Hi Mike,
Can you please check why the option "Add device to inventory" is not enabled for the GT Master Edition?

Hello and thanks for the heads-up. It might take up to a week for this option to be available after the device forum was created because enabling of this option isn't done by @MikeChannon himself.

I think there is enough threads now to separate

Not quite sure I understand. Are you wanting threads for the Realme GT separated from the Realme GT ME threads?
In other words a new fprum for the Realme GT?
Just at a quick look, the vast majority of threads here seem to be for the ME version.
Mike

No bro

Agh.. I understand. Well that system of having sub-forums was what we used to have when we used our old vBulletin forum software.
It was very heavy on our servers have 5 or 6 forums for every device and the whole site got veeeery slow.
So now we use tags within a single device forum.
You might think it is not as good because all the different Tags like "Development" and "Questions" etc are all jumbled together BUT
if you got to the Tags (Quick Filters) at the top, you can get it to show just "Development" threads or just "Questions" etc. So it behaves just as if they were in separate forums:

Yes, that's correct. In the end though you get used to the new tagging system and it's much less stressful on our servers.

Welcome to xda-developers.com
This site is about certain PDA-phones, made by a firm called HTC in Taiwan. Their makers named them 'Wallaby', 'Himalaya', 'Blue Angel', 'Wizard' and 'TyTN', but almost nobody knows them by those names. The mobile provider O2 sells them under the brand-name 'XDA', and that's what we had in our hands first. They're also known as Qtek, MDA, SX-56, Hermes and many, many other names.
Since we develop software for it, we need information, and nobody seemed eager or ready to give us what we needed. So we 'reverse-engineered' the devices, found a lot of information, and shared it with the world. But as our site grew we realised that lots of ordinary users were also suffering from a lack of support. They started using the xda-developers forum to communicate and before long the forum was as much a user forum as it was a developer forum.
We hope that you will enjoy this site and find it as useful as we do. We encourage you to donate or otherwise support this site. Of course absolutely all proceeds from donations will benefit this community.

i have notning against omnia and such but according to forum rules and statute those are off topics like car engines or nuclear fusion or whatever
and what are you complaining anyway you have big omnia thread in off topics and that's ok...BECAUSE IT IS IN OFF-TOPIC
that's the point go there and talk about asus, samsung ,nokia...don't spam the general thread
oh by the way...this is NOT a win moblie place

So many devices....

Hey all. Ever notice all these different devices we have here at xda. It's kinda hard to navigate sometimes when I'm looking for devices. Just a thought, maybe we should get them organized by manufacturer or something. It'd make browsing around the forums much easier and reduce a lot of cluster on the forums.
What do you think?
On my Inspire 4G
I think that's a great idea
Try using the search box in the top right corner, saves you all the time in the world.....
Hope that helps..........
Try using "compact view" on the homepage to sort them better
I think it would be better organized if it was more like AndroidForums.com
nice idea...
I agree with the compact view but it still leaves a lot of clutter among the list of devices. Now if it were sorted by the manufacturer it would make the initial forum page much smaller, maybe even only 10-15 sections. Or even for a little reorganization put the devices by the same maker all together instead of a mixed list. Cause the newest devices are at The bottom but are all still mixed among makers. It'd also make new members easier to navigate the forums when looking for their device.

Not sure I understand you. From what I can see on the site, I can search a device by OS or Manufacturer. I have a yellow Drop down menu in the top right side of the site that splits everything by brand or OS.
Rageing you're saying the exact idea I was saying. Just how its sorted by os or mfg but if it was setup like that by default it makes a great first impression for new users and for fast easy searching among the forums
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Categorising them by Manufacturer would make a lot of sense.
This would also help distinguish general forums from the device specific ones.

I am not very active on this site mainly because my old phone was never given a forum here(Moto Backflip) but wanted to comment anyways because I hope to be more active now that I have a D2G. Anyways in regards to this issue at hand, I am sorry to say but really? I dont mean to sound like a smart.. but you really expect people to read that? Much less for new members to find it..
I think maybe what people mean when they say sorting things by device is like this:
Motorola: Category
-Flipout(forum)
--General(sub-forum)
--Accessories(sub-forum)
--Development(sub-forum)
-Droid 2
--General(sub-forum)
--Accessories(sub-forum)
--Development(sub-forum)
Then if you set the sub-forums not to set on the forum index, this shortens the forum index substantially making it much quicker and easier to find your device. Like I said I am just assuming on that, so if I am wrong, this would be my suggestion on the matter.

How so? If I go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/index.php and then scroll down, I will find HTC devices in-between samsung and motarola ones, etc... that is not what I call 'sectioned by manufacturer'
I am a new user, but this is not so confusing for me.

