Question Always on Display does not functioning - Nubia Red Magic 6

Hi experts!
I have an unsolved mystery since i bought this RM 6pro global version 7 months ago. I just can't keep this out of my head since then. I tried to re-set the AOD settings, reboot this phone even tried to factory reset multiple times, back to default launcher instead of NOVA i am using now to see it is functioning but never be that lucky enough. It still not showing the AOD when i locked the screen. Is there any assistance to help me get it functioning like others global version phone?

[Q] launcher crash every once n awhile

Hi, im running AndroidNow 6.1 and since i installed ot for the first time(version 3.2) my launcher crushes every once n awhile.
It happens with stock, google, nova or any other launcher - i prefer stock.
What happens really is, when i press home/back to exit an app to the homescreen, there pops the recent apps screen(with no open apps visible)and when i press home again to exit this screen , i see blank home page and then the icons refresh and everything reload. Latet when i open the app drawer i experience a little lag that the icons are reloaded also.
What seems to be the problem? Im rooted and ive got clean master but i dont think its related.
Please help me, thanks.
Am i the only one who experience this?
Happened to me few times. You are using 3rd party launcher?
Ps. You dont need clean master
i use the stock one,but it happned with all . why shouldn't i use it?
Tell me why you should?
This devices does not need that. It does more harm then use.
I love the feature that it prevents apps from starting on boot up.
Do you know how to solve my problem with the launcher crash?
I have the exact same problem.
This happened with the stock ROM and any launcher I tried.
Then I flashed a custom ROM (based on stock though), progressively reinstalled applications and after some time, the problem came again. Then, I progressively froze some applications with Titanium Backup, and now it happens much less than before (2-3 times a day against everytime I press "home").
My conclusion is that, even though that's a launcher crash we see, the fault probably comes from a background application. I'm still searching which one. Did you find something interesting since you opened the topic?
Have you installed hotmail app from play store?

What I did recently was to :
- Disable the application "LIA Informant"
- Disable the application "LIA MrGDBLogger"
- Disable the application "LIA S4URecommender"
- Clear the cache (click on Settings > Storage > Data in cache)
The problem happened several times in a day before, but only occured a few times in weeks since I did this trick. The workaround was probably clearing the cache. But since the problem gradually came back after the last time I reinitialized the phone, I'm still afraid it comes back sooner or later.
I did clear cache a few times now - it always comes back.
Would be great if someone could find a fix for that, because it's very annoying.
The bad thing is that there is no send error report option. At least there would be a starting point with an error info etc.
Have you tried disabling the applications mentionned above?
I (almost) chose them randomly, but it really made a difference for me and the problem doesn't seem to come back.
Done that just now.
Will post back with the results in some time.
Do you maybe know what those apps do ? (I like to know what I'm turning off in case of any other problems)
GDB (in the Unix world) is a debugger. I have no reason to think that this GDB is the same though, I just guessed the problem should come from a system application and this one may be one.
Turning off those apps made no difference.
Was thinking that it may be one of the widgets on the home screen.
Later today, or maybe tomorrow I'll make a list of what I'm using and post it here - maybe this way we'll get whats causing this.
The only widgets I have now are Zooper Widget and Shuttle+.
But honestly, since the problem makes any launcher crash (and I think any application left in foreground when the screen turns off), I believe the root of the problem a system app/optimization, and likely one from LG since not many people seem to complain.
I hope 5.1.1 will come soon to the G3.
Any news on any update ? (not necessarily to 5.1.1)
Udated to 20p yesterday - clean update (just to be sure I've wiped 3 times - 1 before and 2 after the update).
Had a couple of hours of peace, and then it started again.

Help thread. HTC one m8, Started having several issues !

