I have nothing to complain but im not really happy about the battery usage tbh. But im using my phone a lot too.
For everything else i am very happy with my OP8Pro.

I used the OnePlua 8 Pro in 2020, edge 20 Pro in 2021.
You will get about 50% of the battery life of the edge 20 Pro. edge 20 Pro has a newer and much more efficient display, at FHD rather than 1440p. Exceptional battery life on the edge.
OnePlus 8 Pro has a better camera all round, but no periscope zoom.
Stick with the edge unless you really need water resistance, wireless charging, or the main camera. For all of these you are better off waiting for newer products anyway.

Question from s7 edge user

Im currently using s7 edge. Battery life getting worse. So im planung to buy this device. Specially for the battery life., can someone tellme comparison with this device and s7e. Currently i never handson a xiaomi device. So please tell me display, camera speed, battery campared with s7e.
Even I don't use Xiaomi phones but Most of my friends using xiaomi.
If you looking for better battery,Xiaomi is better than S7 edge but not in display,And In the camera sensor Xiaomi Uses the same sensor that used on Nokia 8 sirocco. And I include some Rear camera sample's too.

Don't update. Stay with your s7 edge. It's a beast of a phone. Just the fact that the screen is amoled and that the camera is optically stabilized makes it far better.
Don't even consider the redmi note 5 pro at this point. It has worse screen, build quality, camera and pretty much everything is worse than the s7 edge.

About the camera comparison, you can have a look at this video.

A70 vs Oneplus 6T

I have already been ridiculed for trying to compare the 6T to the a50,but the a70 looks to be a better match up
Thinking of changing my 6T this summer
Perhaps for a OnePlus 7,
Any thoughts on the a70
It will be cheaper but is it too big ?

Why exactly are you getting rid of your 6T? It's overall a great device and can easily last you for another year or even more?

Still One plus 6T is best than A70. if u r planning to go with A70 then its not advisable when compared to 6T.

Reasons to go a70
Better display
6.7 inch screen
Bigger Battery,4500mah with 25 watt quick charge
SD card Support
Always On Display
Triple Camera
Better Cameras 32+8+5
32 mp front camera
Not confirmed but probably newer in screen fingerprint tech
Headphone jack
Improved brightness
Fm radio
Lower SAR values(if it bothers u)
One UI has more features but still close to stock
Against A70
Snapdragon 675
No oxygen OS nearly stock
Frequency of updates
OnePlus community
To sum up,thre are definitely reasons to go with the A70 and I'm seriously considering swapping my 6T for one when it comes out here next week. Im not a gamer at all on Android so do I need the Snapdragon 845,not at all.I could use all the features on the a70 though but may well stay with my 6T regardless.

You make some good points and I agree with you. Regarding gaming I know you said you don't play them on the phone, but you shouldn't worry at all, A70 will play all the latest games no problem if you decide to play something. I tried some games on A50 and it had no problems running any, and A70 has even better specs!

Yes I believe this is true, the 675 is a great chip.I used a device with 660 and there was no problems whatsoever, Processors these days are typically great above the 660,
Still on the fence about the a70 though, have been looking at the reviews, many point out issues with the cameras, front and back
Would need these to be great if I'm gonna swap my 6T which has been performing a lot better with Gcam
After much research and scouring the internet for reviews and insight,
I have decided not to go with the a70,although it is a capable and attractive device with many features, there are some downsides that would be too annoying to live with,
Most notably the in display fingerprint sensor which looks like it's first generation tech
And the camera not quite fullfilling it's potential in terms of megapixel stated and lack of stabilisation,
It would not be worth me giving up my 6T for this device,
I will continue to try and find a decent mid range device with good if not excellent camera and features the a70 have,
It may take another year actually but certainly the mid range section is getting better all the time

You're making the right decision I've had a 6T and A70 and the 6T has a much better camera specially in low light which is the real weak point of the A70. Megapixels are just numbers and doesn't say anything about camera quality. The camera and fingerprint sensor are the two weakest points of this phone. I didn't like the fingerprint reader even in the 6T as I found it annoying but this one is even worse and I rely on face unlock and only use fingerprints for authorization in banking apps etc. However screen is better and battery life is much better.

