Question Android 11 Device Factory Image - Moto G30

Has anyone got a factory image of the moto g30? To flash and get rid of stupid android 12! Doesn't matter particularly if its not android 11, I'll be able to upgrade. I take it flashing an old image mean's it'll include moto's software and stuff. Would rather not have a rooted device as I don't want to miss out on features.

You people and your unwillingness to get used to change. lol
But anyway, you can go back to A11 granted you unlock your bootloader and flash the firmware while you make sure it matches your software channel.
The firmware can be found on lolinet.
lolinet mirrors - firmware, software, iso etc.
lolinet mirrors - powered by h5ai
mirrors.lolinet.com

Thanks for your quick reply, honestly wouldn't have though it would be such a big deal but its stressing me tf out! How would one know which software channel one is?

Actually dont worry about that, worked it out

I saw on another thread that some people were struggling to unlock the bootloader... do you know how to circumvent that?

I had no issues when just following unlock instructions, and anyway, with a locked bootloader you CAN'T mess anything up (though you can delete all user data, which you'd do when manually flashing an image anyway)

Ah I hope I don't run into any problems! Have you got a link to your instructions? Otherwise I'll use
but with the g30 image ive downloaded

So my platform tools doesn't include a "flash-all.sh" and the "fastboot flashing unlock" command seems to do nothing except wait for the device. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Real OFFICIAL STOCK ROM for XT1625/XT1642 (Moto G4/G4 Plus)

Hi,
Everybody is looking for official stock roms for Moto G4/G4 Plus *AWAY* from Motorola support, which looked to me like kind of weird but I now know why: people are looking for stock roms that will allow them over the air upgrades. If you have a developer edition or a moto with unlocked bootloader, Moto's own roms are flashable and *COMPLETELY WORKING*
motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
Go to above URL, quick login using G+, follow instructions to get to the download list. The listed download for XT1625 will also work just fine for XT1642.
Or, you can just use this direct link: motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/cc/ajaxCustom/getBootFile/fileName/ib65qpz53y
may also require login.
******** VERY IMPORTANT ************
Everybody lists fastboot utility commands with which you restore a Moto stock rom. They do not tell these severe warnings:
- Never flash a gpt.bin file unless you really absolutely ultimately intentionally and knowingly NEED TO. Why? in 99.9% of the cases it is useless to your phone and your needs and all it will do is deprive you the ability to downgrade to an earlier version or flash an older boot file, system file, ...etc. You get the picture. BTW, gpt.bin is only a partition image containing Moto's partition table scheme, with versioning for downgrade prevention. Keep away from it. It is pure EVIL.
IF YOU SEE gpt.bin FILE, DELETE IT WITHOUT HESITATION.
- Our second vanity: bootloader.img or bootloader.bin or anything that spells BOOTLOADER. EVIL. DELETE IT. It will 99.9% only mess up your cellular capability and render your phone without voice calls, with out SMS and without 2G/3G/4G; no data whatsoever. It will convert your phone into a 5.5 inch SIM-less tablet. It will KILL YOUR SIM SLOTS.
Instruction are on the first link, but anyway, here we go:
To flash, put the phone in fastboot mode:
1. Power OFF your device
2. Then Power ON + Volume Down Alternatively, you can reboot into fastboot mode if you have adb...
adb reboot bootloader.
Next flash the images using fastboot:
Code:
"DELETED COMMAND HERE WAS SUPPOSED TO FLASH THE GPT.BIN. NEVER DO IT"
"DELETED COMMAND HERE WAS SUPPOSED TO FLASH THE BOOTLOADER. NEVER DO IT"
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
enjoy

if you have not unlocked boot-loader you are covered by warranty and I advise you keep it that way. Motorola is a BI***.
if you really can't live without older stock, go to moto service and ask them to do it for you. should not cost you much, if any.
if what you hate is stock firmware, you can unlock bootloader, get warranty off, and flash LinageOS. Stable enough although still in nightly builds (successor of CyanogenMod)
hope that helps.
PS1: what you would fear the most is lose your SIM slot, happens a lot. Be safe!
PS2: asking if I tried it yes, I did. it worked. but I was on 6.0.1 at the time. do not take risk.
PS3: Motorola is a *****. DON'T MESS WITH IT.

