Question Does pixel 6 pro work on 5G in non official countries? - Google Pixel 6 Pro

I'm thinking about buying and using the 6 pro to travel. Will the unlocked 6 pro get 5G outside the official countries where google sells the device, on networks that are 5G (and where the pixel has the bands)?

Unfortunately, it currently does not. I'm sending daily messages to support in my phone settings about it, probably it won't help, but at least I can spam as much as I want.
People don't talk about it enough for google to get off its ass and finally do something about it

Which country are you in that it doesn't work

At the moment I'm in Poland

5G and VoLTE don't work for me in China on a 5G plan that supports VoLTE and has it enabled at the carrier level.

It seems VoLTE works here in China after using this magisk module.

Hi, Is there any way to turn on VoLTE in countries where you can't buy pixel phones? I bought my pixel 6 from Germany but I live in Hungary. Thanks!

I've installed and I can enable VoLTE however when I call people there is quite a lot of distortion. That could just be how distorted the calling is anyway so I will test with and without later.

I tested it and there isn't an obvious audio quality improvement with VoLTE so I just left it on.

I do not believe you will get either 5G or volte outside of the 8 or 9 official countries where the pixel was launched. So it really depends where you go. Saying that, I sold my pixel 6 pro so you would need to have someone else answer this as perhaps it changed in the last update

the google pixel forums have hundreds of posts from people saying they are using a Pixel 6 in a country where it isnt offically sold and they have no 5G or VoLTE.

Guys read this https://www.xda-developers.com/goog...0.1172458839.1642336754-1276989149.1628205188
What I read from this is the the Pixel 6 is much more limited to the 5G offering, where as the 6 Pro generally covers both 5G offerings. So if you got your phone from UK, it does not support mmWave, if your provider in Poland is this then your out of luck, you could try sending your phone back and choosing a carrier or country that support both then you could be in luck.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Global (9.6.7.0) Freedom Mobile LTE?

Hello
I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with the Global version the Mi Max 3. Did i make a mistake of purchasing a Freedom Mobile LTE incompatible phone? Or it should be asking myself whether this is really the Global Version?
Boot-loader seems locked, box in proper English with UK adapter, that makes me think its the Global version.
When i put my sim card in Data works, SMS works, but no phone calls in or out, even tho in the Network options Freedom is fully detected as the HOME network.
Any ideas?

No, I'm in Brazil and here are other operators. These are the bands that the unit has:
2G bands GSM 850/900/1800/1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
CDMA 800 & TD-SCDMA
3G bands HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100
4G bands - LTE band 1 (2100), 3 (1800), 4 (1700/2100), 5 (850), 7 (2600), 8 (900), 20 (800), 34 (2000), 38 (2600 ), 39 (1900), 40 (2300), 41 (2500)
See if your operator has the machine's bands.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news my friend but yes, you did just buy a phone incompatible with Freedom Mobile as I just did the same lol. Yes, messaging and data does work but you'll never get phone calls to work. I was wondering if it was worth sticking with Freedom anyways because of the deals but in the end I decided to switch over to Fido which works fine with the Mi Max 3. Also the version I have is def the Global Version (9.6.7.0) as I checked on the official website.

Haha yeah closure def makes things easier to handle. Tbh the phone is good enough that if you don't make a lot of phone calls it's still worth it but the problem for me is that in order to unlock your bootloader you need to get permission from Xiaomi. In order to get permission you need to have your device linked with your Mi Account. And in order to to that a confirmation text has to be sent (think Whatsapp). However, even tho you can send a text normally this automatic one fails to send on the Freedom network. So basically if you want to do any rooting whatsoever you'll need a SIM from somewhere like Rogers or Fido which ended up being the deciding factor for me aha.
If you have no plans on rooting then you should be fine :good:
Your phone should connect on LTE band 4 with Freedom Mobile. Mine connects flawlessly on LTE bands 4 and 7 with Telus.

No, actually there are different LTE bands available per region. The difference is less significative than, for instance, on 1+7, but they're still there (and the reason why I need to get the NA version, in my case).

So did having read that, if there is a 256GB EU version, get that as it has the B66, according to the Connectivity section: Bands (EU) FDD-LTE:B1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,25,26,28,29,32,66
but I don't think they did
No 256gb variant that was released has band 66.

