General 62.0.A.3.163 available - Sony Xperia 10 III

Today the update appeared on my X10 (GLOBALEEA-A2).
Anyone tried it yet?

I installed it a few hours ago, includes the december patch.
No noticeable changes or errors so far. Installation took about 20 minutes.

So I also installed it - everything looks fine.
Still no NFC icon in the top bar

Installed but haven't really noticed any difference so far.

Got it the day it showed up on xpericheck, cannot see any difference either.

Hi,
Would you please check if your phone says when checking the customization?
Open the dialer
Enter *#*#7378423#*#* and press dial
Tap on Service info
Tap on Software info
Look for Customization Version
Mine says:
Phone software revision:
62.0.A.3.28
GLOBALEEA-A2 - user
Do you also have the "- user" ?
I am asking because I do not get the software upgrade (checked on phone manually and in Xperia companion as well).
Thank you in advance.

Hi mate,
There you go.
Merry Xmas

Thank you,
Weird. I don't get it why mine doesn't find any update. I use it with 2 sims both on Vodafone network ( I don't know if it matters).

I did the update manually tho, since I got my bootloader unlocked and then locked back again I wasn't sure wether I'd even get the OTA update.

Orange Network locked unlock sim after OTA update

Hello,
Need some help.
Unbranded my desire today which went well. It asked me if I wanted to update the software OTA which I clicked yes to. This is where it all went wrong, phone now comes up with Network locked unlock sim.
Can anyone help me get round this, I read a thread a couple of days ago where someone had the same problem but I can't for the life of me find it. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there mate. I dont know the answer to your problem but can say that no one else has ever posted that exact error. Can you confirm the EXACT wording of the error and and numbers it may throw. If its already correct (including any punctuation) it seems you have a very unique problem.

It may not have been here but I think it was.
Basically it was a branded Orange Desire.
After much reading I decided that I wanted to get of all the Orange stuff that comes bundled and cannot be removed.
I followed a guide to de-brand the phone which worked perfectly. When I first turned the phone on and checked the software update it said 1 update was available, I chose to download and install the update. When I checked the phone version it was 2.1update 1 (I think).
Turned the phone off and on again and went back into the software update and was offered another update which I assumed was Froyo, chose to download and install that via wifi. Everything seemed to work but when the phone rebooted it came up with the following message "SIM network unlock PIN" there is no other error code and it wants an 8 digit code.
Called Orange and played dumb and they said that they would send me a new phone but I've told them to hold off for now.
Thank in advance.
Hmmm looks like you may have flashed a Branded ROM for another provider which I didn't thik had any effect on provider locks. But in the lack of help from anywhere else you could always try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748105 which is what I did on my Virgin Mobile UK Branded and locked phone. SOrry I cant help further
You could buy an unlock code online..That should sort it.
It looks like your using an incompatible radio. Which version are you using? To find out go to settings - about phone then it should be baseband version?

Wanted to post back, thanks for the great advice. Hope this thread cones in useful for someone else.
Got a fully up to date Droid, didn't have to pay Orange for the Network unlock code either lol
really pleased mate well done! Its scary **** when you may have to pay out for the bugger lol
good advice in this thread
Got it up and running yet?
If not, take the SIM out and find the software version in settings. If it's something like:
x.xx.405.x
then you have an unbranded ROM which most people have had issues with with Orange phones. You could try updating to Froyo if the OTA update is still available as that should flash a working radio or just buy an unlock code for about a tenner that would be best in the long run.
Just to let you know that the latest radio is compatible with orange (I have it) its 5.09.00.20. Shouldn't sim lock your phone. Good luck. Hope you get it sorted.

This post says that he sorted it.
i am sure its an incorrect radio take your sim out and you should have access , i ended up rooting the device using revoke one click method very easy just follow carfully then i installed a custom rom and a new radio
this is the orange one for bootloader 0.75 "update-bravo-radio-32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11-signed" all working great the rom i used was "Official_FroYo_Market_fixed"
hope this helps actually just upgraded radio to 5.09 with no problem
Yeah got this sorted peeps.
Didn't mess around looking up radio's or anything like that.
This is what happened to me.
1. Debranded Orange Desire from 2.1update1 to Generic 2.1
2. Upgraded OTA from Generic 2.1 to 2.1update1
3. Was offered and accepted update to Froyo
4. Got error saying SIM locked unlock sim
5. Put Froyo ROM onto SD card and loaded it via recovery
6. Enjoyed having the last laugh over Orange technical support
Thank you to jamesmcuk who's post (I think it was 4 or 5) resolved my problem, would suggest the same process to anyone else who had the same problem that I had.
On another note, how do I check what radio version I have and if it's upto date?