Hi,
So far, I'd call that a really wise decision.
First, display is of course 6.7 inch... But with a 20:9 ratio, it looks tiny compared to the 6.9" of the mi Mix 3 I had before the A70.
Second, I seem to be allergic to AMOLED/SuperAMOLED technology. Display gets a really blue tint when tilted.
Third : battery life is real not on par with what I would expect from a 4500mAh battery.
Fourth : I am unable to use Super Fast Charging and I never had a device charging that slowly in the past 4 or 5 years...
Good I bought this device from Amazon and so can give it back within 30 days...
It is a disappointment, bercause on paper it had everything I am looking for.
Real life sometimes hits pretty hard
Regards.

Yea,seems to be a bit of a disappointment overall for this phone, glad I didn't go for it,shame because on paper it seems ideal
I'm getting great batterytime on mine.
But camera and fingerprint reader is not where it should be for the pricerange.
For example my Xiaomi MI 9 SE is cheaper and camera is way better, and fingerprint reader is also better, but like most in-screen readers it is still slow. But sure it lacks headphone jack and has shorter runtimes with its 3000mAh battery.
Overall the Mi 9 SE is a better phone for less money.

Hi,
Nice statement, but comparing a A70 and a mi9 SE is kind of pointless.
I don't think you can compare a 5.9" display phone with a 6.7" display phone.
Even if the rest is nearly identical.
Don't get me wrong.
I am a great Xiaomi fan.
If Xiaomi would have released a smartphone ABOVE 6.5" AND with a decent SoC, I would have gone for that immediatly.
But the only "phablet" in the Xiaomi range of products is the mi Max 3 (that I currently have) and that one does have a SD 636 and it has really horrible latency when you touch the display.
Regards.

Are you sure you have enabled fast charging in settings? Battery / Settings / Fast Charging With Cable.
Just a thought, mine charges from 10% to 100 % in about an hour and a half.
Do remember that 25w charging is only enabled when the screen is off or the AOD is activated. Whenever the screen is on, even on the lockscreen, it'll be limited to 6w.

Which phone is significantly better than Pixel 2 XL ?

I am confuse which phone to upgrade right now .. I have switched to few phones i.e HTC U11, P20 pro, S9 Plus, S8 Plus, Honor 10, P20, note 9 etc but none of them impressed me and came back to Pixel 2 XL....Which phone is significantly better than Pixel 2 XL? When I say better I mean better camera, sound and battery life which are three important factor for me in smartphones....new pixel phones are only slight updates ..what options are there in others brands ..It seem there is no prefect phone out there which provide everything without any compromise
In my opinion, not much unless you want to get something from the S10 series. I tried the Xiaomi MI 9 and it just didnt feel right. Specs were good but it just wasnt polished like the pixel phone. I'm personally waiting for the Pixel 4 xl to come out.

My wife has the S10+ and lives it. A few years ago she got the S8+ then got the S9+. On the S8+ they started hurtling the experience of you rooted so at that point she said screw it and didn't care about the customization options of rooting. Now she done care at all.
I think if you are in the scene and really enjoy the experience of modifying and squeezing every ounce of whatever gets you off then the S phones are not for you. If on the other hand, you can't really qualify why you root other than just cause it's cool, the S10+ certainly a great phone...
I am really hoping the Pixel 4 XL is a solid improvement with no stupid notch. 6 or 8 megs and a slamming screen need to happen also!!
I don't think there's any phone right now that's "significantly" better to be honest. Maybe just better in some ways. I still think it'll be a couple years before you can say significantly tho.
P30 Pro would be the phone to have but I wouldn't call it the ultimate device to have as that doesn't exist. However it is a great phone no doubt. I'm using the Mate 20 Pro and absolutely love it so my next device would be the Mate 30 Pro.
I had the Pixel 2 XL back in the day and it was an amazing phone. I didn't want to get the 3XL because it seemed like a downgrade. If things get better with the Pixel 4 XL like 4000 mah battery and better body I might give it a try over the Mate 30 Pro. However its going to take a lot to take me away from Huawei now.
I tired many phones and my favorite two are Mate 20 Pro and Pixel 2 XL
What about OnePlus 6T? You can toss in the Google Pixel Camera and the photo quality is surprisingly good. OxygenOS is not my cup of tea but it's pretty close to stock plus there's a lot of Rom support and development.