Appreciate this insight man!!
I'm in the US, NYC/NJ. I was super torn. I wanted to upgrade my op5. I wasn't a big fan of the pop up camera or the curved edges of the 7 Pro...plus I wanted a T.
The MacLaren edition is really nice, but...popup camera and like 400 more than the Chinese 7T. I couldn't justify it. So I took a chance and ordered the HD1900 Chinese version of the 7T with 265gb. So far, after about two weeks, it's excellent. I have no issues with not having a fast connection

Got the 7T rooted...no problems. Not used to doing it without TWRP, but it all worked fine. Magisk, root all working flawlessly. For 500, the 256gb hd1900 has been excellent. I know it didn't have band 66 (or something) but in NYC and Quebec I haven't noticed any problems. I'm coming from an OP5 and mobile connectivity is at least as good with the OP7T HD1900.
For me, the decision came down to value. I wanted the 256gb, which ruled out the US OP7T. The OP7 Pro is nice and I came close to choosing it but I don't like the curved screen edges and I'm not a fan of the pop up camera. The notch doesn't bother me. So, no 7T pro either. The t-mobile McLaren edition was tempting...12gb ram, 5g. But at almost twice the price...not worth it. So far very happy with the hd1900 in the US with the 256gb.
Once I got it rooted, of course.

Question LE2120 unlock 5G EU Bands

Hi,
my wife bought a brand new Oneplus 9 Pro as a present for me from Ebay.
They say that is "European International Version", infact it runs Oxygen OS 11.2.6.6.LE15BA.
A few days after receiving the gift I asked my operator (Fastweb) to enable 5G because it doesn't Work. They say that 5G is enabled by default, so i inserted my SIM card in a friend's Samsung S21 and... all was ok.
After some research I realized that they had sold her the Chinese version that supports only few 5G bands (not the italian of course) flashed with the EU ROM.
Now the question is: it's possible to unlock missing 5G frequencies?
I tried to modify carrier policy.xml, but with no results.
Pls, help me.
No you can't, hardware (I mean including non-flashable memory) is completely different.

Technically it's the same hardware, but the bands are baked into the baseband firmware and not user modifiable. Messing with carrier_policy isn't gonna change that. Unfortunately OP is SOL, hopefully it's still a good 4G device for you. Here is from mt-tech (author of the qtsp article)
This instruction only allow enable/disable 4G Carrier Aggregation & 5G EN_DC combinations and band support if hardware support it. If hardware doesn’t support, you can’t enable/disable band. Example OnePlus 8 (China) 5G doesn’t work in USA even it support n41 (T-Mobile/Sprint) band because it doesn’t support 4G anchor band used in USA.

We see this all the time, where Chinese OP devices are sold by 3rd parties cheaper but does not support everything and then people complain.
And it's possible to flash a different baseband?

The "baseband" you flash (non-hlos / modem.img) should be treated more like a driver for the hardware you are running. Technically it's more complicated than that since it handles the low level modem stuff prior to Android. There is no (known?) way to modify the actual firmware by the end user.
Oh... I remember that on the old S3 it could be done. If the hardware is the same we could try.
But it pains me to think that we have been scammed, that my wife threw a month's salary away and that I find myself with a neutered device.
Sorry to hear that, hopefully it's within the seller's return period. It's usually a caveat emptor kinda thing, the listing will usually tell you exactly which base model it is and the bands listed. If the seller misrepresented the device as a LE2123, then you can probably dispute it. Otherwise, most sellers offer a return period with a restocking fee.
AFAIK, the older device's modem img is actually the entire baseband and not non-hlos, so it can drive the entire modem.
First of all thanks for understanding.
So, do you know where to find the img and how to flash?
In the meantime, I try to contact the seller: luckily I haven't removed the protective plastics.
The Global ROM (AA) has the global non-HLOS, EU (BA) has theirs, etc. You can extract them from the OOS full update images, but like I've said, it's not gonna make a difference.
Hum... I will try.
Do you know if there is a standard procedure to do this?

Question Volte on Oneplus 9 Pro. Is it a carrier thing?

Hello,
I am having troubles activating Volte on my OnePlus 9 Pro.
After a chit chat with OnePlus support, they told me that my country carrier needs to support the Volte option for Oneplus.
Apparently they say my carrier doesnt have Oneplus in their list of smartphones that support Volte.
I managed to find a list of smartphones that my carrier has for Volte and it was only made of Samsung and Iphone.
Is this true? Am I incapable of running Volte because my carrier doesnt have OnePlus phones in ther list? OnePlus isnt popular at all in my country.
So, if this true, means even if i force turn on Volte on OP 9 Pro, i still wont get it to work?

OnePlus is also not on the list of supported devices for my carrier but I still managed to make it work on my 9 Pro following the guide previously mentioned.
Give it a try and you might be surprised of the output.

did your IMS appear as not registered first? Were you using LE2120? because they also said it can also be differences in frequencies for the countries.
LE2120 and IMS was "not registered".
After forcing the display of VoLTE/VoWifi toggles and changing the configuration in PDC to "Volte PTCRB", it started to work on my phone (logo in the status bar and "HD" indicated in call history)
My carrier is Viettel and I live in Vietnam.

