Question Low voice messages volume - Google Pixel 6 Pro

hey guys!
is it just me or is the sound of voice messages played on the device really low compared to how the generell sound volume of media is? for example if i play voice msgs from my people i need to crank up the volume just to be blasted when listening to a youtube clip after that.
also: my voice messages seem to be quite low in volume too. this is in whatsapp and telegram too. i am speaking directly "to the screen" btw.
last but not least: my speed up button in whatsapp audios disappeared. does someone know this issue?
thanks so much!

Same problem with the low microphone volume: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-eg-whatsapp-duo-signal-telegram-etc.4402675/

Extremely low in call volume with carrier calls

Hello there,
With the last ota update,I hoped there would be a fix for that but not... I tried volume + which really helps for the speaker volume but not for the in call volume.
This volume is really low with regular calls while it's ok with other apps such as viber, Skype, csipsimple, etc. But most of my phone calls are passed through my carrier...
So if someone has an idea for this issue, that would be awesome as it is starting to be very annoying especially when outside. Cheers

MIC volume is very low when use with Facebook messenger

Hi Everyone
I am new member here and also new to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
I have a problem when using FACEBOOK MESSENGER. when I record a voice message in a chat, the volume is extremely low, I can barely hear the voice message after sending it, when I recieve a voice message from someone else, it is loud and clear, when listen to my own message, it is barely audible.
Does anyone has the same issue? any non rooting solution?
Thanks for reading.

No one use Facebook Messenger? no one can do a quick voice message recording test?

Notification sounds only coming from one speaker

Title says it all really. For example when i download a notification sound from the Zedge app and previewing it in there, the sound plays on both speakers (earpiece and bottom firing) but when a new SMS or E-mail comes in, that sound is only played through the bottom firing speaker. Anybody else experiencing this? It damn annoying because it's not as loud and I am more likely to miss that notification. Hopefully Google is aware and will fix it.
This was shared on the 3a forum. It seems the Pixel 3/2 have complaints on this topic with only bottom speaker working on calls. Could be on notifications, also?

No. Phone calls are fine. As a matter of fact, they sound fantastic. Probably because VoLTE with this phone works on my carrier. My issue is notifications. The sound when a new SMS, E-mail (via GMail) or Facebook messenger, among others. only comes through the bottom speaker instead than both. Thus they are not as loud as they should be. I am not having the issue in the forum you pointed me to. thanks for trying to help either way =)
Thanks for reporting back. I'll definitely be watching for this but glad to "hear" the call volume is good although I'm probably not going to have HD calling even though my AT&T PP account shows VoLTE is provisioned. Maybe I can test it out when the 3a comes by calling our iPhone SE as no one I call has VoLTE. Can you tell if call volume coming out of the bottom speaker only or both speakers?

Volume reduces significantly if video calls interrupted by cell phone calls

Hi Guys,
I have a peculiar problem. I run Android version 10 on One Plus 7T Version 10.3.2.HD65AA, Model HD1901
I do a lot of video calls on my job . When I am on a video call on a loud speaker and it is interrupted by cell phone call, even if i accept or reject the cell phone call, my loudspeaker volume significantly reduces to be inaudible levels .The volume is maximum , but its inaudible. I have to disconnect the video call and restart the phone to be able to converse on loud speaker. This is very irritating and affecting my job. I have tried to search a lot and have not found any effective answer . This happens even with headphones .
I notice this typically on whatsapp video call and browser based video calls like doxy.me. With zoom and google meet, i am logged out if i accept the cell phone call, so i have to rejoin the meetings and the sound level is audible.
I would really appreciate any piece of advice on solving this issue as its interfering with my job, besides being a nuisance.
PS : I have had to factory reset my phone twice recently for other reasons as below and it still has not solved this issue .
1. I had missing icons in my top shelf in contact app ( plus sign , delete button , hamburger bottom) and file app (hamburger sign , find button and delete bin) after one particular update
2. Had notification problems which again needed factory reset
Thank you all in advance

I did update to open beta 3. Unfortunately that has not helped.. The volume still went down when the phone call came.
This is frustrating honestly.
Thank you for your help though.

BUG: Phone speakers won't work after video calling
Device: Oneplus 7T on 10.0.9HD65AA
How to reproduce:
1. Video call using facebook messenger or similar app
2. Play music or video thru speakers, they won't work
3. Restart phone, speaker will work again
*note: there is a faint sound coming from the earpiece, like when you're calling someone
Already reported this to OnePlus. Very frustrating bug.

My problem could be this bug that u reported. Did they reply back to you?
I just had this happen when using MS Teams on a conference call. I had speakerphone enabled, and a call came in. I declined the call, but the Teams call switched to the earpiece (which was of lower volume). To fix, I just switched from Speaker, to Device and then back to Speaker. This happens on AOSP (on my OnePlus 5T) as well.
I don't think it's an Oxygen problem, but it's something that can likely be fixed if they know about it.

After installing AOSP on the 7T, this continues to happen with Microsoft Teams meetings when I have speaker enabled, receive a phone call and decline it, and it switches automatically to earpiece.
The solution of switching to earpiece in Teams and then back to speaker fixes it. All without disconnecting from the meeting.

So this did work for me. Today when the volume reduced after a phone call during my zoom meeting, I plugged in my ear phones and then removed them after 2 min, the volume was back to full and audible.
Thanks a lot for this tip. It's a life saver for me. Really appreciate it.

You're welcome. It's more of a workaround because it seems audio routing is just wonky in Android. I'm not sure if iOS does this but I can test that later with wife's phone.

Yep! Same here, MS Teams meeting, BT headset, dropped incoming call to voicemail and meeting volume became inaudible, so I had to drop and reconnect. Very inconvenient, especially because I was the meeting's host. I will try to switch audio device in Teams next time, kudos for that!

Question Low microphone volume

Anyone else having this occur? I'm sending voice clips on fb messenger and the volume is insanely low, even on playback.

It is the same on Pixel 6 too. To me it sounds like all of the sound messages somehow down-sampled to some terrible sample rate and the gain is very low true. If you record with the regular sound recorder and send the recorded audio on the receiving side sounds perfect. Only the messages which are recorded with WhatsApp, messenger, Signal etc they're sounding really terrible.

It may be just on stock. I'm curious if anyone on a custom ROM has this issue.
The problem still present on SQ1D.220205.003 (February) update (unfortunately)
How is that possible to have such a problem with one of the main feature of the device that long without fix? I mean this isn't just a 'cosmetic' issue. Is there anyone here who can compare the quality of the audio messages on stock and custom ROM?
Same problem here.Low microphone volume on whatsapp messages. On the recorder app its good .....
I have added my measurements here:
Bad Microphone quality speech intelligibility in messaging apps eg WhatsApp, Duo, Telegram
Hello Since I have my Pixel 6 all of my messaging partners (WhatsApp, Duo, Signal, Telegram etc) are telling me audio problems including bad quality, low volume, and not last poor speech intelligibility. The problem happens in live call/video...
forum.xda-developers.com
(As my device is Pixel 6 and not Pro, I had to open a new topic in the Pixel 6 forum, but the problem is identical)