I have tried many samsung phones from Samsung s6/ S7 edge to S9 Plus/Note 9 but I have got same sort of experience ..Not much improvement in design, Display, software and camera ..only slight tweak here and there. I compared s7 edge photo with S9 plus and they were pretty much same and even s7 edge has better result and details in some photos thats why I did not went for S10 ..Samsung old phones offer same experience in less price .. I am also not big fan of curve edge screen which are slippery and not easy to grip because you accidently touch screen while holding it ..If I will ever get any phone from S10 series then will opt for s10 e even though its battery is small but Samsung software even one UI with latest hardware was not as fluid as pixel or ios

I have not tried p30 pro or mate 20 pro but had p20 pro. I purchased p20 pro after DxO mark gave it high score in camea but to be hoenst camera was big disappointment especially when taking photos of human faces, children, moving object etc....skin tone was like as if its oil painting ..very artificial looking and this was when Master AI feature was turned off ..Camera was great for static object and low light photography . It was downgrade from pixel 2 ..now I don't trust DxO mark thats why did not went for mate 20 pro or p30 pro because they got very much same score ..They no doubt offer great package but I still have some doubt about camera and software but I will take Huawei flagship over Samsung any day

Oneplus 6T is probably my second best after pixel/ios when we consider software experience but camera is still not among top and I am looking forward what Oneplus 7 bring in few days . I've been very happy with my 2 XL since its release, but since I'm on T-Mobile, I'm seriously looking at the OnePlus 7 Pro. It looks like a great phone at a great price, plus it supports 600 MHz and 5G.
Better in term of specs or user experience?
5G is coming coverage or support is very small for now. I am waiting for Pixel XL 5 or 6 to replace my current P2XL.
As long as Google is updating, I am not replacing my phone

I don't care about latest specs to be honest but camera , battery and great sound is my priority ..I like stock and close to stock software as well . rest I don't care ram is 4GB or 6/8GB and whther its running SD 835 or 845/855 etc because they hardly make any difference in real life experience except feeling good factor of having latest and greatest

I'm not much of a photographer so the camera doesn't matter much to me. I'm thinking now that I'll wait to see what the Pixel 4 XL and the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G look like before I decide what or if I'll switch.

There are few things which bother me about pixel 2 XL
1) speaker is nice when playing music /youtube but is low during video call on WhatsApp, skype etc ..earpiece/mic quality is also average. Call quality of iphone xr was another level
2) brightness is not great and often i need to drag brightness slider to 90 percent when brightness of samsung and even cheap redmi note series was more than enough at 40/50 percent
I disagree with the brightness , mine is on par with the other phones I've had...
Loudspeaker quality you could always root and tinker with XML files

It might be on par with other phones you've had but that doesn't mean it's not low. It's only rated at a max of 483 nits when other phones are double that at max auto brightness.

I have turned adaptive brightness off because it was always more dark than my taste
I think behaviour of brightness slider have been changed after pie update because it get bright only when drag slider all the way to right side at 80 percent indoor and at 90/95 percent outdoor

Yes the brightness slider became linear with Android Pie.
https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/...c-brightness-slider-introduced-android-p-dp3/
So 50% on the slider is truly 50% of what the screen is capable of. So for the Pixel 2 XL it should be around 242 nits. And for something like a Samsung S9+ or S10+, 50% should be around 500+ nits since they have a max 1000+ nits rating.
For me, adaptive brightness does fine. Goes to 100% in bright outdoors and is bright enough indoors and low enough for low light. The idea is you're supposed to make adjustments to your liking and eventually you don't have to make them anymore. I "calibrate" mine by putting my phone to 0% when in pitch black. After that it's fine for me in all lighting conditions.

Samsung S9 vs Huawei P20 PRO?

