I have been a huge fan of costom roms for a long time and I was mainly a fan because of we could get stock Android on other Android phones..i had a samsung and redmi phone when I was a kid so I really loved Android Oreo and noughat and specially it's vertical rescents screen and animations and all.....but I didn't have a pc back then.....now I do and so when I bought my new poco , immediately unlocked bootloader and added costom rom and evrything ..android 10 is the lowest android version for my device and..the inner child in me just really want to use Android Oreo or nought..or just the vertical rescents.....soo is there an android Oreo ported rom or some thing or even pie, because with quickswitch we can bring back vertical rescents soo is theres an android pie costom rom for poco M2 pro?

I just randomly opened the en.miui.com and I saw that our Armani is also eligible for the MIUI 9 update. Guys, take a look and apply maybe?

I was so pumped when I read it. I can't believe Xiaomi will indeed update their old devices. My hopes are high for them. But I doubt it might take a long, but that's fine. ?
Do I need to be good at debugging to be able to have a sense in using beta?
Also, does that mean that the camera blobs for our device will be updated to fit Nougat? And does that mean a better camera experience on other Nougat ROMs?
OR will it be another new UI with outdated system?

I still doubt that Xiaomi will be updating the android version too. Still hoping for the best.
Good at debugging? I don't think that is compulsory but surely it'll help the developers if you are.

I just hope that the Android version would be updated too. But as far as I can see, it wouldn't be. Just like the release of MIUI 8. It was based on Marshmallow for new devices but the older ones were stuck. Nougat runs fine even though with a hiccup, but hey at least we know it's working and it's possible to have one MIUI ROM based on Nougat.

Yeah! let's hope for the best. I won't think it'd take that much time. Armani recieved MIUI8 update earlier than Redmi 2.
It'll will be on android kitkat only for redmi 1s, just updated ui and fancy stuff. So just don't hope that it'll come with MM for redmi 1s. :laugh:

Yeah. After a few days, my hype disappeared. Somewhat disappointed on what will happen. I don't care about fancy UI and colorful stuff. I want a bit of nudge on the Android version. I'll be fine if they notch it up to 5.1.1 or 6.0.1. Thanks to the devs here in XDA, I got a taste on Nougat even though the phone tries hard to catch up.
If there is no xda, our device Armani would have never get past android version 4.4. (Well most of the devices)
im sure that in miui 9 also the android version will stay at 4.4.
One year ago I have dumped my redmi 1s and shifted to RN3 ,but happy to seee miui 9 for our little Beast...

Its a wasted effort, the company has even dropped MIUI 8 support for Redmi 1S. The only version available seems to be MIUI 8.2.1.0 while a lot of devices got 8.5.xx. Redmi 1S has reached EOL.

You're right. I can't see any info about MIUI 9 update for Redmi 1S even though they promised to do so.

MiUi9 stable version is now available for China ROM and it gets regular updates
System is still KK 4.4 but the MiUi version is quite fresh and fluid

Since this isn't an IOS phone I doubt that it comes with IOS emojis. If that's what you want you probably need to add them yourself like on your Samsung phone.

We dont have a stable LOS16 pie rom, of course there are not at least sGSI ROMs for our device, and you are asking that

you right, but i was able to boot gsi just the miui gsi image, then i tried the oxygen os and android q but they bootlooped ....

Playing with GSIs is just too unstable for every device, sometimes its like treble has its own mind. I use a lot of devices, with different UIs, stock Android is unrooted boring (the painfull thruth, but so is One UI for me), MIUI is cluttered for my taste. With to much pathways you can go, it gets harder to choose

Sometimes i want go back to MIUI but it has so much bloatwares and the update system is so slow (i still think we wont get MIUI 12.5 and android 12 on the future). So my question is this: does anyone know a MIUI rom that doesnt have xiaomi's bloatwares (default apps, mi browser, mi pay, mi fit, my etc...)?

Normally Miui can't be without bloatware. But in the past I had some experience with Mi-Globe rom.
You can create a customized Miui build without some of the specific miui apps.
Choose "Show all settings" to see what you want to skip or add
But as Loopypalm said you better could try first Resurrection Remix based on Andoid 10.

after upgrading to Android 12 and literally wanting to throw away my phone after that, I decided to go back to ol' reliable custom ROMs.
Just rolling back to pre-Oppo OOS would be absolutely enough and I loved my Oneplus 8 Pro, really regret giving it away, but I want to see what's on XDA and maybe I can find something even better.
So I just wanted to hear your input on which ROM you would go for with the 9 Pro, would you roll all the way back to OOS 11 with nameless or Lineage or go for a 12 based ROM because the improvements are worth it?
What are you personally running and why?
Im on the last nameless build based on oos12, and its the best rom for me, its the most fluid, the most stable, and It does some 6 hours of screen, the only flaw is the lack of oos camera, unlike previous oneplus in custom roms