Hi community,
I've been using my Htc one m8 (locked with Rogers) for a little over a year now with no issues. It's not rooted, running sense 6 android 5.0.1 for awhile.
All of a sudden several issues started creeping up: first double tap to wake up stopped working, and the shortcut to the camera (turning phone side ways and pressing volume down). Then the proximity sensor stopped working. later on i noticed that nfc wouldn't turn on and the phone didn't know if it was on landscape mode or portrait (making it an issue when viewing pictures or videos) and this were all in the lapse of 24hours.
so I factory reset it and it seemed to work for a couple of hours but then all the issues creeped back (NOT all at the same time). At this point I thought it was because of an app or my back up. SO factory reset it again and set up as new device but this time it didn't fix the issue at all .
After that I tried factory factory reset it a couple of more times with no success, tried having my phone fixed but I couldn't find a store in montreal that is willing to try and fix it (they all say if the open the phone they might wreak it ??!!)
Called htc they asking me to send the phone by mail for 100$ and then they'll tell me how much it cost to fix it.
As far as i know the phone didn't drop ! and has the latest updates
Can anyone help me? do you think flashin a rom will fix this or does it sound more like hardware issue?
I appreciate any help/tips you can give
thank you
Looks like you got not that much to lose. Try a different ROM.

Chime in if you recently are getting random reboots/bootloops/"optimizing apps"/etc

Chime in if you recently are getting random reboots/bootloops/"optimizing apps"/etc
Over the past few days my G4 has been infinitely more laggy that before, and then started getting random reboots, bootloops, and occasionally would "optimize apps" at startup multiple times in a row. When it shuts off on its own, 50%+ i have to do a battery pull to get it to start again and then it may bootloop or never even make it past the LG or the AT&T screen.
At this point my phone is unusable and a warranty replacement is on the way. It wont stay on for more than a few minutes tops. I'm getting fearful there is some flaw that is emerging if other people are experiencing the same thing around the same time.
This is on an AT&T 810, rooted on 10e firmware.
If you're also having issues, list your model/firmware as well.
Thanks,
yes!
I literally just had the same type of question haha! http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/optimizing-apps-1-233-rising-t3224808
I have the H815, running on 10b firmware
Its so strange i hope someone can help!
Do you by chance have xposed installed? This started happening on my Note 3 after I updated to L and installed xposed. If not, I don't know the problem but if it's xposed, prolly have to remove it.
I had this happen to the point where the phone wouldn't boot up anymore, it would hang on Android, and then fade to black. I sent this issue to the sprint store and got a brand new LG G4 in 5 days. Just get warranty and say the phone won't turn on, and get a factory fresh LG G4 in a week or so.

Have a warranty on the way, my concern is the warranty phone will be on a later firmware with the anti rollback counter past the point of no bootloader unlock in the future. We shall see. Shame its working out this way.

