Question Flashed ATT firmware to VZW S22 901U - Still has VZW splash screen and software? - Samsung Galaxy S22

So I flashed the ATT firmware S901USQU1AVC8 to my Verizon S22 901U and the starting splash screen is still the Verizon logo and when I start the setup process it still requires Verizon activation via wifi and asks to login to Verizon account to use their "My Verizon" app.
I flash BL, AP, CP, CSC via Odin
Any way to get all ATT branding, splash screen, and apps?

The U vs the U1 variant may use different hardware... be warned. This is true with N10+ N975U vs N975U1. The C post pcb is completely incompatible between them. You see where this is going if the firmware controlling the hardware is different.

I'm not using a U1, just a U and U firmware.

Just be careful as AT&T is partnered with Samsung and actually influence the software and hardware used in many cases.
I'm not familiar with Verizon's practices.
Personally I leave the firmware alone; I don't upgrade or update if the phone is running well.
This N10+ in my hand is still running well on Pie.

Unless you want vid calling, the wifi stuff or maybe tethering (not sure if needed), I wouldn't worry about it. On my AT&T N10+ all AT&T apps and services are disabled. It runs fine.
My unlocked N10+ runs the same. I don't use vid calling or wifi.

Holy **** there's a ton of misinformation on here.
You need to flash the U1 software FIRST, then flash the AT&T software after that. You can't flash from carrier straight to another carrier. It even says this in the U1 firmware thread, in the very first post.
Personally, I'd just leave it as the U1 version.

I really don't know but do know that hardware is different on the AT&T Snapdragon from the unlocked variant. Is the Verizon using the same C port PCB as AT&T? Probably not.
Who knows unless you check the PN, if not the same it will puke on you... cam module may be a different PN too another member said. The C port PCB definitely is; apart and verified. The C port pcb is tied into phone and internet access
My unlocked N10+ has just about the same amount of bloatware as my AT&T variant*, all which is useless and package disable. As long as it has VoLTE and internet there's no point as to which version you use... pretty much same-same.
Lol, I hate the AT&T splash screen.
*the disable list is nearly identical less AT&T apps. Actually used the disable list imported from the N975U to set up the N975U1 Package Disabler

You’re 100% wrong here. All US models are absolutely identical hardware wise. Has been for years. If you have proof otherwise, please feel free to link it here.

WRONG... maybe. I'll find out in a few months when I replace the battery again.
*Unfortunately I don't have images of the two different c port pcbs as the phone was apart.
I wish I did have the P/N to avoid getting the wrong part without pulling the rear cover first.
It was a repair shop and I really wish I had wrote down both numbers now. Ended up putting the old one back in.

Even though I don't have a U1 model? I have a regular S22 U model.

Correct. To flash from carrier to carrier, you need to go to U1 first. Personally I’d just stay on U1.

I have an unlocked S22 ultra....I tried to ODIN newer software a few months ago and I didn't put the HOME CSC in there and left it blank. Well, it completely erased everything (stupid me) and I had to start from scratch all over again. I was so mad at myself for not doing a backup before I tried to flash. Can the experts who have been doing this longer than I have tell me exactly what I need to do to make sure nothing gets erased and all of the settings stay in tact? I downloaded the newest S908USQS2AVDC TMB version. Is this going to put TMobile on my phone where I need to freeze apps I don't want or how do I carry over from the version I have now (S908U1UEUAVC8)? Or do I need to specifically wait for the unlocked version of the software?

Too bad about not having backed up first. But in some ways, you might be better off not having attempted to transfer all your personal data along with the new firmware. I have read here and elsewhere that the process is more likely to fail when attempting to transfer the personal data concurrently.
Hope everything worked out to your satisfaction.

What if I loaded a STOCK FIRMWARE from AT&T on my T-Mobile?

I was wondering since both the AT&T and Tmobile phones are the same I could possibly flash a stock firmware from AT&T on to my T-mobile SGS III and then use an AT&T sim? I'm trying to use an AT&T sim card. Thought this might be an alternative to unlocking the phone. thanks.
I doubt that it would work

Just because you flash an att rom doesn't mean its gonna unlock the phone to use it on a different carrier. If you try that it will brick or crash. DON'T DO IT! Seriously, if you want to use it for another carrier you can request a subsidy unlock from Tmobile if you have an account in good standing every 90 days. If you bought it threw a third party try another method to get the device unlocked. Or if you bought it right out full price from Tmobile they can process the subsidy unlock request as well. Once you have your unlock code it should come with instructions or if not you can go to Tmobile.com support section for your phone the Samsung T999.

