General [MIUI13][EEA][Android 12] Anything fixed/broken in the POCO F3 Official EEA Update SKHEUXM 13.0.4.0 - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hi, just posting this in order to have more information on this update, the changelog states only an update of the security patch up to February 2022 security patches, nothing else is said.
I've seen a few bugs on 13.0.3.0 such as bubbles of chat cannot be closed when in landscape, you must go in portrait orientation to close the bubble of chat.
But I don't know if anything has changed about Battery Life, I haven't had issues with the 120hz/60hz refresh rate of the screen so far.
I hope this post will help people in better knowing what the upgrade fixes and what it doesn't and also if it introduces new issues or not.

For me it fixes the incredibly laggy notification shade (on 13.0.3 it was like a slideshow, now after the 13.0.4 update is is buttery smooth). I also noticed that apps that support material you / monet now use the wallpaper color. My battery life is the same, no issues on that front.

i have a strange issue, sometime the first 4 cpu cores get stuck at 1800mhz
verified with aida64
happens randomly after long standby or long charging and increase idle power usage significantly. I have to enable and disable ultra battery saver to get them unstuck

I've also had an issue, had to reboot my POCO F3, and the update disappeared... I can't even force it manually, the update is no longer here no matter how much I check, seems like a very useful bug....
Furthermore, I'm probably going to move on to LOS 19 or DivestOS (a more secure focused fork of LOS) when we have an official support out for the POCO F3, then I'll update the firmware inside the recovery I guess

Have the exact same issue
Appeared a couple of times , could not update at that time due to low battery, after charge update dessapeared and cant get it back

Clear the cache for the updater app. That might help.

I can confirm that. Clearing Updater cache brought the update immediately.

I also did the update, but my cache must have cleaned itself alone somehow, I noticed now that some chat bubbles are even more buggy in landscape for instance.
Material You has been added, support in most apps, like for instance in a browser, your navigation bar has now an orange tint, before it did not, many apps that do support Material You, I guess are affected by this new feature.
I have no idea however where you can configure such.

[UNOFFICIAL/EXPERIMENTAL][ROM] Lineage 13.0 Resurrection Project ONLY for SM-T560NU

Info:
Target Device: SM-T560NU only (gtelwifiue)
OS: Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Variant: LineageOS 13.0
Status: Usable as daily driver, but still to be considered experimental
This project is a side project of mine to bring Lineage 13.0 back to the SM-T560NU.
I recently purchased one of these, and use a few apps that have not been updated in years. These apps do not work on Nougat, therefore I needed Marshmallow.
vince2678 had a great Lineage 13.0 build, but had started to shift his efforts towards the more popular and updated Android Nougat by the time that I got this tablet. vince had started to warn that he was going to be dropping Marshmallow to focus on Nougat.
Therefore, using his code base, and attempting to apply some more modern patches to keep Lineage 13.0 up to date, I started creating my own builds in private. There was one single, obsecure link to it, on my website, and it was discovered. Since the community has shown interest in this project, and vince has now officially dropped support for 13.0, I am willing to release my private builds.
Please keep in mind that while vince's builds were designed to be as stock as possible, my builds are tailored towards my needs.
They are not perfect, but they work for me. There are still some issues to be ironed out, and sometimes new issues sneak in when you think you are just building a security update
But, since you wanted them, here they are. At the time of this post there is only one, but this will grow over time, when I have spare time to try to fix any issues and apply security updates.
All builds use my optimized kernel.
Releases and known issues:
You can find my builds over at:
https://losupd.zefie.net/builds/full/?C=M;O=D
lineage-13.0_j199_20170720
Android Security Patch Level: July 1, 2017
USB MIDI Support (example video of controlling Logic Pro X with the SM-T560NU)
No changes to previous issues in this build (same issues apply)
lineage-13.0_j196_20170617
Android Security Patch Level: June 1, 2017
AudioFX is missing (disabled in build due to unsolved issue in ROM causing crashes)
Updater is untested. You may or may not get a notification when a new build is available.
Flashing the recovery that comes with these builds is advised against. It may work but is untested. Use my TWRP Build.
Device encryption does not yet work
There is a strange issue that prevents you from taking still images using the built-in camera app. Preview and video works. As a workaround, use any third party camera app. I suggest Open Camera.
Just flashed it, everything works great so far.
Ive tried and liked very much
Smooth and lightweight
So far for me the camera dont work but i can record video
Also the encrypt tablet option does not seem to work (I select the option in the security part of the settings screen, it restarts tablet and thats it)
Other than that it seems to be perfect
Thanks for all the hard work

