu button into home and all it's functions came with it, double pressing the menu button brought up s voice and long pressing it brought the task manager.
I guess my question is this: since the code tells a button what it's called where are the functions of these names stored? I can change the home key "key 172" to "SEARCH" but I haven't been able to find which file figures out what to do when a button labeled "SEARCH" is pressed, double pressed, or held...
I know s voice knows how to edit this file since it has control over double trapping home. and android system knows how to edit it too since every android "including our phone" asks to select a default action when long pressing a "SEARCH" button
my ultimate goal is reconfiguring a button to bring up Google now (which I love) without undoing the original button function (say making double tap home or long pressing menu bring up Google now). I'm also sure others would benefit from knowing how to do this kind of stuff namely people who want a camera button or a search button
any help would be appreciated

Root/S-Off/Recovery/Google Edition/Menu ReMap/Button Light disable.

Going to be picking up a Verizon HTC One. Waiting/interested in the following:
1) Root, S-Off & TWRP/CM Recovery.
2) Google Edition ROM / CyanogenMod...STABLE & 100% Functional.
3) Menu button remap to nuke that menu bar.
4) Shut off/disable button lights.
I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting these things on Big Red...any ideas on time frame or roadblocks?
:fingers-crossed:
menu button remap is built into 4.2.2 - long press the home button (you need to enable in settings)
I wish it was long press back, but I'm already used to it

HTC 10 Nougat Menu Button?

Hi, i just updated my phone to Nougat, and i miss the feature of long pressing the recent apps button that gives me a menu button (MM feature?). Is it possible to activate that again? It seems to be replaced with split window feature. In addition, in the display settings, in the buttons section enables the menu button. Does that only show the menu (three dots) button on apps only? (has nothing to do with the capacitive buttons on the phone?)
Thank you for reading this, look forward to a reply
Before Nougat:
Choose from the options: Always open recent apps. Press for menu, press and hold for recent apps. Press for recent apps, press and hold for menu.
After Update:
Display options - buttons- menu button
holding the button on the right to open up split screen is a feature of nougat.
I knew of the feature to hold the button down to bring up a menu, but im guessing it wasnt widely utilised, hence its removal.
There may be a way, using root, to change what the button does, but I wouldnt know how. Someone else probably does though.

Hey thats a bummer, i loved that feature! i not really fond of the split screen feature, its not really that useful to me.
Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully, ill flash a custom rom on this phone soon.
This is bull****! They could at least give us a choice of choosing what does the button do. Now I will have to install a custom rom to get back that menu button
Can someone who has a Twitter account describe this menu button issue to Graham Wheeler or Mo Versi ?
We`ll get a better chance of them fixing it then.

Problem taking screenshot

Hi there
When I press Volume Down + Power Button the phone opens up a power menu, where I can choose to shut down, restart etc.
I want to use the default feature of this key combination to take screenshot, I have checked the settings and couldn't find anything that would help.
Would appreciate your assistance.

Just click and release both Power and volume down buttons for screenshot. Don't press and hold.
or activate hand swipe or use s-pen. Most often I use s-pen so I can make notes.