I'm just curious why would it brick the phone? Both of these phones are the SAME hardware wise. Even under the IMEI sticker of my tmobile s3 it says i747..
Radios are different, kernel I believe is slightly different. Just not a good idea unless a dev specifically says its safe.
It also wont help with the unlock. Thats not ROM dependent.
Also, the phones are NOT the same. I don't know why some seem to think they must be the same. What are they basing this on? They are very similar yes, and perhaps the ROM from AT&T will work. I don't know. However, sometimes very similar phones may have some very important differences, like a kernel, radio, or one or more partition/s that may be offset by one perhaps because of some aforementioned reason. Or any combination of those. Don't assume the phones are identical because the Internet says so. If you are confident that the phones are in fact identical, then by all means, flash away. Just let us know how it turns out. It may work.
Do a "getprop" in terminal and you may note some very important differences in there, besides the device name/model, etc. Has anyone seen the ril.modem.board or crypto values from an AT&T SGSIII?
If the mount points are different, which they probably are, you copuld end uup with a very expensive paper weight unless you know how to make the needed changes to the updater-script, which you would have to hack to even flash the rom in the forst place because the ro.device props will be different.
Unlocking a phone has nothing to do with the ROM, most phones give you 10 chances to enter a correct unlock code until the phone it carrier locked with whatever carrier the phone is for.
The unlocking of the phone is usually hard flashed and if you exhaust all attempts, you have to send it in to get reflashed from the carrier.
T-Mobile will generally offer you a free unlock code after 60-90 days of a phone purchase, but that does not mean you can flash ATT on T-Mobile and vice versa.
They are on different bands and have different setups, if they were the same they would just have one phone for both carriers.
OP should try it for the lulz. Phones are SAME! XD
Chances are a repartitions flash in Odin would fix it, but i'm jot sure about that. It's just a bad idea.

LG G4 (Question, Help, & Money)

This may be kinda long but please read, I really need some actual help. I can offer a little amount of cash (Paypal) for someone to really help me to get what I want and need.
A few days ago I upgraded from a dumb flip phone that I've used for years. So the logical choice would be the new LG G4, the best phone out there as of now. So I've had it for a few days and I've noticed a few things that are really annoying me, but I'd like to focus on my main issue.
The main issue I've had is, bloatware. Now I am a computer person that if I buy a new PC / laptop, etc. I don't even use it until I reinstall Windows. I HATE bloatware more than anything, and I knew that the phone would have some bloatware that I figured I could uninstall and such. I know nothing about phones so I've been reading up and I came across the Debloater program that disables apps, which is nice but not what I want. What I want is 100% no bloat, I want the OS and drivers for the phone on the main features such as Camera, Messener+, Keyboard, etc. I don't want any extra space or ram or even the battery being used by anything besides my
regular apps.
I've tried task managers and such but even having them auto kill apps it seems that it eats my battery just as much if not worse.
I found out about rooting and ROMs in my research and from what I can tell. I need to install a custom ROM, and I believe the one that will give me what I want is CyanogenMod? I'm told its the Android OS and NOTHING more. This is what I want, but I wanna be able to still install Android updates from my phone and not having to reinstall the new version of the ROM, so I'm not sure how updating works.
I'm not sure if my phone needs to be unlocked and / or rooted to install a custom ROM? If I need to be I need someone to help me through these also.
So is there anyway that someone could lead me step by step in installing CyanogenMod? I've saw some tutorials and such but since the G4 is new everything I find on it seems kinda sketchy or really confusing, so if anyone is willing to help me on FB Chat, Team Viewer, Steam, any other messenger, PLEASE PM me ASAP. I rather not try and follow a tutorial on something this pricy, I can't buy another phone. And they never work for me it seems. Plus live person to ask questions to is something I'll need.
NOTE: I have the VS98611a model of the G4, and I have Verison right now, but I'm going to switch to Cricket since Verison removed my features like FM Radio, Themes, etc. Not way to get those back?
To do what you're asking is to require a unlocked bootloader. You're on the verizon model, and it currently doesn't have an unlocked bootloader. You'd need the h815 or the T-Mobile (I believe) models as they have unlocked bootloaders right now.
I believe cyanogen is on their final 5.1 build. As in no more updates or nightly revisions for stability. Unless I'm mistaken.
I haven't heard of an aosp Rom direct from Google being offered on anything aside from the nexus line, but I could be mistaken.

