I have a redmi note 8 pro and whenever I play pubg on mobile data the ping fluctuates alot one second it will be 70ms next it goes till 130ms,150ms ,160ms,230ms ,400ms back to 90ms,75ms,120ms,100ms and it keeps doing so on and on ,my internet connection is good and stable and I use 4G, I have tried disabling game turbo and enabling it , restarting device , installing Pubg again ,restricting data usage and disabling background data in all apps except pubg ,but the ping still isn't stable ,I am on MIUI 12.5.5.
However when I use wi-fi the ping is stable ,what should I do to fix this issue ?

Considering my experience I can tell that RN8P is not capable to use the full coverage provided by GSM... provider(s)

Have 250Mbit broadband and with my Samsung I get full speed (I'm in the same room as router) but with honor 8 pro I got 140Mbit o my one time. Now it's so slow as 7Mbit.. Tried reseting device several times.. And in WiFi settings I have excellent connection. It saying 433Mbit but on Samsung it says 768Mbit.. Please help me out? Kind regard Dexter
I'm suffering the same issue! 5G speed slows down till it switches to mobile data or just gets stalled, connected but without data moving at all.
Not related to my router, because I've "enjoyed" this issue at home, at the office, airports, friend's places... Always the same behavior: speed goes down till no data flow at all, but still connected to 5G WiFi
I am also facing same problem what happens with honor ui i contact to customer support of honor they told me that u have to hard reset the device by in booting menu then i got fine but after 2 days wifi speed goes down on honor 8 pro seriously then I'm waiting for developers rom but there is no official rom available for this device :crying:??
Same here.. I've got Netgear r6220 router and the max link speed i m getting is 390mbps on 5ghz.
Basically the Redmi note 5 Pro and Ai are really slow for internet speeds, unstable I compared it to Samsung S7. This post talks about the same problem.

It was so slow i was going to sell this.
When using a custom roms, the LTE connection would turn off even tho it was turned on, you click it and it says turn off LTE connection even tho it's already stopped working, no LTE icon present. Then after turning it off and turning it back on it works again, till it randomly disconnects itself again. Restarting the phone while LTE was working would normally mean it had the same problem when phone started up, LTE icon missing internet not working you click on it and it says turn it off, it's on but not working.
MIUI didn't seem to disconnect those issues above still hopelessly slow speeds however.
I found someone else who suggested flashing a modem to fix it, however this didn't work for me as there's a massive list modems i tried and didn't fix it below. Had to use aeroplane mode after each modem flash and turn it off and wait a bit before turning on LTE to get a connection.
What did fix it was this post i came across from another person.
As far as I see it's issue with MIUI9. What is my conclusion so far is, with MIUI9, there is an issue with network switching like from 4g to 2g or 3g and the phone gets briefly disconnected from network . This is more often when you use data than voice.
I use two sim cards so I've currently got my data sim set to LTE only and my calling sim is just on WCDMA as soon as i did that my download speeds match my S7 just as fast which wasn't even close to been possible before i did this. So i'm convinced that the persons post is correct and it keeps disconnecting from 4G to try and connect to 3G and results in an unstable connection. That and i ran speedtests against all those modems listed and couldn't get these speeds.
It might be possible to set my calling sim to WCDMA/LTE and data to only LTE not tested so far, so its working but if i lose LTE connection it would normally drop to WCDMA so with LTE only that could be problematic. Doesn't seem to disconnect anymore and maintains the LTE during phone restarting.

I just got the Mi 8 Lite yesterday. The speeds showing for mobile data on the phone are really slow... and downloads from the Play Store take forever (a few seconds for each MB). Trying to download the Android 9.0 update was painfully slow. Eventually I resorted to putting the SIM back into my old device and using that as a hotspot to update my phone via "wi-fi".
I have now placed the SIM back into the Mi 8 Lite and the mobile speeds are still slow. I'm really confused, however, because when I use the Mi 8 Lite as a hotspot to share the data with my old device, the downloads on that phone are quick.
So it seems that the Mi 8 Lite is just struggling to make internal use of the data speed that it is actually receiving from my network... it still transfers the full speed to other devices via the hotspot.
Any suggestions?

i have a note 8 pro and i connect it to any wifi and it gets normal speed ( i can see in testspeed app ) and also in browsers i have my normal speed . but in youtube or facebook or whatsapp sometime i totally lose the connection ( its connected but it has no internet .

I am also facing this issues on Redmi Note 8 Pro. It is time to shift to some other provider because it is problem of MIUI, they have installed some tweak regarding the Games and payment apps. It is like they put the mobile internet on Metered Connection by default, causing the slowness of the speed, unless you are downloading something or using the mobile data on hotspot mode. It is super frustrating. Company did it to force users to keep their mobile on wifi connection as much as possible, which will help them in Data Minning. Smart phone are now very risky these days. People want simple stock android with some useful features instead of these policy cappings.
i am using redmi 6 pro from 3 years but now one problem is coming. the problem is that my phone is only getting half of internet speed on wifi as compared to other devices. its ping is very high. i am connected to a wifi network which is my home wifi . all other mobile laptop are getting full speed but my phone is getting half speed and sometimes it drops to 0. i have flashed it with custom rom & official rom but nothing is happening. please help me to solve this problem
im having a random issue in my device in which when i connect to my wifi i get network speed then somehow after around 10 second or so the speed drops so slow that i cant even send a whatsapp message even youtube streaming or any other thing that requires net doesnt work i have dual band wifi so if i switch to my other wifi then its the same case so basically when ever i need to do something or send a message i need to switch wifi so the messages get delivered and then to recheck if there are any notification or any message i just have to again reconnect wifi plz give a solution either this is a software issue or a hardware issue
My Redmi Note 8 Pro WiFi also keeps on disconnecting. Running on Stock MIUI 12.0.5, Non rooted device.
Redmi NOTE 11T 5G & Note 7 Pro plagued with Ping spikes during gaming on both Mobile Data and Wifi. PLEASE HELP. Other devices have nice ping on same wifi at same time.

These lag spikes might be from performance, is your phone overheating?
