Can someone confirm that I'm able to flash this official firmware pls? - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

I just picked up an S20 Ultra 512gb SM-G988B/DS.
It's got O2 bloat firmware on it so it's O2U/O2U/O2U/EUX/O2U
I want to flash the 'non carrier' firmware which I assume is BTU?
So, looking at Sammobile I think the latest version from here....
Download Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra SM-G988B BTU United Kingdom firmware
All Samsung firmwares for Galaxy S20 Ultra in United Kingdom with model code SM-G988B. We offer free and fast download options. Check them out now.
www.sammobile.com
I think the one dated 3rd Nov SCDUJ5 is the correct one.
Now, if I flash using Odin (or suggestions for another app if Odin is now too out of date) will it totally wipe the phone or will the current apps still be in situ?
I ask as I have some financial apps installed which are a PiTA to reinstall due to 3 factor authentication being needed for initial setup.
Thanks in advance

Starting with Bootloader v2 firmware, the S10+ no longer requires specific firmware for each carrier. You can flash any U build, and the phone will load up appropriate carrier "bloat" based on the SIM card inserted. You can still flash U1 firmware in order to have no carrier bloat.

*NOTE* This firmware is free of all carrier bloat, but will also cause you to lose some features, depending on your carrier.
TMO - Advanced Messaging and Video Calling
SPR - Unknown
ATT - VoLTE, WiFi Calling, Advanced Messaging
VZW - Unknown - used to be WiFi Calling, but it has been reported to work on the S10+
Downloads Moved to Post #2The Samsung Galaxy S10 series of devices with Snapdragon chipsets are universally compatible with each other's firmware, and can be swapped between Carrier-branded and US unbranded. This thread is for the S10+ and you will find firmware links in the next post.
Before downloading, please read some important notes:
You must use a modified version of Odin to flash these firmwares
You can update to a newer build of the same carrier firmware and keep your data intact if you use the CSC HOME
You must be SIM unlocked if you are trying to use a SIM from a different carrier than you purchased the device from
Flashing the U1 Unbranded firmware will remove carrier bloat, but it will NOT affect SIM lock status
In order to convert between U and U1 firmware, you MUST factory reset and leave your SIM card in the device after flashing in order for the conversion to be successful

It wasn't available as of my posting the other day. I'm away for the weekend, but can check tomorrow night to see if it's available to grab.

Sorry I'm a little new to Samsung firmware flashing. But I have an unlocked Snapdragon S10+ that I'm using on T-Mobile would I be able to flash this update and then been on the T-Mobile variant firmware or will I need to flash something different as this is a small update?
Looking to get all the benefits I can from T-Mobile firmware like advanced messaging that I heard the T-Mobile variants get.
Thank you!

You have an S10+ directly from Samsung? Yes, you can flash the T-Mobile firmware and will essentially have a TMO device. You will need to wipe your data in order to convert properly from U1 to U firmware.
Does the T-Mobile Firmware include all of the T-Mobile bloatware apps?

Any non-U1 firmware will have the carrier bloat. Your SIM card determines what gets installed.
Added the U1 Unbranded firmware in Post #1
Can you flash the U1 unbranded firmware on a Verizon phone or do you need a U1 firmware for Verizon to remove all the carrier bloatware and restrictions?

U1 can be flashed on all Snapdragon S10+ single SIM models. You will have to factory reset after flashing in order to convert properly.

I have a verizon SM-G975U. It's unlocked and I use a TMobile sim. Can I simply flash the TMB firmware using odin on the verizon s10+ and it will be branded as Tmobile?
I contacted Samsung and they have not released the BYOD update yet like they have with my S9+, where the firmware automatically updates with whatever sim card is in the phone.

Not sure what BYOD update you're referring to. You can flash the U1 firmware and have a phone working on T-Mobile, but without Advanced Messaging and Video Calling from the dialer. Or you can flash the TMO firmware and have all features supported, including the light bloatware included.

Thanks.
When I change sim cards from one carrier to another carrier, it automatically changes the firmware. It does it on my S9+. Example: I have a verizon sim in my S9+, everything is all verizon, bloatware, startup screen etc. If I put my Tmobile sim in, it changes everything to tmobile, splash screen and all tmobile bloatware and verizon is removed. After looking to see why it does this, it's an update from Samsung that they put out called BYOD (bring your own device.) Only available for s8 and s9 models right now.