I'm ready to leave Verizon now so when I leave them it will be unlocked. So then that will take care of that, right? I really wanna get this done...
Either way there is a way to unlock them without having that model, yes? I've heard of people unlocking phones for years.
Anyway to check if mine is unlocked?
Your boot loader is locked. You can root the phone and remove most bloat. That is all you can do at this time.
There is no way to unlock the boot loader on your model.
Until a workaround is found, you have no other options. Enjoy the phone as is. It's a great phone

I'm sure Verizon will do it for me when I leave them or I can't use it for any other carrier. I could return it and buy the unlocked version. But is it really worth it?
Whats the difference between the models and which is better anyways? I think I'm going to buy the unlocked version from offline.

Verizon will not care at all. They will not unlock the bootloader.
Carrier unlock is completely different.

How do I get my disabled features back? The FM Radio, Themes, etc. Guess Verizon got rid of them. If I leave Verison will I get them back? Or since it's a Verison phone... I don't get them?
Basically it's a Verizon phone. You don't get them.
What are all the G4 models and their carrier?
Which models are unlocked?
Which models come with ALL features?Clearly the VS986 Verizon doesn't.
The H815 is the International version?? I hear its a bloat free version and its unlocked? Does it work with carriers in the US? Cricket, Verizon, Sprint?
I don't know what to do, so many models, no one has any information.

The International H815 can be unlocked and will work on GSM carriers such as ATT or T-mobile only. Basically, if your carrier uses a SIM card, it should work.

I want all my features, no bloat, unlocked, and works with Verizon and Cricket.
Which do I need to get for this?
You can change the Network mode on the Phone, from Global, to LTE/CDMA to LTE/GSM/UMTS, so as long as the H815 has those same options, you should be able to use it with ANY carrier, Cricket, Verizon, ATT, etc. Right? Just tell me what model I need to get what my first line asks.
H815 does not work at all with CDMA, (aka Verizon/Cricket/Sprint/Boost) You're best bet is going to be rooting your phone or waiting for a bootloader unlock. (bootloader unlock might or might not ever happen) Rooting your phone will allow you to remove most of the bloatware.
Honestly, you're freaking out over nothing.
Disable any apps you don't want to see, and they'll go away forever. At this point in time, bloat is only a concern for power users who want to fine tune their phones, as a first time smart phone user you should focus only on the great new features your phone will have.

1. Verizon got rid of some of my features I'd like to use. I won't EVER be able to get this back since it's a Verizon phone.
2. I need to move to Cricket since Verizon did the above and cost more.
I'm told I can switch, but I won't know until I cancel and go to Cricket. So I wanna know what version to get and go straight to Cricket.
Just because it's my first phone doesn't mean anything. I fine tune my PC like crazy and it runs amazing. I've turned everything off on this phone and yet it's down 11% not being used while I slept. That's bad.
Seems like the G4 sucks a little because only 1 is unlocked?

Cricket is NOT CDMA anymore. Hasn't been for almost a year since AT&T bought them and converted to GSM.
OP, get the H815. It will work on cricket bands and the bootloader is unlocked. It's exactly what I will be doing soon since I'm officially sick of Samsung (Sammy fangirl here, or used to be) and them turning their phones into crapple. I have cricket service as well. Good luck.

confused... t-mobile firmware stock OTA???

So I just purchased a new pixel 2 XL, an I'm getting ready to update my phone to the latest 8.1 OTA firmware from Google developer section (pie looks to have too many problems that are unacceptable to me), and I'm seeing T-Mobile firmware. I am on T-Mobile in the US, but I'm wondering if this is firmware for European market or something weird.
Should I use the T-Mobile firmware, or the non-specified OTA?

Thank you for answering, unfortunately the only update that corresponds with OPD1 for my device is the firmware I am currently on. There are also multiple firmwares with the same date for other similar numbers (there is an OPD1 for Rogers, as well as one for Telstra and another with no signifier and so on). I'm not seeing anything that really correlates to my device in particular. Not for updates anyways. The build numbers have changed.
In my mind it is only logical that they have Google images and Verizon images as they never released model that was carrier specific outside of those two.

I really appreciate your help. I am on stock firmware and have really good connectivity, so I think I'll do what you have done and stick to similar firmware.
I have one last question. I'm about to sideloaded this, the instructions say to make sure there are no pending updates before proceeding. I have pending pie update which I have not downloaded, is this going to cause issues? I can't see why it would. I guess at worst it will reject my sideloaded at worst if it was expecting something else?

