Question Proton AOSP rom question - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Someone that's running that rom tell me if there is a built in option to hide Nav bar if using 3 button Nav bar?
Don't see it listed as a feature on website
Thank you much

I have requested the feature on Telegram and kDrag0n replied "Hiding the gesture nav bar used to be on the roadmap but I've noticed that it causes usability issues in some apps, plus the issues with gcam"

I have a question about custom (aosp) roms on Pixel 6 pro.. Can the camera still provide the same quality of photos (ai upscale) as well as the other proprietary features pixel offers on aosp?

How many proprietary features being available will depend on the developers of the specific rom. In ProtonAOSP case, if you install gapps and Google camera, there should be no difference compared to stock.

Sorry that I didn't make myself clear. As he asked about the photo quality, the statement should be "In ProtonAOSP case, if you install gapps and Google camera, there should be no difference compared to stock in terms of photo quality".

Yeah I figured some clarification might be needed since they may have assumed the proprietary part of the question was reflected in your response. Np
In a perfect world anyone loading the ROM would read all the dev details anyway.

My apologies.. So, eventually (when Google ends support) the camera quality *should* not suffer when upgraded to Android 16?

In my experience, you would be fine. Even if developers didn't have access to newer proprietary blobs the old ones work. So you might miss out new features but I don't see the quality taking a hit.

Is 5G enabled for all countries on this ROM?

Was Netflix there before? Seems to be baked in.
Wow, that's a pretty substantial update. Can bootloader be unlocked now?
Edit, just read the other thread, great news, it seems unlocking is now allowed!
Very nice, wonder when (if there is any plan) will the Nougat be?

I have no doubt we will get nougat. Keep in mind that the GS7 & 7 Edge don't have Nougat released yet. Also it seems maybe the Camera is improved abit with the update. Really a solid phone for $299, loving it.

I am very excited to hear all of these. Mine is coming tomorrow.
I've watched LeEco Le 2 can survive water test for at least a minute (maybe similar protection [IP53] that Pixel phone offers) so that will be a bonus from this awesome phone.
is x720 compatible with this update or should i wait some more?

Widgets crashing on restart
Has anyone else noticed certain widgets crashing/not starting on reboot? I've noticed two particular widgets not starting on reboot:
1) Battery Widget Pro
2) Dark Sky
Netflix WAS added. Sucks that you can't uninstall, just disable, but the bigger point is let US decide what we do and don't want, not you Leeco.

We spend a lot of time testing each feature we add.
Yes true we cannot see everything.

2.) You tell us.

Digging the ROM. Only 2 issues I've found. Low headphone audio (seems to happen with anything that touches CyanogenMod) and no audio in browser (chrome, chrome beta, Firefox, flash fox, dolphin) or on some apps (pocket mortys).
Just chiming in... happy so far. Very snappy rom and battery seems good. Haven't tried my headphones.
Many thanks
So, I love this rom. By far my favorite I have put on my m9, and up there on my list of top roms I've ever used. So far has been flawless, snappy and showing great battery life. However, I have been having camera issues. The first week, the camera would have issues opening from time to time, but would eventually kick in within a minute or so. A few days ago the camera gave out altogether. I was using the camera app that came with it, and I figured whatever, it's probably just a glitch. So I downloaded open camera. Same issue. Also the same with Google camera, and with the camera inside the Walmart app. They all just say "serious camera issue" and the screen stays black. I was wondering if I did something wrong or if there were any suggestions. I'll work on getting a log up, I just have been very limited on free time to sit down and mess with it.

What's next:
AOSP Pure ROM, which will focus on battery autonomy. (powersaver)
I still do not know if it will be based on Nougat 7.1.2 or Oreo 8.0.0, I'm doing some testing before saying.
Working?SOON
Not Working?SOON
I'm reserving the thread right now to hear suggestions for adding ROM in relation to the others available for the device. Such as some standard apps, which ones would prefer, some specific settings, etc.
Feel free to say what you miss in other ROMs
I do not know when the first build will come, because I'm studying and the time is short. That's why I ask for your patience.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

All the best for studies
Pure AOSP as minimalistic as possible.
Oreo 8.1
Decent default camera app(google or OnePlus with everything working)
Fingerprint responsiveness
Audio output from speakers(like AEX 4.6)

Okay. I use Viper OS now, and it's perfect with battery usage. I want that please too.
- Hotspot function working on 5ghz network.
- Battery usage like Viper OS.
- Power up the speaker volume during calls.
- OTA updates.
I can't ask much except for performance and battery life and that's all I'd love to see in this rom..

Themes / Apps / Mods Magisk module for enabling auto brightness & more

This is a Magisk module that adds a hardware overlay for the Xperia 10 III for any PHH-Treble based ROM.
This amongst other things enables auto brightness!
To install, simply copy to your phone, and in Magisk use the "install from storage" option, then reboot.
While this overlay is based on official Sony files, it should be considered very experimental because I have no idea what I'm doing. GLHF

hi . your overlay is fine exept you have missed to remove some no-existing attribute for phh-gsi see https://github.com/pepijndevos/vendor_hardware_overlay/pull/1
phh said in my PR "I'll allow it" regarding these properties, which is why I left them. https://github.com/phhusson/vendor_hardware_overlay/pull/413#issuecomment-968368630 but I have not heard from him since, so unclear to me if he'll whitelist them or what I should do about them. If he'd told me to remove them I'd obviously have done so.

Overlay checked in sources & tested its fully stable.
Its will be included in next phh release its good news!
Great news. Bit weird that he did not give feedback on my PR for almost a month and then merged yours, but whatever.
One weird issue I'm having with my phone is that audio from Whatsapp/Signal/Twitter spaces plays at 3x speed fragments. I should test if this overlay has any effect on that. @ada12 does calling in Whatsapp/Signal work for your?

Question 1+9 pro vs pixel 6 pro?

I'm thinking of switching from 1+9 pro to pixel 6 pro. What are the disadvantages of this device in comparison with 1+?
I've just switched from a Oneplus 9 to a Pixel 6 Pro and the only things I am missing are the alert slider, face unlock and the smaller pre-Android 12 quick settings with separate wifi and data toggles. Apart from that everything is either the same or better. I got sick of the bugs in my Oneplus 9, especially a significant Android Auto one which does not occur on the Pixel.
Just a note that if you root you can use a Magisk Module to get face unlock.

For separate wifi and data toggles you have to put this in adb
settings put global settings_provider_model false
settings put secure sysui_qs_tiles “wifi, cell,$(settings get secure sysui_qs_tiles)”
I did that with Android 12

I did that earlier today, but it still only means two quick settings per row instead of the six I use to have on the OnePlus.

If you root, take your pick or combine for your choice of modifications. I use both of the first two right now for different features, although I've used the third in the past - maybe sometime I'll revisit the third one.

Here is how mine looks at the moment (I used Magisk Eraser on my Wi-Fi SSID):

The QuickSettings style is from the first item in my list above. StatusBar items I modified using the second item in my list. The third item in my list, Themer, has the ability to enlarge the clock in the QQS (Quick QuickSettings / first swipe down), so I might try it again and see if it'll play nice with both of the other modifications.
Note that although the options I chose in the first two modifications work with each other just fine, note that doesn't guarantee they'll keep working together, but I hope they do. The first item appears to override the second item as far as QuickSettings, at least for me.
