Question One app won't work on P6P: VMWare Intelligent Hub - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Trying to get company email on my new P6P, and I keep getting the message "Failed to create the install URL” when I try to log in w/company credentials and create a profile.
Everything was fine on my old Pixel 4XL running Android 12, but of course the VMWare software suite was already installed when I upgraded to 12. It's only now trying to install it on 12 that there's a problem. Which says to me that there's some kind of compatibility issue with installing on 12 that they never tested, despite having had 8 months since the first dev preview.

Then it's high time that you contact the responsible person for your digital services at your company because he needs to take a look into this. We can't help you here, except if you did a user mistake, which is - however - rather unlikely I'd guess.

In first wave only few windowsphones will get win 10 tehnical preview. You can see list of supported devices here: List of devices will be increased with every new updates.
Also, I used HTC 8s and i'm really not sure if that device will get the win 10, just because HTC made it. HTC threat his costumers really bad. Wait some times when Microsoft release more updates for technical preview and maybe one day 8s will be on the list.
Remember when HTC didn't release the "OEM Drivers" and we couldn't get the 8.1 Update 1, Cortana, etc? Now we all have the Win8.1U1 or 8.1GDR1 whatever you want to call it. You just have to wait until MS finds a way around those OEM drivers and send the preview world wide to every device.
For now the list of devices getting W10 is very small... and it's not worth yet... Wait at least 1-2 service packs to get the real deal.
For example, for W8.1U1 on my HTC 8s here are the ONLY problems I think they are quite important:
Camera quality, the shoting seems laggy, the quality is bad. This was not a problem in W8 (stock) where the quality was good, even with pictures taken @ night with flash.
The market apps gives errors if set to install on SD card instead of overriding the setting (with a warning at least). Some of the apps, which are designed by the dev to be installed ONLY on internal memory, if they are set to install on SD they will end up in an MS specific error code. If you lookup the code on Google you MIGHT find the solution, or you might not (for example, for PROShot, after an update we ended up having the error code, and it took us 2-3 days to find a solution).
IE Security flaw. IE remembers passwords? Yes, but passwords are hidden under "*". If you select the * and press the SEARCH button, the password will appear in the search field.
You can't edit the dialed number without deleting the whole number.
That's it. Those are the bugs that needs fixing. But leaving those aside, the 8s is running great, doing whatever I need, whenever I need!

Anniversary update trashed touchscreen...

I've a Win Jr LTE phone & the update ran while I was out, despite telling it not to run updates without my express permission - it has now screwed up touchscreen so the phone is entirely unusable. Does anyone have any suggestions?
NB: telling me to "do a hard reset & lose everything" is NOT a suggestion I want to hear, since its not a viable option in this case, since backup on the phone hasn't worked since I got it on multiple cards & via onedrive.
I can't use browser or keyboard, anything with controls at bottom of screen is useless, there (of course) is no obvious way of re calibrating touch screen so the phone is effectively useless.
Apologies if in wrong place but the site doesn't seem to do anything other than lag, or make choices for me I didn't select.
I would strongly recommend NOT installing this (version ends. 67) as it appears as buggy as usual Microsoft efforts and has been bricking some phones completely I have since found out.
Jemma
the issue is known (by now, think it wasnt the prior cause otherwise the device should not have received the update). the problem is somehow the os uses a wrong resolution 540X960 instead of 480X854 which ****s up the touch
two options: opt in into release-preview-ring of the insiderprogram and get the .82. maybe it already fixed the problem. second option: going back...
use external display application on your pc or pair a bluetooth mouse/keyboard if its impossible to reach the insider options (be ware: if you havent signed up as insider before it may take up to 24hrs till you will find new builds)
Yeah, I had guessed it must be something like that, because the touchscreen reacts differently from one side to other and from top to bottom.
It's frustrating though because I can remember screw ups like this from Microsoft 20 years ago and they're still making same elementary mistakes, and it's not as if specs for these phones are hard to find or there's unknown multitudes of windows 10 phones out there, like with Android..
Windows 10 honestly has the potential to be excellent but if someone with 20 years IT engineering experience can't fix it for herself because the tools just aren't there then what hope non technical people? And they are just the people who will give Windows 10 traction.
Has anyone managed to find any files that set environment variables like in android?
PS if someone builds an equivalent of the Nokia E7 running Android or Windows 10 let me know, I'll happily bite their hands off, much prefer a good hardware kbd.
im pretty sure there is no way on the blu devices to interop it and made registry editing possible (should be an easy task to modify the setting for the screen resolution). you could sideloading vcreg after activating dev mode, but im pretty sure it wont be able to write reg values and cant research atm where the value for the resolution is stored
vcreg works only on Lumia
I've tried the feedback and the insider updates and I can't get to either of them because of the screen. Is it possible someone could put this up on feedback for me as I'm sure I'm not the only person with this issue.. Microsoft would only have to release a very small patch fix to solve this issue..
Thanks in advance

Anyone copied from N6P/N5X on 7.1.1 beta to the Pixel on setup?