There is, but if you are not good with command line, think twice. Check here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/complete-partition-backup-script-xt1644-t3608408
you would typically use that alongside full TWRP backup.
I can assure you nothing will go wrong if you jump straight to LineageOS, it might only go wrong if you take the bad decision of going back to stock. The dd images would give you solid backup, though.
In case you lose your sim slot, you can use help from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72343095&postcount=101
I intuitively contributed to that solution Giving is taking!
Thank you @m.sawastik and @givitago

I would also be happy to assist you if you want to jump to LineageOS. I won't assist you with dd backup, just because you need to take that responsibility on your own
My XT1625 is already on Lineage OS Andriod N. However, I feel like the cellular reception and thus battery life has been worse versus stock.
I wanted to flash only the latest baseband from the latest stock Andriod N but your Moto link only has 6.0.1 for XT1625.
What gives- I thought Motorola already updated the G4 to 7.0?
Will OTAs work with this?
Will OTAs work with these?
If I just want to upgrade my modem/baseband and then go back to LOS, do I just need to type "fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin" or do I need to make a full install?
it works for moto g4 t1625 amazon version?? compilation number npj25.93-14.5 ?????? i answer this because in the web site motorola its appear the moto g4 rom xt1625 build MPJ24.139-64
Works!
I just want to say that I had a Moto G4 Plus (XT1642) that had no SIM recognition, no IMEI, no Wifi, and thanks to the instructions at the top of this thread, I now have it all.
I spent the whole day trying all sorts of things. Now it finally works!
Thanks!
How do I flash?
Hi friend, sorry but my English is not good.
My phone will receive nougat via OTA?
Something has broken my sound notifications
When I try this procedure I get a lot of these errors against some of the commands
(bootloader) Image aboot failed validation
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
(bootloader) will fail: flash:aboot
FAILED (remote failure)
And now sounds that accompany any notifications from any applications fail to make any sound. Vibrate does initiate.
I am trying to find a way to enable hotspot on my ATT Moto G4 plus, if I flash this rom can anyone confirm it will unlock this feature? Torn between flashing or just going in to kernel and make change for this feature, any advice appreciated..
how to restore the sim slot after flash( i have no service)
i had frp, and after remove it with 3rd party tool i flash new rom.
now i have no service(but it detect the sim), there is any way to restore the sim slot?
i flashed the original rom from motorola site and it didnt help.
i flash the lineage OS and it didnt helped.
thanks

I've been searching for a fix for a few months now, whenever I get free time. Most threads about the subject die and aren't revisited. Someone will inevitably come to this page on a Google search wondering like us. I haven't found anything that will help and so I'm calling it quits. This phone is so outdated it would be better suited to find a deal somewhere else.
Thanks... can't find the button.

I want you and yours to be blessed forever and great post.
Bootloader is unlocked but somehow it is stuck between root and no root. Will figure it out....
Again... thanks... this is a big deal for me. :good:

Can you root Android 10 v11.0.5.0.? New to Xiaomi phones...

Hello. I bought my Mi A2 Lite today off ebay and it came with Android (One) 10, version 11.0.5.0. I need help rooting it.
I've used Samsung phones all my life, So I'm very used to Odin and all Samsung procedures. This is my first Xiaomi phone, and I can't find a real basic guide for rooting it. I don't really understand the ones I've seen, especially this fastboot thing.
I'd appreciate if I could have some step-by-step help on how to root this phone on the latest v11.0.5.0.
Many thanks!

