[ Solved ] Lack of security updates! - Moto G 5G Plus Questions & Answers

So, its about one year since moto G plus 5G received February 2021 Security Patch.
This phone was released in July 2020.
For sure this will be my last Moto [email protected]#!€g Lenovo phone.
Btw, 5G is not working with Vodafone PT with Android 11. WTF?
Will anyone buy a new motorola phone?

Curious - mine had an update the other day.

Lucky you.
Which country?

Same situation, same country (Portugal)

Hi @masfreitas. Portugal too here, VDF operator, unlocked phone bought at Fnac.
I Have reported at Lenovo forums. Still waiting for feed-back

@hteles same operator, but i bought mine from Amazon ES.
Great, they seem to keep answering to you. i will try that solution "Rescue and Smart Assistant tool" tomorrow (if i don't forget it xD), then i can tell you the result.

Hi! @masfreitas
Thank you. I have little faith on that. i think that the problem lies on the lack of updates by Motorola and not any FOTA problem with our phones.
Please keep me posted. If it is the solution, i will update mine in the next weekend.
They are still struggling with android 11

Hi @hteles. It worked! You just have to do the rescue with that tool.
Thanks by sharing the post!

Hi @masfreitas.
Thank you very much. Will have to wait for the weekend. This is both my work and personal phone with dual sim.
Regards and have a nice Year

All is well. Had the time to do so.
Let's just hope the new updates will come by OTA now!
Nice weekend. Stay safe.

Yes, that was my though, if OTA updates will come naturaly now, or if we must do rescue every time. Lets hope not. Eventually i may install a custom ROM, after the 2 years of warranty be done, as i did with my old moto g5.

Indeed. Pixel experience will be my goto ROM after updates stop coming.
All my other phones are running Lineage. Lets wait for march or April update by OTA.....

Hi @masfreitas.
Found this https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/nairo/official/RETEU/
We can check there for new updates or lack of them

[Q] Update or not?

Dear all,
Just bought an UK version of Lg G3. It is installed the 5.0 of Android and everything is good.
However, the smartphone always asks to update to the last version, of 19th May.
What do you suggest to do? I have read about many problems related to updating. Should I keep the phone as it is or update?
Thanks in advance

Z5P Dual (E6883) 1299-6237 Update to 7.0

Hello,
Been waiting for update to Android 7.0 since the news been spread on XperiaBlog and XDA, but still no official release for 1299-6237 (HK Version). Hence, a question arise: Are there additional certifications that apply to HK ROM version that it takes so long for an update, or is there is another reason for it? Also, any idea when to expect the update then? Thanks for help in advance!

you can take the Indonesia or India version... since HK , the last update was .305 / oct2016 ... i am not sure why the stopped pushing for HK
Thanks for reply! I know I can manually flash it, but to be honest, with device like this I cannot be bothered (and frankly not many people do, as pretty much no development going on). I am more reliant on OTA or Companion updates as I do not want to lose my data. Hence it owuld be nice to know if someone would have an explanation for such nonsence really.
I was in the same boat as you. I bought my Z5p dual off of Amazon and received an HK version. I've been waiting for a Nougat update and could wait no longer. I updated using the russian update file and can confim that everything works and no bugs to report. Also no data was lost and my phone language remained in English post update. Should you change your mind...
But to contribute to your question, according to the Experia blog there appears to be a relatively big update coming in April to fix a couple of the Nougat issues with sound some users were reporting. That could be why they halted rollouts again.

Did anyone receive Android Oreo yet

I know what Motorola promised, but did anyone receive Oreo as of yet, because if I'm not mistaken Oreo will arrive this month

Please don't ask about updates - there's so many threads about them already you could use
Check the Motorola website & forum - if they haven't announced it officially the answer is no
G5 plus is currently receiving Nov. security patch, so I bet that's what we'll get soon before Oreo as well.
Sorry if what I asked is a frquently asked question , and thanks for clarifying

Hi guys,
Not sure what's going on but I'm not getting any updates whatsoever. I tried checking manually but to no avail. I also tried downloading the Huawei HiSuite App, there are software updates under my model number but it's saying it's not approved. WTH's going on? Does anyone have info on this?
Thanks,

Its random it seems. I just got it yesterday. Someone else on this forum said they got it last week but their wife didnt get it until this week even though they bought their phones at the same time and live in the same location. So there is no pattern it seems when it comes to the rollout.

I did a little research and B101 builds are not getting anything at all. Our security patch is still Oct 2017. And other builds, though not getting updates at the same time, still managed to get something. I don't wanna root and go to that route but after Q1 and still no updates, I'll probably do it.
B102 same situation.. I think moderators should get all this topics in the same.. because they are everywhere in the forum
I have L24 US version of Honor 7X. It was stuck at firmware B101. Always said "No update". Customer support could not help. I had a ATT Mexico SIM in it. As soon as I changed the SIM to T-Mobile US, it found updates B130 and B140. So update depends on SIM.
I also bought another Honor 7X that had already B130 and put in Movistar Mexico SIM and it found right away update B140. So it may be that only B101 needs a US Sim to update.
I hope this helps other people who are still stuck at original firmware B101.
Same here....
Just Nitty grittyy...
bought my device from Alie Express, In the back of the phone it is written BND-AL10
But in the settings it says BND-L21
I updated to BND-L21xxxxB102XXX
but no updates after that...
in hisuite & firmware finder both app, there are updates for the device but it says not authorized for installation.
Any Idea?
Hi,
I have the same problem. My Phonemodel is BND-21. Also on the back. I bought my device from Amazon.de. The huawei- support says, that the phone is from Spain. I'm in Austria. Next week I will talk to the support again and ask why I don't get updates.
If I have some time I'll make a factory reset and check for updates.

I'm getting fed up.

Phone does not receive updates (Global Version)

Hi guys, I have the Mi A2 Lite from the end of December last year and the phone is blocked at the update of December 5, 2018, I contacted Xiaomi assistance 3 times from February to today because their answers were always "we withdrew the update for problems "or similar, in the end I discovered through IMEI1 and IMEI2 that my phone was initially intended for the papua new guinea, and according to Xiaomi I can't update the phone in any way. At this point the question is obvious to me "so if one makes a trip abroad and buys a Xiaomi when he returns home he remains screwed ?!"
Do you know how I can update my phone? I tried expressvpn but it didn't work.
Thank you in advance for your help guys, I hope that anyone of you have the solution. I bought this phone for my father too, it's his first smartphone and I wouldn't want to feel guilty about making a wrong purchase.

Hello DominikMorelli,
Good Day !
1st You Need To Unlock The Boot-Loader (Off-Course Unlocking Boot-Loader Will Void Warranty) Then Download Latest Stock From MIUI Forum And Flash It With The Help Of IMFlash Tool.
Greetings !
Thanks,
MUHAMMAD Asif Qasim
Stock ROM for Mi A2 Lite: https://en.miui.com/download-354.html
MiFlash: https://en.miui.com/thread-345974-1-1.html
AFAIK unlocking the bootloader doesn't void warranty on AndroidOne devices, of course after you relock the bootloader. Because there is no way of knowing that it has been unlocked/flashed etc.

Yes You Are Absolutely Right. Bootloader Should Be Locked After Flashing The ROM Or In Flashing Time.
thank you guys
One last question, with this operation I will lose the data on the phone? if so I make a backup.

Yes DominikMorelli, You Will Lose The Data As Unlocking Bootloader Does Erase The Data.
