So far only tested with android 11 firmware. You don't need to downgrade if it's working without issues.

Does ok google work?

What lineage features were not implemented ?

If someone flash this, please post some screenshots, and some thoughts on how the ROM behaves.

Expandable volume panel, buttons, statusbar features,etc.. need to be ported from 18.1.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Android 12L is a Rom that is specifically created with Android Tablet Devices in mind like enlarged UI. & better multi tasking support to utilize larger screen real estate.
Are their any notable advantage in Android 12L over regular Android 12 from Alioth point of view (Excluding the advantage of on being latest available OS).

Could any contribution be made by someone who just develops a bit if yes, maybe I could help in porting those feature, I don't have any experience in working on Android tho, I can install Android Studio and Gradle for building if that's what used. If there is anywhere where there is a contribution guide, I'll be glad to give my best at it, thanks !

Could you please share some screenshots of features and specifications if anyone has installed the rom. Lineage Android 12L would be a great rom.

I have tried to build the ROM for Android12 (Lineage OS 19.1) using the code source from Gerrit and the builds fails with an error (at the step 'brunch alioth'), I have asked for help on #lineageos Libera.Chat IRC server and has received those answers "build for Android 11, if you don't know what you're doing", "we know how to solve the issue, it's easy but we won't tell you" and so on. Quite the nice community there btw, feels very welcoming.
So I can't really progress much yet, if you have any resources that could help me get started, feel free to DM me.
I've attached a screenshot of the issue, but since Lineage OS 19.1 is unofficial at the moment, I don't think LineageOS community plans on helping much for now at least.

LineageOS developers are one of the most egoistic and toxic ones. They see everyone as newbie other than themselves. If you build Lineage, you are on your own and don't expect help from them. As I can see, the 19.1 branches aren't updated to reflect latest changes and you are building with 18.1, which you shouldn't.

But where did you see I was building with the 18.1 branch, I see LINEAGE_VERSION=19.1-20220324-UNOFFICIAL-alioth which is thus the 19.1 I did follow the tutorial from LineageOS to build the 18.1 version which I probably shouldn't have.
As for LineageOS it's like a new kind of Elite closed open source thing, never saw that before.
Any recommendation, on getting started on my own, any reading, or should I just start reading commits logs and diff from LOS 18.1/19.1 of others devices that are supported ?

GPL compliance:
Device tree source code: LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_gemini
Kernel source code: LineageOS/android_kernel_xiaomi_msm8996
Broken:
Nothing.
Working:
Everything except 'broken' stuff
(see also second post for info on recurring questions)
Compatibility:
Compatible with all Xiaomi Mi 5 variants (32GB / 64GB / 128GB). Xiaomi Mi 5S and 5S Plus are not supported.
Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 7.0 firmware with proprietary blobs from MIUI 8.1.4 dev package.
Downloads:
Official download links
Notice:
No custom kernels are supported in this thread. Only stock kernel and official builds will be supported. No bug reports if that's not the case.
Installation:
Reboot to recovery (TWRP recovery for Mi 5 - Direct link)
Format /system, /data and /cache
Install LineageOS zip package
Install [optional] the LineageOS su addon to get root (there are obviously other root methods, but this is the recommended one as it survives to OTA updates)
Install [optional] a Google Apps package of your choice (Open GApps is advisable, but stock and super variants are not recommended!!!)
Important notes:
Current minimal * required * firmware version is MIUI 8.1.4 Global dev, otherwise installation will fail. Download the latest dev fastboot package directly from Xiaomi and flash it prior to installing LineageOS or, alternatively, download and install one of the latest custom packages containing firmware only (at your own risk).
GApps can only be flashed on clean installs.
Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.
Credits & collaborations:
This work is due to efforts from Mi5Devs founding members (@h2o64 and me) that did the full device bring-up. Huge thanks to @deovferreira for all the help during the kernel bring-up after source code dropped. Also thanks to @ValoXis for giving me the motivation I needed and to @shade.sh for compiling unofficial builds during the transition phase.
Finally, all LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

