Great work!

Great recovery. Thank you for compiling and posting here.
However, just like TWRP for Android 11, this recovery is not able to restore data partition.
I don't suppose someone has a workaround ?

Trying it out and so far it's great! Like the features it offers over twrp so far!

Restore data. The decryption works fine, but any attepms at restoring data cause boot loops.

sorry im taking so long to get back. i offer better support through the tg channel.
But let me ask.... are you having the same problem with twrp as well.

Yes, TWRP has exactly the same issue.

I tried the latest TWRP version today and got the same issue.
This is the error that comes up in TWRP log when the system auto reboots into recovery after data restore:
--reason=set_policy failed:/data/local

can you grab the logs from twrp or orange fox.
from a terminal window with device plugged in and booted into recovery type
adb logcat > log.txt
then try to restore the back up. when done type
shift ctrl z
and upload the log.txt either here or by pm and ill get with the twrp dev and see if we cant fix that for both ofox and twrp

I attached the file to this reply.
Let me know if you need any other logs.
Edit: the site doesn't seem to allow me to attach the file.

Right. Sorry.
It was TWRP 3.6.1_11-0
Pixel 3A
Android 11, factory image - sargo-rq3a.211001.001

ok so i talked to captain throwback and he thinks its due to an unpushed commit to the device tree. but he needs a recovery log to make sure.
would it be a problem to get you try again and grab the twrp recovery log after doing it.
if thats what it is we can have twrp and ofox fixed in the next week or so

See attached.

This file is probably what you need. The log was saved right after data restore operation, whereas, the first recovery log was saved after a reboot.

all right ty. we will get right on it. hopefully its a simple fix. i still have ofox synced on my pc so as soon we get it figured out ill do a fresh build and post it

TWRP might never be as before and thats something we all have to accept. Google did some major changes and it will take some time to fix that.
I'm using my 7T now for more than a half year without fully working and stable TWRP. I still don't miss it. For root there are a few instructions and custom ROMs can be flashed with fastboot. Kernel can be flashed easily with Kernel manager. Let's wait and see...
For kernel flashing you need root.

Sure you will need to have root. but that's common and possible without TWRP.
Thanks so much to mauronofrio for that TWRP port!
Installed in few minutes.
Magisk installed with no problem.
Thanks dev!
Just installed magisk, too. Everything working like a charm!
Thanks mauronofrio!
I tried to root bybusing this twrp , i did the things mentioned below,
1.Unlocked bootloader,
2.Downloaded Magisk zip
3.Booted into Fastboot mode
4.Booted Twrp, fastboot boot Twrp name
5.Install magisk zip in twrp
6.Rebooted the device, but ended with bootloop

KOSP is a small project based off AOSP and we intend to improve upon AOSP to provide a stable and better alternative to OEM roms with additional features.

There are some cool features, see for yourself
Truth is I'm just lazy to write a long list of features and we intend to focus on the stability rather than adding a ton of features.

Bug reporting:
DO NOT report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
Do not approach us without any logs for reporting bugs
If it is a random reboot, grab everything from /sys/fs/pstore. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

No.
Is this based on any of the two existing TWRP modifications for Poco F3 or is it a new approach? Reasons for asking is that they both come with their own type of bugs.

I have tried to take the good parts of all the existing TWRPs and add my own modifications to make the recovery more stable. There will be regular updates almost every week, so make sure to check the download link almost every other day. The auto reflash ofox feature won't be implemented until the ofox source developers add it. Till that time, you can just select ofox zip in the "add to queue" option so that it will reflash after the ROM flashes
Works great so far, xiaomi.eu stable 12.5.19 (android 11)
In fact, it works better than twrp, to do a backup with twrp I had to run the rm data/extm - Rf before I could backup, but with orange fox, it works normally, no commands needed
Thankyou for your work on this sir
It really works. Xiaomi.eu stable 12.5.19. Backup also works, only restoration does not work ERROR: 255
Many Thanks

I have noted down the issue. It seems I had not added fastbootd functionality. I am working on a fix and will release a new build soon
Ok,thank you for fixing this

Any chance of A12 decryption like the twrp skkk where if you don't have a lock screen, it can decrypt?

I don't know what black magic that guy has done to achieve that, since his trees are private (they are not on github) and I've tried contacting him 2-3 times. All I got was no response. And I myself have tried to figure it out on my own more than 5-10 times, still no luck. So I don't think I'll be able to implement a12 decryption until TWRP officially supports it.

You're doing a good job either way. Keep it up.
The only reason I switched back to twrp from orangefox was it woudnt virabte on touch so I couldn't figure out if the recovery is fully functional and I can start using it or its still booting.

ArrowOS 13 test
Good day all, I tested the first build of ArrowOS when they first updated to 13, anyone want to test a recent build let me know if it's running smooth. If your on a custom rom already there should be no need to flash vendor_boot and boot however if not, you can download both files as well.

you have posted several borked roms that wont boot.... you should personally test these before making a post
Only two, the actual rom in the thread boots and works, the second post which I asked for someone to test is perfectly fine I believe, nevertheless you are correct I should test first however I hate having to constantly reset.

Perhaps A13 bootloader bug. Will test and see.
Weirdly, the first build I did for A13 still works perfectly fine. Getting the same error as you for the recent build. Doing further testing.
Any chance for Oriole? Loved arrow on mine mi9t, perfect rom..
