First time installing crDroid to your ENTER-PHONE-NAME, or coming from another ROM: <--THESE MAY NEED UPDATING FOR YOUR PARTICULAR DEVICE; BE THOROUGH IN INSTRUCTIONS-->
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip <--& vendor img, if applicable--> to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed!
- have modified system files

Very good work!!!!
Everything fine, double sim and camera working. The only problem is that recorded calls can't be played by stock player. Using VLC instead.
I have a question....
While installing this rom my phone became encrypted ( is a good thing ) but I was not interested in this right now.
There's something I can do to avoid encrypting phone while installing?

Hi!, i have a problem, after i flashed lineage recovery (I came from beyondrom 2.1 with android 11 and oneUI 3.0) I format data and then I flashed the rom, so i rebooted system, it appear the logo of crdroid and after 30 minutes the system didnt reboot yet...is in loop, how can i do?which is the problem? pls help me!!thank you

Maybe just try it yourself, after taking a full backup, and putting it to a save place?
You always can do a clean flash thereafter, if dirty flash is failing ...

ah okay. actual twrp based recoveries can for sure flash a12 but you have to decrypt your internal data while flashing using a dfe zip. i don't know if it works with every rom but i know pixel-based roms are also working with encrypted data when using los-based recoveries that are mostly shipped with the rom, look out for it on threads first pages. can't tell more since i've no experience with these. hope it helps a bit. cheers

I have installed CrDroid 8. I have used Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt. The system works, it is decrypted. Unfortunately, when I want to enter recovery, TWRP freezes at the logo screen

I installed OrangeFox recovery via the fastboot command and now recovery is working

Revived my Tab S5e Wifi with this ROM. Works much better than Stock that was still running on Android 11 with July22 security update

Just upgraded via twrp right from 8.1 (android 12.1)
Did not do any cleans or anything.
Installed the recommended mindthegapps and a fresh reboot after the initial boot and all is good!
Can't download ROM .zip file from Source Forge. Says file not found.

Thank you once again for this, though when I power off and back on it seems to do a fresh wipe and restart. Seems the power off is doing a factory reset. Just restarting it's fine. I'm using TWRP also not rooted. I'm figuring I need to patch the image again. any suggestions, thank you.
Couple days ago I installed crdroid 13 on this tablet. I gave my daughter a Tab s8 in xmas and I kept her tablet. I have been testing this ROM and I can also root it and install v4a, all good, the only thing I notice is that there is lag, minimizing or turning pages or opening applications I hope that dev can improve the ROM with futures updates.
Is it possible to cast the screen to a chromecast ultra with this rom?

Hi Louvass, i was asking for this crDroid rom. Not for the stock rom ;-)
Hi Loretta, I meant that yes it works the same as in the stock rom. ;-) I just forgot what the label was. I been having a hard time getting it not to wipe my tablet every time I power it off.

And are you able to connect to a chromecast? I have a few devices here with Lineage 18.1 19.1 and 20.0 and they all don't show my chromecast (wireless devices are activeded in the stream preferences). But other smartphones with stockroms shows my chromecast instantly.

I'm sorry i didn't get a chance to try it, due to having rebooting issues I went back to stock until I figure out whats causing it.
Found this in the stock changelog of T720XXU2DUD7 Release Date : 2021-05-25:
You can no longer connect to Chromecast using Smart View. You can use Google Home instead.
That sound like a problem for a degoogled rom. But there is chromecast mentioned in the microg libraries. So does it work?