Thanks, but I'm confused by two things.
The first one is step number 4:
4. Now connect the phone with your PC via USB cable, open an administrative command prompt, move to the directory where the Android platform tools are placed and unlock the bootloader with the following command:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
The phone will reboot, erasing all the data.
Now you unlocked your phone's bootloader and can continue to the next section.
I already flicked the "OEM" unlock in Developer Options. What Android platform tools is he talking about? and where do I get them? This is exactly the help I need with. The guide is for someone who knows about fastboot, I have zero experience with it. I'd appreciate help?
Second thing that confuses me:
The patched boot images available for download are for older builds (the newest one for download is for 10.0.3.0 and I'm on the latest 11.0.5.0). Does that matter?
Thanks again.

These android platform tools: https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
You must use matching versions for the boot image or your system won't boot. Newer patched boot images are generally posted to the guides section of the forum. Here's the one for 11.0.5.0.

Since you're coming from a different phone, please be careful and read all the instructions. Double-check with people if you're not sure. This phone is different to other phones and people have been caught out by those differences.

Question From USA to Italy, which factory image to load?

Hello everyone
I have a question for you who are more experienced. I'm missing from the Android ecosystem from the glorious Pixel 3 from Samsung, about 11 years ago. I loved the Pixel3 user interface, so polisched and modern for the times. Now I have finally decided to do the swith from my iPhone xs to Pixel 6 pro.
I bought the phone in USA, directly from google, but I live in Italy.
Do you advise me to flash the P6P with a different factory image?
I understand that the code name for P6P is raven, but it's not clear to me which factory image I should upload. Can you give me the right suggestion?
Thanks in advance for the support.
Regards,
Giuseppe

You're welcome! It's at least 50/50 chance that it would be better to wait. I have no problem on the .017 December firmware, but plenty of folks do, and I haven't had much of a problem at all with any of the firmwares so far.
What I do not understand is why there are those who force the installation of a release that has been intentionally removed from distribution. If google did there will be a reason, I think. But perhaps the benefits are greater than the disadvantages.

Because it fixes some things for some people.
So January update is finally here and, if I well understood is a Global (unified) version.
I have downloaded raven sq1d.220105.007 Factory.
And sorry for the stupid question, which is the best way to install it on a brand new, out of the box P6P?
I have to start the phone first and do the first configuration or I can immediately flash the factory image and start from a fresh new install? How?

You'll have to allow the phone to boot up first since you'll need access to the OS to perform some commands on your PC. You can just allow the phone to boot and skip a lot of the setup process, only because flashing the most recent factory image will put you back to stock, AKA wipe your phone back to where it was when it left the factory, and then once the new image has been installed you can do a proper phone setup from scratch.
If you're not familiar with using terminal commands and don't want to run the risk of messing up your phone, I suggest you use the Android Flash Tool since it'll do everything for you and is fairly simple. Just connect your device over USB and visit the Android Flash Tool using the link below. Android Flash Tool works with any Web browser that supports WebUSB, such as Chrome or Edge. The Android Flash Tool guides you step-by-step through the process of flashing your device - there's no need to have tools installed, but you will need to unlock your device and enable USB Debugging from Developer Options.
I've provided a link on how to enable USB Debugging and Developer Options, here - https://source.android.com/setup/contribute/flash
To flash the latest January Stock image on your device, simply visit this link - https://flash.android.com/build/8030436?target=raven-user&signed
Click through those links and see if it all makes sense; and if not, report back. Either I (or someone else) will be happy to help.

They do the same thing, however the android flash tool is much easier to use.

You're welcome! I'm assuming all went well and you're on the latest release?
The flash tool is automated and much simpler. it's a better way to make sure you're fully stock if you were planning on selling the device or trading it in.
Think of ADB as a more advanced way of interacting with your phone when you plan on modifying it from stock. The flash tool only allows you to flash official Google images, unless a developer has implemented the same tool with a custom ROM they've developed that you plan on using.
I'm sure there's other things I'm missing that folks will chime in with.

