Banking app crashes on RR - Moto G7 Play Questions & Answers

Hi, all -
I have a G7 Play (xt 1952-4) running Resurrection Remix 8.7.2.
When I use my banking app to cash a check, the banking app crashes immediately after taking the first picture. The screen goes black for a few seconds, then I am returned to the login screen.
I have another xt 1952-4 running stock android. The app works fine on there, no problem cashing checks.
I got the .apk for my RR phone from the stock android phone by using MyAppSharer from the play store and then bluetoothing the .apk to the RR phone.
Other than the crash described above, I have found no issues with the app on the RR phone.
Any ideas what I can do to resolve this? I'd go to my bank and ask them to fix the app, but I don't think they'll care about supporting a phone with a custom ROM on it...
Thanks much for any input!

Hey, all -
Just reaching out again to see if anyone has any words of wisdom on this.
Thanks!

UK Devs, please make PingIT work...

Hi, little project maybe for someone out there.
Can you please make Barclays PingIT work on rooted phones without having to remove root or do 3 or 4 procedures every time before using PingIT.
I could only find 1 other thread here about PingIT and there was not really a solution there. would be really useful for rooted users to be able to use the app.
Thanks
not barclays pingit but natwest app works perfect on a rooted phone hope it gets sorted for you. maybe if your running custom rom check dpi of your rom as this can stop the app being installed in the store, google for the apk itay work that way as you wont have play store restrictions
if you already have it on your phone check dpi, permissions etc. it could be something simple had same issue with natwest app til i changed dpi

i think it is much more involved than that.
i have used PingIT on a new ICS install on my phone before rooting it and it works fine. However when you root it the app stops working and you get a message saying it wont work on a rooted phone due to security issues. there is a little info on the net about it where devs have tried to get around it but no one successfully yet as far as i could find.
no new news on this?

[Q] Apps crashing after rooting 4.4.2

I have a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact running Android v4.4.2 (build #14.3.A.0.757) and I rooted it yesterday using Easy Root Tool. The rooting went off without a hitch and I’ve installed Titanium Backup and a few Xposed Framework modules. The battery life is just as great as before and the device is working great, in general.
However, some third-party apps are crashing upon launch, like Attendance Tracker and Tapatalk, for example. And if I tap on any drop-down menu anywhere in the configuration for Tasker’s plugins, that plugin crashes. Also, I cannot use Face Unlock anymore because it crashes when I tap on it as well.
Can someone please help me fix this? Thanks.
Turns out it was due to this one Xposed module that supposedly adds fast scrolling everywhere. I uninstalled it and all the problems have vanished.
Well, except for Face Unlock, which still crashes the Settings app. Not sure how to fix that.
But anyway, please feel free to close this thread.

Unfortunately, Google play services has stopped

I'm trying to determine whether google play services stops because of the ROM or because of xposed mods I'm using. Its happening frequently but doesn't really affect much. There's no apps crashing. Its just mildly annoying needing to dismiss the message.
Are others experiencing this? Thought it might be the app amplify so I disabled it but the message still appears. Right now my mods areEnable call recording in CM, xposed torch, greenify, and YouTube adaway.

No, you're not the only one having that issue. In the CM11 for Fire Phone thread you can see people were reporting it. At least for now, since the ROM is beta, we can't expect it to work flawlessly.
P.S.: For the next threads you open in this forum, for Fire Phone or for any other device, it'd be better if you specify if you're rooted and if you used a custom ROM. Otherwise it could cause confusion. Someone reading this question could think stock FireOS has these issues.

Need root for xposed. I was gonna say xposed wouldn't work on fire os but I actually do use it on fire TV so I know that's probably not true. But you're right. Next time I'll give more details.
Beta is typically prone to bugs but I didn't get the "stopped working" message until last note, after activating xposed. Even that's not a clear cut trouble shoot because I've had ROMs run problem free for days then issues arise.
But overall, I am extremely pleased with CM 11! everything I use is working great.
On a side, off topic note, anyone found a way to install milk music on this?

That's weird. I'm using CM11 too, rooted and with Xposed and I don't get the "stopped working" notification. Maybe it's another thing. I remember that when I installed the Android Wear app Google Play Services crashed every 2 seconds (no joke, and no fun).
And about Milk Music, isn't that like asking for Live on YouTube - By Xperia™ to be available on non-Sony phones?

There's an xposed mod called chocolate milk that enables milk to run on many devices but far as I can see its a little dated and not sure which version works (the newest apk from playstore does not install),or if its even supported anymore. Not something I need but trying some new things.
Edit--actually I'm not 100% on the play store apk because I couldn't get apk downloader to fetch it on my Mac. I did pull a couple from other sources and those didn't work.
Oops- this was supposed to be for Milk Music install. Sorry guys!0 uhhh...Nevermind. I'm good.
I tried this way-
http://nexus5.wonderhowto.com/how-t...music-app-any-android-no-root-needed-0158456/
The apk's did install, I was able to open the milk app, but no sound would play and it prompted that this version was no longer supported and to download the newest version from the play store. This might work for anyone om CM 11, but I couldn't get to the play store to update, it always links you to amazon store. When I opened the play store it wouldn't show to download. There are tricks to change build props with root explorer if you google it. I am not rooted yet so I can''t give it a try. If you click a blank spot the pop up would go away, but the sound wouldn't play.

SnapChat?

Hello I had an account on here before but forgot the password, hence a new account . I have used all the roms for the fire phone and all are awesome but the best one for I have tested so far is fire nexus, anyway the post recommends XPosed I had no idea what it is but checked it out and its sweet . I was looking around for stuff on there when I found the Xposed App "This App Will Run Without Google Play Services" So I have just been thinking maybe if we rooted fire os, downloaded the apk of snapchat, installed Xposed on fire os, and install snapchat would it work without google play . im going to test this out and see how it goes i will report back soon this is just an idea.

App closes in background Android 8.1

Hi,
I'm using Lineage OS on a moto g5 that is rooted.
Basically my android phone keeps refreshing apps in the background everytime they are minimised.
I've tried turning off battery optimisation but nothing changes.
I upgraded recently from android 8 to 8.1 and it worked fine before but now I don't know what to do.
Is there any rooted solution for this that I can install to fix it? It's kind of important that it runs some of the apps at least in the background. Would making the app a system app help?
Thanks in advance!
