Firstly thanks @vikasrockz for this awesome rom
I think the installation instruction minus one step process that's flashing latest global FW after flashing ROM, cz i've tried it without flashing FW, rom wouldn't booting and back to recovery.
1. Reboot to Recovery
2. Download the proper ZIP for your device (copy to sdcard if internal doesn't detect by twrp (cz A12 encrypted) or do adb sideload for installation)
3. Wipe Data/Cache/System when coming from non-AOSP ROMs
4. Flash the ROM.zip
5. Flash latest FW Global_V12.5.8.0.RKQMIXM
6. Reboot to System and #KeepEvolving

Hello, thanks for the amazing rom but I am experiencing a lot of overheating issues and also sometimes my screen will just turn off and no way to turn it on again except for a reboot (happens everytime I charge the phone also it is just the display output because I tested and I can still use the touch screen just no display) and also Google camera isn't working I have to use camera go and it doesn't pick all the sensors. Any solutions or maybe something I need to do (I followed the instructions to install evolution x has you said) or is it something you need to fix in another update? (maybe fingers crossed)

I'm not sure, cz it doesn't happen in mine, the problem from my experience is just can't boot after do flashing instruction from OP, then i try my initiative to flash fw, then it boot normally, also fyi this phone is not mine..but my nephew has, i just help flashing it.
Hi @vikasrockz Thanks for this ROM. When can we expect update for this rom? Ok google/Hey google is not working and unable to use google camera also. Only camera go is working (macro camera sensor option is not there). We would be happy if you include inbuilt app lock feature.

Ok google is broken in Pixel Experience based roms, I don't know if they fixed it already.

No overheating, but battery life is not good. Also GBoard stops working from time to time.
I'm planning on switching to the Xperience project as it seems to have an active mantainer. Just waiting to confirm it also has "Unlimited" google photos uploads.

Hey @bugyou this is pixelos right? Correct me if I am wrong. I thought it is pixel xperience till now. because I could see unlimited upload banner in google photos app. I don't think we get unlimited google photos upload in xperience. We can do that using Zygisk xposed module "pixelify". I tried it but no luck.

Unfortunately I can't comparing between before and after update, because once the rom installed all the apps automatically updating

Also what recovery do you use? I haven't touched many roms for awhile. Do I need to format data before and/or after installing?
I'm kinda confused here.

Clean install and too lazy for backing up all apps lol. So it was like a brand new phone. Currently using TWRP (idk which version)

You can backup your apps using an app like Swift Backup, however do note that you need to be rooted so as to grant it SU permission. Use OrangeFox recovery latest official, it works great! You might not need to format data if you want to use the ROM in decrypted form. Just have to flash DFE once before booting.
This is how it usually works, nonetheless do check with the maintainer once.

Okay, thanks for the heads up. Oh, I'm a root user so I'll flash magisk afterwards anyway.
Is swift backup able to backup all apps and working properly after restored? And which orangefox is recommended? I see there are 4.4 and 4.14 ones.
So, just flash DFE after the ROM without formatting data will work?
I'm really really confused about all this FBE n decryption things. Last time i checked it was SAR and non SAR ROMs. Now on most ROMs (like arrow, pe and previous a11 evox etc), they got encryption by default, which is really not my cup of tea. SO I'd rather stay decrypted after doing some reading.

Use 4.4 version of OrFox, it supports both.
Also if we can connect on Telegram, I can share the DFE file to you in case you haven't found it yet. Basically it allows you to use an FBE ROM without the encryption.

- TWRP recovery does not decrypt internal storage with a pin set, this is TWRP's fault, but does not affect OTAs, cancel when prompted for pin it will say its incorrect. [fixed with latest twrp]

- SIM2 mobile data does not work (for dual sim users) but the sim itself works fine [FIXED in 3.5.2]
- gyro sensor creates a drift in some games [FIXED in 3.6]

The Zip installer is used for easier access when flashing roms, the img is there in case you have forgotten to flash the zip and have lost recovery.
Flashing instructions
Clean Flash:
1. Take a full backup of both your data and internal storage as it may be wiped.
2. Download the ROM from above link and flash the recovery zip
3. Download the recovery zip of your choosing and flash it if not already on latest twrp.
4. boot into recovery and either remove rom pin or wipe internal to have it accessible to copy rom zip over (due to the decryption bug) or just use external sd card to flash.
5. flash the rom zip and recovery zip again right after the rom zip before rebooting , it will reboot you to recovery automatically in other slot. (optional) cherish recovery included.
6. Flash any mods you may want
7. run factory reset from recovery, or wipe /data and /dalvik if you don't want internal wiped.
8. reboot to system and enjoy!
(flashing Atomix zip is only needed if you flash the .img to fix hotspot, but not with the zip)
Installing an OTA (Dirty flash):
1. Download the ROM from above link
2. flash the rom zip and recovery zip and let it reboot into recovery.
3. wipe Dalvik cache only
4. flash any mods you had previously flashed.

Yes you are correct. Ive updated the post accordingly, however it is always to be assumed any rom besides stock needs T-virus to work as it requires the treble base.

