LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:
Follow the instructions on the wiki page for your device https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#samsung
Only the provided lineage recovery will be supported, using TWRP might result in a possible data loss!
Note: You may use Odin instead of Heimdall, for this you will need to rename the recovery image to recovery.img and pack it into a tar archive.

DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Probably the most common question of any of your current unoffical 19.1 users:
Is it possible to use an offical update on an unoffical running system without wiping? Also, if not, will you continue building updates for the unofficial brand?

Thanks for developing LOS 19.1
I discovered a minor bug on the S10 5G.
I'm guessing it's related to the front camera cutout. The status bar icons are missing in portrait mode, but are normal in landscape mode (see attached screenshots)

@Linux4,
Thank you very much! Your work on bringing LineageOS to the S10 is much appreciated. How can one make a small donation (without having paypal and preferably as anonymous as possible)?

Hello , one quick question
I am currently on unofficial lineage os 19 latest build. Does my recovery work with the official build or do I need the new one.
Also if the latter is the case can I upgrade from within my existing recovery ? ( I Don't have working adb at the moment)
Thanks in advance

@Linux4 I don't know if anyone has tested it already but... Is it possible to upgrade from the official 18 version without wiping data?
Thanks for your time!!

Yes. I successfully did it with an S10e and S10 5G. But the original Samsung firmware was fairly recent on those two devices I upgraded. I don't know what it'll be like on a device running earlier firmware.

I may have a very special question.
First of all, the ROM itself works great and as expected, just with one particular problem.
I wanted to use the phone as my work phone which unfortunaltey need "mobileiron go" installed.
I recently used the phone with another rom including root and therefore i needed to change to a nonroot, to be able to install mobileiron. Now the installation itself works but i don't get proper connection afterwards.
It seems that the App which is already running in a work profile don't recognize or use the Wifi or mobile data.
So, did i maybe miss to enable any special authorizations for work profile?
I checked everything but i have no clue whats wrong.
I only could see that the app also does not show the device IMEI or S/N.
So, maybe a incompatibility with the custom rom after all?
Would be glad for any help!
Cheers

I have no experience with Mobileiron Go, but I noticed you mentioned the IMEI won't show. Just guessing here, but I think that for an app to determine the IMEI, it requires Google Services Framework. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Would I still get support if I installed things like Magisk?

it was working fine for a good 5 days and today I decided to give it a twrp backup. On my first try backing it up, it got stuck at around 30% so I cancelled it and backed it up again. When I booted it up, I noticed that my Youtube Vanced app disappeared so I installed that again through the manager. At this point the phone basically freezes and the phone restarts by itself after a minute of being frozen. I tried restoring the twrp backup but I got the same issue. Im not sure if my attempts at backing the phone using twrp have any relation to the kernel panic but I figured I should include it. I attached the kmsg.txt

From my understanding, if the firmware is too old before installing lineage, either one must reflash the stock firmware then reinstall lineage (and have fun with backup/reinstall), or find a repackaged firmware that only includes the bits not rewritten by the lineage image, which I have not been able to find.

If you had read the OP you knew TWRP is not supported. Please flash full stock and start all over with lineage recovery.

Thanks for that handy link. I'm curious to know what version of firmware I'm actually running right now for comparison. I looked for clues in the download mode screen as well as have a look at the output generated by heimdall print-pit. Is there a way to know? Also, Is there much risk of running into new problems if I just update the firmware on an up and running installation of LOS19.1 ?

Do adb shell getprop ro.boot.bootloader
Most of the time baseband version from about phone also matches bootloader version but that doesn't always have to be the case.

Just to make sure I'll get the update right. I'm currently on the official LOS18.1 with OpenGapps.
The steps I'll have to do to get to 19 are:
Flash Firmware-Update via Odin/Heimdall - https://lineage.linux4.de/fw_update/beyond0lte.html
Flash LOS via adb sideload
Update Lygisk in Recovery
reboot
How do I update Gapps? Can I achieve this without loosing Data?

