Good day. Please can someone give advice - i got CN X80pro V2185A 12\256.
When i set screen refreshrate to smart switch i get only 60 and 120 real refresh rate via counter.

OH I see! That looks messed up. Funtouch os? I think that'll probably be fixed with an update cause you seem to be on all the correct options.
You're using auto brightness?

yes auto brightness

Wish I could help, but I have the China dimensity 9000 version with no issues

asked vivo CN customer service, this is their refresh rate strategy for dark mode, so it wont be fixed, probably they have their reason behind for it

so its looks like
1) 1-120 wont work in dark mode theme
2) 1-120 wont work in low brightness
3) 10-120 work in 30%+ level
4) 1-120 work in 70% levels

If I set my refresh rate to 120hz should it stay there wherever I am or whatever I am doing woth my phone? Coz even in homescreen or using chrome it still goes down to 10.

Fix adaptive brightness (all windows 8)

I customized a luminosity curve for my surface rt, just edit the registry keys.
Download extract and run the attached .reg file and confirm the insertion of the Keys, then reboot the system.
Alert to make a backup of the old keys if you want to restore the previous state.
This change is compatible with all windows 8 but I have tested only on the surface.
Adaptive brightness varies proportionally to the user manual brightness, I suggest to manually adjust the brightness bar to about 20%, if you place the bar at 0 the brightness will be minimal with no automatic adaptation.
Appreciated thanks
New version v2
New improved version.
Try it and tell me if it's okay.
In the zip you will find the normal version and one with more brightness in the dark
I suggest to manually adjust the brightness bar to about 25%
Someone asked me why I did this!
In my surface the luminosity curve does not satisfy me.
The display seemed to have only three levels of brightness, setting an average value (ie on the desk in the room in the morning) adaptivity did not fit values for low-light (night) and lots of light, that is to say the brightness in the dark was not a minimum making it annoying for the view and unnecessary consumption of battery, instead with shaded light levels brightness became easily maximum, with again a waste of battery.
This forced me to move often the brightness bar manually, but now with my calibration does not touch more because it adapts automatically to any light condition.
Also the adaptation of brightness occurred after 3 seconds by the change of light, whereas now changes instantly in 0,1 seconds (100ms).
Awesome, didn't know windows could be modded to do this! On a more related note, isn't the update interval a bit too high? 30x faster than normal seems a bit excessive and the battery drain would be very much more. If it is not too much trouble, could you perhaps make a version that updates every 1 second? This way people can download whichever one suits them best.
Thanks
version 1sec
It is not the refresh rate of the sensor, but the time between changes in display brightness because of lighting conditions.
This parameter does not affect the battery consumption.
However, to keep you happy I attach the version by 1 second.
Tell me if the curve satisfy you in different light conditions.
Thank you, going to try it out now. What do you mean it is the time between changes of brightness? Shouldn't the brightness only change when the sensor detects it? Or is this a filtering via an average for the time period method?
Going to try out both of them to see the differences. Will report back here.
Back!: guess I understand what you are saying, the timing is just the gap between the different brightness levels, not the sensor reading. Sorry for the confusion caused.
I found the 1 sec one to not have a wide enough brightness range, but your original 0.1 sec one works perfectly. Using it now!
Thanks again!
Yes, is the time to change between the different levels of brightness.
1 sec or 0.1 sec, the luminosity curve is the same.
Just for curiosity on what hardware you have tested?
I'm using it on a surface rt. But now I notice in the dark, I can't manually increase brightness anymore. I didn't backup my registry either, but its okay.
Edit: I can edit the brightness manually if I disable the auto brightness under settings
more light night
My intent was never to touch the brightness bar!
In this version, setting the bar more than about 25%, I raised slightly the minimum brightness

Works with all desktop, notebook, tablet in any version of windows 8. Obviously if you have a built-in light sensor recognized by windows

On surface 1 just delete the ALRPoints key for the default curve value, on surface 2 I think is the same.

