Maybe the partition is not named that by default? I did not find a recovery.bin file on any firmware backup for this phone.
You should be able to get to the recovery following this video:

RE-Lock your bootloader.
Easiest.
Just enter fastboot on your phone then use command prompt and write:
cd..
cd..
cd \fastboot
Then connect phone to cable then type:
'fastboot oem lock'
Edit: Phone must be in fastboot mode before connecting.
And then you will be able to update easily.
Pl guide us in step by step. Pl.

ya followed this guide when rooting and installing clockwork recovery...not installed any custom rom yet..just rooted in phone after unlock.
now not able to do ota which has just arrived in india
Help anyone. have relocked thephone now what. tried to do a factory reset from bootloader menu nothing happens .how do I get the phone back in condition newly bght. even clockwork recovery seems to have gone..this is so disappointing
You didn't need to lock the boot loader. Unlock it using the method you used when you unlocked your phone.
All you need to install the ota depends on what state your device is in before you start.
Are you on the stock from or a custom from?
If stock with unlocked boot loader and clockwork mod recovery then all you needed to do was flash the stock recovery reboot and do the ota.
If you were in a custom rom you will have needed to get back to stock from the nandroid backup you took, flashed stock recovery, and stock boot.img. Then reboot to stock and do OTA.

Lost my Recovery? Desire 820

Hey guys, i bought a HTC Desire 820 recently and i immediatly unlocked the bootloader and tried to flash a custom recovery (twrp) follwing the how-to's on Xda. I just wanted to root my device but now i have got quite a big problem: Wheter i can boot into recovery mode nor i can execute a factory reset.
Whenever i tried to access recovery mode i got kicked back to fastboot mode immediatly while it said at the top 'recovery is loadig'.
After many tries to solve the problem i tried to relock the bootloader.
Afterwards i wanted to try the whole process from the beginning but i can not even unlock the bootloader anymore because the system is not able to perform a factory reset.
The phone still boots properly and runs smooth but i would like to update my firmware via ota what is not possible because of the, as i assume, missing recovery.
I really hope that somebody can help me. Thank you in advice.
Regards, bizzla
I solved the problem. Topic can be closed now.

whoa whoa, before that could you please tell us what you did to fix it?
Tnx man
Yes, sure.
I downloaded the newest ota-update via system settings and copied it to my conputer (the update file can be found in download folder on you internal storage).
Then i extracted the recovery.img from the .zip using a zip archiever program.
My last step was to flash the extracted recovery.img via windroid tool 2.4.
That is it already.
If there is no available ota-update then check htcdev website. You can download former updates and just extract the image.

Yeah bro, I relocked the bootloader and can't perform Factory Reset now. So is there any other way of fixing this since the stock rom of 820q isn't available on htc dev center.

Help! Restore to stock, lots of issues

I have a Htc One M8 ; s-off, hboot 3.16, running 4.4.2. CID is Roger001, unlocked boot
Problem I have is I'm trying to restore the phone to stock because I want to do OTA updates. I followed the guide to return Canadian HTC1m8 to stock - downloaded the nandroid backup, restored it, flashed a stock image through fastboot;
However, now if I try a OTA it just reboots my phone and normally stalls out on the HTC screen. Nothing gets updated . If i try a factory reset, same thing, and it won't boot into bootloader until I wait a while then restart it. My data won't work anymore and TWRP recovery has disappeared. I think my issue is i flashed the wrong recovery .img, I'm a fairly noob. Checked all the related links and can't figure it out.
Any help would be amazing.

I got an update to work, I think I had the wrong stock installed so it wouldn't work properly. Only thing now is my data isn't working, any assistance with that that could be??
Instead of trouble shooting, I would just flash this TWRP backup tested to work on Rogers M8:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58611288
See end of 1st post in above link.
It is already in lollipop. No OTA update needed.
Use latest TWRP recovery, see 2nd post in above link.

fastboot boot recovery.img

just wandering if I can fastboot boot recovery.img even Im lock bootloader? if not can I backup on recovery just by booting it? together with the stock recovery since it has a choice also to back up recovery?
thanks for those who will help
btw im still lolipop and not planning to upgrade on android M maybe on the future so I need the stock backup
anyone can help?
No .. you can't fastboot boot recovery.img with a locked bootloader.
I never do backup by booting the recovery so I can't answer that .. and I don't think TWRP has a selection to backup stock recovery .. maybe other recovery can but I never try.
What's your software version no. ? Maybe I have the stock non-rooted backup and stock recovery.img in my thread linked in my signature .. that will save you all the hassle of doing what you are trying to do.

Help or Info Required with S-OFF and boot loader Locked

Hi Guys,
Yesterday friend gave me his m8 with S-OFF but boot-loader locked. Want to flash TWRP but the commands failed. I heard that twrp can't be flashed with locked boot loader. So can I unlock it again using htc dev or it will cause problem? Or any other idea.
Phone is not running any OS stuck in boot loop.
'Thanks.
EDIT: OK SOLVED. Re-unlocked with htc dev and everything is fine. Twrp installed.

AFAIK you should be able to flash twrp with s-off&locked bootloader-only fails for s-on&locked bootloader
however you can just download a proper firmware package ( unsigned ) for your device variant
remove all the content except android-info.txt
then rename the twrp.img to recovery and zip both android-info and the recovery.img
rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip and flash it in hboot
( put the zip in sd card formatted as fat32 then reboot to bootloader-hboot then it will ask you to update confirm it and you are done )
lock&unlock bootloader method but required root
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708571
also htc dev method should work fine but no need to unlock it imo

I see you've solved your issue. FYI, it's correct you cannot flash custom recovery (unsigned recovery image) with locked bootloader; and s-off does not bypass that restriction.