I thought it would have done it on the S10+ but it's not available yet.

Hmm. I'd be surprised if the S10 series don't already support it, and the rep you spoke to was confused. The S8 and Note 9 did it fresh out of the box, verified personally by me when I switched both of my TMO devices to VZW for updates not yet available to TMO.

Nope, it doesn't support it yet. I wish it did but I guess I'll just flash the firmware to TMobile's.

I have a question if you don't mind. I just flashed my S10 Plus unlocked U1 version to the AT&T variant of the U version firmware. Right now I am on G975USQU1ASAT. I believe the G975UQU1ASBA is the newest update. I don't see the update on my phone via OTA though. Is it just slower for AT&T or I will need to flash it manually using Odin for all updates going forward?

Do you have VoLTE and WiFi Calling available? If you do not, then AT&T isn't recognizing your IMEI and won't push the OTAs to you.

Yes I can use VoLTE and WiFi calling after flash from U1 to U. This is actually the main reason why I did the flash. I am a bit concerned about no OTA update yet though.

Safe to update to latest patch? Without breaking root / twrp?

Awful quiet around here guess everyone bought the tab s6!
I noticed an update available this August 2019. Has anyone flashed their tab s4 with Odin? And then rooted once again? I'm using a t835n and plan to get the t835 international version. But I want to be sure I can root after.
Another question - on sammobile they have so many different country options for the t835 international model. What is the actual difference? I use my device in USA so what would be the best version to flash so that I have the most bands for my carrier (TMobile). Or does flashing firmware not have the effect I am thinking on bands?
Thanks!

That's a very good question.
Are you on Oreo or Pie?
My guess, based on the rooting guides I've been reading is the one for the country that you bought the device from. I think you are on the Korean version, so I would think that would be the ideal update to use on the device and then just use it in English.
As for the S6, I'm inclined to buy another (3rd) S4 because the lack of the headphone jack is intolerable for me.
I will ask in the Note 9 forum, but do you happen to know the international version of the Note 9 that is the equivalent of the Korean 6GB Tab S4? They dropped the headphone jack on that one too. I use it to get radio on my phone.
So I rooted the Korean 6GB versions that was factory shipped with the most recent and up to date Oreo firmware and it rooted just fine. I'm missing a few apps but I'm not sure why that is (weird like missing email, internet, calculator, some google crap...). I'm trying to figure out why, but I NEVER let it connect to the internet for any reason yet. I sideloaded some of the apps and it seems fine. I'm going to check with my other Tab S4 6GB that is on the original stock firmware from the beginning to see if those apps were ever there in the first place tonight and post in the TWRP thread.
Root is fine. So I think you will be fine with the most recent firmware for Oreo. I suggest getting the Korean (region specific) firmware for your specific device.

It took me a little googling but it did turn up. Sammobile site didn't fine it for me, I had to google to get it, even thought it was still the samobile site where I found it. I didn't download any successfully yet.

S20+ SM-G986W can use firmware SM-G986U Tmobile????

Anybro out there know if Canadian S20+ SM-G986W can flash SM-G986U ? The reason I ask because Canadian firmware take LONGGGG time to update. And I saw Android 11 firmware on the Tmobile. Please let me know. Thank you very much for your time, and much appreciated.
I flashed my SM-G981W with the G981U1 firmware (CSC XAA) back in April 2020 and now I'm running G981U from t-mobile (CSC TMB with OneUI 3.0) with no issues so far outside of samsung pay not accepting my CC due to it wanting a zip code and not a postal code. I use google pay anyway so it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

Thank you for your reply. WHILE reading your response, I am on one UI 3.0 T-Mobile too. It worked on 986W Canadian version.

Nope. I used Odin to flash the image I downloaded using Frija and then used the HOME_CSC_OMC_OYN_xxx file as the csc.

Any way to flash official firmware.

. Ex girlfriend some how cloned my phone and my did says my s20 ultra is a s9. Please help
Yes. Use Frija or similar to download firmware.