I'm wondering if anyone who installed the dev preview of 7.1.1 on the 2015 Nexuses tried setting up their new Pixel by copying data with a cable. I'm doing it with 7.0 on my N6P, but it doesn't appear to be different than the old proximity method that came out with M, that is, it doesn't copy a lot of stuff like downloads and app data. I was hoping that with N and with this new cable method finally one could seamlessly transfer from one phone to another, but it isn't the case here, so wondering if having 7.1.x on the old phone makes any difference.

I have 7.1.1 on my 5X. Can't get the initial setup/transfer to work whether I try to use the cable or cloud. "Google Play Services has stopped working" comes up just after I hit "copy" on the old phone, or when I select the 5X backup in the WiFi version, and basically brings me back to the beginning of the process. Not sure why it's happening, spent hours on the phone with Google support last night and didn't get anywhere, other than them offering me a replacement phone. That said, the support person couldn't even send me an RMA link that didn't give a "Internal Server Error" no matter what device or network I used... Anyway I doubt my particular issue is a 7.1.1 issue?

Will a Vanilla Android ROM for Alcatel 1X be worth it?

Good day all, I purchased one of these cheapo Alcatel 1X models in hopes of doing some testing with MDM and Intune policies. Of course after receiving the device and exploring what little Android Go (Stripped down Oreo) had to offer, I quickly realized that these things right out of the box are not good for any type of corporate environment.
With Office 365 in particular, I cannot seem to even add a regular Mail account to connect to Office 365 services. Autodiscover does not work and even manually configuring Office 365 settings does not work either. It constantly fails with an Incorrect Login/Password message. Despite using the proper formatting of DOMAIN\Username and the old recommended Office 365 manual configuration steps.
Long story short, Android Go sucks for anything other than a grandma wanting a cheap smartphone.
I'd be very curious to see what a Vanilla Android ROM with Nougat could do for this device. At least in hopes of correcting any issues with ActiveSync/Office 365/Exchange connections. It could make for a very cheap sandbox style device for companies that are learning more about deploying device policies in a MDM environment.

try an Arm_A_only gsi image... it definitely is better than android GO
and after modifying the build.prop file to more closely match the one that came in the stock system.img the device seems to smooth out.

Xfinity Mobile SGS9 got stuck on Android 10 OTA :(

A few days ago Xfinity Mobile (or Samsung? I'm unsure) started pushing OTA update G965USQU7DTA5 (One UI 2 upgrade with Android 10).
I successfully updated mine SGS-9 but got stuck on wife's SGS-9 Probably, first attempt of download on this phone was interrupted (my wife went to store, and download was paused 'cause of no WiFi). But after that it's always stopped on 25% and saying "Couldn't download update: Unable to update the software. A network or server error occurred. Try later again". It's a bug in buggy Samsung software updater, I'm 100% positive, but how to fix that stuff without resetting the phone?
Phone is NOT rooted or unlocked; I googled for "offline update" instructions for stock, locked phones but can't find good, clear instructions.
Any suggestions, guys?
P.S. I've never done phone reset on SGS-9, how it works? Is it quick and safe enough? My wife's phone don't have sideloaded and/or pirated apps, everything by original, Google- & Samsung way.
Update: I resolved my issue by updating phone from PC, using Samsung's "Smart Switch" application - everything went smooth and easy.
P.S. Big thanks to this guide: https://thedroidguy.com/how-to-fix-...not-update-to-latest-software-version-1097987
Update 2: My question received no answers, even no attention but I still believe in people (generally)
So, after update to Android 10 on SGS9, my wife found what the new camera app is kinda downgrade: she doesn't likes new video mode full screen chooser (instead of "scroller") and some other small things. By the way, I clearly understood her: for example, on her SGS9 (updated via PC) video has, by default, bigger zoom than mine SGS9! It's kinda ridiculous but I understand, some parts of the software was written by Korean guys
My question is: could you provide some tips how to install stock camera app from the previous firmware (Android 9), without flashing back old firmware (I suspect what Sam-damn-sung and X****&nity will not support Android 9 anymore)?
Thank you!
P.S. I know how the google search works; I know even more - how xda-dev search works too but I can't find exact answer to my question, sorry!

I think it's more no one has xfinity. I was one of the few and first to have xfinity when I got my s8. xfinity is a weird setup compared to most phones. I had to ditch em when they charged me like 3 or 4 times in one month, it took me almost 4 months to get a refund.
With root you might be able to get the old camera working possibly. Or gcam I'm no developer so I wouldnt know the exacts. And I still run my xfinity s8 ???