Already updated. Everything is smooth so far. Thank you for taking the time to help. I used to make ROMs when ICS was out, but everything has changed. Partition scheming and the whole 9. Lol. Yeah, much has changed since the good ole days. Welcome home! ?
Can some one confirm what OTA should I download for T-Mobile US on Pixel XL 2 for 9.0 ? Thank you
The one NOT for Telstra.
I'm hoping they release an update for TMobile. I'm having serious signal issues since moving to Pie... Once the signal drops a bit I immediately drop to 3G or even H+... Never had that issue with the TMobile release for Oreo.

Horrible ATT reception with unlocked Note 10+

So I switched from a ATT S9+ to the (Unlocked) Note 10+ and have had the most horrible reception on ATT. I was wondering if it's happening to anyone else? I spoke with the ATT advanced tech team and she told me that because it's not the ATT Note 10+ that it's not configured for their network. Is this true? She then help me set up a new APN which was the same as before she just added hipri to the apn type. Is anyone else having this same issue or know what's going on? I need to know before I convince myself to return this one for a ATT Note 10+.
1. did you try to check and see if there's a software update?
2. try to turn off phone and turn back on
i using unlocked note10+ on verizon prepaid no problem.
i also have a freedomp simcard, it uses the att network, it showing the same 3 bar signals like my toy iphone8 at my house
I also use unlocked dual SIM 975F on ATT. It works but I feel like the speed is slow but ironically, when I compared to a '5G' iPhone on ATT I got faster speeds - go figure. I'm trying to get them to enable voLTE . I believe we miss band 30!which is used in cities. The trade off is worth it though, for me to have dual SIM.

Yea I have the latest software. I have the N75U1. The whole reason why I got unlocked is because of bloatware and also so I'll be able to unlock and root the phone once that feature becomes available. So hopefully I made the right decision.

i have the unlocked version. I flashed AT&T firmware. Signal is the same. Makes no difference unlocked or carrier branded, the hardware is the same.

So based off of that should I return this phone and swap it out with the att version? I thought the unlocked had the same hardware and a little more? Sorry I didnt do my research on bands and all that good stuff.

Yea I have the latest software. I have the N75U1. The whole reason why I got unlocked is because of bloatware and also so I'll be able to unlock and root the phone once that feature becomes available. So hopefully I made the right decision.

If you bought the N975U1, then it's already carrier unlocked.
If you mean unlock the bootloader, that will never happen. And there's about a 99.9% chance it will never be rooted.

Yea I have the N975U1. Im guessing it has all the same hardware as the att note 10 plus or is there something different? Well... that's good to know lol I guess I bought it so it has no bloatware then lol thanks for the heads up.

Yup. Same exact hardware.
The N975U, the N975U1, and the N975W (Canadian) are all exactly the same hardware and you can cross flash hardware between them.

I think it varies carrier and location. I just flashed the tmobile firmware which is the same for at&t and I got VOLTE ,WIFI CALLING AND ADVANCED MESSAGING back. Where I had no service I have 2 bars now.
So I'm happy now. Try it for yourself before returning

Thank you for that info that's all I needed to know because what the att advanced tech team said was that the att note 10 was specifically for their network including hardware so I was thinking it had something this unlocked version didnt.

LOL. Nope same exact device, just different firmware.
I bought the unlocked too. I really needed wifi calling since my ATT service is poor at my house. Once I flashed the ATT firmware (including ATT User Data file) I got wifi calling, VoLTE, HD Voice, Visual Voice all back. My calls are 100% better. Before flashing I sounded muffled to the people who I called & calls were dropping. Now they are crystal clear & no drops. I mainly got the unlocked for the Trade in value on my Note 9. Totally worth it.

Any chance you can direct us to the post(s) that you followed to do this correctly? I've been collecting files to attempt this for AT&T, but haven't found a decent guide.

Disclaimer: You do this at your own risk! Read & re-read the details! I am not responsible if you brick your phone
Now, all that being said, it was actually an easy process but I searched and read and read and re-read before trying anything.
I got the firmware & most importantly for AT&T, the UserData file from this thread (Read the entire Post (maybe 2 or 3 times), it's very informative:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10+/how-to/n975u-n975u1-firmware-links-t3957648
I followed the instructions from this S10 thread See POST #5 & substituted the N975U file Wording when they listed the file names for the S10 firmware:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/help/samsung-s10-unlocked-phone-att-firmware-t3912973
NOTE I used a patched version of ODIN from this thread (and not the version linked to in the S10 discussion thread above):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
Lastly, I am using my old Note 9 AT&T SIM Card. From what I've read, at any given time, AT$T can update their system and your IMEI might not correspond to their ATT specific list and apparently you can lose functionality. I've been fine for a week and others have been flashing unlocked phones with ATT firmware for years so I'll take my chances.
Good Luck!

