Question Nandroid backup for Twrp 3.6.1 - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I have found that nandriod backup with Twrp 3.6.1 does not work. Has anyone got it working? For me it ends with an error when restoring system partition backup. I have also disabled encryption and still the nandroid backup does not work. If anyone can provide instructions with any particular version of twrp, it will be helpful

I used nandroid backup for restore arrow 11 after wrong experiments with full success. I use twrp: 3.6.1_11-RedmiK40_v3.4_A12-alioth-skkk_49fc7a15.img
I have not tested the same with Android 12.1.

Nandroid: Restore Apps Only

Hi,
I had made a Titanium Backup of my apps only to find after I had flashed a new ROM /Wiped Data that all the backups are '0 kb' therefore nothing bloody backed up including app data, now I'm screwed, but I had a nandroid backup but was wondering If I was to be able to restore only 'Apps+Data' from the backup as in extract it individually.
EDIT: Can I restore apps from .androidsecure folder? I have a backup of 'ext' and extracted it but get error when doing so...
ROM INFO:___________________________

Please let me know asap, Many Thanks!
if you go over to the all things root section on androidforums, look for my thread about getting data back from a nandroid. it works
It might be a long-winded solution but can you not restore the nandroid and do the titanium backup again, then flash your new ROM?

Restoring CWM backup with TWRP, possible?

I made a backup of the stock ROM using CWM but had issues getting certain ROMs to work until I changed the recovery to TWRP. Is it possible to restore the backup made in CWM with TWRP?
I was planning on backing current ROM with TWRP, going back to CWM; restoring stock ROM, installing TWRP and recreating backup with TWRP but I'm just wondering if it's possible.
Thanks!
EDIT: I found the answer myself not 10 seconds after posting this. I hate it when that happens!! FYI, the answer is No.

[Q] Need to recover file from nandroid backup?!

Hi all,
I need to recover some information from my phone from before I flashed a new ROM, and wondering what's the easiest way about it based on the scenario given below;
I was running a rooted stock ROM (LB) with TWRP. I used titanium to batch backup my apps ( but seem to have overlooked my notepad app which had info in it that I now need.)
I installed resurrection remix which comes with CWM so can't just do a new nandroid, then restore the old one to get the info, then re-restore the newer backup.
Is there a way to extract the info direct from my twrp backup on my SD/ laptop or do I need to/is it possible to flash TWRP to replace CWM and keep the rest of the ROM as-is?
TIA
If you are just recovering a file, and not restoring the backup itself, try using nandroid manager. I can extract a file from my nandroid backup (created by cwm). I never tried it with twrp nandroid backup though.
Other option is to try to flash the Dual Recovery on your phone.
Then you have TWRP and CWM on your phone.

Unable to restore Nandroid after flashing Community Build Beta 7

Alright, so I've been on 3.2.7 for a while and decided to try out the community builds. Here are the steps I took.
1. Flashed eng.stk's twrp-3.0.2-1.26-oneplus3.img
2. Wiped everything except internal storage
3. Flashed community build beta 7
Now, whenever I try to restore a Nandroid backup, it being 3.2.7 (which I understand can fail) or the backup of the community build I just made, the phone is bricked and won't get past the white 1+ screen.
How can I restore data from my Nandroid backups again?
p.s. This modified recovery is warning me that there is "No OS installed! Are you sure?" after each flash or restore. I have to hard-power-off my phone, and after that it boots fine. Is this normal?

Restoring contacts from nandroid backup? Restoring is failing

So I just came to RR ROM from Stock 3.2.8 via TWRP 3.0.4-1
Before upgrading etc. I took Nandroid backup. I firstly thought my all contacts would be synced with Google so I did not take separate backup of contacts. but now it seems it has messed up my contacts and most of them are missing after syncing on my RR.
So I tried finding answers if contacts extraction is possible or not from Nandroid backup or not but it seems its not possible. Even after using couple of apps from Play store.
So I thought, I would just go back to 3.2.8 Nandroid and backup my contacts and come back to RR again. But its giving me error while restoring data partition:
Code:
Restoring Data(excl. storage)...
extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255
So, Do I need to flash firmware/modem for 3.2.8 before I come back to 3.2.8 nandroid backup?
Tried this. Doesn't work.
Or what other options do I have?
Thanks!