Some ideas
YES. I joined just to post this reply lol. I have an unlocked H815 (Bought from Amazon, included documentation was in Czech, Slovak, and English) and I've been having this issue for weeks now. I couldn't find much on google and thought it was just my device, but now it seems more and more people are having the same problem. It is incredibly frustrating and it hurts.
Symptoms:
- Randomly (6-7 out of 10 times I want to use the phone for whatever) it'll throw itself into a reboot frenzy til it decides to stop doing it whenever, usually after 5-15 reboots or about 5-15 minutes.
- During the reboots, sometimes it'll reboot even before the phone boots up at all (on the LG boot animation).
- And for the times it does boot up, it'll reboot again within up to 20 seconds or so.
- Some reboots are immediate - phone shuts off and turns on again immediately randomly. But for some reboots, the phone freezes briefly before the reboot. On some of these freezes, there's a horizontal screen glitch at different heights every time.
- During the reboots the phone overheats considerably.
- The battery drains very quickly during the reboots. Percentage "skips" occur frequently.
- It also sometimes "optimizes" apps...
- The number of apps it needs to optimize for whatever reason can be different (I pulled the battery out several times when it was "optimizing", and the number would vary; though it did not boot at all until it finished "optimizing" apps, which took forever).
- Not sure if related, but just 3 days ago completely out of the blue overnight (no updates or anything) the camera developed a green blotch on the upper right-ish side too; seems to go away or get stronger depending on lighting. On google I found a Taiwanese H815 having an identical problem too so it can't be a hardware problem; also due to the fact that it almost immediately disappears when a different camera app is launched under the same conditions (such as Snapchat).
Device:
- Unlocked H815 European model.
- Kernel version 3.10.49
- Build number: LMY47D
- Software version: V10d-EUR-XX
- No root. No unlocked BL. All stock except the launcher (Nova). Plenty of storage space.
- Network is T-Mobile and have a 32GB MicroSD inserted.
What I've tried so far:
- Tried using the phone without SIM card. Did not help.
- Tried using the phone without MicroSD inserted. Did not help.
- Factory reset and immediate restore from LG backup. Did not help.
- Factory reset and no restore - only contacts. Seemed to work fine for almost a day, then problem came back. Probably a coincidence it ran okay for a bit.
- Since the phone overheated and the battery drained very quickly during the reboot spells, it stood to reason that the CPU was being stressed considerably. Most likely by some app or process obviously.
- Tried disabling some "stock" apps after a clean factory reset (the stock apps were the only apps on the device). Tried Google Play Services, and most other Google apps. Tried a few LG apps too. None worked.
- Tried updating some "stock" apps after a clean factory reset; same apps as above. None worked.
- From developer menu, enabled "Show CPU usage". The goal was to see what processes are running during the problem to see if it's associated with a memory leak or a CPU stress. No process seemed to stand out. No memory or CPU leaks as far as I could tell.
- Enabled event, kernel, main, memory, power, radio, and system log from hidden menu (277634#*# -> SVC Menu -> Log Service -> Log Enable). After a random reboot, copied log files to sd card from the same menu in hidden menu and tried to analyze them to see if there was a smoking gun. Logs are huge and I merely looked at the end of them, but to no avail so far. Interestingly though it seems the kernel log was cut mid-line on the last entry...
- I also noticed that after a factory reset, if you opt not to restore from a backup, the phone requires an internet connection to be set up. After the phone is ready for use, the Software version is listed as V10d-EUR-XX. The phone did not ship with this version. I believe it was V10a. For whatever reason, even after a clean factory reset, the phone runs the seemingly latest Software version. Not sure if this information is of any use, but it may be relevant.
I love this phone and when I got it, it was working absolutely flawless. Now with the software updates it seems it's just gotten buggier by the day to the point which it's pretty much unusable now, very disappointed. Hopefully this info will be useful to some of you out there.

Really not impressed by LG so far (First Lg Phone i own).
i think i'm gonna chime in....
these kind of things happened on my fellow G4 user here (H818P)
one of them have found and proven that on his V10D H818P, if the phone stays on for longer than 30 minutes, every reboot will start as optimizing apps
and one of them had worse luck: he was laying his G4 on his work desk and when he's about to open a newly arrived text message, the phone suddenly reboots and bootloops until no end.
thankfully one of them got the mainboard replaced, while one of them is still waiting for the warranty to be processed
Same issue is happening with my H815 now - unrooted and no modifications. Constant reboot loops or if it does boot up, it'll shut off randomly and go back to the reboot loop. Unfortunately, I have the Taiwan version and live in the US, so I think warranty coverage is not likely.

Question Pixel 6 pro gestures

Hello guys.
I have a question about tap to wake and lift-to-wake functions on my pixel 6 pro. They stopped working
I noticed, that if I restart the phone in safe mode they work.
Next, I tried to disable Bluetooth and restart the device, and they work fine. Once i turn on the Bluetooth function they stopped.
After some period, they come and work fine.
Last week I received a small update, and after the update, they again stopped.
I tried to clean Bluetooth cache, and everything without success.
Anybody with idea how to fix this stupid issue.
I am really pissed off and definitely will sell the phone if i am unable to fix this.
I
Anyone with idea how to fix this ****, or just to give up and sell the device?
I haven't seen this issue. My Pixel 6 Pro always wakes up when I lift it off a table. Are you rooted and use Magisk Modules, and/or a custom kernel? Using LSposed Modules?
If not rooted, the only suggestion I would make is to try a factory reset, and don't restore all your apps - maybe some particular app is interfering with it, but I'm just guessing and could be wrong. Only restore back the apps that you absolutely need to start with, see if you don't have the issue for days, then if no issue, restore some more apps.
Good luck.