Click "COMPACT VIEW" your wish is granted. ...errr was granted.... long ago...
or you can use the Quick forum jump... also shown below. try it sometime. its the big yellow button that says "Devices by OS
or Manufacutrer" pretty much the exact words you used!. Actually it is VVVV THERE. see it? the "V" arrows point to it!

Htc clocks running 10 min fast?

Anyone having time issues with there devices? Today found that my phone was 10 min fast, had to revert in settings on date and time, I have gingersense B3 2.3.3.
I read some where that this is going on over the pond also, whats your thoughts??
It has nothing to do with gingersense it happened to my wife's non rooted stock incredible.
yeah the other day mine was running 7 minutes too fast. A reset will fix it but it was odd I am running the leaked gingerbread
Its actually a world-wide issue. From the US to the UK.
I just turned off my automatic clock sync and switched to manual until we figure out whats happening.
I just went to settings (clock) and switched to manual then back to automatic and it fixed itself.

First thought is that the ten post threshold may be too low because someone posted something so utterly off topic in the dev forum.
The reason why people post questions in the DEV section is because if the question is relevant to developing ie HOW TO DO THIS.. OR THAT OR WHAT KERNEL RUNS BEST.. etc who better to ask than the developers. Why would someone go post a technical question about something in a generic question and answer section when no one with any knowledge will answer the question. Basically you people who have nothing better to do than NAZI a forum need to go put a D*&K in your mouth. Next time my car breaks down Ill go take it my drycleaners!

The clown who posted the picture proves my point. Sure devs can read the q @ a - How many really do - My drycleaner can also look at my car and try to fix it - Doesnt mean he is the person I want working on my car. Point being either answer the question with an inteligent answer or dont bother what is the point of being a forum nazi.

We are blessed to have this place to learn about our devices and have access to the work of all of the great developers. The least we can do is fallow the rules and respect the developers. Maybe some of us haven't read the rules, here's a good post from the last moderator of our forum on why we keep questions out of the development section and here's the general forum rules which plainly states that we should watch our language and respect other members. Mark,
THANK YOU !!
At the urging of my Grand Children I recently retired my Nokia 6310i and acquired a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I had to use my computer to reply to their text messages since I wasn't "nimble" enough to text with the Nokia, although it did what I needed it to do quite well, and, as may be imagined, I caught a lot of flack for my 'backward' styles.
Overwhelmed might be an understatement at my first exposure to the Nexus, and since it was a 4.0.1 version running on Fido, it appeared to me that it was likely wise to update it to ICS 4.1.1 before I started to put too much info into and onto it.
I donated to and downloaded your Galaxy Nexus Toolkit, read as much as I could, reread it and watched the video a couple of times before I worked up enough nerve to try it.
My Nexus now has ICS 4.1.1 :victory:
I thak you for all that you've done here.

I wish people would read the first post of threads before posting..
It clearly states in the first post of the thread why you may get a virus warning (because the exe file is not digitally signed with a microsoft certificate) and either way this thread is not the right place to post this kind of message. If you don't have enough posts to post in the development thread then Q&A is your best friend.

Restructuring XDA forums

There are a few issues I see with XDA that need quick attention:
1. Posting a new threadIdeally, the 'Post Thread' button should be available universally, and user must choose the appropriate forum (and sub-forum) before the button gets activated for posting.
Currently, one has to 'search' to find forums and sub-forums, which itself isn't intuitive. This is more like Apple's way of implementing some of their things. This being the world of Android, we should stick with the simpler and intuitive approach.
Alternatively, there should be easy and quick access to the following two pages:
General Discussion
forum.xda-developers.com
Android Development and Hacking
forum.xda-developers.com
2. Sub-Forums by Android version and brandThere is a sub-forum for each device model. I guess this is done so users can find the right files to flash (this being the XDA) for their device. I'm not sure what % of posts on XDA are about flashing stuff.
I would like to think that the number of posts about general topics concerning Android would be far higher than those specific to flashing and modding.
In this regard, it would be nice to have a forum for each version of Android, and then a sub-forum per brand. An issue with a particular version of Android will affect all devices, especially those that are from the same brand. This will make it easy for users to find posts per Android versions and learn about problems that may not have been discussed in the device specific sub-forum.
An example:
When Samsung releases OneUI 6 based on Android 14 later this year, any issues with it would be seen on S23 Ultra, S23 Plus, S23, S22 Ultra, S22 Plus, S22, S21 FE, and a whole lot of devices that get OneUI 6. Same logic applies to all the smartphone brands.
It is far easier to discuss issues related to the OS version in one sub-forum than spread it out over multiple sub-forums, which will also result in many duplicate posts for the same issue. Plus, users watching device specific sub-forums may not be aware of issues on their device if they haven't been discussed in those sub-forums.
3. Filters in Watched section
Just as we have filters in New Posts section, it would be nice to have one in Watched section too.