I left my phone overnight and the lag seems mostly gone now.
Do note that I left it to charge overnight, and iirc since Oreo, if the device is fully charged, it begins optimizing the dex files to produce oat files which perform better. Now I am a bit rusty regarding Android ART internals so I may be wrong.
Either way, it's a night and day difference and my phone is much smoother now. (PS: I am also using firekernel, but I flashed that yesterday with the ROM)
---------- Post added at 08:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:06 AM ----------
Anyone else having issues flashing Magisk? More specifically, does TWRP (3.2.3) crash while flashing Magisk?
Do note that I use firekernel, so this is in no way a bug report or complaint to our awesome dev. I'm just asking if anyone else is having issues.
PS: I don't mind making a bug report on the stock kernel if someone else also has this issue on stock.

Does this support 120hz and the air triggers?
Wow, many thanks indeed!! However, do you have a list if what's working/not working, bugs and such?
i tried to flash it it does not work i done the full wipes and have latest twrp
Error in flashing and all my data are gone. Tsk!
Has anyone managed to boot yet?
Thank You sir for creating the first rom for our phone. Rom booted successfully and 120hz is working like a charm.
If anyone having issue in installing this rom here are the steps -
1) Extract lineage-17.1-20200319-UNOFFICIAL-I001D.zip in your pc and get payload.bin
2)Download payload dumper for windows extract it and than put payload.bin in payload_input folder
3)Run payload_dumper.exe you will get 5 .img files boot,system,vendor,dtbo,vbmeta
4)Flash all of the .img files using fastboot command and than reboot

Unfortunately, it does not work
I have been waiting for this! Thanks for the ROM.
Also thanks @Apoorv_87, I followed your instructions to install and it worked.
I have a few questions:
How do I enable 120Hz? I cant seem to find it in the display settings.
Do all LineageOS builds come with GApps pre installed now?

did you flash through twrp?, and did it skip setup for you aswell?
So here a few tips:
I haven't tested flashing with TWRP, all I know is that it works properly using Lineage Recovery, that is provided within the ROM.
I'll upload it as a standalone image
This build includes Gapps because I'm testing -user builds with verity enabled, so these images are basically my goto for testing CTS.
The current broken things are the vibrator ( will fix soon hopefully ) and air triggers ( probably won't be fixed )
Magisk worked last time I tried flashing it, so it should be fine.
For anyone coming from stock/another rom you have to wipe data _properly_ using the fastboot -w command
Also of course you need to be on the latest Android 10 build by Asus.
If there are some size issues, that might happen on some variants, I based the partition sizes on my device, things may change.

I unpacked the zip, got the boot.img (same as the one linked above) moved it to my phone, pactched it with Magisk, moved it back to my PC then flashed it.
This is the only way I could get it working for me. TWRP would break the ROM and make me have to reinstall.
I still went through setup.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
DO NOT Report bugs if you're using TWRP
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Installing LineageOS for the first time
Flash lineage recovery
Only the provided lineage recovery will be supported,
using TWRP might result in a possible data loss!!
If using Odin rename the lineage recovery image for your model to recovery.img and add it to a .tar archive using e.g 7zip.
If using Heimdall use: heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img --no-reboot
Boot lineage recovery
IMPORTANT: Do not boot into system again before booting recovery, or system will restore stock recovery!
If using Odin untick auto-reboot before flashing.
After flashing reboot by pressing Volume Down and Power for approximately 7 seconds,
immediately hold Volume Up and Power to boot recovery
IMPORTANT: As of OneUI 3 your device needs to be connected to a PC via USB cable in order to be able to
boot recovery via Volume Up and Power.
Factory reset using Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset
Warning: Unlike TWRP this will also erase internal storage!
Sideload LineageOS by enabling sideload via Apply Update -> Apply from ADB
Then run adb sideload <path to your lineage.zip> on your PC
Optional:
Sideload GApps and magisk by repeating above step
with their zip/apk
Known issues:
VoLTE/VoWiFi

Gonna try this out later. Nice!
Looks awesome!
NOTE: z3s (Galaxy s20 ultra) and y2s (galaxy s20 plus) builds are still uploading, hold tight
Nice ! Thank you so much for the great work and effort put into this
Two questions:
1. Is 5G working as it is not anymore in the "known issues" section ?
2. When using the latest S firmware is a dirty flash from LOS 18.1 possible ?
Cheers !