If things work in safe mode then it's likely something you installed that is interfering. The Rode Warrior's advise is wise
Hello guys.
Phone is stock up to date, without root, magisk or other stuffs.
I don't think that it's 3rd party app.
I uninstalled almost all apps that can caused the problem and nothing..
Any way or program that can scan for bad app?

There are lots of anti-virus programs, but as to scanning specifically for an app that's causing you this issue, no, not that I know of. I stick with what I suggested in post #3.

Question Advice on choice between rooting and installing a new Rom

Hi I have the OnePlus 9 pro running Android 12. Stock, with all updates. I have gotten fed up with the operating system resetting my choices on battery optimization and permissions. This is related to notifications. I do not receive notifications from apps unless I have both made them a battery optimization exemption, and manually given them all requested permissions. But every time I restart my phone, or if there is an update, the operating system resets all of these changes to default, effectively silencing all notifications from these apps until I manually change them again. It's upsetting enough that I have to make these changes in order to get notifications. The fact that the system resets them all of the time is just annoying. Can I disable the system resetting these changes if I root my phone only? Or is it necessary for me to install a Rom that doesn't do this to my apps? On a side note I use Nova launcher because I dislike the lack of customization from OnePlus operating system. Thank you for any advice you can give me
TL;DR: OnePlus resets my battery optimization choices and my permission choices regularly. Can I fix this If I root or is a new ROM necessary to stop this?

That's really odd that it's doing this to you. Never had this issue on any of my OP devices. Including stock OOS and custom ROM's. Which variant do you have, which firmware are you running, have you tried factory resetting then setting up your device and seeing if the issue persists?

Thank you for replying. My phone says it's Android 12 with the August 5, 2022 security patch.
Build # is LE2125_11_C.63,
Baseband version is Q_V1_P14,
kernel version is 54147-qgki-g2f286f199c5a,
Hardware version is LE2125_12.
I have not tried factory resetting yet, and if I get a new software that would happen anyway, so I suppose it's worth a shot. The phone also likes to reset some apps. Like the Twilight blue light filter app. I woke up one day to find the phone had reset the app back to default, and I had to set it up and all it's permissions up all over again. I didn't realize this wasn't normal because when I searched, I couldn't find anyone with the same problem. I just thought the battery optimization was super extreme this time around. I'll backup my favorite apps and try a reset and see if that works. Thank you again for responding.

Weird that when I woke up, Repainter reset my system theme I was using and even though it's still enabled app-side, it's disabled system-side. Now I gotta figure out why lol. I would recommend factory resetting for sure first to see if that helps at all. Make a full system/internal backup and copy it to your PC before doing so. Feel free to reach out if it worked or didn't work for you.

Thanks, I did go through that page already. Most of those menu options aren't present in the OnePlus 9 pro on Android 12, and the rest I tried but nothing changed. For example, I have my blokada app locked in the recent apps, but choosing "close all" closes it in spite of this. Just another mark against OnePlus' software.

I think you jinxed me. Repainter hasn't been working all day and the xda app won't let me login for some reason. It logs in, but still shows the key icon and none of my subscribed threads load. That's really odd that when you lock an app in recents, it still clears regardless. Which launcher are you using? When I was on OOS, I used Nova and when I locked apps in recents and hit 'clear all', said app would still remain. I didn't care to use OOS12, once I realized there was no color code theme option, I went back to OOS11 until I took the plunge to update my fw to use Nameless again.