Some notes due to recurring questions:
Camera OIS can be recalibrated, if needed, with the following app: https://github.com/dobragab/Mi5CameraCalibrate.
Devices assembled with LGD panels may have less responsive hardware keys (recents and back) due to old touchscreen drivers released by Xiaomi. The workaround at the moment is to enable on-screen buttons and wait for more updated drivers in the next kernel source code release.
QC3.0 is not fully working and will be fixed when the next kernel source code drops.
So soon we have got cm13 official and cm14 almost stable...
thanks bgcngm and Mi5Devs team...
There we go. Too late? Could be, but we got there, in the best way we could. Mi5Devs always leading.
nice to see cm 14 for mi5 well be getting my phone soon ....thanks for ur hard work
One important note again: this is the one and only official support thread for CM-14.1 development.
Nice . At last mi5 got CM14.1 .
Btw how about CM13 ?
Is it still got updated when this CM14.1 become Official ?
Once Mi 5 moves to CM-14.1 official nightlies, CM-13.0 nigthlies will stop. That's what happens with all CM official devices.
Downloading and creating backups. As soon as i flash it, ill edit. Thanks for your work.
First of all a huge thanks to @bgcngm and mi5 devs for bringing cm-14.1 to mi5 and secondly about the camera broken stuff, are we using hal1 or hal3 camera, because when i checked the git for oneplus 3 they too had problems with hal3, hence they shifted back to hal1.

Camera is working apparently, but with 3rd party apps. It's just Snap that is force closing, but should be fixed in CM sources soon enough.
Just a warning, only video recording is not working.

======================================
F.A.Q :
======================================
Q) Does this ROM support substratum?
A) Yes! The latest LOMS ( LOS with OMS) is fully compatible with substratum and OMS commits have been integrated into the ROM. Since substratum uses OMS, all the themes that need OMS will work on the LOMS build.
Q) Do older builds (non-LOMS) support substratum?
A) Yes. And no too. Some of the themes that need OMS commits won't work. However, the themes which have no OMS commit requirements, will work nicely in Legacy mode. Legacy mode gives you the ability to use some substratum themes, but you will need to reboot after applying any/each overlay to see effect. Hey! It's still better than no theme right?
Q) The ROM is stable enough. Why isn't it official?
A) Many reasons to answer this one lol.
1) @Rohan Taneja (OP) isn't very active with development now. He's busy with higher studies.
2) Compiling ROMs is a very tedious task. Not making it official gives us the freedom to make the builds whenever we want. In official, you have to maintain the builds and make one for the device whenever a new major/monthly update is introduced.
3) Our device. It is a MTK phone. MTK device is happily accepted as official device by almost no rom community.
4) Our choice. Deal with it.
(Please note it isn't just as easy as typing the word "official" in the thread title and build prop to make it official. Noobs please don't spam thread about this topic)
Q) (You think something else can be added here?)
A) (PM me ASAP to tell your suggestion. I'm open to PM's. And please don't send stupid PM's asking to accept friend requests and s-h-i-t like that)
(FAQ section is under construction. Check later for more)

Yes it's another workaround for gapps, but it is just dirty hack for such an issue.
Declaring device architect as arm64 crashing the ROM is really weird part of the problem. It's only happening to LineageOS and based ROMs like ResurrectionRemix for our device.
Need to debug the build thoroughly for now.

I'm not a noob, i know that code *#*#3646633#*#*, try to insert them in [ROM] [7.1.2_r8] [OFFICIAL] [aio_row] AospExtended ROM V4.2 [OMS/DUI], and see "This rom seems to be dont have engineer mode".
That's why i'm writing that ****.
If you dont use engineer mode - i'm using it, rom which without that - not usable for me because i can't insert my volume and mic values. that because i'm asking about it.