Also doing the restore of your backup, you must delete the key "ALRpoints".
This is the right backup

120hz QHD Developer Mode Toggle

So we know the 120hz is only enabled for FHD+ and limited to 60hz on QHD, but there's been some talk from leaks leading up to today saying it may still be possible to get 120hz in QHD using a developer mode option, can anyone confirm this is still possible?

I'd like to know this as well. Hopefully you get an answer from someone who has knowledge within the phone. I pray if there isn't an option that XDA finds a way to do it through ADB like the force 90hz option on OnePlus 7 Pro.
hopefully that exists
I really hope we can Atleast do 90Hz on 1140p.,

Can you try this tasker profile.
Import this little profile here to tasker. You need to give tasker the permissions it asks for within adb please report back

I also can't understand official's behavior.In order to improve battery life,He close full 90hz by system update。。
My Chinese rom black shark 3 also does not run at 90hz with it turned on. Not even the system ui runs at 90hz. I hope we figure out a way to force it.
Reading their advertising, it's only for gaming and video modes
I messaged black shark support and they said that they are considering a force 90hz mode. Fingers crossed for a future update.
Try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/black-shark-3/how-to/forcing-90hz-refresh-rate-to-apps-t4134965
I'd prefer a 30Hz option and save battery - why would reading pages on the internet 'improve' at 90Hz??

It's a known issue, there are already several threads about this, here on Xda.
It's fixed in latest China firmware, so maybe it will come later in other regions. All apps are 120hz now (I don't know about games, I don't play games).
Your friend can wait or he can flash the latest Xiaomi.eu custom ROM.

Dude i ll just tell the best working way download the tool which has been attached for that u need to have java installed that is also been attached.
Method ,
in developer options turn on USB Debugging and open the tool (Xiaomi adbfastboot tools) and delete the battery and performance and booo ur phone is in 120hz always
Tell me if ur friends issue is fixed or not
DO NOT delete the "battery and performance". It will cause instability in the system and other performance issues. This guy above me is giving you bad advice.

Is my phone defective or is this present in every mi11x cause this is a software bug ?
Clear the data of Battery and performance app. That should do the trick. But it will return when you reboot. I do that in mine a few days and it somehow fixed it self. Now I don't do clear data trick. I'm on 120fps all the way with no color/brightness shift.

I'm not sure, but try disabling "Smoothen transitions" and "Sunlight mode" in Settings > Display > Brightness level, as well as disabling "Adaptive colors" in Color Scheme section.
I remember doing some of this fixed the problem.
Please share your results with us.
No bro it doesn't help it's still the same.
Is this problem fixed in miui 13 ?
Or is this a hw issue which means my unit is defective ?
I have tested in my phone, I can see color changes in the lapse between 60-120hz transition if the color scheme is saturated and adaptive colors is enabled. You need to try with a hard reset, I know is annoying, but we decide to get a Mibuggi phone.
It's happens to me when on arrowos 12 but setting the minimum refresh rate to 120hz fixes it for me, would prefer to have the minimum set the 60hz but this is my only work around

Well I have just spent the past half hour or so trying to reproduce your issue. With 'show refresh rate' enabled in dev options I see no change at all with whatever settings I try. I cannot see or reproduce you issue with my poco f3. However, I am running a custom rom - AICP 16.1.....
I'm not sure if this is the sole reason I don't have your problem, and I'm not saying you don't have a hardware problem. But, why not try a custom rom to see if you can reproduce th issue. I see you have been around XDA for a while so should know your way around flashing a custom rom to check... Might be easier and quicker than sending your phone off for possible repair. Also, one of the first things the repair center may well say (I'm assuming) is to try and factory reset you phone after backing up.
SO, my point is, if you are that worried its a hardware issue, and assuming the service center will just ask you to factory first of all, why not backup as much as you can and try a custom rom... see if it persists.
You can always make a note of what rom version you are running now and download it just in case. Then flash the custom rom and if the problem is still there and you need to send your phone off to the service center, just reflash the original rom locking the bootloader during flash. The service center will never know it has been flashed etc
