Nice, but.. No group chat?!
Excellent!!! Downloaded and running. messaging is very fast. Can't wait for calls. All my contacts added without issue.
Not the same experience with my messaging.
Delayed delivery even on the wifi and also hardly any toast notifications. Tiles work fine. But only when I go to see if there is any new notification is when I realise since there isn't any toasts working (it is selected to be on!)
I can not even get messages to deliver!
Anyone having better luck than me??

Yes, our calling feature is being developed these days for Windows Phone 7 as well. Unfortunately we still don't have specific release dates, but we estimate that it will take up to a few months.

As I replied to you in the Private Message, we have made some progress but unfortunately still don't have specific release dates.

But not even chat works fine right now. We have thousands bugs, at least fixing them would be nice already. We cant even participate on goup chat!

Consider it a dead joke. Most of the chat clients are on WP7 a dead joke. Each update ruins it further than fix it. Viber has taken over 2 years and still don't have enough resources to support WP7.

Not sure if its Viber´s team fault. WP 7.5 doesnt have support to incoming VOIP calls in background, so not even Skype will work as it should, and it is Microsoft's own app. Viber will be pointless without that (despite the fact that its almost pointless now, at least you know you cant, different from "doesnt work").
It will be fully functional in WP8.

I doubt that is entirely true. For Skype its a different story as they have a totally different infrastructure. But we have Tango video calls and they do work pretty well with all WPs. Even worked on WP7! Skype already has VOIP calls (not in background) whereas Viber doesn't even have that yet. Also, keyboard autocorrect isn't even present! Background notification agent is delayed, the bug list continues. If you read their reviews and ratings on marketplace you would know that if I was developing Viber, I would shoot myself by now. But again, developing is a hard job. Viber is too small a company to take up this task perhaps?

We are doing what we can to develop and include our calling service on Viber for Windows Phone. As mentioned above, it is not such an easy task and you presented it, and as a company policy, we want to make sure our service runs smoothly and offers full functionality. Unfortunately we still are not looking for Beta testers, but we will certainly keep you posted once we have news.
All that while, please keep in mind that we have many *many* other projects running in our company, and they are spread over many platforms (and Viber for new platforms is actually on its way). So if considering we only have limited resources, we cannot only focus on WP. However, as I explained, we are working around the clock to bring our calling service to our fans, and we'll let you know once we have news.

The API is functional, with a few exception of completed and non-common features from Google's documentations. It is a side product of my newest app, Please Like the Facebook page , and the app is available here

I tried using google reverse and geocoding apis but unfortunately, they state that the results must be used only for displaying on their own maps. I wanted to use the results to display in a listbox..Google needs to tweak their terms and conditions a bit and not make everything centric towards their own products
Hope someone can use this to make a Google+ app

Agreed. I haven't seen any more news about this since last October, and the last paragraphs in the article made it sound buggy in testing, and not available officially yet at the time:
However, as Mishaal further clarifies, it isn’t clear if the new profile will work in Android 12 out of the box. Creating a Clone profile doesn’t seem to be supported right now and there’s no flow for cloning apps or differentiating them in Android 12. In its current state, the feature seems to be incredibly buggy. As Luca Stefani found out, the Clone profile is seen by the launcher as a work profile and it randomly clones installed apps when created.
At the moment, we don’t have any further information about the new Clone profile. We’ll make sure to let you know as soon as we learn more. Until then, if you wish to install multiple instances of an app on your Pixel device, you can use a third-party app like Parallel Space.

Android 13 DP1 for some Pixel devices includes a Camera Obfuscator appGoogle has finally released the first Android 13 developer preview build for its Pixel devices. The update packs a host of new features and changes that will make their way to users with the next major Android upgrade, including new APIs, developer tools, new Quick Settings tiles, and more. In addition, Android 13 DP1 for some Pixel devices also packs a Camera Obfuscator app that Google hasn’t mentioned in its announcement post.
According to Android Police, the Camera Obfuscator app is preinstalled in Android 13 DP1 for the Pixel 6. It appears to be an image-sharing app that lets users strip all metadata from shared images, but it’s intended for internal Google use only. As Android Police explains, the app can open images or receive an intent for a shared image and then obfuscate it. While stripping metadata from a shared image, the app also shows a progress bar that says “Obfuscating image.”
As shown in the attached screenshots, users can either obfuscate images from within the Camera Obfuscator app before sharing or open the share menu on a different app, like Google Photos or Gallery, pick Camera Obfuscator from the share sheet, and then obfuscate the image.

On the surface, obfuscating an image using the app removes all metadata from an image. But Android Police speculates that it could be doing more behind the scenes, like stripping out other data found in JPEG files. Interestingly, the Camera Obfuscator app isn’t available in all Android 13 DP1 images. As mentioned earlier, it is available on Google’s flagship Pixel 6, but not on the Pixel 4 or the Pixel 4a 5G.
At the moment, we don’t have any further information about the Camera Obfuscator app. But the idea behind it is rather simple. It helps Googlers share images with family and friends without leaking info about upcoming camera features or other changes. Since Google accidentally included it in the first Android 13 developer preview release, we believe that the company could be working on new camera features for its Pixel lineup.
It’s worth mentioning that the Camera Obfuscator app is likely not related to Android 13, even though it’s the first time we’ve seen it. Mishaal Rahman says that Google has used it internally before, but the company doesn’t usually ship it in production builds.

I installed this app to test it out on my 6 Pro. It did indeed removes the location of the picture I took, as well as other metadata (aperture, exposure time, ISO & focal length).

Android 13 DP1 updates Privacy dashboard with optional longer data retentionLast year’s release of Android 12 included a new Privacy dashboard, which compiled all permissions requests from all the apps on your device into a readable format. Android 13 is on the way, and even though there aren’t many changes in the first Developer Preview, one of them might make the Privacy dashboard even more helpful.
The Privacy dashboard in Android 12 maintains a log of all permissions requests by applications for 24 hours, but as Esper highlighted in a blog post, Android 13 Developer Preview 1 is testing a new “show 7 days” menu option that retains data for a full week. The feature is not enabled by default, but if Google decides to release it, the functionality could potentially arrive on Android 12 too — thanks to the PermissionController Project Mainline module.

The existing Privacy dashboard displays a timeline of when apps access your device’s camera, microphone, device location, and other permissions. It’s available on all phones and tablets running Android 12, but app developer Rushikesh Kamewar created a clone last year that provides similar functionality (using system accessibility features) on any device with Android 7 or higher.
Android 13 Developer Preview 1 also includes new privacy features (such as an updated photo picker and new Wi-Fi permission), themed icons, language controls, and updated developer tools. Other changes not officially announced by Google have also been discovered, including changed haptics behavior in Silent mode, a clipboard auto-clear feature, updates to the Pixel Launcher on Google Pixel phones, updated media controls, new quick settings tiles, and more. More new features and changes will likely appear over the coming months as Google rolls out new Developer Previews and Beta releases.