Compatible with all Xiaomi Mi 5 variants (32GB / 64GB / 128GB). Xiaomi Mi 5S and 5S Plus are not supported.
Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 8.0 firmware with proprietary blobs from MIUI 8.5.10 dev package.
Current minimal * required * firmware version is MIUI 8.5.10 Global dev, otherwise installation will fail. Download the latest dev fastboot package directly from Xiaomi and flash it prior to installing LineageOS or, alternatively, download and install one of the latest custom packages containing firmware only - direct link (at your own risk).
Last but not least, pleasure having @luca020400 and @LuK1337 onboard since the bring-up of the whole Xiaomi 8996 family, that lately did the major work in the O era.
Finally, all LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

Keep in mind that for now this is just an alpha, take it like an early preview. Quite a lot hasn't yet been ported to Lineage, so please don't report issues like: "broken buttons backlight".

so finally here
Amazing, Thank You for your effort
guys remember gapps 8.0 isn't proper once you install los and then install gapps and once the installer says installation complete do a force reboot
Finally Lineage OS 15 for Mi5 is up. I've been waiting for this eagerly since August. Thanks a lot devs. Great Effort. And please guys support our devs to give their best effort for our device. Hurray

That's how it always has been, once a device starts with official builds in a new branch, builds stop on the old one.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the LineageOS Changelog for a full list of changes & features. For a changelog of changes to my builds, they can be found at this post below.

This is now a "joan" build! This means this is universal and should boot on all LG v30 devices that a custom recovery can be installed to. This includes the illusive h932 model!
The name of "joan" comes from the code name used by LG in a lot of their source code for this device.
BIG SHOUTOUT TO TO SGCMarkus! A lot of this would not be possible without the work he continues to do on these devices.
What's working:
RIL (Calls, SMS, Data)
Fingerprint
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Camera
Video Recording
Video Playback
Audio
Sensors
Flash
GPS
DAC
Vibration
Selinux permissive (Selinux has issues.. See FAQ)
What's not working:
VOLTE does not work on either ROM
VOWIFI does not work on either ROM
Wifi display on Lineage 17.1
Tell me
Where are the features?
LineageOS is in development process so don't complain about xyz features missing.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
Builds are done nightly if possible. The changelogs below get updated when there is a major change by me that fixes an issue with LG v30s.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Can this ROM be flashed through TWRP?
A. Yes, proceed with the latest TWRP image
Q. Sounds good. How can I contribute to project?
A. Test the build as much as you can and report bugs which can be reproduced with exact steps and are not random.
Q. How to disable "Apps running in background" dialog?
A. When you see the dialog, long press on it and select "Settings". From there, you'll have a toggle to disable it.
Q. Which Models are supported?
A. So far it works well on the H930(G/D/DS), US998, VS996 and LS998. H932 works too, use the .zip for that model. Other devices may bootloop.
Q. Help, my H931/H933 is bootlooping!
A1. For H931 please go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/running-h930-aosp-rom-us998-converted-t3889320
A2. For H933 please go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78183349&postcount=2
Q. What is up with SELinux?
A. There are a lot of SELinux permissions that have not been properly added. If you experience any issues try setting the kernel to permissive mode first. If you continue to experience issues after that. Then take logs and let me know. To set permissive mode flash this zip in TWRP or other custom recovery: https://zackptg5.com/downloads/Kernel-Sepolicy-Patcher.zip Make sure to select permissive with volume buttons. This should be flashed after every new ROM release unless otherwise stated.
Q. Any other resources I should be aware of?
A. Check out this mega thread on troubleshooting LG v30 issues by @tech_infinity https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/detailed-guide-aosp-roms-issues-solution-t4002535

Hey,
thx for your time in developing and building this ROM for our beloved LG V30!
Anyway: Why do you build again a new LOS "16.0" and not work together with @SGCMarkus on "17.1" Release?
Just a thought...

Because @SGCMarkus has moved on to 17.1, so he can work on this 16 and fix stuff. Then, move on to 17.1.
He's still figuring it all out. Something to practice on?
I'm not speaking for the Dev. He can answer himself, but that seems the simplest explanation.