I have the scatter for 6833 if anyone needs it. File enclosed as well as a few other tools and files I needed to root my revvl 6 5g, you should be able to do the rest on your own. Make sure when you are using mtkclient that you back up your preloader above all things in case you mess up. Your scatter will save your hide as well. I've also enclosed mtkclient bypass tool and the 6833 payload you will need as well. Good luck, and credit to Hovatek, and bkerley for their respective tools. If using sp flash tool use the enclosed scatter and the DA_allinone file for the other.

I found the source code somewhere, I just copied the text and removed the quotation marks and saved it in notepad. Spflash gave me trouble and I had to tinker with some things and bypass DA. But it worked. I thought it'd work for everybody, but now spflash isn't working for some folks, but then we found the newest version. It's not on the official site :/ but now some folks can't get back to stock even with correct files and firmware. I have at least 3 guys dead in the water. Any help would be appreciated. I know you have a life and all, but if you get the time

I don't know how much I can help; I'm little more than an amateur with an engineer type of learning capability and a tenacious drive. I suck at teaching, but will take a look at the thread anyway, because on the way to rooting a treble based a/b partition with tamper evident ro.props, plus having bricked my device 9 ways to Sunday, there's some possibility of being able to offer some assistance. See you there man.

You're definitely more knowledgeable than I am, it seems. Thanks

Question Anyone bricked/EDL/9008 their ROG 6?

Follow and complain here.
Let ASUS know their bootloader implementation is VERY NOT FRIENDLY to us. I've been modding my Android devices since the Android 2 era and this is the first time I encountered an UNOFFICIALLY UNRECOVERABLE state which is a HORRIBLE experience.
Me? Have played with
Samsung(S5 to S9 and Tab/Odin is a good thing)
XiaomiRedmiPoco(Main device for me today, very modder friendly and robust)
Huawei(Remember when they allow applying for BL unlock?)
Apple(LOL jailbreak from A4 SoC until iPhone X(meantime Samsung S8 looks gorgeous) lost my interest)
And various small brands or exited market big brands(honorable mention Lenovo LePhone C101. My first smart device/Android and received big community support at the good old time)
ASUS. Fix your buggy BL. Fix your policy. Release everything we need to fix OUR DEVICES of OURSELVES. Just ONE step closer to perfect.
Just imagine how stupid is this:
Everytime you want to update you operating system, your UEFI/BIOS firmware might break.
And worse, that you don't have free official resources to fix it?
And can it be worse? Yes! Your Warranty is maybe void because you may unlocked bootloader, now supposedly only ASUS service center have the file to fix it.
Ha now it's interesting. That's the era of ANTITRUST. Even Apple won't do it(Worst case DFU, easily fixable using OFFICIAL iTunes).
WT*?
yeah dude i'm bricked up rn
Paid here, paid there.
Yeah sure.
Exploit people.
Perhaps instead of ranting about asus, you could tell us what you have done exactly to brick your device, and someone might be able to help you ? can you get into fastboot at all?
EDIT: quoted content removed.
Never use this firmware, because it has not been modified, 100% of fingerprints and IMEI will be lost after use. You need to modify the firmware before you can flash it.

Ok, yes you definitely should not do that
So just wondering, you went and grabbed some img files and made the decision to flash them, why is this any fault of asus?

1\ The fastboot code in their bootloader have bugs, any CORRECT command you type can easily break bootloader then stuck you in 9008.
2\ The normal update method failed because THEIR UPDATER did do things wrong.
3\ They refuse to provide official ROM to let yourself fix it. SEND IT TO ME TO FIX IT, AND I MIGHT CHARGE YOU SOME.
....\
N\ You go talk to Apple about it because they are experts about saying YOU USED IT WRONG.
Anyone asked for help gets it for free so far.
All devs on my chat group agree at least fastboot flashable should be available on the official download page.
MOD EDIT: off topic content removed
Did you manage to unbrick your phone?
I managed to semi hard brick my phone. Can get into fastboot but unable to start recovery mode from fast boot and phone doesn't show up from adb devices.
I guess I'll start a new thread but any tips?

If you can boot into fastboot you can just flash the RAW ROM file available a few days ago. It's not bricked in this case.