I am not sure about 5G as i only have a 4G device. Otherwise the devices are same
about 2. Dirty flashing could Theoretically work but i really cannot guarantee it. You can always try updating only the firmware for your device by going here https://github.com/Linux4/firmware-update/releases and finding your device and flashing everything with heimdall with the provided command, then try dirty flashing without wiping.
All three builds are uploaded now, enjoy!
Exelent ROM for people like me that dislike oneui and all its bloatware. Beside that this rom work so mutch better then the current oneui4 that feels slow and sluggish compared with los12.

Thanks again to the team for your work.
I'm on G980FXXSCDUJ5 (S20 4G - x1s).
I was trying to upgrade to latest firmware G980FXXSCEUL9 before to load your 'lineage-19.0-20220111-UNOFFICIAL-x1s' but I have a problem.
According to me, two firmwares on your GitHub link are not corresponding to their designation:
-firmware-SM-G980F-G980FXXSCEUL9
-firmware-SM-G980F-G980FXXSCEUL7
(after download, sha256 hash controls are ok)
I've flashed these firmwares and the result for both is:
-G980FXXUCEUL6
-bootloader relocked
-On Download Mode screen, additional Japanese texts appear
I loaded back G980FXXSCDUJ5 from my datas.
Can you have a look ?
Thanks

only IN and CN version have Android 12 . I don't know should flash which firmware .
I have a 7T Pro McLaren edition (the non-5G one) running the official Europe ROM and I got the update yesterday using the OnePlus updater app.
It says: HD1913_11.F.17_3170_202210120449
This ROM is excellent so far. Feels faster than 18 was. No incompatibilities to report yet.
Thanks for maintaining this device.
Procedure was this: Sideloaded from recovery on top of 18 - using 18.1 recovery - then rebooted to fastboot without starting the phone and flashed 19.1 recovery. From there reboot to recovery and flash Gapps. Start phone. Win.
I did not update the firmware before that procedure.
Heads up: extracting the boot.img for Magisk was fun!
Thanks for the report.

Hi!, To install LOS-19 should I be on the latest OOS 11.x.x.x or OOS 12.x? [In the pre-req page it tells to be on the latest "ANDROID 12" firmware so I assume OOS-12 is required?]
talking about the Indian Variant, also I am on FlamingOS 13 with the latest OOS 11 firmware, can I directly install LOS-19 if the latest OOS 11 is required for LOS?
hey there... when i unlock on OOS12(F.17) i always lose widevine L1.
I can reliably replicate this behaviour.
is there any way to mitigate this?
when i unlock on OOS11 however, Widevine L1 is retained..
thank you for bringing this ROM to us.
Hi there, been running this rom by a week and feels great, only thing seems to be missing the L1 certificate, any suggestions?
Perhaps Widevine certification became more strict in A12 where an unlocked bootloader will make it fallback to L3.

I don't think it exactly makes L1 work. However, I think hiding root using magiskhide enables L1.
If it helps, I've set mine to use the pixel 3a fingerprint since the current stable version of magiskhide (6.1.2-v137) supports android 12.
Latest LOS 19.1 is A12 or A12.1 (L) ?
Have working OTA ?
Preferred Gapps (nik, mind) ?

Thank you very much for LineageOS 20! Tried the upgrade from 19.1 following this guide https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/gts4lv/upgrade (including recovery and gapps). The upgrade process went ok, Android 13 is booting up but I dont have WIFI connection. The WIFI toggle in settings is OFF, if i switch it to ON it goes back to OFF when I close settings and open them again. Will try a factory reset in the next days.
Damned! Made a mistake! I used recovery and lineageos image for the LTE variant of S5E for my update instead of the WIFI variant. Now I made a factory reset and used the correct recovery and lineageos files for installation and it looks like WIFI is working (at least in the google setup wizzard I have WIFI now). Sorry for posting nonsense!

Connecting my USB-C Ethernet adapter to the tablet does not cause the tablet to use it instead of the wifi. I get a green light on the adapter for power but there is no data transfer. USB OTG Checker app recognizes the adapter as an ethernet adapter and does not detect any issue when connected. Attached is a 60 second logcat portion from when I connected the adapter.

I've updated LOS from 20230101 to 20230102 via Updater some minutes ago but the Recovery was not updated (still showing 01.01.).
