I have LG G6 not Q7 but felt the need to comment because i am desperate with a locked bootloader soon i am replacing the dying battery (i think another 6 months it will still run finely) after three years of heavy use (i am surprised how good is it), changing the faulty fingerprint sensor, removing the broken screen protector and applying the quality spare tempered glass so our relationship will be refreshed with new life energy it would be so beautiful to flash a custom ROM as well

might need to run it on linux, windows connections arent reliable

Owner of Q7 here. I dont know if i want to try anything on it since its my only phone. It was already a painful process to downgrade from Android 9 to Android 8.1 since it was extremely laggy.

Tryna use this method to unlock my Q7, but everytime I try to run the script, python flashes open and closed. Not sure if I'm doing this right, can't seem to even get it into brom mode. any advice?

Project Treble support?

So the people on the Moto Z forum have managed to get semi-working treble support, basically it requires using a script (namely Capire Le Treble)to convert Generic System Images (GSI) to Device Specific System Images (DSSI) in order to boot those since it does not have a /vendor partition. I wonder if something similar can be achieved on our device.
Not sure, though it's likely to be possible.
CodeZero has already got the moto g5 to boot with project treble but it only boots (nothing else works)
You can ask him or check his github to see if he is still working on it
Most guys here bricked their G5s

realme 2procustom rom

Cant we just use Kingoroot or other apps to root the phone and then flash custom recovery using rashr or flashify?

Hello Mate,
You are in the opposite direction.
Kingroot and other such rooting apps only root old devices ( by old I mean devices launched literally 2-3 years back ). Technology has changed now. And also the Android Security and OS integration has changed with time.
New devices now have to have a custom recovery first and then you can root the device through that custom recovery with Magisk OR SuperSU. And to install the custom recovery, you need to unlock the bootloader.
So going step wise in ascending order it is --> Unlock Bootloader --> Install Custom Recovery --> Flash Root App ( Magisk / SuperSU ) --> Enjoy

Point # 1 : Realme phones do not have a fastboot recovery installed. So there is literally no way to unlock the bootloader without entering fastboot recovery mode ( correct me if I am wrong ).
Point # 2 : Even if there is any way to unlock the bootloader, there is no Official support from Realme for unlocking the bootloader which means you lose the warranty the moment you unlock your bootloader.
Point # 3 : Realme is currently working on their own brand new UI different than Color OS which will take at least Q3 of 2019 so don't expect any Official support.
What we can do :
ALL the Realme users should put up a request to Realme for providing Official bootloader unlocking support just like Xiaomi so that we can all enjoy some cool custom roms or maybe tweak the Color OS as we want. The more the requests the more Realme will listen to us.
A dedicated Realme Official Community Forum is going to start on October 31 where we all can put our requests for providing bootloader unlocking support as well as for changes and bug fixes in the current Color OS. I guess the request for changes in the Color OS UI will only happen in the new Realme UI as they will take suggestions from us that what we want and then apply that in the new Realme UI which they will provide later. Also we know that Realme will still be related to Oppo for at least 1-2 years more so don't expect a BIG difference like a nearly Stock Android type of Realme UI. The new Realme UI will definitely be somewhat like a copy of iOS just like the ColorOS of Oppo and Funtouch of Vivo.
( FYI : Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus are all brother companies who are under 1 single Parent company which is BBK Electronics and even if Realme has now seperated from Oppo, I assume it is still under BBK Electronics, so all these 4 smartphones companies are actually just 1 single company operating with different sub brand name.

Yes dude you are correct. I know that unlocking bootloader isnt available for realme. The give an option of OEM unlocking which is just of no use without fastboot. I just wanted to try old methods XD. Btw, if u google, a lot of other sites show how to install twrp in realme phones. I didnt try cuz m afraid i will brick my phone. Should I try?

The article says that flashing TWRP requires an unlocked bootloader and links to this article which ultimately says
This article is under development and needs an update. OPPO has high security on their smartphones & needs individual development. This is a newly launched smartphone, therefore, will take some time. I will update the article ASAP

Yes.
It is a clickbait.
Today at the end of 2018 the most popular, trusted, secure and REAL Android development forum is XDA and developers around the globe put forth their Custom ROM development only on XDA.
It is useless, also not safe to trust any private website for any kind of custom Rom. XDA is the only and ultimate place to search for and trust on any custom ROM :fingers-crossed:

Bro cudnt find this post on madhav sir's twitter page
Hi Guys,
I have an issue with my realme 2 pro (Color OS 5.2), When i make any application like Mcafee Mobile security as a device manager, it keep giving yellow floating notification for system security risk, I have tried multiple things but it doesn't go. Interestingly, i have other apps also set as DEvice manager but the notification only comes when i make McAfee Antivirus as Device manager. I heard that its a known issue with ColorOS, can anybody suggest any fix for this or facing the same issue?

[Discussion] Why no development on iqoo 3?

I know the kernel sources have not been released. And bootloader not been unlocked but still I see no developer interested in development of anything. Also no users are interested in it, why so? Will it be same story for the future?:crying:

Bro Iqoo has not reveled any kernel source & device bootloader unlock method so it's not possible to develop custom roms for Iqoo 3 and if you r using mobile devices only for development then go with brands like oneplus, Mi, Redmi, Pixel, Poco etc...

Question When TWRP for OnePlus 9 Pro?

Dear,
I need to have TWRP for rooting my OP9Pro but it is of course not available for the OP9Pro since it is brand new. Since i am experienced with flashing TWRP on OnePlus phones i already now that TWRP officialy doesn't support the latest phones of OnePlus so i know that the TWRP's used for that are from Mauronofrio and others. But does anyone know how long it would take till someone has developed a reliable version of TWRP for it and maybe also how long it would take till MSMDownloadtool become available for us?
Regards,
Kuno
It will become available when it does. No one knows when. One day you may see it. Or not. Flip a coin and good luck!
You also do not need TWRP for root.
There is already this thread asking for TWRP since the start of this sub-forum : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-come-we-dont-have-root-and-twrp-yet.4252335/
For rooting without TWRP, here is an explanation : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...gisked-boot-root.4252373/page-4#post-84747985
Unlocking the bootloader is done by rebooting in fastboot mode and fastboot oem unlock

I don't think this is applicable because the recovery is a part of the boot image and this guide is for creating a standalone recovery image I think since android O (someone can correct me if I'm wrong on which android version introduced this)

Well, this guide still covers the basics of setting up a tree and building. You'll need that regardless if your device has a recovery partition or not.

General [CLOSED] Lineage OS for Oneplus 11 in works - the beginning

So, we have a telegram group for 11 and 11R users where we can discuss and share things related to the devices. As we all know OP shifted from oxygen os to colorOS database and now it is not the vanilla experience of OOS10 we had.
So few of us got together to do something regarding this, we contacted few well known developers who can manage to get a custom rom working for our devices. At last we found Bruno Martins (Maintainer of Lineage OS for OP9Pro), he is free and willing to work on the device but for this to work needs a device to test the builds. We have setup a crowd funding page for him to get the device, if any one would like to chip in please do. As less as 5 bucks is good. Every penny counts.
For people who are wondering how it would be possible without msm tools, Realme GT neo 2 also had no msm tool or even open kernel for the it but still we got a developer via crowd funding to build for it and now we have a working custom rom for the device.