Hello there,
My main phone just broke, and for now I can't afford a recent flagship, although I have two options for my budget. (both the same price)
As the title says, I have to choose between a Huawei P20 PRO [128 gb / 6 gb RAM] and a Samsung Galaxy S9 [Exynos 64 gb/ 4gb RAM] (not plus).
So, I would like to ask you if I can get some guidance, I have read reviews and watched a lot of videos, but I'm still not sure...
I'm interested in a reliable device, a day battery for me is enough, a great all rounder camera in any condition.
I just have some concerns about the Huawei device, no OIS, no headphone jack and no Micro SD slot is a really turn off for me, but I would like to know if the experience overall compensate this (if any of you have switched between these two). For the Samsung, I have seen that night or low light pictures are not as good as the Huawei, and so is the battery (3000 mAh vs 4000 mAh).
Thanks in advance, I would really appreciate your answers.
Hi, just sharing my experience with you about the s9. I have never owned a p 20 pro but before I got my first s9, I did a quick hands on with the p20 pro. I was more swayed by the s9 because at the time, one of the main selling points was the quality of the stereo speakers on the s9, something which was missing on the s8.
I traded in my first s9 after a while and went through a series of phones including the Note 9, s10+ and finally the oneplus 7 pro. A few months back, I came across an s9 demo unit on the cheap. Everything in the box was untouched and after checking for burn in and scratches, I bought it. I used it together with my 7 pro and ultimately decided to sell the 7 pro and keep the s9.
Sounds a bit crazy but the s9 was always at the back of my mind when I was using the other phones. It is a very good all rounder phone. I have no regrets giving up faster charging, a bigger screen, higher refresh rate and faster processor for useful features like notification light, headphone jack, iris scanner and a higher resolution because of its smaller size.
One ui 2.1 has given it a new lease of life and although there will not be any further android version updates, my only plan is to change the battery when the time comes.
I'd be interested if Samsung did an iPhone SE makeover of the s9. I might consider a new phone then.
I only have the S9 not the P20, but if I were you I'd rather choose the latest phone available out there. since it has more recent software, unlike the S9 which I believe this year is the last year that the phone is still got the software update unless you use the updated custom rom. also there are a lot of phones that has long battery life, higher storage, higher ram, maybe a bit better camera than both s9 and p20, and again more recent software. I think it's more worth it rather than buying a 3 y/o flagship phones.
Also nowadays I feel like running stock firmware on this phone is still reliable, it's not buttery smooth like it used to that's why I'm using the custom rom. other than that, this phone really fits my hand perfectly that's what makes me still considering this phone as my daily driver.
But that's just my opinion tho
I have the p20 pro and I'm thinking to switch to the S9.
I can say that the batterie is awesome on the huawei, I get 7h On Screnn with 25% left.
But i hate the caméra, it makes good images at low light but on daylight it's horrible. Hdr sucks, oversharpening, human faces are Just drawed with oil painting, front caméra is blurry and overexposed. I prefer Xiaomi mi A3 with Gcam. Vidéo is also bad.
Emui 10 is also full of bugs. I regret switching from S8+ and Xiaomi Mi9T to P20 pro.
S8+ was much better and with gcam it's amazing, i'd like to switch to s9 but i think i Will regret it because of the ppor battery life.

Question Oneplus 9 pro Vs Oneplus 8T

Hi Guys !
To those of you who have tried both terminals and with a price difference of 150 euros more for the 9 pro. You currently, which one would you choose?
Although the question seems obvious, in many comparisons they say that the 8t is practically as fast opening apps and its autonomy is also similar.
I know that the 9 pro camera is better but the curved screen I don't know if it will be the most practical.
What is your opinion ?
Thank you very much !
Came from Op8T. A few short comments
I'd say the size of 9Pro is bit clumsy for me. Speed is about the same. Battery might be a bit better, but difficult to notice. Have to give it more time.
Cell reception seems better. Speakers are much more louder and nicer sounding. Camera of course is noticeably better, especially zoom.
Overall solid upgrade, but I wish the Op9pro was smaller. For 150 Eur difference I would say its worth it. I got mine for 400 EUR, brand new (via deal I found on reddit)

They're pretty similar overall. Of course the 9 pro has the upgraded cameras, 8k/hdr and wireless charging. Coming from the 7tp5g, I REALLY don't like curved screens. I was very happy to find out the curve of the 9 pro is minimal. I can barely tell, especially with a case on. The 9 (non pro) has a flat screen if that was an option you're looking at. I notice a speed increase for opening games over the 7tp5g but virtually all 'normal' activities are the same. Plenty fast.
There is the certification for ip68 with the 9 pro if you're one to wash your phone often or your phone insurance requires ip68 certification. However, I've washed my 5T and 7TP5g dozens of times and they both still work great. I took the 7 swimming and it was/is fine. I'd expect the 8T to be water resistant also. I've read some people say they need the certification for their phone insurance so figured I should mention it.
The 9 pro uses ltpo display whereas the 8T does not. The 9 pro has wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
One other thing to consider is the 9 pro has a better radio. Rather, I should say, the radio supports more bands. Depending on your country/area and service, it may be a bigger benefit than it would be to some others.
I went 5T->7TP5G->10T->9P. I feel OnePlus I used to love is dead and gone now. It made sense for me to get the last version of the "real" OnePlus lineup. Which is the 9 series. Development for the 10 is limited and will remain limited until an msm solution is found.
If you're one that cares about 8k/hdr, needs more band support for service, use wireless charging, takes a lot of pictures or prefer ltpo, or need to charge your headphones on the go with reverse charging - it may be worth it for you. If those really don't matter for you, save the money and get the 8T
