All lens work on both versions. Good night sight, better than stock.
However, other than low light, I prefer the stock camera with Leica natural filter. The exposure and colors are more true to life and more detailed.
Have a look:

Posting Photospheres Elsewhere

This might not be the right place for this...
Given Photosphere's open nature, is there a way to post photospheres to other websites? Specifically I want to put photospheres on my self-hosted Wordpress blog, either by hosting on G+ and embedding, or even better by uploading straight to my Wordpress site.
Any ideas (for a code novice!)?

Open? What is this I don't even...
AFAIK you can only take photosphere's using the GalleryGoogle camera, and only view them in GalleryGoogle and on G+
Yeah, they're open. The photospheres are nothing but standard jpeg panoramas. Anyone could write an app to view them mapped onto a sphere.
photo.merq.org
photo.merq.org is a new site for publishing your spheres. You can decide if you want to set your photos in public or private mode.
You only need a google account.
Not many pics on site at the moment.

Just to add, you can do some really rad photos with photosphere besides spheres. Like a super-wide angle shot

From a house I went to view last month. I hadn't even intended on it just kinda screwed up and then realised the photo came out great anyway as a flat picture. I've taken a few more just this way since then (2 rows of 6-8 shots horizontal)
I really think it should be Jelly Bean's killer feature. There's nothing like this on any other system.
But no-one seems to have picked it up to run with, especially third-party plug ins. As soon as other sites can post them, the rest of the world will notice how awesome they are!
In case anyone is interested, there is now a Wordpress plugin that works brilliantly at displaying Photospheres on your own blog.
WP-Photosphere: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-photo-sphere/
And the plugin used on my own site: http://photostream.electro-web.co.uk/2013/03/26/carisbrooke-castle/
Widpic.com
Its a free tool to host and share 360 photosphere pictures
You can host a photosphere and put it in your web site easily.

[APP][2.1+][Beta] Pho.to Lab - photo effects, frames and montages

Hi everyone!
We're looking for testers for our photo processing app named Pho.to Lab. It's a collection of more than 500 photo effects. These are mostly photo frames and photo montages. All the effects are applied automatically, so the app works more like Instagram filters rather than Photoshop. Warning: it needs Internet connection to process photos. If you're going to use cellphone data, you better not.
Pho.to Lab has been on the market since 2011, but we have completely redesigned the new version. I've attached some screenshots to compare the versions so you can see how different they are. And this difference is the reason why we are looking for testers.
View attachment 2168443View attachment 2168444
We're looking for feedback on two things. The first one is, obviously, any kind of bugs. Weird fonts, erratic shadows, stuff like that. You know,he app redesign can work bad on devices with extremely small or large resolutions or ppi. The second thing you could tell us is if you ike the app design. Was it obvious how to use it? Did the app do what you expected?
To get access to the app, join XDA Android App testers community or Pho.to Lab Beta community. Then follow this link and, pretty please, read what Play Market says you. Just in case you don't feel like reading it: opt-in first, then click the link below, then click 'Install' button.
Feel free to ping me anywhere. This thread, PMs, comments in one of the communities, and G+ messages are welcome. And please remember that I live in Eastern Europe. If you're from America and you're posting your comment in evening, I might very well be sleeping. So don't worry if I don't answer your questions or comments immediately, I'll definitely get back to you a little later.
Please check out Pho.to Lab and thank you!

16 MegaPixel Pictures from our Mi A1!! Its Possible!!!!! Open to find out!!

By default Mi A1 camera shoots 12 mp pics and it does do a great job. Now while moving around xda I found a wonderful app which does image interpolation to create 16 mp pics. and it does a great job. it is only 118 kb as well.
Steps:
1) Download and Install the app. http://www79.zippyshare.com/v/oHfgXeXh/file.html
2) Give it all permissions if not already given.
3) open it and click on 16:0 if not already highlighted.
4) Click on the "A" button and it will shoot as Autofocus with autoflash in 16 mp. Congrats.
I have neither created nor edited the app. Its original made by Andrew Arriva of XDA. All credits goes to him.

About me:
I am a tester and sometimes modder who thinks passionately about Mi A1 and try the best mods for our phone. We (Meaning a group of like minded friends who are constantly into testing mods apps roms etc for our phone and also fixing it in case of problems) have formed a whatsapp group where we share all things for test or fix things. We are like a family and help each other in a step by step manner or a detailed way. If you want you can be a part of this wonderful group too. Invite link is appended below:

The worst camera app dont try it
It's does make 16.. But is there any benefit of having 16?i mean, the all that matters is quality. Doesn't it?
thanks for the guide, but is not real 16mp, is 16mp interpolated... pretty useless.
It is more like a software gimmick.
please don't fool me.

