It's not a theory, that is how Google releases updates

But the Now playing server side changes for Pixel 2(XL) / Pixel (XL) is out now.
Check settings - sounds - Now playing. There is the now playing history. At least it is something

[Q] Unlocked Amazon G820QM - Updates

I've had this phone for around 3 months or so and haven't received a single update. I'm wondering if you any of you guys got any update at all?
I'm at Android Security Patch level: April 1, 2019
Kernel 4.14.83
Build PKQ1.181203.001
Software version: G820QM10a
I tried LG Bridge and the phone is recognized but when I try to check for update it says that it can't read my phones software version. It's really not a pressing issue but I'm just wondering what you guys have experienced

I have US unlocked for two months and I still haven't received any update. I have April's patch too.

I just got a security update! (I had literally seen this thread a few days ago cause i was surprised I hadn't gotten one)
I am now on software version G820M11j with the Oct 1st security patch!

Android 10 Q Beta release
According to mylgphones.com they've seen over the air strings for the beta update coming to this version of the phone so we should see that releasing in a few weeks!

Ok, now that's some good news. I have to say that I really love this phone and I don't have too many complaints besides slow updates and kind of wish the camera was a little better

Android 10 is here, for the Amazon version on February 24, 2020, the update has arrived, until now I have noticed a better fluidity and the camera has improved considerably! Everyone update!

Question Monthly updates

Will the monthly updates be on the 13th now instead of the 3rd?

From articles about pausing December update, I have read that upcoming update should come out by the end of January. So I am not sure if there will be an earlier update just for security or not.

I received the Dec update via OTA on release day and installed it, is there something wrong with the Dec update?

No one knows yet when they will be released. They said "by late January". All the rest is just speculation.

Could even be today. Left hand and right hand don't communicate well at Google.

Google acknowledges Pixel 6 network bug following December update
I haven't had any issue at all on the December update, which I manually flashed, but I know others have had issues.

Question Update timescale

I'm in the UK and have checked for updates but it says there is no update is there a rough idea as to the time the update happens

10 AM where Google is located (PDST) or 6 PM your time.

Alway early evening of the first Monday of the month in the UK.

Yes. Nothing in Toronto, Canada too.its 6th and Samsung already rolled out this months security patch. Google too slow with these updates

Today's update is the stable version of QPR3. Not sure if they will be releasing anymore QPR betas for A12 given A13 is due to be released in August or September.

Just received the June security path update in Toronto, Canada

Checked 11.06pm comes in at 211mb

Google pushes updates out in waves. It is possible that you have to wait for days, or even weeks to get an update prompt, even when manually clicking the button.

It's Tuesday night 6/7 at 10:45PM EST, and no June OTA update yet for me, either.

Could be a few days or maybe a week you could side load the update but I have no clue how to do that

Question Android 13 curiosity..

Does anyone think android 13 final will be released on Monday ? I thought I read something stating the July update was the last Android 12 update that the pixel 6 would see . So Im curious . Thanks

Since Google said that it was going to release Android 13 beta for the Pixel 6a soon, I doubt it, but who knows. Would be strange to release A13 Beta for the 6a a day or 2 before the release of stable A13 and even stranger to release the beta for that phone after the stable is released. But we're talking about Google here, so nothing would shock me.

Well I thought the point of beta 4.1 was to finalize the build and be the "last" before official release lol.

So wouldn't that entail a early August release for the pixel 6 and other devices that already had there rounds of the beta? The 6a hasn't even had a beta yet .. it would take another x amount of betas to get it right for the 6a . Wouldnt they just release for what they got now and worry about 6a release after ? Lol

I don't think they want to put the 6a on a different schedule than all the other Pixels, especially given all the negative pushback when they were releasing builds for the Pixel 6 series later than for all the other Pixels.
The beta they release for the 6a would likely be 4.1. They aren't going to release a special beta just for the 6a, and then release more until they get it right. All the Pixels get the same beta.
But like I said, who knows? Just wait and see what happens. None of us can control it so don't even worry about it. It happens when it happens, whether Monday, the next Monday, or whenever...