I knew about the encryption but the camera issue is interesting and strange. I just tried it and see what you mean.
I will see what I can do about these issues in the next update, which will probably be mid-august.
Thanks for the report.
The issue seems to be with the Camera app itself, and not any issues with communicating with the hardware (despite the error message), since other camera apps appear to work fine.
In the mean time, if you would like to take still images with this build, I would suggest this great and free (ad free as well) camera app from the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera&hl=en
I have just tested it (with both rear and front cameras) and it can take still images.
560?
Is it compatible with T560 only ? Whats the difference between T560 and T560NU maybe US Market? or what the difference and where i can get a custom Recovery for the Tab?

This is for the T560NU only, not T560. From what I know they have entirely different processors so there is no way for a universal ROM.
Thanks for this amazing rom. I noticed following: can't change the size of analog clock and sound on the speaker is not very strong.

The clock issue is likely upstream, since I can't think of anything I did that would prevent resizing of widgets, and other widgets appear to be resizable.
But I will look into it.
Speaker issue noted, there was some issue with the internal mic being too low that I tweaked, I may have to check the values for the speaker.
Edit: personal tests show speaker volume is fine. any louder could damage the speaker. if the volume is low, check that the tablet is not laying on a soft surface or something that would otherwise muffle the speaker in the back. When not obstructed, the speaker volume seems fine to me.
Any progress on Audio FX and Camera issues?

Unfortunately I have not had the time to work on this in a while. When I don't have time I just update the source and build (and hope it works) for the security updates. This only takes a couple of minutes as the build process does all the work. One should be coming in the next few weeks. Once the automated build finishes, I test it locally for about an hour and if its good, I release it.
I am not sure when I will have time to actually sit and go through the code to try to debug it to fix the outstanding issues. This can take hours or even days of dedicated time which I just don't have at the moment due to trying to keep my bills paid.
Stay tuned to this thread for updates though, and I apologize for the delay.

After uninstalling 3rd party music app, volume is good again.
EDIT:
Unfortunately I am discontinuing this ROM. I made this ROM for my personal use, and it is no longer useful to me, and I do not have the time to debug it. Therefore, I am discontinuing it. The current builds and source will remain up, and if you guys are not having the issues I am having, and would like me to continue doing security updates, I will, so long as it still compiles without much work on my part.
There will be no updates to the existing issues though.
Despite my previous aversion to Android N, I would highly suggest vince's Lineage OS 14.1 builds. They have come a long way since I last tried them, and Android N isn't so bad after all
I haven't gotten a chance to do a logcat or anything, but I'm getting an instant bootloop after installing Nova Launcher.
It wasn't an issue until Nova updated a few weeks ago, and it affects both your builds. That's my favorite launcher, but I guess I can live without it
EDIT: I see that you're discontinuing this, so I guess this post is more of an FYI to other users.

SOT and battery life on Pie 9.0?

Hey guys,
I have just received my new A2 Lite (4gb 64gb) with Oreo.
Is the 9.0 Pie upgrade worth it?
What kind of SOT are you guys getting and how's the overall battery life?
Smoother/faster or worse?
Any annoying bugs that haven't been sorted out yet or something that would hold you back from upgrading?
Thanks!
I think oreo is better on drain.
Pie has faster animations.
I recommend you should wait january update for pie. We are on 5 december security patch.
I haven't see any annoying bug yet.
If you upgrade to pie an hard reset would be good for daily use and speed(after updrading).

I noticed no bugs either, but some things are annoying, for example there are network indicator arrows on statusbar and it keeps showing and hiding itself. When you have DND enabled, it shows a dot then shows the DND icon. It's flipping annoying if you ask me. Other than that it seems fine but be aware you can't use a 3rd party launcher properly with Pie because of the new dock. It looks ugly and cuts the animation if you install another launcher. So far that's all my issues with Pie. Some people report that Pie has worse battery life, but I think it has to do with AI optimizations and it gets better with usage. Tried and tested. If the first two problems I wrote about won't disturb you, go ahead and install it. ALSO Pie doesn't have rounded corners on notifications like it does on Pixel devices. Which was a huge deal-breaker for me at first, but then I got used to it. Cheers!
EDIT: Overall Pie seems smoother because of the new animations and SOT depends on usage, my record was about 8,5 hours sot but again it depends on your usage, technically Pie is supposed give you better battery life. When you upgrade to Pie, you can downgrade however you will face SIM card issues etc.