[Q] Help No service problems on xperia play

Hi guys,
Please help. I can not for the life of me understand why my talkmobile R800i xperia play will not work on .42 or .62. Every time I upgrade I get the yellow triangle in the top corner. When I select Talkmobile, it says registered on network but nothing happens. The triangle remains and I have not signal.
If I downgrade to an earlier version of firmware 2.3.2. It works just fine.
Pulling my hair out here. Pelase help.
Many thanks in advance

Either your APN settings are missing, or the newer baseband version doesn't like your carrier.
Try flashing the newer firmware in flashtool and selecting the option to exclude baseband.
Afraid I think my phone has had it.
even on old f/w it does not work. although it looks like it has signalk it does not.
Have tried different sims, so it is not just talkmobile.
There is a hidden menu if I remember. something like *#*#06#*#* . Does anyone know it? searching for it removes the # signs sorry. so cant find it.
also this may be important. It say when I disable radio, and bring it back on. MM #6 is not allowed. Is this something to do with IEMI number?
t
thanks
OK, this is defo MM #6 error. I have contacted my carrier and they have said that the phone is not blocked.
So it appears that the upgarde to ICS has screwed my phone. Any really clever people out there that can help me?
thanks
Neil
I belive the code you are thinking of is *#*#4636#*#*. this will get you to the hidden menu where you can change the radio type and turn on and off the radio etc...

Your IP addrss is not allowed to update/repair brown phone

Hi,
I did a lot of searching on google and on xda and I just can't figure this out for my life. I have already posted this phone for sale but I have never had this much issue with any other phone.
I've had every phone on AT&T and I've tried from CM7 to CM10, from Atrix to GNote. I am not sure why this Sony Xperia Ion won't update. Anyone have any idea why this phone won't update to ICS?
I picked it up from a guy on CL and not being able to update is killing me.
Model number: LT28at
Android version: 2.3.7
Baseband version: 9x00B-SCAQCSZQ-34702060-01
Kernerl version: [email protected] # 1
Build number: 6.0.C.1.202
TL;DR: Phone won't update, screenshot attached.
Edit: I tried flashtool last night. I can't install generic firmware, AT&T GB or ICS.
It goes all the way to writing data and then stays at 0% forever for 64bit version and 32bit version says can't flash.
Never saw the 202 Fw. maybe you have a test model? You could try flashing one of the experimental build fws. I believe there is one in the fw sticky. aa

Thanks for the reply dude.
I downloaded LT28i - ICS 6.1.E.2.29 from Firmware list and that's the first one this phone was able to flash so far.
Even the LT28h won't work on this.
Phone just booted up fine and I just noticed that it's not AT&T phone.
Top of the screen says Sony Ericsson and bottom says Xperia in caps.
Is there a way to check what model this phone actually is?

Two things I would check:
1. See if LTE works. If it does then you know it's not the LT28h
2. Check to see if your bootloader is unlockable. Not that it's unlocked but if it's unlockable. If it says yes you know it's not an LT28at and you likely have the LT28i.

I checked the LTE and it does indeed work.
on LT28i fw, it gives you option to pick LTE and once I go in settings to check, it says LTE:14 under Mobile network type.
I was hoping there was an easier way to tell by maybe taking backing plate off or something. I guess I need to dig into bootloader unlock stuff and see if it works.
Thank you.
You were right, it says I can unlock bootloader.
I guess now I just have to wait till CM9 is stable enough to give it a try
Thank you so much for all your help...at least now I know it's LT28i.
Edit:
For anyone who is as noob as me with Sony phones and having any issues like this, you can check to see if it's possible to unlock your bootloader:
*Taken from Sony site*
Open phone app and enter: *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In that menu, tap Service info > Configuration > Look at Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can unlock your bootloader.
Right on! Congrats too on being able to bl unlock your LT28, hope I'll be able to at some point.
Now that you're on 29, you can give MIUI a try if you want. I've been using it a couple days and it's growing on me.
Haha..thanks man. I was not expecting to score a better phone for a lower price. I thought I got ripped by that guy and I will never see ICS or my money again. Sometimes it works out for the best..lol
Are you using stock camera app in MIUI? I have never used MIUI for some reason. Screenshots make it look too much like iOS or maybe it's me lol

