restore fake rom 8.0.10.0.0 gearbest

hi to all:
my phone have a camera problem, some parts are fuzzy
i'm going to return to gearbest under warranty, but i have a problem, the phone comes with a fake rom 8.0.10.0.0, i download oficial global stabale 8.0.3.0, put it on internal memory and update with updater program
and the fuzzy camera is still, i try with other camera apps and same problem
now, i have to restore to original rom because in gearbeset page says:
This Android/Windows device is designed to function specifically with the current Android/Windows OS installed on it. Any alterations such as upgrades, modding with custom ROMs, rooting or flashing the Android device with other firmware will automatically void the device's warranty.
i have restored the phone and the rom is the global stable 8.0.3.0, and i need to restore to 8.0.10.0.0

I don't even know what in archive... I took it from other forum, but it should work. Can you send me a screenshot of file list that you unpacked?

Here's what to do to flash that ROM:
You must have an unlocked bootloader first.
1. Enter fastboot mode
2. Run the flash_all.bat
3. Wait until done, the phone will restart.
(I reckon that you can use MiFlash to do this too, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Ok, If you have few .img files, one folder and 2 or 3 .bat files - you have ROM pack for fastboot. You should activate fadtboot mode on phone ( turn off, volume down+power or volume up+power, I don't remember ). After that launch Mi Flash, connect phone in this mode, after that press refresh, phone should appear in program's window. Next - find folder with unpacked ROM through Mi Flash, choose variant of flash ( bottom right corner, I recommend flash all and lock for your variant ). Wait until the end ( usually 2-5 minutes ). Done! Don't forget to press thanks button if I helped you.

Is the page u bought from says the Rom is a custom one? If not it's their problem not yours, as the item is not as described, plus he has malware, so contact paypal, they will help u

As I said, it's like normal fastboot ROM, so flash it under fastboot mode, or use Mi Flash to use it (I reckon that you can flash it under EDL mode too if you want).

Users have troubles with EDL sometimes. But now we know that it is the fastboot ROM package)

phone is un fastboot mode, connetcted to pc, open miflash, select path where all +.bin and +. img are extracted, press flash and 1 second elapse, progress bar is green, flash done
but the same rom installed on phone

I also was wondering everytime i came to this forum, why no developer yet did not showup here. Is asus not devs friendly.. i am planning to buy it but only after i will see some hope of custom rom development.

I am also checking 5z forums daily
Asus have launched kernel sources and it is project treble supported and custom rom development is easy so looking forward for some development to start:crying::crying::crying:

i was planning to buy this phone as i wanted to flash resurrection remix but guess have to wait

The phone released recently, and very late in the year. Most devs are on treble phones, or ones like the OnePlus 6. The phone is probably treble compliant, so in theory owners can use any treble ROM.

Yes I have unlocked bootloader. I used official asus apk
Then downloaded twrp-3.2.1-0-X00Q-20180508.img
Next fastboot flash boot recovery.img and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img - I saw Bootloader Version is empty
Now I dont know how I have older bootloader version WW_user_80.11.37.53 but I do not have twrp.

Here is what i did to root the 5Z ZS620KL:
1. Download the unlock app AND the installed firmware from asus:
download
2. Install adb and fastboot

3. Copy the app to the phone, start it and follow the on screen instructions > bootloader unlocked
Warning: When booting the phone you will now see a warning message!
4. Unzip the downloaded firmware and use a tool to extract the boot.img from the payload.bin. I used payload_dumper.

5. Copy the extracted boot.img from payload_output folder to the 5z.
6. Download magisk manager app from the officiall thread on xda, install it and use it to patch the boot.img on your phone (install>install>patch boot.img)

7. Copy the patched_boot.img back to your computer (the original boot.img will be approx 65mb the patched one approx 19mb)
8. Start your phone in fasboot mode (hold "power + volume up" to switch on your phone). You will see "FastBoot Mode" in red letters on screen. Connect your phone to the computer using the usb cable.
9. Open a command line and check if your phone is recognized by executing:

You should see the serial number of your phone.
10. Change to the path where you copied your patched_boot.img and use fastboot to flash the patched_boot.img to your device:

- I used the latest stable Magisk V16.0 + Manager V5.8 and Magisk hide is not working. It does not save the apps marked for hide. Maybe some write error?

I have purchased zenfone 5Z but it's model number on box is ZS621KL. I see the guide posted for rooting and TWRP install is for ZS620KL. is this same guide applicable to my model as well or this is a different version something like zenfone 5 and Not zenfone 5 Z

Before READ the tutorial step by step and watch the model of the device ............ It's the base for an hacker
You have ZenFone 5 z with stock rom like pixel rom with the snp 845 what do you need ? why you want install TWRP no custom rom at this moment just trebble project but it's not for now the best way

Download WW__ZS620KL_80.10.8.54_MP_user_20180517175955_release.zip
Extract this zip file.
Connect your 5Z with your computer.
Start cmd, and move into path to folder (WW__ZS620KL_80.10.8.54_MP_user_20180517175955_release) .
Type `flashall_AFT.cmd`.

