Hello! i have following situation; in order to connect to internet on my pc i need to connect to my wifi router by wifi or ethernet and then i need to dial broadband connection with my credentials (username and password) to connect to internet. I have Desire HD and i can connect with wifi to router and i have access to local network but in order to connect to internet i should dial broadband connection from DHD but i can not figure it how or i found application which would allow me this option. Does anybody have some idea how could i connect to internet from DHD from my home network?

I want to share my laptop internet connection through wifi but it is connected through proxy in my college. Can any one tell me how to do it? Normal adhoc connection is not working.

I think what you meant is trying to use your Defy's as mobile hotspot to connect your laptop which currently setting to your college internet proxy...
In windows 7 it can auto established to a multiple network connections.
The only thing you need to do is setting your internet option connection to which network you want to connect..
Goto Control panel - network & internet - internet option - connections - Lan settings - proxy server - uncheck everything..

Hi i used to create my own hotspots when i still had ADSL from my windows 7 machine. All my phones tablets other PC's would connect to it with no problem whatsoever.
I have found other uses for wifi networks that do not require an internet connection. Now seeing as i do not have an internet connection on my computer and some of these that i use only work if the network is not started by the phone, the hotspot has no internet connection.
This is where I think Android says screw the wifi without an internet connection lets use cellular to do things. The error it throws up is "Avoided Poor Internet Connection".
Is there a way to fix this without connecting the hotspot to an internet connection & without rooting or modding my M8?

Settings > Wifi > advanced
turn off auto-switch to mobile network
This should help
Another one in developer settings (however not ticked by default)
Settings > developer options
turn off aggressive wi-fi to cellular handover
These should help you if not already enabled. If they aren't then I'm afraid I don't know
Hi guys.
I realized after the 8.1 update my OnePlus is not able to detect if the connected WiFi network has internet or not. Last time when I was connecting to WiFi networks like my dash cam which has no internet I would still be online over my 4g.
Anyone has this issue ?
Hello there, i recently updated my mobile to Android 8.0 oreo and after that when I turn on my hotspot on this mobile and i tried connecting my laptoo to this hotspot, it shows connected but I'm unable to use the mobile internet connection on my laptop and it shows DNS error.
The same happened when i tried connecting another mobile to the same MOTO Z2 PLAY hotspot network.
I formatted my phone too but it seems that nothing is working, i tried to flush DNS and reset network and everything on my laptop but still it's not working..
Does anyone have the same issue on this device?? Try creating a hotspot and share your mobile data on another device and check if it's working or not

Instead of DHCP set static IP as 192.168.43.2/255.255.255.0 and DNS as 4.2.2.2