Phone locked after flashing Stock Sprint G920PVPU3BOL1 (Android 5.1.1)

Hello dear all,
I bought a few days ago a Samsung Galaxy s6 phone in my country. As I am a bit curious, I noticed later on that the phone have been unlocked before I purchased it with the local seller, as it worked fined with my local SIM Card operator.
I also noted the phone was CDMA, as there was not anywhere I could setup an APN. I used a third party all, APN Configurator (downloaded from the Play Store) to define a custom APN and then I could go the the internet using mobile data. I used the phone for two days without any noticeable issue. Then, one night, I rebooted the phone and it got stuck into a bootloop, with a message displayed in red in the upper left corner of the screen : "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock".
I made some research and I understood FRP lock was a sort of protection related to OEM (which could be deactivated in Developer Options). I did not knew anythting about that. Anyway, as it was useless to me at this point since I could not even start the phone.
However, Download mode and Stock recovery were still available. I downloaded and flashed a stock rom for Sprint (G920PVPU3BOL1) and I flashed it via Odin. It went fine. Now when I boot the phone, It gives me the following message :
"Attention - Power off your device, insert the service provider UICC that came with the device, then power on the device."
I get get past this screen. I only have Wifi-available, but still, I can't go anywhere with that.
I am loocking for a proper way/tutorial to bypass this screen and then unlock the phone from here.
Much thanks in advance.

Follow this guide it will help you unlock on ur carrier...some users have also reported that it also works well in marshmallow...so u can try goodluck

Thanks @jinderation. I already came accross that tutorial. Unfortunately I can't apply it since it requires to install some APKs. I cannot even do that since I am stucked at the activation screen and I can't get past the message I mentionned before:
"Attention - Power off your device, insert the service provider UICC that came with the device, then power on the device."
So, no way to access to the menu, where I can connect the device to a PC and then send an APK and then install it from the device.
So I am looking for a proper way to bypass the activation screen first. Then I can proceed with the tutorial you mentionned.
Take it to sprint.. Have u checked for its imei no. Whether its blacklisted or not...the seller whom u bought from did he make his payments to sprint cuz if he didnt then you are screwed..share the imei number here so i can check
U can also try flashing this firmware its 5.11 BOL1 as well i dont know where u had downloaded the firmware from mine is also unlocked but doesnt show the type of screen that you are mentioning

A massive thanks to you! I actually downloaded an unlocked version of 5.1.1 BOL1 updated from somewhere else, not yours, I flashed it via Odin, and it workied fine. I even rooted it by flashing UniKernel for Sm-920P and its all perfect now.
Except that the Sprint logo shown at startup is a bit annoying, and also the battery life which is quite short....

My phone is unlocked and works fine on 5.1.1 but when i upgrade to 6.0.1 it becomes locked.
It will be stuck on 5.1.1 forever or is there a solution to keep it unlocked and upgrade safely?
Thanks

Well I am not that knowledgeable on the matter.... But I do not know of any way of doing that. Maybe you could try looking for a Marshmallow stock Rom already unlocked ?
no unlocked rom exists for g920p i believe

Bought an S6 recently and it was on 5.1.1. It was already rooted and not showing firmware update option. So we thought we will flash the stock ROM and flashed the SM-G920P 6.0.1 ROM. After this, the phone displays the following message and SIM card is not showing any signal "Power off your device and insert the service provider UICC that came with the device, then power on the device". Any suggestions to fix this issue?

Confusion on Regions..

Hi guys, im alil confused on how to update the phone correctly. So i thought i had an Indian S9, how exactly would i confirm that? Is it a good idea to check my IMEI from those IMEI check sites - they seem kinda dodgy.
Main reason being i read that if i dont install the correct A10 package for my phone - i wont receive updates and i'd like that to be automatic. ATM i think i have the Netherlands version running on my S9
Thanks

post your entire IMEI up in your next reply. Kidding, never do that. The IMEI checking sites are actually pretty accurate, but if youre unsure, almost all the major players will offer the same service on their sites too, they just call it something else. You can also go into the about phone section and irrespective of whats currently installed, itll tell you how it left the factory

Where exactly is this? - as far as I can tell, everything under 'software information' is relates to the current version of Android 10 i flashed.