Google Camera #best setup

These past few days I was looking for XML for Hypercam that I like, I'm kind of picky and I didn't find a 100% that would fit me in everything like day/night, so I took a little bit of each of the best XML I've ever used and assembled a , I present to you "Murphy"
first, I created it especially for Mi A3, if you have Mi8 or Pocophone you will need to change Hypercam patch tab (so before you change XML, go to that tab and print it so that after restoring Murphy you do this change), preferably use Hypercam E3!
is divided into 2 files, XML and TXT
XML you put in GCam/Configs folder and TXT you put in GCam/Lib folder
I recommend moving TXT first and then moving XML and then logging into Hypercam E3 and restoring it
Murphy.txt was sent to me by Telegram and consequently lost the original name and came as 362836276.txt, it is from a Russian man, if he acknowledges contact me and I change the name and give you the credits!

sorry for the bad english, Google Translate fault updated XML on 01/19/2020
great results tonight, same as stock at 48 this is the best gcam so far
Any photo samples? I tried and in daylight conditions resulting photos are slightly underexposed.

If you don't mind me saying, of all the gcam ports I have tried,Urnyx's latest 7.2 port with Urnyx's optimized mi a3 xml file- is the best. And the closest competitor in my opinion is Hypercam R6 with Prime Exclusive xml from Profilecam app. now, what i prefer
in urnyx's port is the size of the pic. In urnyx, i get the pic in half the size of Hypercam pic while maintaining same quality. But, I haven't compared the pics in PC so can't say if quality is reduced in bigger screen. But, in the phone screen, Urnyx's smaller sized photo looks as good as Hypercam.
@LzDoBeaTs - thanks for sharing the profile. I quickly compared photos in overcast daylight and with Hypercam E3 it really provides very nice photos. A bit over-sharpened, but still good. Colors are closely matching stock camera. Now I need to wait for the night and sunny weather for further testing. But it looks really promising Maybe we finally have a competitor for stock app.

You must have eagle eyes to see differences on the 720p OLED screen. In my experience, low res screen and punchy OLED colors make pretty much any photo good looking. But as soon as they're viewed on a PC, the real quality shows up and the differences between various settings and apps are often very obvious. Other times differences are subtle (yet important) and next to impossible to see on a mobile phone - photos must be zoomed in and placed side by side to really see what's different.

I haven't liked any GCam 7.2 photo results yet, only for night mode. About Hypercam R6 a friend said that it really is better than E3, today I do the tests and if I realize the difference, I update the post
XML is updated
Still quite dark and a bit oversaturated outdoor photos for my taste, sky is blueish than it really is and grass is greener than it really is.
I was using HyperCam R6. I'll try to make a set of samples stock vs HyperCam (Murphy profile) this week.

As you did not write where and how are you trying to download them, there is no precise answer.
General ideas:
- click on the link, file loads in a new tab, right click, save as
- click on the link, file loads in a new tab, select all text, copy, create a new file, paste, save
- click on the link in Tapatalk, it will save files automatically
- click on QR code and scan it
- click on the link, copy URL name from the new tab, use CURL command line utility to download the file
- take a screenshot/photo and use OCR to convert images to text

Hello what is the best gcam now ? I lost between many versions ..

Cameras for Redmi Note 8 and doubts

More I search, more things I find and less answers too.
I would like to know a few things because it is difficult to look in forums that are not in my native language and find a lot of different informations, so if you can help, I would appreciate it.
1: What is the difference (I mean, in quality) between photo apps? Like: GCAM, MGCAM, Burial, PixelCam, HyperCam and etc?
1.5: What is the difference between developers of the same application? Like "Gcam" Urnyx, Anova, Nikita, and etc. Because they all have the "7.3" version of GCAM and they all have a version that works on Redmi Note 8, so isn't that the same thing?
2: Where do I find XML's? I know that in GCam Hub there are some from each developer, but, if I understand correctly, XML's work as "filters" based on the quality settings/color setting of the camera (right?) and if so, where I search according to the color/effect/filter that I like? For example: something more saturated, like some "sci fi" or "neon" effect.
3: Where i find the best community to look for and search things about that apps? Because all the places I found indicate the XDA forum and also the Telegram, but in Telegram I join a group and indicate another, then in the other I go to another and in the end I am in 200 groups and none have this type of information.
Here's my basic understanding:
1. Different versions of Google Camera (GCam). Different parties implement it differently - different features, etc.
2. I get mine from Telegram.
3. There are a bunch of Telegram groups. Specific groups even for the different GCam verion.
My suggestion... Play around with the different version. See what you want and like.