Yes, its using all the ddv blobs and hal's, and everything has been upgraded. All A12 roms for NB1 going forward will use them

Couple of possible bugs
1) Do not change the display cut out from default- it blanks the whole screen without any way to change back other than by factory resetting.
2) I can't connect to Internet when I turn on expressvpn. Might be just me though.
This just proves that the Nokia 8 is still a very capable device in 2022.
Can't really get a logcat for the first one but will look into the second one to see if there's a workaround for the VPN issue.
And just in case anyone is wondering, banking apps work just fine. Safetynet passes and Selinux is indeed enforcing
Latest Gcam seems to be a hit and miss for some modes. I'll share if there's a better one out there more suited to the Nokia 8

Hi all, found a fix for the VPN not connecting. I found that I had to be on a TCP protocol for it to work. I had issues with a UDP connection. Didn't have this issue on Pie so assume it's to do with this ROM, but nonetheless here's the solution if you've got the same problem.

I just tested UDP now with windscribe and i connected without any issues. Likely the issue is your vpn providers app not fully compatible with A12 yet.

You have to dirty flash through twrp. I am looking into how i can integrate an OTA updater but for now dirty flash procedure

Thanks @optimusprime9811 for this. Just want to ask that since I am on 2.9, can I follow the instructions here but not wipe? Or would that break everything?

If you want to flash dirty a12 to a13
Soo always full clean flash recommended
Whenever you update Android version 12=13
For less issue n Better performance
After then you can do dirty without any issues

Hello, I've installed Awaken 3.0 but i was forced to do a factory reset because i was stuck at recovery.. I made the update via the automatic update system of awaken os.. so i don't know why i've been stuck at bootloader.
I've a problem, when a try to recover my google back up, it says that a have no back up but in my google account ( drive ) i can see a back up.. how can i put my google back up again.. ( i need to put back the system back up because i have all my wifi password, etc )

You need to download the OOS11 for OnePlus6 , that file is for 6T.

I know it's the unofficial 'wrong' way to do it, just sharing my experience. I went fron 2.9 to 2.10 by manually updating via built-in updater, then upgraded to 3 via adb sideload. So far everything appears to be working correctly. Fingerprint is functional again, ambient display is back, paypal/banking stuff is working again.
It's running similar to how awaken 2.9 did, but on android 13. If anyone else "accidentally" went to 2.10 and don't want to have to reflash/wipe, the sideload method appears to, so far, work reasonably as a relatively painless way to do so.

May I ask for an alternative to Titanium Backup? All the backups created with TB on 2.9 will not restore on this new version. IS there a way to get around this please?
Update - I dug around and saw that the app to use is swift so I am going back to 2.9, restore my apps, then get Swift to do the backup, then go back to 13

We will try to provide updates as much as possible, but if you're concerned, this build includes VNDK 33.0, so you can use GSI.

Sorry, I don't own a G8141/G8142, so I can't check NFC operation.
As for encryption, I think it's available.
Regardless of this ROM, using a management app like Microsoft Intune is probably not recommended for devices with an unlocked bootloader.
Too bad, then it is not interesting for me.
The custom rom LinageOS 20 , can access the camera button without restriction.
If I flash the earlier version of this rom, can I dirty flash the latest one?

From the initial ROM, you can do Dirty Flash.
We also recommend that you back up your data if necessary, just in case.

After trying it it's a smooth and fluid rom a great rom for gaming i only have one problem wich is not a rom problem i just want some help when i change the screen resolution to 720p to save some battery and launch a game it doesn't show full screen in stead it shows you a button that says tap to view in full screen it's really annoying if i change music and get back to the app i have to restart the app so any help? thank you.

I'm having trouble setting up the work profile on this device. Is this a known issue or did I do something wrong?
Adding multiple users to the device is easy enough but not really what I'm looking for.
Unfortunately it seems like work profile won't work on this rom. Even after a reset, it still refuses to work. Both island and shelter apps don't work. I get all the work options under settings such as notifications and profile settings but can't connect the actual work profile.
Does this rom support wireless power sharing thanks in advance

It does. Check your drop down menu, hit the edit button and you'll see PowerShare is available there to switch on.

I think it might be an install issue. you might have to reinstall the ROM. I just changed the sound of notifications from the settings panel. Worked fine. Also changed the notifications from inside whatsapp and that worked fine. Which sound exactly did you try to change and caused it to crash. I'll try mine and see what happens on mine.

Maybe the problem is with Google Sound picker app.
When I click for GS app immediately I see Settings App crash. Could it be related with Migrate using? I mean restore all apps from other rom?

That's possible. Since each Android version is different. Maybe try a full clean install and then install that same app and see what happens. If it still crashes then there's a different issue. So far I've only used the built in options for sound picking. Haven't swapped to a different app yet.
Hi guys, is there any specific reason that all the android13 custom roms do not support newer firmware versions? I'm willing to try them but I've updated my phone to the latest official version, should I stop any updates from now on? Thanks in advance.

I'm not cook so I have no idea how this update thing works. Doesn't make sense that an older update is required for a new os. But that being said, you can keep your stuff updated. But when you decide to flash, flash the older firmware and then the ROM.