Go to system>about phone> sofware version and check your version. Mine starts with WW_80.11.37.69. You need to download the right firmware version from asus (WW or JP). It should work for ZS621KL.

Talking about the steps what I have done for update my 5z.
Put the zip file that you downloaded on /sdcard/
And reboot.
After these steps, the device will find the update and let you to operate to update.

How can I install twrp and root?

Repairing 'destroyed recovery' on a xiaomi mi a2 lite

Several weeks ago I tried to install TWRP after permitting an OTA update to install V10.0.2.0.PDLMIFJ.
The TWRP installation failed and resulted in the "Destroyed Recovery".
The phone does boot and operate normally, except that it will not boot into recovery, and the OTA update to v10.0.3.0.PDLMIXM fails.
Is there a way to flash the recovery partition for the current version, or update to v10.0.3.0 and repair the partition without deleteing my data?
I tried using the 10.0.2.0 boot.img file from the thread "xda-developers Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion [GUIDE] Install Magisk with proper support for OTA updates by BubuXP" and the commands in the thread "xda-developers Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Development [Official] [Recovery] TWRP for daisy by d1ngh, post #299".
This results in the following:-
a2-lite$ fastboot flash aboot_a boot.img

I read mention of an 'aboot.img' but cannot find one for v10.0.2.0. How are these created or extracted from the released firmware?
Also mentioned is a 'flash.bat' script, but I cannot find the source of that file.
I use kubuntu LTS, but do have access to windows 8.1.

Just download V10.0.3.0 here: https://en.miui.com/download-354.html
Extract it and use the included batch file "flash_all_except_storage.sh" for Linux. This will preserve your data.

I suggest to create your own patched_boot.img with Magisk Manager 7.0 for Magisk 18.1.
Edit: As always, make a backup of your important data before and please don't use TWRP for our device, it's a piece of crap.

The fixed twrp version with SD card support is actually pretty good.

Thanks for the advice. I tried to reflash using the then current installed 10.0.2.0 version but this resulted in a bootloop.
I then tried reflashing with 10.0.3.0 but this did not succeed either. So I used the xiaomi tool from windows to to reflash 10.0.2.0.
That worked with no apparent data loss and the phone has now updated OTA to 10.0.3.0.

Strange that it doesn't worked with 10.0.3.0, but your device works and in the end that's what counts.

restart loop with V10.3.5.0.ODEMIXM after factory reset

I have my MI MIX 2 with official global V10.3.5.0.ODEMIXM. I upgraded to this version via regular OTA update about 2 weeks ago.
After factory recovery I did last day I stuck in restart loop with error.
I picked up language, region, and after that on Just a sec screen I have error Find Device closed unexpectedly and going to restart loop.
Via Mi suite 3 beta I am able to flash same firmware, but this is causing same error and loop. Older firmwares are not possible to flash because of error. (flashing firmware older the nactual firmware on phone)
Via fastboot I am not able to flash anything as phone has locked bootloader and is not assigned to my Mi account so unlock tool is not able to unlock it.
So.. what can I do to fix it ?

hi , if you have access to fastboot look if arb is on , download this => https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24686681827312411 and copy/paste that => fastboot getvar anti ,, if you get 4, arb is on ..... if you have under , you can flash older firmware
So if you have 4 , search '' Anti-rollback Protection and Fastboot Unlocker '' to download antirbpass dummy.img

Bootloader is locked and unlocking via MI Unlock is not succesfull because no Mi account is bound to the device.
Flashing via Mi Suite 3 always ends like this:

But it always restarts and goes to boot loop.

could anybody extract boot and vendor from eu 4.12 image. i could extract payload.bin on my Smartphone , but the extraction of the images did not work. my pc is at the Moment ill :-(

here are
boot.img + vbmeta.img from eu 4.12.
i patched with magisk canary 25.2.
Afterwards i flashed boot with the patched_boot_image.
root is not working.
flashed boot_a + boot_b with patched image - also not working.
i used newest adb on win11.
vbmeta flash + disable dmverity also not working.
any ideas?

Same here with 3.12 global/us.
Patched boot.img, tried flashing both a and b, magisk does not show root.

What happens if you patch init_boot.img (if there is one)?

Have not tried. The stock boot.img is 98MB, the init_boot.img is 8MB. quite a big difference.

Another interesting fact, there is nothing in the boot_b. Tried booting to it, and the phone went blank. Had to hard shut off, boot into bootloader, then switch back to boot_a, then it booted no problem.
If i had to guess, magisk isn't working with android 13 on the magic 8 pro. I even tried the canary version, no luck.

what is different with this phone?
i rooted all my phones in the last years without problems.
crawling the internet for a solution...

but....it wiped my phone. really really really not happy about that!!!
Acted like i just unlocked the bootloader!!!
Edit: tried to install magisk after flashing init_boot.img, only installs v1.0 of magisk, 101kb in size, doesn't open, root checker shows no root
lost all applications, all saved keys with authenticators. everything.
do not unlock critical

Bypass charging/charge separation does not work on EU rom v4.12

Maybe they withdrew it. I'm showing nothing available