Alright! thanks! But I guess it doesn't have any significant good changes versus the 8.0 other than visual changes, and or pretty much things that we won't notice.
A black theme would be good to have, and maybe the possibility to add the Gcam APK with that night mode. (apparently not working well on Pie?)
Thanks again for your long reply.

Black theme is already present on android 8 but you need to use a dark wallpaper, it's always on automatic. On Pie you can set it to dark mode always, but the accent colors are teal and some people don't like them. Dark mode only applies to phone, messaging and quick settings. Gcam apk found in themes and apps works fine on Pie, but ones I tried with Night Shot have issues, although you can use Night Shot you can't use Portrait etc. which makes it unusable so I use the old version, which gets the job done.
I have 10.5 or 11.5 SOT on pie .. sorry for my bad english
I have been on Pie basically since it was released in Indonesia (vpn enforced update), and, for me, the only lowlights are the hidden notifications (as mentioned above) and sligthy worse SOT. On the other hand, I really grew to like the launcher gestures, especially the switch between the last 2 used apps. I do not even mind the always present google search bar, which I mostly use to find and launch applications, rather then swiping up for the app list. The fingerprint reader gesture is a nice addition too (although I preferred the side swipe introduced on pre-December patch version). It really depends on what is important for you. I am enjoying it and would not go back.

Moto G7 Power Display Graphics issues

I made a message on another thread about display issues with LineageOS on the 18.1 latest builds (possibly even in the previous 17.1 builds), and figured it would be beneficial to bring the issue here:
LineageOS for microG
Android experience relies heavily on Google's Play Services. The microG project creates an alternative to installing Gapps, which install and execute closed-source blobs on our phones. MicroG however requires a patch called "signature spoofing"...
forum.xda-developers.com
The Moto G7 Power (ocean) latest build (6-21-2021) has a very noticeable display issue, usually after you wake the device from rest/sleep mode, which seems like a graphics display issue where colors are almost inverted and pixelated. The official LineageOS build has recently added a newer build (6-26-2021) which I haven't tested, may have addressed this issue (though doesn't seem like it's listed on the 'recent changes' link), but I try not to switch between ROMs if I don't have to as I prefer yours for privacy. A quick fix is to adjust the "Colors" to "Saturated," and it usually allows you to go back to any color scheme after that, until you reset or power off the phone, then the issue comes back when you wake it from then...

I saw maybe one other post on reddit mentioning this bug, even on 17.1 builds of the official LineageOS.

Does anyone have a permanent solution for this problem?
I've been experimenting with the issue, and it possibly might be a conflict with the screen saver and the main display, as I think when the screen saver kicks in, it adjusts/shuts off the colors to the monochrome of sorts we see when it "bugs out". I tried shutting of the screen saver (Go to the options"Display-Advanced-Screen saver-When to start" and click "Never."), and it seems to be good for the moment. Not sure if this will hold as a temporary solution, as I have only been testing for a few minutes putting the phone to sleep and waking it several times, but I might be on to something...

Question Android 12 update for OnePlus 9 Pro.

I'm seeing lot's of posts about LE2123, LE2120, LE2125 being upgraded to android 12, with lots of people experiencing issues with unstable phones. Please humour me by answering this simple poll.
I would wait a while before updating. 12 has been a bomb and 11 isn't much better across all device manufacturers. No easy fixes.
Let Mikey try it...
You might get more useful info with a poll asking whether people experienced issues. After following several threads across various sites, I'm convinced that only a small minority have actually experienced "issues" (as in, something legit broken). The other vocal folks are just complaining that a feature was removed or changed and they don't like it. It's no different than every other major release.
Every major version is going to be a bit different from the previous one (that's the whole point of the new version number), and there's always a small risk and a small percentage of people who experience issues (which are almost always resolved by a wipe or clean flash). That's why OP tells you to back up your data before upgrading.
I updated to A12 and I am able to see some differences.
1. I've got 5g, volte and vowifi finally (5g on scnd SIM slot)
2. DPI is messed up in certain apps and options.
3. Battery life is worse (but I've been using stock kernel on A11, so this could make a difference)
4. I like A12s way to grant permissions.
Was it worth update? If you like your phone up to date - yes. If you care about system stability and look, stick with A11 until fixed A12 shows up.
It's not a coincidence that OP suspended A12 update. They see it was not ready.
My phone is OP 9 pro EU version. Did wipe it after update.
OnePlus is pulling its OxygenOS 12 update for the OP 9 and 9 Pro
Hopefully a bug-free release will be out soon

