Where is it reporting as SD1A.210817.015.A4? In Settings/About? Any other details such as what country you're in and what carrier you're using? Anything else you can tell us - are you rooted or applied OTA or factory image manually?

Are you using a custom kernel?
Can you check the hash of the full .017 firmware zip you downloaded and compare it to the hash shown on the website? (I check it after every time I download a full image zip, or an OTA zip)

minus case insens they match
BF3DA4B26554D84F99EAAD9837330C7D757F7D31442397EF89A98307D169D96A

no custom kernel

It was always my impression to use the one that makes sense for the region and carrier you use, i.e. US Carrier, but at least one knowledgeable person in the P6P section said the A1 is the correct one. I haven't had problems with the US Carrier one on AT&T (.017). My wife's phone isn't rooted and she hasn't gotten the December OTA. I mainly leave well enough alone on her phones since some things I've done on all her old phones (which is always the same phone as what I have, to make it easier for me to give her tech support) have given her unwanted surprises.

Oh yeah - you could always try the Official Google Android Flash Tool and see if you get any different results.

so is the 16.a1 correct or 17 for us carriers?

I don't have any better answer than my reply #12. Since the .017 says "US Carriers" on the page with the list of firmware, that's the one I use.

Do I have a bad radio?

Hi everyone, I've the M8 International, but I'm having some issues with signal, and I can't get 4G working on it in fact 3G would barely work.
Could it be that I've an old radio?
I'm in Argentina, Buenos Aires. 4G is working just fine in others phones. (Also, while I was on Canada I had the same issue)
I don't know if this will be of any help to you guys, but this is my baseband.

Thank you!
Are you S-OFF?
If your carrier has their own version of the M8 you can try flashing a firmware.zip that has the radio that was released with their lollipop update. That might improve your situation.
If you're running on the pure international firmware, that's just an overall generic radio update. Carrier updates have their own tweaked radio that they test and adjust for best network performance (in a perfect world).

Thank you for your answer, yeah I'm S-OFF. Also, there wasn't any official release from my carrier for the HTC, they don't even sell it. But others phones like the Moto X, or the Xperia Z1 works just fine, getting over 20mb of download, while I can't even make 1mb.
Is there anything else I can do? A place where I can download the latest radios?
There is a thread with Radio updates, but the original 1st post hasn't been updated in a year, but users have posted links to other radio version...
Unfortunately it's not in one convenient list, you'll have to search through it.
Flashing radios has the risk of a brick, so be careful and make sure you are 100% sure that its compatible with your GSM phone and you are well aware of the steps and risk.

Help with G920P in Australia

Hi Guys
I bought the galaxy s6 G920P used from eBay and have ran into troubles after rooting it.
See my other thread which i accidentally posted in General Q&A, May be i can get some better answers here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/help-samsung-g920p-root-t3289569
So basically now I have a device thats running stock rooted ROM, but I Cant get 4g to work. I have made sure the APN settings are correct from my provider. Also after a restart, the device takes about 2-3 minutes to pick up any cell signal.
My main question is that when I got my device it was not rooted, and everything was working fine ( I did not have to manually enter my career's APN settings and I had 4g data). Also there was no traces about the "sprint" on my device, no splash screen or anything.
Anyone has any idea which ROM the device could originally be on? Is there any stock non-sprint version of android 5.1.1 for G920P?
Thanks in advance and sorry about the noob questions ( Biggest mistake is I should have made a backup of original ROM)

How did you root it? Also, you may need to unlock it.
Make sure to check your carriers bands with the ones the phone supports:

}
You should beable to find the support bands on your carriers website, you may also be able to call a store.
I have this phone from Sprint and of course there is always the splash screen and the annoying sprint apps. If this screen wasn't there if may have been a custom ROM although you would have seen the red text about the system when booting. Although it wasn't really possible in the past (due to CDMA and carrier locks), it is possible with the s6 to bring this device from other US carriers to sprint (http://www.sprint.com/landings/bring-your-own-phone/). I am not sure if you are basing the model based on the fact that it said Sprint or if you are certain that was the actual model (I believe the model number is also sometimes changes by some ROMs).
From my understanding you now have the stock sprint ROM with the sprint screen and annoying apps? I don't believe there is a "Stock" version for this model. U.S. carriers love to put their annoying junk on phones and generally have plans to lease or pay extra per month to subsidize the cost of the phone.
You could check this thread out and maybe it would help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...de-success-sim-unlock-sprint-samsung-t3130294
If not maybe trying another ROM would be a good option especially since you are outside of the U.S. You may even be able to use this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423 since you don't need sprint radio support (this is a risk since the model is not officially supported, but may be worthwhile).

Build NDE63N questions

So, yeah, this is one of those "tester" phones that I recieved to do a review about, and there are a few things I am not clear about now that the Pixel XL has been out for awhile..
- I haven't gotten any OTA updates at all, and still on October security files; am I missing anything?
-not sure which "factory" version I should use as a fall back in case of a disaster
-not sure if I have to "upgrade" to a different build before I root and flash TWRP
Its actually kind of nice just keeping the phone pure stock so far, but I know its only a matter of time before the custom roms and tweaks start to show up, and, we all know how important it is to have a "fall back" plan, in case of a disaster..
Thanks to anyone who has the same situation, and has figured out how to move forward.. :good::good:
Still using my Shamu as my DD, but would like to get the Pixel XL to that point too!

Edit: just unlock bootloader and then flash full factory image using adb and fastboot tools..
i've unlocked the bootloader, but not rooted or twrped yet, since there is really nothing to flash yet..
which image did you flash?

What do the build numbers mean?

What do the build numbers mean?
I want to flash stock rom and OTAs but I'm unsure what these mean exactly and cannot find through many searches where to find the answer.
For example on this page I can download otas for
NDE63H , NDE63L, NDE63P etc.
Are these specific device models for different countries that will break my phone if I install the wrong one. Or are they new releases in order of the letter in the build number? Im Guessing the latter? Sorry if noob

Note10+ 975U1 Android 11 One UI 3 Beta available. With tether fix

I looked for another thread and couldn't find one, if there is one for the 975U1 this one can be closed. As the title says the beta is available. I installed it yesterday and rolled back today because I was no longer able to use my phone as a Hotspot. Technically I could use the Hotspot feature it just didn't work because it wouldn't pass any data through to anything I had tethered to my Note10+ 975U1.
I should mention I have the non 5G variant.
I was able to get cellular data going again through tethering by adding a new APN with everything the same and adding default, dun, mms, supl, hipri to the "APN type" field.

I suspect that I'll have to flash the u1 files again so that I can try the beta myself on my u. I wish Verizon would let us play in the beta games.

I hear you. I like having the unlocked variant most of the time until I want to use a function that AT&T will not allow me to use because I don't have an AT&T branded phone.
It's not actually available afaik. I got the same thing in Samsung Members on my T-Mobile variant (SM-975U) and it was simply an announcement of their planned update schedule.

See the screenshot I attached.
If you flash the 975U1 firmware and Samsung is still taking beta testers you should be able to get it. You may lose some functions of your carrier. If you are using a carrier branded phone it looks like Android 11 will be available in February. I am not sure if that's when Samsung gives it to the carriers or when the carriers are expected to release Android 11 for your model.