Use the patched version of Odin.
Turn the phone off and press and hold the power,up and down volume buttons at the same time.
Let go once the download screen appears.
Go ahead and put all the files in the correct spot..AB to AN ,BL to BL and so on.
Once complete just start the flash and that's it. Leave the att sim in the phone through the whole process.
Done...

I have.
I'm not sure if the ATT file took.
I know I lost my apps/customizations...which I was expecting since I used the home-csc file.
Also my GMAIL app is not right, its missing the ability to set the frequency of SYNCs, which I had with the stock Gapps.

All U.S. Note10+ variants including the factory unlocked exactly the same hardware?

Are all U.S. Note 10+ phones, regardless of carrier or variant exactly the same phone/hardware and the firmware determines the difference? Correct? If I flash an unlocked Verizon Note10+ with UI XAA firmware, will I get the all of the bands that were missing with the Verizon firmware? Thanks.

AFAIK the hardware is the same ... as long as it's also SM-N976x.
Usually the branded US versions have unlocked bootloader. So flashing another firmware manually may not work.

I just learned over the past 2 days that an unlocked phone is different from a carrier locked phone. I am on the hunt to find how I can unlock my Verizon Note 10+. I have been consumed with spoof calls and telemarketers as of late. So bad I want to smash my phone. My number is listed on the National Do Not Call list. It has been for 20 years. I've had the same number for 20 years. That's why I don't want to change it. Why should I have to? This leads me to how I know about the difference in phones. I have been on a mission to locate a spam call blocker for my phone. One that genuinely works. That's when I learned of the Samsung Smart Call app. You know, the one Samsung installs on all their smart phones since the S7 in their war agains spam calling and ID protection. Don't know anything about it? Well, of course you don't!! That's because all US cell phone providers remove the app to force consumers to PURCHASE that's right SPEND MONEY on a service that Samsung built into your phone for FREE. So, NO THE UNLOCKED VERSION OF A PHONE IS NOT THE SAME AS A LOCKED VERSION. Please never tell someone that. An unlocked version also does not come with all the carrier bloatware that the locked version does. If you flash your unlocked phone, flash it with the firmware that's on it. That's my suggestion. Otherwise, you may regret it.
I take a personal interest in anyone who mucks with me on my phone. I go nuts with them.
Every now and then I get one fired, a bonus.
I generally have very little trouble... enjoy the morons fool enough to contact you
When it was once in a while, no big deal. When it became every day, day after day. Some times twice a day during work? Now I have to turn off my ringer. My parents are both elderly and not in the best of health. I've already missed 2 calls. I finally got pissed and decided to answer one of those spoof calls to tell them where to go. When it's a recording of a man's voice physically threatening me to return the call, you better believe I'm in rare form now. I'm studying cyber intelligence. I want these SOBs with every fiber of my being. It makes my blood boil every time I thing of that call and every person that might receive one like it. That sh$%*t has to stop.
That's another reason why I want to unlock my Note 10+ and install the Samsung version of my software instead of the Verizon version.

You need to get under their skin. Different things work on different people. Get to know them by feeling them out... then pounce.
When you hit their last nerve it's priceless.
No need to be polite or fair... great when you're really in a foul mood.
I had a bill collector husband/wife team from India hounding me for months. Nothing worked.
Finally I pretended like the husband was my long my long lost bf (not). He was a lot homophobic. That was the end of him. His wife still persisted until I used a similar Looney Toons spin with her.
A double KO. Be creative and have fun
OP, confirm new the PCB P/N matches with the original. Order using the original P/N.
Otherwise expect shenanigans on boot up
Thanks so much. Sorry I didn't follow up. I was looking into getting a ATT Note 10 and flashing unlocked XAA, but I bought an unlocked one instead. Thanks.

It's a great Note. I would keep it running on Pie though.
Thanks. I'm already on 11. I guess I can go back any time. Just need to download the latest PIE XAA, right?
Do I leave my SIM in the phone when I flash? Or does it matter

I'm not sure. Never have flashed my stock 10+, I just disabled updates.
Play with it first, see what you think.
You lose apps that use overlays and things like the Karma Firewall's valuble logging feature.
Worse CPU cycle robbing scope storage.
SD card functionality is likely boned too.

Same goes for Android 10? Every time you get a major upgrade, the bootloader version goes up? Thx
Latest android 9 version has BL version 2. If you are on Android 10, you should be able to downgrade to 9/Pie, provided it also has BL version 2.
Ever figure out if it can be unlocked?
