Have you tried with a differen MIUI Account?

@Yamin_bableyk
if it is a used one, it may be that it has already been activated. a second time is not possible. Then you have to contact the seller. He must delete it from his xiaomi account.

You mean it's already been unlocked ?
Because it's not, there's no account other than mine in it.

Maybe even try reinstalling the tool! Also make sure not to use any VPN in the background...

have exactly the same issue with my poco F2 Pro right now. tried all different versions of the Mi Unlock Tool. It always just shows this error. Tried on 3 different PCs with different cables. Don't have VPN. Please tell me if you found a solution.
Have not tried a new Mi Account yet.

I fixed it for myself... Don't know which step exactly helped, but I had removed a lot of Xiaomi "bloatware", so what I did was reinstalling all the standard apps with the tool "XiaomiADBFastbootTools" which I had used to remove these apps. Afterwards I flashed the current ROM again with recovery as described here: https://www.bgr.in/how-to/flash-miui-11-recovery-rom-xiaomi-smartphone-android-10-856737/
Then signed out of MI account on the phone, signed in again. Went to developer options and did the request to unlock again. Then it worked right away.
So maybe the problem is that you are missing one of the necessary miui apps on your phone

you can try to use qr code on mi unlock
i had the same error on my f2 pro

hi guys, question does unlocking bootloader will wipe out all the data? and if so. would you recommend a back up software that can literally back up all apps and app data?

I am having same issue. Unknown error 1004. Device Mi 11t pro.

Same here with RN11_SPESN on 13.0.13
And now?

I had the same problem. It is mainly a device or sim verification problem. If you have unknown error 1004 problem you also probably can't sync your phone number with mi cloud.
Solve:"First create a xiomi account using only email address , don't add phone number yet. Then insert a sim card on your phone in slot one whice you will add later.
Log in in that phone using the same account you created using only email address and add account from developer option>>mi unlock status and don't add phone number yet. Then login to your mi account from mi unlock app on your PC.Then they will ask to add a phone number.Add that phone number of slot 1.Then an sms or call with a verification code will be sent on your phone. Verify .And then try to unlock.
It will work 100% insha Allah.

Add phone number from the mi unlock tool app.
Don't add phone number before that.
You have to verify your phone number through mi unlock tool app.
Follow the instructions properly.

10 steps to unlock your phone if you have trouble doing it. (Unlock Bootloader)

Hey guys, i had trouble unlocking my phone following different guides and now that i've done it, i thought i would share the steps i did so it may help other users.
Let's do this:
1. First turn off any VPN both on your pc and phone.
2. Download the mi unlock tool.
3. On your phone disconnect your main mi account. (we will create a new mi account that we gonna only use for the unlocking process)
4. On Pc create a new mi account with email only. (you won't use any phone number in the whole process.)
5. On Pc go to your email box and click on the link to activate your mi account.
6. On your phone add your new mi account account (it will ask you phone number just choose "other ways to sign in" and put your new mi account "email and pass")
7. On your phone go to Additional settings > developper options. and check the OEM unlocking.
8. On Pc go to i.mi.com they will ask you to upgrade your account. don't do it. instead click on the find device purple bouton. (it doesn't matter if it locate your phone or not).
9. On your pc let that window open and minimize it. Open Mi unlock tool.
10. Turn off your phone and boot on fast boot "volume down + turn on" connect your phone to your pc and press "Unlock".
Your phone should get unlocked instantly when reaching 100%. Press reboot phone.
PS: If you still having trouble you can create as many mi accounts as you want and try the different steps again.
Hi
Not working, created new account, added it to my new Redmi Note 5 for unlock, all step done, but had the 360 hours to wait message at the end.
Unlock process gets to 99% and then "Current account is not bound to this device" message. If I do that I have to enter my phone number.
Does it matter if I have a SIM inserted?
Ok, after chasing the magic unicorn and 8 accounts later I can say that I have my doubts that it is possible with any of these methods.
You really have to wait 15 days to unlock. This really lowers the value of this phone a lot.
PS.: You need the (official) Dev ROM (global/chinese doesn't matter I guess) so that you can maybe unlock it in 15 days. Otherwise you get the "Current account is not bound to this device" no matter what you do.

For your previous question it doesn't matter to have the sim card or not.
Other than that my friend got a new vince phone and unlocked it with those steps after 3 attempts with 3 different accounts. The third account made him meet the magic unicorn.

Hmm, I always get the "Current account is not bound to this device" message if I dont bind it.

try flashing developer rom ,
I already use the dev ROM otherwise I wouldn't even be able to bind the account.
I guess the problem is that you need an old account for this method.
PS.: Btw the method described here is without binding if I understand it correctly, but I tried it with and without.

To get to the 360h wait you need to bind your account. If you get the 86006 error you probably need to use one of the dev ROMs (Global or Chinese).

Care to share your Mi Unlock app?
EDIT: IT WORKS!
I used the old version miflash_unlock-en-2.3.803.10 (link https://www.xiaomigeek.com/download-mi-flash-unlock-tool.html) instead of the latest 3.3.525.23.
Other than that, just follow the steps from OP.
No need binding.
Old ver of mi unlock doesn't check for binding (although it still asks to login - use the new account to login to mi unlock)

Hey guys,
my Redmi Note 5 Global arrived today. I have the permission for unlock since 2 years, so I tried to unlock it with no success. First I got an unknown error and after some attempts I got the message: Couldn't Unlock "After 360 hours of trying to unlock the device".
Is there a way to solve this? I've found no solution so far, would a new mi account with new permission solve the problem?

The secret trick is not to Bind your account in Developer Options, but just log in on the device.

Yes. Everytime the same error
These are the steps I'm doing, maybe there's something obvious wrong or I'm too stupid^^
1. Try to unlock with first account --> 360h
2. Reboot phone, logout from mi account. Login into the second mi account.
3. Reboot in Fastboot --> sign out on the mi unlock tool and sign in with the second account --> current account is not bound to the device.
After the 360h message from the first account, the mi unlock tool should be not touched?
Edit: Tried also the way with removing the device from I.mi.com. My RN5 has no inserted sim card, is that a problem? Just wifi.
Edit 2: Tried also with closing mi unlock tool between the 2 unlock attempts and with inserted sim card, same result.

Uhmm, you should also try to clear the cache of MI unlock tool. Otherwise, it gives you same error no matter how many times you try. That's what I'd do. It might not work but try it and redo the procedure. Share the results

Can't exactly remember. Look in file menu for about option in mi unlock tool and in that if I remember correctly there should be a log button. If you click that a directory will open. Remove all the files. It may not be accurate as I'm not at home right now.

I wondered, I fiddled a bit with the config, and I saw:
C:\Users\me\Downloads\miflash_unlock-en-3.3.525.23\config\app_info
Inside:
Maybe there's a way to call an OLDER api version
I don't have time to play with that, but maybe it's a good hint to solve the issue.

Unlocking the bootloader
While unlocking the bootloader, I went to developer settings and was trying to unlock the device.
Don't disconnect from the network, sign out of your Mi Account, perform a factory rest, or erase system data. If you've already done any of the above, add your Mi Account again; otherwise, you won't be able to unlock your device.
I was getting this error, after restarting the phone, signing out and signing in; the same issue.
I even did a factory reset but had the same issue.
Please let me know what can be done.

I've not unlocked any Xiaomi device (my Mi Pad 4 came unlocked) with my Mi account, although I have used the account on my Mi Pad 4 for almost 3 years now.
