Question Is there a way to adjust the screen sensitivity (Pixel 6 Pro)? - Google Pixel 6 Pro

The screen on my Pixel 6 Pro is so slippery. More than half the time when I need to do a long press, it interprets it as me initiating a drag/swipe. Is there a way I can turn down the sensitivity? (Settings > Display > Increased touch sensitivity, is off.) {Mod edit: Hidden spam link removed. Oswald Boelcke}

Since you probably run Stock, the only option that comes to mind would probably be
-> Settings
-> System
-> Languages & Input
-> Pointer speed
Change that to your liking, and see if it improves your experience.

@Nergal di Cuthah has posted the answer below. awesome job, always forget about that setting!

Same here, had this issue since day 1. Let me describe it.
Reading a news article and I start to scroll. Many times it will interpret that as a long press and then as I scroll it starts selecting text like I wanted to cop it.
Most annoying.

So far this seems to be helping a great deal. Thank you very much!

So I'm on March's release now and have reset this setting to short as a test, so far it's acting much better, not highlight text as i scroll and long presses don't seem to drag. Will write back if while i test it it goes back to bad

Nope scratch that it's just not as bad it still does it back to medium

Thanks thanks thanks! You are my savior, this application is crucial for me!
Helped set the "Menu - Edit - Preferences - Editing - Reduce stylus jitter" at 20 (it started around 15 to be quite good).

Interesting "Three Dots" Alternative That Never Made It

I happened to see a vid posted online comparing a prototype AT&T XL to the One X. It's got a different approach to the settings dots than what ended up implemented. It's an overlay that doesn't reduce the available size of the screen. I get that you hit the down arrow to hide it. But how would get get it to redisplay? I guess we'll never know.

There's also a really stupid feature on the One X. You can set the off button to hang up on calls (I liked it on the SGS2). When you're on the phone the screen blanks to save battery. So with a blank screen and no physical or active buttons, the only button that functions is the on/off switch. In other words, once the screen goes blank it has to stay that way until you hang up the call. Interesting feature.

The phone uses the proximity sensor, when you place it close to your ear the screen blanks, when you take it away the screen turns on again. You don't need the power button.
That arrow to pulls 3 dots bar down comes on 1.19 software. I had it before but I updated to 1.26 and it was gone

Not on BT. That's the way I was using it when I found the problem. Good point though.

After you arrowed it down, how were you able to get it to redisplay?

Multitouch problem.

I seem to be having a problem with my multitouch. Like when playing SAS 3, two finger controls seems to go haywire like it would sort of let go halfway. Any solutions/fix?

could be a faulty HOX..
Go to System Settings, scroll to bottom, tap on Developer Options, select the option "Pointer Location" and nothing else!!
now go home.. and touch the screen as you normally would with your 2 fingers and just drag down.. you'll see some crosses and lines.. if those lines have no brakes in them and they stay on screen until you touch somewhere else, then you should be fine, probably just the app that's bugged..
PS: disable the Pointer Location after you test..
report back

[Q] Note 10.1 2014 edition keys do not answer

Hi. My new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition has a major problem: the Home button and back and menu buttons stop working from time to time. Same thing with the on off button that refuses to turn the tablet off. Happens randomly, whenever the pen is in or out. To turn off, I have to plug the tablet on charger, then hold the on-off button for many seconds. Rather annoying. Had the same problem with my other 10.1 2014.... that I scraped trying to change the battery. Any help will be welcome.

Hi,
Mine has the same issue. Reckon it is a factory defect.
However, I'm using Settings -> Device -> Accessibility -> Assistant menu.
With this function, found no problem to navigate around.
Or,
You can use "Pie Control (Pro)" app or "OmniSwitch" app
in order to use the softkey buttons.
Hope this is helpful for you.

YES! Thank you, it works. When I think that when the first 2014 edition had that problem, I was convinced it was a battery defect and I ordered one new. I opened the case following the instructions, but I was unlucky and I broke the connector behind the Home button. Then, trying to unbend (?) the bottom section, il really broke. I now have two spare batteries... Next time, I'll ask the specialists.

Question Screen touch sensitivity is kind of insane

My 6Pro is, just like the title suggests, super sensitive for very certain things. Because of a bit of a hand disability I have gestures turned off and I rely on the Back, Home, and App Overview buttons. But the Back button is crazy. When I tap it, about half the time it will double or triple tap. The App Overview button is super weird too, but I suspect that it is it's own thread in Android 12 forum.
I've gone through to make sure that in the Display settings, the "Increase touch sensitivity" is disabled. I don't know of any other option that could affect this. I'm going to try to reach out to Google for help, god help me. But maybe someone has some ideas or maybe is already aware of if this is a hardware bug?

Yeah, I have the same random issue....
Simple/single/small touches of the back button, become double/multiple registered touches for some reason?
IT IS a very frustrating bug at times
Under accessibility setting touch and hold to medium solved my sensitivity problem (sounds like i was Emo LOL)

I've reverted my setting to short now that I'm on the March update and it seems this is much better. I'll post further if my testing shows that medium is still the optimal setting, but short seems fine right now
Nope scratch that it's just not as bad it still does it back to medium