I'm with T-Mobile and I have the OnePlus 9 Pro from the OnePlus store it's not T-Mobile specific I went with T-Mobile because they're 5G is better and AT&T didn't get voice over LTE at all. I went on a prepaid plan because there's no taxes involved my wife and I both have unlimited everything with 5G and I think we pay 80 bucks a month. I downloaded the version one OnePlus log kit switched on volte and vo Wi-Fi did the reboot and you can see from the screenshots when I don't have LTE vo Wi-Fi kicks in and when I don't have the other v o l t e is always active and they both work all my calls are in high definition. The carrier did nothing for me it was that simple I'm not rooted and I'm on the stock software... It's great because even if I have a dead zone I can make phone calls and send and receive texts over Wi-Fi no problem it might be worth looking into going to T-Mobile just for that feature especially when it's prepaid plan and you don't have to pay all those taxes! Good luck I'm so glad I got this phone I had just bought the OnePlus 80 and the charging port was getting bad on it so I went all in and got the nine Pro!
It works you need to turn it on in the settings so that you see the icon but to be sure just make s phone call if it changes to H+ or 3G then you don't have VoLTE

VoLTE and WoWIFI works natively on T-Mobile with the US model, T-Mobile model or from Oneplus themselves, so those extra steps were completely unnecessary . It's 100% carrier dependent, you just happened to be on a carrier that supports it.

So i guess, even if i do all that with PDC, i will still not be able to access VOLTE right? Because my carrier only supports samsung and iphone for now...
Assuming PDC is your carrier? Then correct. If they only whitelist Samsung and iPhones for VoLTE, then that's what you need to use.

PDC is a program that allows you to force activate volte on your phone. but thank you. i kinda got an idea now.
Same here (in Ukraine) guys. Oneplus 9 Pro doesn't support VoLTE, though previous older phones did!
Can changing of Profile in PDC affect VoLTE? Or only carriers can affect this? How do they Whitelist our model?
PDC not work on Android 12 ?

Question No UK 5G or Rather The Lack Of Indication?

Out and about today and never saw 5G indicated once on my 6 Pro (BT Mobile) the speed tests i did seemed to indicate i was actualy using 5G but the indicator never flickered off 4G. Dunno whether it is a bug with the phone, the SIM card or the network.
Anyone else in the UK seeing a similar thing?
It possibly is quite temperamental....
I'm on EE UK and had 5G when first using the phone in my bedroom. Then, perhaps only coincidentally, when my O2 number was transferred over, I was only getting 4G from then. Was only getting 4G too outside and then randomly 5G, even though I live in a good area.
I wasn't receiving a verification text from the Voi Scooter app, so tried putting my EE sim back in my old phone, which didn't help the text, but was getting strong 5G on the old phone in my room...! I reset network settings on my Pixel and then now I'm getting 5G again,, but I'm unsure if anything I'm doing is actually helping or that just perhaps signal is a little weird?!
Ive not even seen the 5G indicator at all, earlier i did a speed test on a Pixel 6 showing 5G and and a speed test on my 6 Pro showing 4G and they both got the same result.
I tried resetting the Network Settings and it did bugger all for me sadly.
I've not had 5G appear on mine and I was in City Centre before (Manchester) where its all over
there is no 5g indicator nor is there a VOLTE indicator

I definitely see it indicated when I'm out of the house. Not sure why you're not seeing it.
Apparently, according to ads, I'm using UK's fastest 5G network in 3 mobile, but it probably is also the smallest because I went to central London today and was checking the phone every 2 minutes, never shown 5G in a status bar.
On the other hand I can confirm, that at least in 3 mobile I can make my phone use either 3, 4 or 5 G (I think someone mentioned that it wasn't possible in EE.
I'm with 3 in the UK and my P6P regularly shows 5g obviously when in a 5g area.

Same, I see the 5g regularly when I am around my area. Look at my speedtest results they say LTE but i know I have seen 5G regularly.
After a few calls to BT yesterday and being told not us Guv honest 5G started to be indicated, odd that.
Something strange appears to be going on with EE. My 1p mobile SIM showed 5G originally, but now I get DCNR restricted = True so it will not work.

I don't think EE give 5G with pay-as-you go SIMS, so that might be all by design.

EE don't, but 1pmobile, running on EE do support it.
This is the same SIM in my Mi11Ultra:

Another UK user, not got the Pixel yet. Even though you aren't getting 5g indicator are you actually getting the speeds?