I was talking with @SGCMarkus and he mentioned wanting to focus all his efforts at getting 17 working. But 16 will still be supported for sometime and doesn't have as many changes in store to work around. It's much easier to iron out and get fully working with little to no bugs. But we are sort of working towards the same goals. If there is anything I happen to find about getting things working I'll let him know, I hope he does the same.
Thanks for doing this. I'm not ready to move on to 17.0 because of the issues and have been a little bummed that the other 16.0 ROM hasn't been updated since I first installed it (I got the phone in August). I've missed the fun of updating the ROM regularly that's part of the reason why I picked this model. Even if I don't notice any differences, it makes me happier knowing that I have a more recent LOS build.
Thank you for the updated builds ?
Is there any chance of Pie blobs builds happening?

gf's H930DS was unfortunately updated to stock pie at some point, so it's either Stock or Alpha LOS17. Would this work, it would be perfect.

Markus made a los17.1 build but that had camera issues so didn't release it.
Don't worry Markus is still maintaining LOS for v30
For los17 is not just change in android version but for v30 we've switched from oreo blobs to pie blobs. That's why there are some issues and are taking time to resolve.

Yes. I own OnePlus Nord (avicii) and I tested it. So trust me.
This recovery (OrangeFox-R11.1_4-Unofficial-avicii.zip) recognizes that I have LineageOS 20 installed and that the data partition is encrypted, but unfortunately does not offer me the decryption dialog.
When I try to decrypt the data partition from the menu, I get a password dialog but no swipe pattern.

I've been using LineageOS / CyanogenMod since the early days of Android, so switching is hard.
But thanks for the tip, I'll take a look and maybe even consider switching.
But I'm also thinking of buying either the Nord 3 or the 11 or 11T this year and thus the "maintainer issue" would be solved .

LineageOS is open source software.
Everybody is able to contribute by submitting patches / commits via our official gerrit server at https://review.lineageos.org
So instead of complaining you could just submit the required code for supporting this custom recovery.
This is just not a priority topic for me as I only focus on official LineageOS features / tools like LineageOS recovery. This is why I did not do it myself.
Also:
I provided a lot of code to the OnePlus Nord custom ROM scene on which your work / ROMs @Sreeshankar K are heavily based on.
I consider it rude to say something like "maintainer issue".
This goes especially in your direction @Doc Sniper.

It's always funny how people think that only because you volunteered to make LOS official for our Nord, you automatically take on the support and do everything for free and now
A little Google and due diligence and there would be less "misunderstandings" and misjudgements from people

"What goes around comes around."
Well, you could have said to @Sreeshankar K last time exactly what you were writing right before. Namely that a working OF-Recovery with LOS is low priority for you and he could contribute code to speed that thing up - done.
Then he would have been informed nicely and would have passed on this surely just as positively also in relation to your person. So I guess @Sreeshankar K took your last answer as "I don't give a damn".
Just like this sentence: "... Also: I provided a lot of code to the OnePlus Nord custom ROM scene on which your work / ROMs @Sreeshankar K are heavily based on. ...". My only thoughts on this are, how can one be so condescending.
When you're that snooty, don't be surprised if you're not respected. Even if you have done a lot as a diligent maintainer, you should always be as respectful to others, as you would like to be respected yourself.
Remember, "it's not what you say, but how you say it" and always consider, others may have far more education, knowledge and experience than you. Live humbly.
Well, anyway, if you felt offended from "m.i.", then I'm sorry.

I don't think my post sounded condescending, it was not meant that way.
I only mentioned my contributions towards Nord custom ROM community to make you think about calling my work a maintainer issue.
To be honest I feel disrespected after spending so many hours developing for this community and getting called something like that.
Anyways I accept your apology.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to criticize your work and your achievements at all and also I don't want to demand anything regarding the ROM. My criticism has only ever been about the fact that I, as well as a few other people, have perceived some statements in the past as condescending. Since you certainly didn't mean it that way, maybe just work on "how you say it".
You donate your free time, so I would like to say quite clearly that I certainly appreciate your work and your effort with the Nord 1 LOS very well.
Thank you.
Never made any contributions to either OrangeFox or LOS but I have some programming experience. Is this somewhat easily fixable, what goes into something like this? Would love to contribute something myself but don't know where to start.