Good thing they pulled it before our OnePlus9Pro forum blew up!
I have the le2123 and I have encountered so many bugs. I did a wipe data and now all seems to make sense.
Now I'm pretty happy with this update. Let's see the battery in the next days.

I think yes? Found this option "high performance option" system always run at max performance.
When enable it an icon in the status bar appears but I think they forgot to change the style of the icon because it's a little oversized.
Apart from that after wipe no more glitched animation, more smoothness in all the operations, allarm clock work, icons and font now are ok and layout too (before i have mismatched dpi in various apps), keyboard now have the button for pull down (before there isn't). The only thing now it's Netflix on platstore, it say device not support.
Rooted with success with no problem, magisk hide works and installed Netflix with apk works too.

OxygenOS 12 [OB1] [Oneplus 8 Pro] - First Open Beta of Global OOS12

*Will update thread as rn im at work*
The first Open Beta for Global OOS has been release really quietly (no announcemment so far) but here is the link from where i download it:
https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/IN2025_11_C_OTA_1100_all_2fd4dc_10100001.zip
Been running the update since now about 6-7 hours, update from OOS11, same method as COS (download, put file on root and update from within 1+ update app). All apps and info stays the same. Its been running suuper stable, have tryied almost everything i can think. A little review:
-Notification are now working properly, everytime, even on AOD
-FP speed is insane (equal if not faster than OOS11)
-Lots of customizations but maintaining the OOS standards
-Battery drain equal or better than OOS11
-Banking apps working properly, even the FP auth ones
-Animations clearly faster and more smooth than OOS11
-Widevine L1
-No chinese bloatware (yeyy)
-True Amoled darkmode (Pitch Black)
-Vanced stuff working properly
Will keep the update and daily drive the thing, if someone need any info regarding how to update, or to "can you please check this...", im available to help

will this work?? I don't know how MSM tools works.
Won't charge on Android 12
Has anyone maintained magisk like we've done on stock rooted Android 11 updates? Usually I roll back magisk images. Install the update, let it do it's thing, not reboot. Then reinstall magisk and reboot. Will this process still work?
I have a problem with Line app crash.
(Color OS 12 beta , H2OS 12 Beta and also OOS 12 Beta.)
Now only run Custom 12. Line is my main chat app.
Ive tried out the firmware. Its working amazingly. Also, my phone that never once had a 5G bar suddenly says 5G (I am on Verizon). I feel like the battery life might be a little bit worse, but I have been using it the whole time with max brightness over the last 4 hrs. I went from 90 to 59%.
The photochrom app for infrared that works on android 11 doesn't seem to work, I have yet to try it with adb. It seems that engineering mode (factory mode) is blocked.
All of my apps seem to be running very stable. Calls, plex, games, etc. No issues
My OnePlus Bud z2 sound way better.
Ill add to this if there are any changes.
Edit 1: I forgot to say that after the update it ran sluggish for about the first 2 minutes then resumed back to blazing fast. I also updated from OOS (android 11) Beta 12.
It was also incredibly easy to retain root. Just use the system update to install the update manually then install magisk on the other slot. Restart, retain root.
Forced 120hz stopped working.
"hacked" call recording is not working.
New folders displays its content in the middle of the screen=poor reachability.
Cannot change folders icons into circles
Apps names visibility on home screen is connected to visibility inside the app drawer.
Widevine ok, banking apps ok
But for those who have the EU version phone, will there be a specific beta for EU or just the Global?

I instalalled this update yesterday night , for now everything seems stable , i can't tell if battery is better or not because I rooted my oos 11 , and metod to root oos 11 didn't work for me on oos 12 , anyone know how to root oos 12?
The thing i can tell , buttons to navigate system changed , i could set custom gestures on oos 11 like if i hold home button my screen turns off, now i can't and their position is worse than oos 11 . And I agree with others that fingerprint seems working even faster
